I am glad Ferdinand has been left at home, it gives him two weeks to get his sh1t together ready for Anfield. Training hard with Smalling & Vidic over the next couple weeks will do him good.

So I take it you lot are finishing 5th then you arrogant so and so's. You just want to thank your lucky stars you pulled Spurs when they were in disarray with Modric gate.

You laboured to victory against the Canaries who, for the record, shoud've netted 3.

Your man Jones was turned inside out that many times by Dellia's winger it was laughable. You have no midfield and your defencive frailities will catch up with you.

Such a man of substance old Fergie, £10K a week extra and he's back on the BBC. Did the Panorama documentary have any legs or not Mr Ferguson? Is Captain Marvel still on the payroll or is he still trying to broker a deal to buy Sheffield Utd?

You lot are that arrogant its painful. I can't even watch England anymore due to Utd's arrogant element.

Did any of you spot Haircut 100's response to the ballboys request for an autograph after the Montenegro game? Disgraceful.

Now let me get this right. At the end of last season after getting battered by Barcelona, it was accepted by everybody including Sir Alex and Gill that our midfield just wasn't good enough and we needed a world class midfielder. I said this wouldn't happen because of the Glazers and was told by Sydney and Gan to wait till the end of the transfer window to see what happened. Well nothing happened but we had a good second half against City in the Charity shield and suddenly everything was fixed and Cleverley was the answer to all our problems along with Anderson who has always flattered to deceive. Suddenly everyone is starting to realise that we didn't fix last years problem and if we are not careful it will bite us on the bum. Please please don't put all your hopes on the young lad Cleverley he is not the answer and is far too young to have so much expectation put on his shoulders. Hey wait a minute lets spend the next couple of months talking about world class players that we can buy in the window only to be let down again and told that the squad is good enough.RAINFISHTROMBONE

5 players that i think would finish off our squad would be Higuain, Thiago Silva, Bartley, Modric and Bale. Obviously they would come at a price, but still, i think Higuain, Bartley and Bale would be all worth it.

I can understand if people think that this a naive comment, but I'm not sure that we do need to improve our central midfield. People have been saying that we need an attacking and a defensive midfielder. The answer to our problems are under our noses, IMO. Firstly, in terms of the 'Modric' player that we apparently need, Tom Cleverley is as good a passer as him with brilliant vision and arguably a bit more steel. In terms of a defensive midfielder, we can use Jones as a DM for big games such as Chelsea, Citeh and Barca, but for lesser games we don't need one and we can be more attacking and use both Ando and Cleverley. I can understand why people want new faces and I wouldn't mind if we did buy. However, after this international break when most of the injuries have cleared up, I believe we will see the return of the defensively solid United we are used to. Upon Clev's return, I also think we will utilise the ball better and see the best of Ando, as Clev brings out the best him.

I am really looking forward to the Spurs/Arsenal derby today. I think we will witness the team that will finish 4th come May. I think it will be Spurs, I see Spurs winning 3.1 or 4.1 today. And if they can get Dawson back, they will be a handful against anyone. Harry is using the Europa to blood his youth. I think Levy has made a very good decision in blocking the Modric move.

Sydney,

I just read your post about Jack Rodwell,

We had this debate last year about whether or not he'd be good enough, i thought he wouldn't be.

but as you said in your post he's played brilliantly these last two games, so if he can stay injury free I think he'd actually make a hell of a difference to our team.

He's big, strong, great in the air, great tackling ability and he's also very good technically, so if we're trying to be like Barcelona (As Rooney said) then getting him would provide us with a Busquets mould player that doesn't try to be Tom Daley.

So, I take back what I was saying in the summer, If we can get him and Barkley I'll be a happy lad. I'd also LOVE Baines to be our new LB, going forward he's okay, but defensively he's very strong.

The only thing I don't agree with in your post is throwing Diouf into the deal.

As you know I'm a massive Diouf fan, and although I'd like to see him playing every week, I'm standing by the fact that I honestly believe if he goes to a team and plays every week he'll turn into this Drogba-esque type forward, something we really don't need to face ;).

I'd be happy to give Everton;

Gibson
Macheda
Morrison (Loan)
Maybe Carrick
and £25 Million
(Chuck Evra in to if he'd go there).

In exchange for:
Baines
Barkley
Rodwell

Obviously something like that isn't likely, but I'd love to see those 3 at Old Trafford and I couldn't care less about if the other 4 leave (minus Morrison).

dont think we need a defensive midfielder what we need is 2 midfielders who and keep the ball and dictate a game,
the other team can't score if they cant get the ball

Nothing to do with United I know, but I've just seen the Rodwell sending off, and I have got to say it's one of the worst decisions I've seen in a while. I'm stunned by it.

I really think United should groom Jones for the central midfield role! He has great potential!!

As much as all opposing fans are thinking we are slipping in recent weeks I think yesterday's performance showed why we are champions. The majority of the time when we aren't playing particularly well and the opposition are defending brilliantly we still find a way to win.

Ask yourselves if at the start of the season we were given 19 points from a possible 21 would you have taken it? Of course you would when you look at the fixures we have had already. Yesterday was the 1st match where it was thought to be an "easy game" though no game in the PL is an easy one.

I personally believe that our points total so far reflects how well our new younger, more open and attacking side have gelled in the space of 3 months or so. There is no need for people to worry because we are building something. Jones, Smalling, Cleverley, Welbeck, De Gea are all still inexperienced youngsters but we are still top with a better goal difference than anyone. If we can produce a team who from their 1st 7 largely difficult games in the league are unbeaten and have won 6 of them imagine what this team could do in 2 or 3 years time?

£125million spent compared to zero spent by Everton & still needed the ref and a cheating South American to get anything and now Liverpool fans are celebrating as if they've won the league. I guess they need a reality check. Don't worry, we'll give it to them in our next match.

If saf is to buy at this season break in january then it would 1 full back(left),to cover evra,1 attacking midfielder to back up cleverly,,as we have struggled in his absence, and 1 defensive midfielder most probably saf's longtime target santo's lucas as cover for anderson i believe we are to sell and loan several players like carrick, gibson, macheda, owen and diouf,,
