I was 8 years Old playing for my school team in cotton T-shirts when One my friends Dad came to watch School games wearing a Red Jersey with Beckham Written on it.
Later i spoke to my friend saying your dad's T-Shirt was Awesome.
He said its of a player who scored from Half way and plays for Manchester United, they are currently the best team in England.

I was like, how can i watch this team play as we didn't have a Television set, i told my dad about this and he was like we'll buy a TV soon.
For Two years my dad saved money to buy a second hand Television, i don't remember which was the first game i saw, but ever since that day
i have hardly missed any game. The more i saw the more i fell in love with this team.
We never lost a game, we just ran out of time, the belief of never losing a game was always there in sight.
This club had everything that a Kid looks out for when he is growing up.
Had some really wonderful moments as a Fan and things are really tough these days but nothings going to change our love for this team.
Just need to remember why we started loving this team so much.

Are all the stories enough for my Kid to follow the same love as i do, we will rise back from where we are and get on top soon?

I am already ready with the stories anyways :P

We were bound to experience a down patch.

ED002 warned us that we might have to expect not qualifying for European football.

As a fan, I realise we have been spoilt we the success we've had under SAF.

Onwards and forwards (backwards for now) . It's like trying to hold onto a mechanical bull ;)

I started supporting in August 68, I don’t remember anything before that. For years until 1976 I lived off stories of the Babes, the greatness of Charlton Law Best and Edwards. The TV was black and white and there were no Premier League years to reminisce on. I watched the fading glory of the three greatest players of the era. I watched Charlton retire, Law go to City, I was there when Law backheeled in 74, I was there one day to see Georgie walk on the pitch. It was all downhill, yet my late brother assured me things would get better. I trusted him like your lad will trust you. It was a badge of honour to support when we were garbage, to live through times when City and Liverpool were better. Keep the faith and he will.

Beck's I can't get my head around you hadn't a TV untill 1998,
Now I know things can be hard for some families and I can identify with that, and I'm not in any way judging you or anyone i'm not in to that sort of things.
By the way I remember watching that goal like it was yesterday, you just knew a good player had to come out of that moment.

Great stories! Mine is less interesting but still my story. I was about 11 years (93/ 94) when going for a long drive with my folks and the radio station was tuned into a Utd game. Had no idea who we were playing and all i knew about Utd was it is a football team. All i kept hearing on the radio was Keane this and Keane that (wins the ball, what a tackle etc) and then a name i found funny at that age, 'Butt gets the ball' 'what a pass by Butt'. Utd won the match dominantly and I started asking my folks about utd during that drive but they were not of much help, so i started reading about the team, watching highlights of matches because we hardly ever got live games at that time in my neck of the woods. But i will never forget that radio commentary and how that got me hooked to this great team!

I think it's because his team let Lukaku score against them.
Now I don't even care about the table anymore. I just want to see if these same players can perform better under some other manager at United. The players look confused about their role whether they should press or sit back.

Some of these players didn't perform under moyes or van gaal and haven't under Jose. What makes you think they will under another manager.

CSM it’s a combination of both the players and the manager. Not saying Jose is right but in your eyes everything is jose’s Fault. The vast majority agree that Jose is not performing at all but your agenda is personal. At least attempt to be objective instead of blaming every single thing on the manager. It’s not jose’s Fault that pogba keeps losing the ball in dangerous areas and then saunters around the pitch expecting others to win it back. There comes a point where the players have to take a real hard look at themselves and take responsibility for their lack of effort and desire. Yes Jose is at fault for continuously playing matic, smalling and mctominay whilst the likes of fred pereira and bailly don’t get a sniff. But some of these players need to take ownership because they have failed under more than one manager.

C'mon park Unai Emery has been at Arsenal for well over 5 months now and he's already shown clear identity and a fantastic style of play, something Jose Mourinho has failed at in 3 years at Man United lol.

Angel if manager keeps picking matic ahead of everyone else, keeps picking Lukaku over other, keeps picking smalling and jones ahead of his own signings. There comes a point where poor performance isn't player's fault anymore. It is the manager's blindness that's the problem.

Park we are 8th with a negative good and are miles off top position, while I see mourinho's counterparts managing to improve likes of delph and henderson mourinho has managed to get even ddg to regress a little. It is not all his fault but nearly 90% is his, name 1 player he has improved for us, just 1. 400mn spent and your most successful signing was a free agent. rubbish performances and unwanted records that even moyes failed to break being broken.

Players are to an extent at fault but why are the same players who look pathetic for us look good for their NT's and it isn't just 1 player. Pogba seems to play well for france so does lukaku yet they look hopeless at utd. Maybe it is down to the team that surrounds them yet the same phenomenon seems to repeat itself with lingard and rashford too both look miles better in the english shirt than they do in ours, is England a worldclass team filled with worldclass talent.

When an individual underperforms maybe the individual is at fault, but when everyone under the manager underperform i don't see a point in blaming the players.

Course we can blame players. Half of them either aren't good enough or don't try. And that's been the same under 3 managers. I want Jose gone but its simplistic to lay all the blame on one person.

Again Mort what half? Right now only smalling, Jones, young, Valencia and ddg remain off those who played under all 3. Mourinho chooses to play smalling and Jones ahead of his own signing, only 1 of young or valencia plays unless shaw is unavailable. Also out of smalling and Jones only smalling can be considered a regular starter, are they the reason why we are where we are.

If you both read any of my previous posts You will see I want Jose gone and have praised the likes of emery on the great impact he has made in a such short time. All I’m simply saying is the players are to blame as well. They don’t deserve to had a free ride and for the manager to take all the blame. But yes Jose is a massive issue and he needs to go.

Pereira, Lingard, Rashford (though not initially in the first team until LVG) McTominay we’re all at the club.
Shaw, Fellaini, Mata, Rojo, all arrived in 2014.
So it’s more than just 5 players.
