Yeh thats right Herbie, now its 'draw a line under it Blair'....

It wasnt like that when the headline news for 3 days was about an LFC fan doing the same thing. United fan does it and guess what the UK press say ? NOTHING, ZILCH, DIDDLY SQUAT, NIL, NICHT, NEIN, ZERO

Guys we are not paranoid but the clear thinkers amongst you have to accept that the UK press do go extremely easy on United ( to say the least )

These tablets just dont seem to work any more nurse...... you said they would make me feel happy and not think about Fergie.... any more cocoa?

Tel 1949

The same press that have targeted David de Gea since United signed him? The same press that spread rumours about Rooney being constantly arguing with Fergie? The same press who make up stories about youth players rejecting contracts?

Tel, you're a donkey.

I don't think we need a left back as i feel this would block Fryers and i can't see us moving Evra on in the summer. Fryers has had more games than Cleverley so far so i see him as having a much bigger role next season with Evra and him battling it out with Fabio and Evans also able to cover there.

Valencia's form is causing a issue for me, Nani doesn't do well on the left and is a similar type of player as Young(although much better) and his role on the right looks like it'll be limited. I feel we need a Left winger to add balance to the quality we have on the right in Valencia. So where does that leave Nani? I think his time has sadly come to an end with us, it's well known that Sir Alex was prepared to let him leave last summer but he didn't want to. I think his departure could also provide the money to improve the areas we need.
We have two great right wingers but we can't play them both at the same time so it makes more sense to sell one of them to improve the first team and have a stronger first team as i don't think a huge amount of money will be forth comming from the owners.

IF we sold Nani we'd get 25-30m for him and seeing as we'll get very little from selling any of our fringe players it may be needed to raise funds. Kusczcak Owen and possibly Berbatov(we may not activate the extension) could leave for nothing which leaves just Macheda and Park who could leave for any real money maybe making 10m between them, other than that it'll be youth/reserve players like De Laet Norwood James and King who would only add a million or two to the pile, Scholes and Giggs could retire but that won't provide us any funds to spend.
Evans won't go as we need him as cover and we'd have to spend more replacing him then we'd get from selling him, Evra is vice captain and won't be leaving, the Twins are also unlikely to go, Carrick is a vital midfielder for us, Young only signed last summer, Welbeck Hernandez and Rooney are vital strikers for us so won't be leaving, Rio is a leader and would only get 5-7m tops for a injury prone 33yo anyway but he's needed, which only really leaves Anderson as the only other option to sell which is unlikely as we are short of midfielder and on form he is quality but either way we aren't likely to get much for him if we sold him. So the best and only way to help raise some funds would be to sell Nani. I'd rather keep him but the reality is he's likely to go.

Who i'd like to see come in is:

Kevin Strootman- he is an amazing up and coming player who will be one of the best midfielder around in a year or two and would complement what we have perfectly.

Jordi Alba- now here's the interesting thing i don't want him as a left back but as a left winger who could offer cover at LB, In a year or two's time Evra will leave and Fryers will take over as LB but it would be great to have a player like Alba playing infront of him to offer him protection as he grows into the team. Alba is best going forward and his forward play is excellent and he's able defensively. Another option could be Fabio Contrao.

Patrico Rodriguez- would offer cover on the right and would be a suitable replacement for Nani in the squad, plus he'll be cheap on fee and wages.

Ricky Van Wolfswinkel- a great and versitile forward who would add alot to our attack and would be reasonably priced.

Let me know what you think.

Yesterday I posted about Petrucci being an interesting player when watching the reserves.

I also saw something in Barmby when watching the youth, good left foot at a time when we are short of someone with one. He is scoring goals but looks physically stronger than others and again an interesting left foot with good balance.

Read this ladies

"Howard Hobson of Manchester is accused of a racially aggravated public order offence and using threatening words or behavior to cause harassment, alarm or distress.
The 57-year-old fan was arrested at Old Trafford on Tuesday after a spectator who heard the comments complained to stewards. Hobson is to appear at Trafford Magistrates' Court on Wednesday"

I just wanted you to show you, we all have idiotic fans. And they do not represent, the majority.

I really hope Rio is fit for the Euro's and gets selected, just to watch that low life Terry squirm. I know Rio does'nt want to be captain, but how good would it be if he did* rubs hands* Terry is a low life but he's a cocky low life so the fa will look after him.

I think a few on here are calling for a new fullback, but i disagree. We have for right back Rafael, Fabio, Smalling, Jones and Valencia for that position. So therefore i think an established right back is unnecessary, it will be an important position for Jones i think to get game time as well.

Left back may be slightly weaker, Evra and Fabio will be around for a while yet i think, but Fryers may be off. If Fryers does leave then i can see one and only one youngster come in.

One of Clyne or Fofana are the best bet, but as we have seen with the signing of the youngster from City that SAF always has something up his sleeve.

Just looked at Chelsea's squad for Sunday, I never realised how small their squad was. If they ever have the injuries that we have got they will slide down the league table pretty quickly. There is no John Terry for tomorrow, no Ramires, no Mikel, no Ca$hley and possibly no Lampard. So it could be a good time to play them. I am looking forward to attacking Bosingwa, Ivanovic, Luiz & Cahill as all are bad culprits for fouling. Valencia, Rooney & Nani could have a field day, Young is great at drawing fouls too. We need out defence to play well Sunday, if they keep a clean-sheet then we win comfortably.

This is from the Times.

Arsenal are rivaling Manchester United for Benfica midfielder Javi Garcia.

An approach from United to sign the 24-year-old in the final days of the transfer window was rejected, but it has been reported he will move to Old Trafford this summer instead.

Do any of the Ed's know if we actually made an approach in Jan?

Would prefer Martinez or M'Vila but Garcia would be a good signing.

''all these youth players looking 2 leave man utd. Do they not realise it is a step down .Just ask beckham and r.v.n.''

I would'nt call playing for 9 time european champions along side world-class players for big wages a 'step down', especially not now when they are about to reclaim the la liga crown and are second favourites for the champions league.
Objectively, i would say madrid and barca are the only 'step-ups'. Clubs like bayern, chelsea, AC milan would be a lateral move. All other clubs would be a step down.
But what i dont get is how these youth players are coming to the conclusion that leaving united for championship sides is a good move.
I mean, most of these kids are english, and english players usually fail to adapt to other leagues. Therefore, we can rule out a move to other big european sides. Other than progba, the best these other kids can hope for if they leave united now, is a move to a top premier league club in the future. This brings them right back to united IF they are lucky and exceptional.
So why leave in the first place?

Some amazing news lads. Cleverley, Nani, Rooney & Young all return to the squad to play Chelsea. Cleverley is unlikely to play until Monday when we play Chelsea in the reserves, but the four of them have been training for the past couple of days. DDG also returns, but Amos could keep his place.
