2 poor and not at all united esc performances is not the end of the world and doesnt mean that fergie is a waste of space. You are forgetting that tottenham arsenal and chelsea arguably all have as good if not better squads than ours this year yet we are still second in the league!? Thats due to fergie! Never slate the best manager in history... We WILL bounce back! Agreed signings are needed and they probably wont happen but we will still be playing champions league football next year and players will be signed in the summer!

In fairness, this dramatic dip in our form has becoming since the summer that Ronaldo and Tevez left. Never replaced either of them, nor did we/ have we replaced Scholes and Keane. SAF needs to sort out the younger players too. If they're good enough, give them a chance ( I mean, christ, could Pogba have played worse than Giggs tonight?!) or if not send them out on loan. Sitting them on the bench or playing them in the reserves is pointless. If we don't buy anyone in January, it could be our first trophyless season in a while. Go and get Sneijder, SAF, pay him ridiculous wages, you'll get the money back if we win trophies! Having said that, injuries have played a part this season, you've just got to look at all the red next to our players names on the fantasy league site!

In all fairness how much worse could Pogba and Morrison do ?
The answer is obvious they couldnt...they, unlike some players in the team are talented energetic creative and can do something a bit special every now and again.
Dont give me SAF looks at them everyday b****cks I look at United every week and I dont need a coaching badge to see with my own two eyes that some players getting a run are not up to it and offer little or nothing to a team supposedly going for a title.
If we are too tight stubborn or stupid to spend money then give these young guys a chance let them show what they can do and it would not ruin them even if we were losing games they would get plaudits cause they have quality and it would be there for all to see.
The problem is our run of fixtures coming up are tough but hey we have f##ked enough up already this season so giving the kids a chance now wont make much difference there.

if you are going to slaughter Sir Alex and the team leave your name don't be a coward so I know who you all are and who's face to rub it in when he turns it around. You know me you know my politics about the money being taken out of my club. It doesn't always make me very popular but I always give my name and stand by it. Unfortunately i have been proved right. So don't be nameless out there you keyboard experts who know so much more than Sir Alex leave us your name. RAINFISHTROMBONE

Well tonight was awful. Once again I reiterate that our problem isn't only with our players but the tactics as well. How often do we sit off teams and allow them time? There is no urgency at all to get the ball back and no leadership at all. Some of the subs really were strange and also why players are always playing in positions that aren't their best.

We really need to buy a couple of players in Jan and we also badly need a no2 who is tactically aware because as great a manager as Fergie is his tactics in the last couple of years haven't been great.

I have to ask myself how long have some of you been watching United. We lost two games in a row, get over it. The rubbish i am reading on this site especially about Sir Alex I just can't believe it. Lets get some things right, Sir Alex didn't lie to Rooney, he just gave him the extra money he was after and that did the trick. He has and always will have faith in any players he sends out in a red shirt that they will do a job for him and lets face it most of the time they do. Take a long look at yourself we lose a couple of games and you turn on the team and the manager. Of course there are players that i believe are not good enough to wear the Red shirt, but does Sir Alex know better than me? of course he does. You want to know the reason that people like Blaire maine and his boyfriends are so bitter and celebrating on this site at the slightest sign of defeat because that man Sir Alex rubbed their face in the s**t again and again. He made us the dominant team in England over the last twenty years. Oh poor you so you are hurting a little bit because we lost a game well let me tell you he is hurting a lot more and he will do something about it, he always have. When will you lot ever learn alright so this season it is City in the past it has been Blackburn Arsenal Chelsea. He's seen them come and he's seen them go and every time idiots like you lot say he's lost the plot and its time for him to go. The man has earned our complete unquestioning support he has given us riches we could only dream of. We have been world champions twice yes thats right twice no English team (Liverpool in their pomp) ever became world champions and we have done it twice. We have dominated the premier league and won the FA Cup more than anybody and so we lose two games in a row and you Maggots come on here and start bitch whinging about his tactics or team selection. You are just giving those scouse loving kn*bs what they want. Does the word United not mean anything to you. Believe. RAINFISHTROMBONE

Tonight again highlighted for me the need for not 1 but 2 cm's, we are all crying out for Cleverley to come back but the lad has only played 5/6 games for us, unfair expectations on him. I for one find it embarassing that both Tiote and Cabaye would walk straight into our team, this should never be the case and whether its Fergie's reluctance to spend the cash or none being made available something needs to change now and players HAVE to be brought in.

January really now is a crucial match for us. We need a backlash against City and maybe the loss could be a blessing in disguise. A touch too optimistic perhaps.

I do fear however looking at the big fixtures this second half of the season. We face Spurs, Chelsea, Arsenal and City all away in the league. City face Chelsea, Spurs and us at home, having already beaten Liverpool. Considering city dropped two points the whole of 2011 at home, it is slightly concerning. Lets hope 2012 changes.

Bebe and Diouf cost almost the same as Ba and Cabaye...

Maybe the right player will never available for us and we may not win anything for the next 3 years looking for the one... Carp, carp.

As some stupid people who find positive in everything say. The positive thing was to see Fergie seated ashamed and helpless. If this will help to bring down his ego, I'll very happy in fact. tonight was a disgrace, how giggs stayed on so long god knows, rio looks a shadow of his former self, ba dominated him, need top class striker ,centre midfielder and centre half, subotic from dortmund, sneijder, gaitan (i know he plays primarily as a winger but is as effective in the centre) or eriksen from ajax, up top ricky van wolfsinkel as a keen eye for goals snap him up now before his price explodes if not hulk is interested in leavin porto his price could be a problem! also give pogba and morrison a chance, i wudnt mind losing if it was with young players who would benefit from the experience, come on fergie get rid of the deadwood and let youth bring us back to the top

Wow....

Looking at our next 8 games.....

we have:

CITY
Bolton
ARSENAL
Stoke
CHELSEA
LIVERPOOL
AJAX
AJAX

We need to sign a couple of players and get the other unfit players fit and fast.....

the Chelsea game is the first one after the window shuts and we have got to have a better match day squad in place by then, weather it is due to signings or players coming back from injury.....

we need a settled back 5......

leave De Gea in goal and build his confidence up....

RAF
SMALLING
JONES
EVRA

Rio looked slow..... velencia is not a full back and evans is not good enough to start.... we all know we need a left back but unless we buy one (ALBA PLEASE) then it has to be evra at this point... I like fryers but there are some big games coming up so evra just gets the nod.

I would have 3 in middle.....

Carrick
Anderson
Cleverly

or if we did splase the cash

Martinez
Eriksen / Ganso/Gotze/Snieder
Cleverly

and 3 upfront

Nani
Rooney
Young

or

Nani
Rooney
Hazard (again with the cash)....

this would give us either of these 2 teams/squads........

De Gea

Raf
Jones
Smalling
Evra

Carrick
Anderson
Cleverly

Nani
Rooney
Young

Subs: Lindengard, Fryers, Evans, Pogba, Morrison, Wellbeck, Herdandez

or if the GODS answer my prays........

De Gea

Raf
Smalling
Jones
Alba

Martinez
Ericksen
Cleverly

Nani
Rooney
Hazard

Subs: Lindengard, Fryers, Evans, Pogba, Anderson, Young, Wellbeck,

for now just have to bite the bullet and put up with some s**t until this is sorted

all this s**t about the glaziers not handing over money, how much did senile spend in the summer £50 -£60 million so stop talking s**t. Fergie either hasnt got a clue or he cannot draw the big players to sign,. Remember Robinho, Ronaldinho, Ozil, Sanchez, Mikel, Nasri, Silva, and Sneijder, Fact is even winning and apperaing in 2 other ECL finals and Fergie still cant entice the top player. One word Mourinho is the future a class manager who all the best players in the world want o play for, not some senile old geriatric. Carlos Quiroez turned united around when he waas here which Fergie admits introducing new training styles. Time to go cheers Fergie but since beckham and co have come through the ranks u have achieved nothing

Awful, I can't actually pick a single player who played well. We had absolutely 0 chances or belief we could score. Even before it was cleared off the line I had no confidence that it would be going in. I'm just besides myself in the nature of the defeat, I'm going to go to bed and wake up hopefully moving forward from this but I'm not counting on it.

Somebody said once: "We usually do good after Christmas..."

Whats good? Give up the Pl to City or Spurs?
To be honest only a miracle will give us the crown in the end of the season.

We've to Play at Emirates, Stanford, White Heart Line and finally at our Rival... God bless.

When Rooney said that we lack on ambition and this squad wasn't good enough to fight with big teams SAF lied to him promising good and World class players but we're stuck where we were last year.

Creativity-?
Passion-?
Desire to win-?
and goes counting...

We're shameless and the worst thing are the excuses used to justify every time we loose a game.

The pitch was good.

Can't believe I've just witnessed the completion of the decline of my beloved Manchester United. OK we are not exactly plummeting down the table, yet, but this is against a side who haven't got much in the way of class but were prepared to put in a bit of effort and we couldn't or didn't fancy competing against that. I don't think our dear manager has ever put out a team so bereft of belief in themselves and their team mates. He keeps spouting about "if the right player became available". But other clubs can make players suddenly become available when they, their agents and the clubs they play for get the sniff of money.
And apparently we have lots.
Come on SAF, you can't kid all the people all the time, so if you want to build another great team before you finally call it a day start making some noises around the players you must have identified as
"being able to make a difference".

Our gameplay has become so predictable, there is a constant pattern developing. We get so many chances to send the ball through the middle, and end up slowing the game, looking for the wings and ending with a nothing cross. no creativity, no spark. Fergie needs to buy, but he wont.

This game highlighted just about everything that is wrong with the current team IMO. 1) Berbatov. It doesn't matter how well he does against the Wigan's and the Blackburn's of this world, at OT, he's never been effective in games like this. He shouldn't have been picked tonight. He kills any kind of tempo the rest of the team builds up, and his work-rate was unsurprisingly poor. 2) The old, tired midfield. What can I say that's not already been said a thousand times? Isn't it depressing that a 38 year old ex-winger, is currently the most creative CM on the books at United. A make-over is needed. 3) The ever changing back four. Valencia has hit a good run of form on the wing, yet he was shifted to RB tonight. Ferdinand started the season at RCB, then he was moved to LCB, now he's back to RCB? Evra, the only defender to keep himself fit, has had a shocking 2 years with no signs of improvement. 4) The over reliance on Rooney and Nani. United don't play well unless these two perform, as we saw tonight. Rooney, in particular, had an absolute shocker.

I cannot believe our confidence has gone again. We waited months for it to return, we finally get it back with a settled back four, then BANG! we lose all of our confidence and start conceding goals again. The difference between now and last time we were conceding goals is that we were scoring loads ourselves, that is not the case this time. Our attack and defence is poor at the moment and needs to sort itself out quickly. I would never give up on the title or FA Cup, but I think this season we should be using it to blood the youth. Finish bringing in the players we need in the summer, then kick on from there.

Happy New Year Guyz!
All I can say it's all happening again! Back in the 70's when Sir Matt Busby was close to retiring MUFC played awful soccer with Busby trusting players who were old, past it and some not United quality. Fast forward around 40 years later Sir Alex Ferguson is doing the same the likes of Rio and Giggs are past it should retire latest by the beginning of next season, other such as Park, Gibson, Kuszcack, Diouf, Owen, Berbatov are not United quality. One more thing playing players out of position is really costing us and imho Jones best position is in CM. In the next two windows Fergie should go out for RB, LB, 2CB's, 2CM's, LW/LF, a big powerful CF like Ba and finally an ASSISTANT MANAGER like Quieroz.
You have to wonder what SAF means by 'no value in the market' and 'sticking plaster' signings. What happened to SAF who slated owners for lack of funds or has the man bottled it. If the current MUFC board think we need no signings this window the something is wrong. END OF RANT!!

Well, that was hard to watch, and I don't just mean the faulty stream. United were terrible, but I'm not going to go over board and say "Fergie out". I'm just going to suggest that we look at a few more players to bolster the team. Maybe promote some of the youth.

Jones made a mistake, should we sell him as well? Being serious, we should not play him at CB, play him at RB or CM, his positioning isn't good enough.

I'm going to say we should go for Eden Hazard (I know, unlikely), or someone similarly talented at dribbling the ball, Marvin Martin and Sven Bender. Maybe Chris Samba as well. I think we could do with those signings but don't actually really need them.

why are we always playing players out of position!

if SAF actually pulled his finger out, actually his whole arm and stopped being stubborn and bought some decent players that will play in their natural position then we might actually do well.

SAF managerial skills should be questioned, if this was wenger, mourinho or guardiola then they would be slated like hell.

i thought no man was bigger than manchester united, well turns out SAF is...sorry to say this but your time is up SAF. too old and doesn't look bothered. hate saying it but so true.

We definitely need something in midfield. Losing possession, nothing going forward. Giggs is a legend but is nothing like what he was and should retire at the top.
Rafael should have played RB, freeing up Valencia on the right where he's been fantastic and then play Nani on the left where he has the ability to cut in.
Anderson I thought showed he's worth a try against Blackburn and I definitely would've chosen him over Park.
Wrong team selection by Fergie, he needs to invest in the market.

united need something new a striker and two midfielders in my opinion jones will never be a centre half he should play midfield. rooney and nani supposed to be the main men but are very inconsistant especially nani. hernandez has suddenly become useless the only good point were his goals not scoring anymore he adds nothing to general play at all and is just constantly offside. i know this is a bit of a rant but the united i love to watch has suddenly disappeared. i think ferguson often gets his tactics wrong plus he spent money in wrong areas it was apparent to absolutely everyone that united needed a midfielder and he doesnt buy one. if no one comes in this january i think it will be a trophyless season we have to beat city on sunday otherwise i dont think we will win anything. SAF no longer has faith in youngsters dont no why but it makes convincing young players to stay or move to united more challenging. we should try tempting benzema and kaka from madrid by using rooney and get sneijder by using nani and spend money on hazard i no that sounds impossible but if we did that we would be amazing i think rooney is a world class player but i think us united fans over rate him.

How long are we gonna keep saying Fergie knows best when we miss out on quality players and when we as one of the biggest clubs in the world "will not be held ransom" to Wages. I dont care about Value in the market, everybody knows player prices are quite ridiculous nowadays but WHY dont we pay them like Madrid, Barca etc. ? We're Manchester United ffs!

Dreadful performance tonight. Just seen Jones put it in his own net and can't watch any more.

I feel like every single player had a poor game apart from maybe Rio who was decent in parts. Midfield was nowhere to be seen. If you watch the 4 midfielders for Newcastle they were in our face as soon as we had the ball compared to ours where I quite literally thought they had disappeared. I think our width really cost us. We were practically playing with 2 in the middle compared to their 4 and we just couldn't gain control.

Nani of late has been our spearhead but he didn't get the ball enough and when he did there were always 2 players surrounding him.

I have to say that often when a top team loses unexpectedly to a less good side it is usually the case that the losing team has hit the post several times and generally been very unlucky. That was certainly not the case today. Apart from Simpson clearing of the line we hardly threatened Krul's goal. We were awful.

I also think we are paying the price for our injuries. Not having a permanent back 4 is costing us big time and the injured Cleverly certainly isn't helping us.

This isn't a knee-jerk reaction but I feel SAF really has to think about dipping into the transfer window for some sort of midfielder be that a defensive one such as M'vila/Martinez (the latter who can also play CB I beleve?) allowing someone like Ando to push forward or more of an attacking one and allowing someone like Carrick to protect the back 4. Whether that will happen is a different matter but we will have to see.

I really do believe that getting a result against City on Sunday is a must.

Credit to Newcastle though, they played very well.

I know we are missing the best defender in the league but what we have left should be better than that......

shocking.....

fergie needs to get them sorted and quick, and I would start with Rooney.... he just does not look like the player he was..... and I can understand why (a little) if promises were made when he signed his new contract which are just not happening.......

Maybe the recent slip ups are not caused by the Glazers or Sir Alex. Watching Newcastle this game, their team fights for each other, they're showing heart and passion for each other. Where is the passion from our squad? Where is the heart, urgency, and pride?

I think the main difference between this season and seasons past, is that there are no leaders in the dressing room. We lost Scholes, Van der Sar, and Neville last season. These players genuinely wanted to wear the United shirt every game, they played for each other rather than money and fame. There is no visible leader, and buying someone in January isn't going to solve the problem. We need players who are ready to kill to wear the United crest. I'm not saying that the entire squad is at fault, but there has to be unrest in the dressing room.

Sure, we have loads of talent and some may argue "look at city, they've bought success", but City are much more talented across the board than we are. Plus, i believe, even though they will probably win the league this year unless we get out sh*t together, that their squad will become unrested and the wheels will fall off of their squad.

I love United just as much as anyone and I'm gutted by the shocking results of this season, but i do not believe it is any one person's fault, but a culmination of many different reasons.

But, we are United, the season is not lost, and Fergie needs to sit the squad down and have a heart to heart with everyone. He needs to get that fire back in everyone's eye and to put passion back in their hearts. I fully trust in Sir Alex and believe that our squad will fully rebound from this rough winter.

I never thought I'd ever say this but I think Alex Fergusons time is up, if he doesnt sign 2 players in this transfer window then you can only feel that he has given up any hope of winning the title. I think the only thing that can stop the rot is if there are big plans for a massive clearout in the summer but I fear thats not going to happen, and whats more worrying is that I think Rooney might leave which leaves us at the point of no return. If Alex Ferguson thinks this squad are world beaters then I think he needs to bow out before he becomes a figure of ridicule and that is just astonishing!

We were played off the park in the CL final and we should have got rid of the deadwood and brought in players who would challenge Barca again but what do we get instead? a team who were played off the park by Basle

And now we have been beaten by Newcastle and Blackburn in a week, this cant go on any longer, He needs to buck up or ship out cos its becoming embarassing

If for arguments sake the yanks are giving him the funds then what is going on? Why are the right players not being brought in.im going to stop now because my blood pressure is starting to soar.ive supported united 36 years almost and whats happening now disgusts me to my core.everyone is entitled to their opinion but i think, whether you agree with me or not that the supporters deserve to know the truth about the glazers and if saf is willing to stand by and let them ruin this great football club then he is not the great man i thought he was.finally if its not down to them then there are serious questions that need asking about the whole football end of things, the players, coaching staff and saf himself.sorry for the rant but i had to get it off my chest.all opinions are welcome.

Hi guys,

Just wondering what the general view towards Welbeck, Hernandez and Berbatov is? From an outsider point of view i don't think Hernandez offers you that much apart from his goals, and if they dry up i cant see the point in him playing. Watching him tonight he seems to lose the ball a lot and his first touch doesn't look great, but from an outsiders point of view he seems like a cult hero? Welbeck seems a bit hit and miss, sometimes looks great but other times can look very average. For me Berbatov should be playing every week, he has the ability to change a game with a great touch or pass and offers a lot more than the previous two, but again from an outsiders point of view it seems that many fans like/rate him? Obviously i don't know so just wondering to be honest. Is any of what i said right or just rubbish?

Not being a person who panics, but I am seriously starting to get worried now. Am sat watching another awful display from united, especially in midfield, and I feel so sorry for Carrick. Working hard but basically 1 against 3 at times. When is SAF going to work out that Giggs is now definately past his prime, to many short passes, pace gone, final ball lacking. Were beaten by a, let's be honest, very average Newcastle side, Tiote is just a hod carrier. When is Ferguson going to realise we need a central defender, right back and 2 midfielders. Creative and a "Essien" if you like. I know we have so much to love Sir Alex for, but is it time to start actually being a bit critical for being a bit to stubborn in not noticing what thousands of fans can see?? Time to put away the "no value" B.S that he trotts out, and prove we can compete.

Nani: bad crossing

There were so many chances to send the through ball down the middle,, but we continuously end up playing the wings with no end product. Midfield need tp hold the ball. Im sure the hair dryer will be out at half time. Expecting an improved performance.

Cannot watch that s**t anymore, struggle against the poorest of teams time and time again if pogba or morrison cannot get a game ahead of park or giggs they cant be any good at all. The rest of the s**t are dragging Rooney down hes gone from world class to poor due to the crap around him. Can u blame him when hes pulling his boots on in the changing room and he looks up and sees, berbatov, giggs park, evans, young, wellbeck. anderson, carrick. Not one of them would get in the Barca, Madrid, any Milan, Bayern, City, Chelsea, Juve sides yet they turn out regularly for united. Its fergies fault the team are in this position everyon knew we needed some creative central midfielders for a couple of years and he done nothng about it. Why would u give him any money to spend anyway when his record in the transfer market is terrible. Before people start everyone knew rooney and ferdinand were class at the time and he still paid top dollar and Ronaldo was Quiroz's doing. Look at Veron, Djemba Djemba, emmerson, Barthez, Berbatov. played 5
clean sheets 5
shots saved, that were on target, (%) 100%
catches made (%) 100%

doesn't matter what 5 teams he has played against (in the epl) that is a very very good record and IMO he should be given more time as number 1 whilst he is in this sort of form.

Will we ever see Pogba or morrison ..

Some things i've found written about morrison ..

He is beautifully balanced, blessed with a searing turn of pace and strength of shot on either foot. Morrison’s vision, close control, physical dexterity and unerring opportunism remind me of David Villa

powerful young footballer who can play in midfield, on the left wing and off the main striker, he has the ability to make it one day in the United first team – and he might just be in contention for a Carling Cup place next season.

He certainly has all the natural attributes of strength and pace. Once Morrison gets his chance for United he will face inevitable comparisons with the likes of Ryan Giggs but there are plenty who feel he has what it takes.

His obvious strength is his style of play. He possesses skills but he enjoys teasing opposition players by giving them half a chance to get close or win the ball. He is quick but has a very handy sudden burst of pace that he uses to skip away from players having drawn them in with his lazy style. He plays with a very nonchalant attitude, he rarely looks like he is in a hurry but he is able to spring counter attacks so quickly he excels when it comes to passing. He has a superb range and plays with his head up often trying balls that don’t appear to be possible. He’s always looking and calling for the ball so he can control the tempo of the game. He’s not afraid to shoot and has found the net from long range on a few occasions. Although he sits deep he times his runs into the opposition penalty area very well and is particularly good at halting a run to find space just on the edge of the area. Finally he has a good physique. He is still young and will have a lot of physical development to go but over the summer he looks to have broadened and added some muscle to his frame.

Ravel’s skills bring to mind Cristiano Ronaldo, as he’s known to produce sublime moments of magic suddenly from nothing. He is capable of playing down either wing, as a striker or as an attacking midfielder behind the striker. He has pace to burn and is known to have a party trick.

These are some of the things written about him .. My goodness a blind man can see we are crying out in the middle ..

WILL WE EVER SEE HIM ..... And POGBA ..?

I dont believe SAF will look for a Temp Centre Back until the end of the season he will make do with what we have, but I wouldnt be surprised to see a CM player coming in this month. You only have to look at the number of midfielders we are currently short. I am sure SAF would have liked to have hung it out until the summer using Cleverley but with his injury and after being knocked out of the CL the Premiership is more important than ever we need a midfielder that would hit the ground running. I cant say there has been any real firm clues as to who it would be but with SAF statement it can only be a world class player or no one at all and I am sorry I love United but if we dont sign someone this month I think we wont win sod all this season.

Sources in Portugal have revealed to Sportsmail that Mendes has been paid 20 per cent of the fee after originally helping Porto buy the "new Ronaldinho" from Brazilian club Gremio in 2006.

It is understood that Mendes contributed 20 per cent of the £3.75m Porto paid Gremio and until recently still effectively "owned" a fifth of the player.

But Anderson's switch to United — still to be ratified by the Home Office and subject to the medical — has seen that arrangement come to an end with Mendes now being paid by Porto in full.

The payment is not irregular or suspicious but Mendes' role in Anderson's transfer and the £14m arrival of Portugal winger Nani from Sporting Lisbon serves to indicate the growing influence the Oporto-based agent now has in the Premiership.

Already responsible for Cristiano Ronaldo's presence at United and Mourinho's tenure at Chelsea, Mendes' roster also boasts the likes of Stamford Bridge defender Ricardo Carvalho and Portsmouth midfielder Pedro Mendes.

United are aware that their new signing will fail in his bid to receive a work permit — he is not an established international — but are confident this decision will be overturned on appeal.

Assistant manager Carlos Queiroz played a large part in negotiations for Anderson and Nani, 20, as he and chief executive David Gill spent a frantic day in Portugal on Wednesday.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson's No 2 believes the two new forwards will prove as successful at Old Trafford as Ronaldo.

Queiroz said: "Obviously we believe we are talking about two huge talents who will contribute greatly to the renovation we are undertaking in Manchester.

"Remember that the team only has four players in their thirties — Edwin van der Sar, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs.

"These signings are the fruit of a long and detailed tracking of both players, as well as others who were considered. The key was that they both fit the profile we want — young, talented and with enormous potential.

"It is really worth just stopping and imagining what an attack formed by Wayne Rooney, Cristiano Ronaldo, Nani and Anderson could do. They are players who blend creativity and magic into football.

"We are in a continuous process of renovation and these purchases are part of this process, with the aim of building a team for the next decade.

"We're going to do with Nani and Anderson what we did with Cristiano Ronaldo."

Just read this and couldn't stop laughing at the last bit, when are we selling anderson for 80million??

Rooney, Smalling & Ferdinand should return for tonight. Ferdinand had recovered from his back injury, but fell ill ahead of the Blackburn game. I think Evans maybe back too, I think he may have been back for the last game, but was dropped along with Rooney & Gibson? If these four are back then we are in good shape for tonight. Smalling at RB, Evans & Ferdinand at CB and Jones in midfield alongside Carrick. Nani & Valencia on the wings and Rooney and Berbatov upfront. Anderson, Hernandez & Welbeck on the bench. I think DDG will start and rightly so.

I just have this question with me for a long time... Whenever we are linked with some world class midfield players (not wingers), we generally don't end up signing them... Is it because we can't compete in the market or the midfield players do not prefer us bcos of our prominant wing play?

I don't think we have signed any world class center midfield players apart from Veron and Carrick (he may not be world class but a top quality player for us).

We missed out on many players like Essien, Obi Mikel (we signed then later he preferred chelsea, we were lucky though :)), Nasri and others...

There is a lot of debate about SAF's successor. Just wanted to put my point on the matter. Usually when managers change then along with them the whole backroom staff is changed. Wanted to ask you guys ( as I have no idea ) do the new managers change the scouts and other important members of the club staff?
If so then I dont see strong characters like Pep or Mourinho coming to United who will want to change the things drastically. Reason being half of the club scouts etc are SAF's relatives and friends and he have a big say in whose going to replace him. I rather see a person with good technical knowledge coming in who is not that much of a big personality. Maybe someone from within the club or some ex player.

Morning Everybody,

See Sneijder is signing before the end of Jan, are the Qatari's funding it I wonder. Same old Same old. Still fuming from New Years Day as you can imagine, left ourselves a right job tonight eh against the barcodes.

Tried to stay out of this because its a touchy subject, but how must they look this morning to the world of football. Firstly release a statement backing the bloke up to the hilt and look forward to seeing the report, even claiming if needs be to appeal to the ECHR. Wear T Shirts showing support.

Presented with the evidential report and then accept the ban claiming he is still innocent. Well you claimed he was and is still innocent so where is this taking it right to the Nth degree then. Credibility gone not only as a team but now as a Club.

Sometimes you have to have a common sense approach. Backing a bloke who has bitten opponents, cost Ghana a place in the WC semis through blatant cheating, and flicked a finger at Fulham fans the other week, come on. The only reason your club was able to afford him was because of the baggage that comes with him and none of the elite would touch him with a bargepole

You can understand us United fans allowing ourselves a wry smile this morning

These 2 months are very crucial for United.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Tottenham, City and L'pool (not sure abot them, though Suarez counts:P) would lose players due to African Cup.

Our competitors this season seem to be Spurs and s**tty.

Spurs shall lose Assou-ekotto(regular LB), bassong and pienaar. Adebayor (was news he'd be back for Togo, but idk much)

and City will lose the Toure bros. Although rumors have been circulating of signing De Rossi or Albiol. But I still feel Yaya is better than De Rossi and even settled in their team.

United:
Newcastle A (50:50, given they draw their far to often)
Bolton H (+3)
Arsenal A (50:50)
Stoke H (+3)
Chelsea (30:70, United rarely win at stanford bride)
Liverpool H (50:50)
Norwich A(+3)

I cannot see a better oppurtunity for United, playing against Chelsea (without Drogba or Anelka or Essien ), Arsenal (without Gervinho or Song) and L'pool (without Suarez and I hope Gerrard is injured before the game)

Arsenal even if they sign someone, it would be a richardson type squad player and L'pool always sign a s**tty striker like a Carroll,
though Chelsea could sign a Kaka or Hulk or Moutinho or some-one in the same brackets. So they seem the biggest match to me.

City:
Wigan A (3 points)
Spurs H (50:50)
Everton A (75:25)
Fulham H (3 points)
Villa A (3 points)
Blackburn H (3 points)
That makes minimum 15 points they should take and a lot of goal difference. Add 3 points vs L'pool.
That makes 18 at the end of February.

{Ed002's Note - You need to do a little research about the players. Take for example the Spurs players: You say they lose Assou-Ekotto -but he plays for Cameroon who did not qualify. Again you say they will lose Bassong, but again he plays for Cameroon who did not qualify. Pienaar you say will go - but he plays for South Africa, who did not qualify. Finally Adebayor, but he plays for Togo - and they did not qualify. Finally, hoping players of an another team are injured is an absolute no-no on this site. I never want to see you write such things again.}

Here's a shout! In the summer fergie should line up xherdan shiqiri, granit xhaka and strellar (excuse spellings and don't know strellars first name) strellar may be getting on a bit but he is a berbatov kid of player who has a bit more pace and is prepared to work for the team! He would contribute a few goals from the bench and could do the job againts minnows, like.... Wba, qpr and the might Liverpool! Jokes on that haha!but I believe he is a ready made replacement for berbatov, would come quite cheap 5-10million at most, secondly.. Granit xhaka! Saw him play against us he is a gem pace passing eye for goal good shot the midfield presence we are craving could come as little as 4 million! Will be a great player good prospect! Him and Javi martinez would be my ideal midfield signings! But hey I am not the great man! Lastly to Shiqiri! We all know he'll be a gem! Its just the way he's so call on the ball which attracts me giggs like.. Would be worth a bid at least! Good crosser strong in possession eye for goal too! Quite pacey for a muscular figure come around the 15-20million mark I'd say can also cover CAM I've heard! But predominantly I think he's an out an out winger! We will need one in the summer as I think nani will go abroad juventus is mt best bet! But these are predictions not fact! Be free to criticise and compliment! It is a rumours site after all...
