Rashford like kane could be back before the end of the season, maybe even by April. Let's hope the club don't rush him in order to boost our top 4 hopes and end up doing him long term damage.

Being selfish, I would prefer for him not to be back this season. If he makes it back he does for 2-3 games at most. But that would mean he would go to the Euro's. I would prefer for Rashford to have the summer off, fully recover and be ready for next season which will be a big one for us. Rather than him rush back, not be quite fit, get injured again and mess up his pre-season.

the rags stating the euros could be canceld due to this virus don't no if true or not.

I suppose they have to plan and have contingencies in place for the summer, but its a long way away until the euros. Who knows where we will be with the coronavirus by that stage.

I flew out of Dublin on early flight this morn to Poland.
Airport was half empty.
About 30% of passengers were wearing surgical masks which of course are useless unless your have the virus.
I can see both the euros and olympics being postponed if numbers of new cases spiral.

There will be lots of talk about them being cancelled. In hindsight the idea to host them across all of Europe seems even more stupid with the outbreak of Covid-19. With teams and probably close to 1 million fans moving all over Europe during a three week period must be a nightmare for trying to contain the virus.

That said, I can't see them cancelling an international tournament for the first time since the war for a virus. The money it would cost would be astronomical. It could literally bankrupt UEFA. The amount of lawsuits over lost revenue, reimbursement of costs incurred, in lost advertisement, loss of TV revenue, etc etc. It would run into billions.

For that reason alone I don't see them cancelling it. The worst I can see them doing is playing all the games behind closed doors.

For now its just the rags and their usual hyperbole.

Its actually not shappy and their would be no law suits you got to brush up on your legal knowledge. ( look up force majeure) It would come nowhere close to bankrupting uefa in any case.
Rags hyberbole.

I'm not sure UEFA will get much of a say about it. If Governments across Europe say its not happening then that will be the end of it.

Would Eufa not have insurance to cover possible cancellations.

Possibly but will have force majeure clause on all contracts its standard practise. Its no drama for uefa if postponed unlike some will have you believe.
Don't believe everything you read on here as people post without having the slightest clue about contracts and just get carried away with their imagination😂.

Good morning ED002, I know the whole Pogba saga has been done to death and the two main destinations for him seem to be Juventus or Real Madrid. however i was wondering if PSG have shown any interest in him? there's a lot of talk about neymar and mbappe both going in the summer, could that leave a huge superstar hole that they will look to fill?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Pogba is not a forward like Mbappe or Neymar - why would they want to replace them with Pogba?}

04 Mar 2020 13:16:17
Sorry I didn't mean a like for like replacement, I just meant in terms of star power. Losing both those would be a massive blow commercially is basically what I'm getting at. Pogba is a global figure and as well as being good on the pitch he's also very marketable.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No, it doesn't work like that.}

04 Mar 2020 14:37:50
Except Tim, Pogba is not very good on the pitch. He just thinks he is.

04 Mar 2020 14:59:15
If their looking for a jackass who thinks he's the worlds greatest social media player, sorry, footballer. Then Pogba might be able to step into Neymar's shoes. They are both equally deluded on their ability, despite them both being potentially the best players of their generation. Neither seem to have the focus or desire to actualise that ability on the pitch.

true MancMan, ed002 where do you envisage pogba will end up? i have a funny feeling it might be juventus, if their wage bill can handle it.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Yes, Juventus seems likely as Real Madrid are heading in another direction. Else he will run his contract down.}

04 Mar 2020 15:21:13
I would be more than happy to take a deal with Juventus that saw Pogba head to Turin and Rabiot head to United with a little cash heading our way. Then if recent rumours are to be believed (highly unlikely in my opinion) we could blow the rest of our budget on Sancho and Kane. Then have a midfield of Bruno, Rabiot and McTominay, with a front line of Sancho, Kane and Rashford. That would look pretty good heading into next season.

thanks ed002, enjoy the rest of your week.

{Ed002's Note - And you Tim.}

04 Mar 2020 16:15:09
Surley a loan move would be better than allowing him to run his contract down to at least save most of the wages.
Im sure a deal can be done on a permanent move if all sides are sensible.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - That is not going to happen - if the amateurs are going to play up then he will run it down.}

04 Mar 2020 16:32:33
Ed002 if its a case of him doing that if a sensible offer doesn't come in. If juve don't want to pay what united consider a fair price then its his prerogative to see out his contract as it would be United's to not play him.
Its a high risk and potentially costly strategy for both parties. I really hope that common sense prevails and we allow him to leave and recoup most of the money spent so we can reinvest.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - It is about the amateurs - nothing else.}
