So if we qualify tomorrow we can play either of these in the last 16:

Barcelona
Real Madrid
Inter Milan
Bayern Munich
Apoel Nicosia

I would take any of the bottom one, on a serious note I think Inter or obviously Apoel would be the better draws.

DDG has been on the short list for MUFC player of the month 3 times, winning the November POTM in his third go. Also, he has made 1 goal keeping error compared to Reina's 4 (Source: Opta). So to all those who are undecided on him, he must be doing something right!

Red Man

It depends on what you look at. I am talking about the fact we have won 4 of the last 5 prem titles and the one we did loose was by a point and if it wasnt for a dodgy offside goal at ot for chelsea we wud have won that

Im talking about the fact we have been in 3 of the last 4 finals of the champs league beaten only by what many say is the greatest club side of all time also take in to account we lost the one player in the world in ronaldo that cant be replaced.

As bad as our football has looked we have only been beaten twice this season and since the 6 - 1 been solid at the back in the league.

If the stats had been worse maybe we would have brought them players we all want but the team sorry the suad has done well over time and its a shame u dont have faith in fergie.

There is a reason he is being nominated and shortlisted for the top managerial award again with pep and jose nice company to keep aye?

if you dont appritaite what you see dont watch because the red army always marches on

Due to the fact Berb, Owen & Hernandez are all out injured, does anyone else think we should try a formation of 4 -3 -3?

_________carrick/Ravel/

I think this would be interesting to try out, as we'd have width down the wings with our RB's/LB's being more like wingers most the time anyways.
A solid yet creative midfield with Carrick acting as a CAM
and a scary front 3 as they could all swap around
(obviously only throw Mecheda on when we're winning 3-0 or something)

I wouldn't stick with this all season, but it would be a good way to change games and confuse opponents instead of them expecting wingers and no creativity all the time.

any thoughts?

Waiting for the barce game where 9 youngsters from la masia are set to start the match. 19 year old alcantara beeing one of the elders ( btw his brother is playing so kinda watchin out).. i just do not understand why united didnt win the 1st matches and is now sending their youth team for some experience. Really disappointed with ravel and pogba not beeing included and hoping we aint goana lose them anytime soon but i just wonder what they would be feeling when seeing a bunch of 16-18 year old kids start a champions league match , while they cant even make the squad. at least cole is there anyways...

Shame to see Berba injured for tomorrow I think we could have done with him on the pitch against Basle.
I suppose it will be out of form Wayne up front on his own. Shame that Carrick is suspended also he is playing so well at the moment and he really does get too much stick on here.
He would be my first choice in CM at the moment and when he goes forward more really proves what a good player he is.

I know fergie will defend his players to the bitter end....

but he has said this so much now..

"People say we're not doing well but we're second in the league and we can qualify for the last 16 of the Champions League tomorrow. Injuries haven't helped us this season but we have a STRONG SQUAD and the squad will see us through."

I actually think he believes it.. OH MY GOOD

I think Phil Jones is the next Roy Keane. He is better than Keane was at that age,

So guys who do you think were the best buys of the summer transfer window. Those who made significant impact. For me it would be:
1. Phil Jones (no need to explain)

2. Scott Parker( Came cheap and is doing a good job for spurs)

3. Jose Enrique (Whatever you may say but Liverpool got a very good player for so less)

4. Gervinho ( The more I see of him the more he impresses. Looks like a bargain for 10m)

5. Clichy (Doing a good job for city)

6. Aguero (Pricey but worth it)

7. Demba Ba (Newcastle would be so happy to get him)

8. Yakubu (Blackburn may not be enjoying in the league But he sure is enjoying his time at Blackburn)

So what do you guys think?

Eds i appreciate this is a rumour forum, however is there any way we can filter out the ridiculous stories such like the hernandez/di santo rumour, and the one more recently regarding Fergie discussing transfers with youth players. It's killing what could be a very good site!

How likely is it to sign rodwell this jan? i think he is the type of player needed to sort out our midfield. We dont really need an atm because we already have clevs and ando with morrison ( maybe even petrucci and matty james ) coming through the ranks so the likes of gotze ericksen sneijder ozil arent needed and wont probs be bought. Wheras we dont have a proper dmf apart from jones ( and it isnt really his preferred position ) and maybe tunicliff. Thats why i beleive a dmf will be brought in jan and i hope that saf gives a go for rodwell At only 20 and beeing considerd one of the most promising players england has to offer ( before his injury ) he would be a great buy. He looks like coming back to his full potential. i think in a few years time if we dont buy him he will be one of the best dmf in the world playing for chelsea or city. i hope that doesent happen and hopefully saf will be the one taking the best out of him. Any thoughts?

Nice to see somethings never change. Sydney is still defending the Glazers and pretending that everything is fine. I have got to give it to you Syd no matter how much those leaches take out of our club and no matter how much we cry out for quality players you still come on here and defend them saying everything is going to be ok. I hope those 30 pieces of silver sit well in your pocket. RAINFISHTROMBONE

Luck plays a very important part in football and right now I can see no other team more lucky than City. None of their players are injured while all other teams are dealing with injuries to their key players.
