City are about to announce naming rights for their stadium. And the FFP get arounds begin

If they end up calling it the Etihad Arena i will laugh my ****anks off, Etihad translates to Unity in arabic, but also loosely translates to UNITED, imagine that, The United Arena, Always in our shadows

Its a sad moment to see JOS leave, never really taught much of WB. With one of our most versatile players gone, i just hope we have someone else to fill in the blanks........

Ed do you think with these lads leaving, makes us belive that SAF is 100% certain of making another big signing and if so will the money be on a full back, Nasri or sneijder. {Ed002's Note - There will be a signing or two - but "big" is subjective.}

Why on earth do people keep throwing around all these 'player plus cash' deals that are supposedly all in the pipeline? How often does one of these deals actually happen? I can think of very few high-profile examples of players being used as part-exchange... I know it does happen, but come on...

*now watch this space as a series of high-profile player exchange deals go through this summer and I'm made to look a fool*

You know, I'm feeling sorry for AVB at Chelsea already. He's only been there a couple of weeks and Abramovich is already promoting Michael Emenalo over him to be Director of Football.

I really can't see things going well for AVB, which is a shame. Caught between Roman's little helper and John Terry... it scarcely bares thinking about.

Hi Guys
I would just like to wish John O'Shea and Wes all the best at their new club.Whatever people thought of them no-one can deny they gave us good service and very rarely let us down. The one thing that they can depend on is getting a good reception when they come to Old Trafford next season.

Hi Ed. What are the chances do you think of Ravel Morrison breaking into the first team next season with all the rumoured signings we are going to make. This kid is quality and surely fergie needs to start blooding him soon?

MUFC84 {Ed007's Note - Sorry but the youth team is not my speciality, but from the limited games I have seen he does look a great player. Other regulars would be able to help more about it}

Although We've lost a few players from a by gone great team we must also remember we're about to welcome in a new generation of players which will undoubtedly match the success of the previous generations.

Goodbye VDS, Scholes, Hargo, Neville, Wes and O'shea. Hello De Gea, Jones, Pogba, Ravel, Tunners, Cleverley and the rest.

I think that man utd will sign Samir Nasri and will also move for another striker if berbatov leaves. IMO and this is just an oppinion i think we should sell berba while we can and et 12 million roughly then use this to contribute to buying either benzema or cavani.

so my ideal summer ins would be

Ins:
De Gea
Jones
Young
Nasri
Cavani/benzema

Outs:

Berbatov
Wes Brown
O'shea
Gibson

although will be sad to see brown and oshea gone tbh

We were paying Hargreaves 40k a week, I imagine the insurance was paying the rest. I would say Neville & Scholes were on 80k at the very least. VDS I imagine was on around 60k a week. Brown & O'Shea would be on 40k a week each. I believe Gibson would be on around 30k a week. Berbatov is on about 80k a week, Kuszczak, Obertan & Macheda is probably a combined 50k a week. That's like 500k a week that the club will be saving.

Jones, De Gea & Young will be on 40k, 30k & 80k a week respectively. Players like Pogba, Morrison, Cleverley & Welbeck are already on the payroll. So United do have approximately 350k a week to play around with. That's £17.5m a year saved on wages. Even if we brought in two more players on 100k a week each we would still be saving £7.5m on are wage bill.

Our wage bill is coming down rapidly, everyone else's is on the rise.

I must say, it is quite sad to see so many senior players leaving. VDS, Scholes, Neville, Hargreaves, Brown and O'Shea. They have all been great servants to this club and we can only thank them for all they have done. Don't forget Brown and Hargreaves were big players for us when we won the Champions League in 2008. O'Shea has always been a very important part of the team and a real gentleman. It's also dissappointing to see all the Irishmen leaving from my perspective.

They are all legends in my eyes, but a new era is set to take off. Young, hungry players will fill the boots of these legends and we may well speak of Rooney, Chicharito, Young, Jones, De Gea, Twins, Morrison, Pogba, Tunnicliffe etc. in the same breath of all those who came before them in the future.

If SAF wants Sneijder and/or Nasri, he will do everything he can to get them and he rarely fails in getting what he wants so I would expect at least one of those players to come to OT.
I do however think a sly bid (big enough not to be refused) should be made for Schweinsteiger...I know he's recently updated his Bayern contract but he would be less of an ego than Sneijder and would probably fit in better.
Watch this space..I don't make wild assumptions and create rumours for the sake of it.

I know I have been one who has been voicing my negative opinions about Carrick the last day or two.
But if we did sign Nasri and Sneijder, Carrick would be ideal sitting in front of the back four where he could just shield the defense intercept passes then give his 5 or 10 yard passes to the midfielders who can play.
That way it wouldnt matter that he doesnt actually offer too much and doesnt get around the pitch and influence the game much....he wouldnt have to.
I think him Jones and Fletch would play that position given what team or competition we were playing in.

if we get sneidjer and nasri we will play flethcer, sneidjer and anderson or park (for there energy rather than carrick) then nasri left wing, rooney right and henendez midlle

it seems a lot of people are under the impression we will sign sneijder and nasri. We wont but it would be one of the best midfields I can think of.

-----------------------de gea--------------------------

--twin--------ferdinand-----vidic-------------evra--

------------------------fletcher-------------------------

-------------Nasri------------------sneijder------------

------rooney-------------pea----------------Nani-----

I would love to see this team maybe with rooney swapping with pea when we play valencia and young swapping with nani or nasri depending on the game.

I wish but it wont happen.

Agree nasri
Disagree sneidjer

I really don't think fergie will sign 2 midfielders-ie. Nasri and sneidjer.
He has just built an amazing strike partnership in Rooney and Hernandez so will not ruin that.

I would rather him sign nasri as he is younger than sneidjer, already established in PL and cheaper.
Also fergie will stick with 4-4-2 formation.
Probable team next year:

......................de Gea................, , .....
Da silva.......vidic......Ferdinand.........evra
.....................fletcher...........................
Valencia..................................young..
...................new midfielder....................
.....Rooney....................Chicharito

SSN Clockwatch states Udinese have confirmed Serie A rivals Napoli have made an offer for Alexis Sanchez and expect a decision on the in-demand winger's future to be made after the Copa America.

This just goes on and on, next will be Hartlepool United.

Guys just putting this out there, maybe if Owen Hargreaves is fit enough, should we sign him up again, he is only 30 and has proved his hunger?

O'Shea is having his medical at Sunderland apparantly. Personally I'm happy to see him go. Yes he has been a great servant for our club and his versatility is very useful, but for me he isn't good enough. Think about it this way say he wasn't comfortable playing in many differnet positions and was just a single position player would we have kept him for such a long time? IMO the only reason he wasn't sold a few years ago is because of his versatility.

Ed, i have heard that David Gill his away on holiday, so who is doing all the transfer talking? nasri his back from holiday today, how come he went at this busy time? or we finished our transfer, or we can count we already miss nasri to man s..ty? i do believe nasri would make us more strong in the middle. {Ed007's Note - Wasn't Nasri on holiday too?}

So the Times, Telegraph & Guardian all believe Nasri is going to United or at least favourite to go to United. The Sun & Mail believe he is going to City and the Mirror believe Arsenal will not sell him. I am not sure I believe any newspaper, but I would certainly believe the first three over the last three.

Sydney!

----------------------

Neil Ashton from the News of the World tweeted a week ago that Nasri was our main target and we would table a bid. He has very good contacts in Manchester.

I think Nasri is only a matter of time until he is a United player. Can t see him going to City.
