I hope if Modric isn't planning on coming to us he will make his mind up fast and join someone else within a week or two as I feel he could hinder the chances of us signing other options.

As long as he is avaliable we are going to sit and wait for him without making a move for anyone else, only for him on the last day of the window to say oh I am going to Madrid.

Dont get me wrong he is my number one choice but we cant afford to wait for him if it means we miss out on Moutinho or someone as good and definatly to end up with nobody.

I have always said that I don't think either Lucas Moura or James Rodriguez will sign this summer as I firmly believe that both men need an extra year at their respective clubs first. But my question is, who would you rather sign? Both are of similar price but Lucas Moura is younger, however i'd go for James Rodriguez as he has already played in Europe...In honesty I would be happy with both as I like that Latino flair that both would bring!

RedDevil19

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Rodriguez for me. Is a better fit than Moura.

G.A.G.U.S

Agree1 Disagree0

Latino flair? Lmao!! For the love of god who says stuff like that? You sound like Dale Winton or something!

Flimbo

Agree1 Disagree3

Rodriguez easily for me....

He is far better suited to the premier league much more physical and dynamic he is very direct, can finish and play centrally imo he will be the best left winger in the world in 5 years but he will probably be at Madrid as i do not think we are in for him and they will be eventually

Agree0 Disagree0

Rodriguez for me too, it's always a risk paying big money for players straight from the south american leagues IMO

Gav

Agree1 Disagree0

Me and you really get on well don't we Flimbo - grow up!

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree1

To be honest I think you're inability to read comments carefully and insult people when you've been shown to contradict yourself is a bit annoying, but that "latino flair" comment really cracked me up to the point where I wouldn't bother engaging in any intelligent conversation with you, other than that, we're fine :-)

Flimbo

Agree0 Disagree0

I can feel the electricity in the air crackling, it feels just like when i was a lad on the playground before a fight broke out.

Come on lads shake and go play on opposite side of the playground. lol

Shappy

Agree1 Disagree0

That would be a very good choice of options to have to pick from. If I was picking solely on what I hav seen I would say Moura but considering all aspects including league, cost, price etc Rodriguez woul take it. Both are top options.

why does iturbe never play for porto if he is supposedly so good. {Ed002's Note - He is a young kid.}

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Juan Iturbe is a phenomenal talent without a doubt ! I just wish we could snap him up quick and get him cheaper than what he's going to cost in 5 years

Agree1 Disagree0

Ed or Sydney I thought we were involved with iturbe and he went to Porto until we got a work permit or something?

I just wanted to ask the question, concerning leftback, who people want to sign?

I understand Baines is the favourite according to the media, but for some reason on here people don't seem to rate him.

So who do you prefer?

Bearing in mind the trendy choice was Alba but he;s gone to Barca and personally i didn't consider him good enough for the Premier League.

Willems was another shout but why pay a large fee for a raw kid when we have our own locally grown kid who people tend to ignore in Blackett.

So come one who's the other serious contenders out there?

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Well I don't know who I would prefer but the options I can think of are Cissokho, Oviedo, Balzaretti, Adriano
SqueakyBum

Agree0 Disagree0

That is because some need an instant fix rather than let others cone through but Blackett won't be thrown in the deep end, i suppose Baines is the best option we could get quickly.

3 years ago today we lost Ronaldo, what an absolute God he was! Viva Ronaldooo

who posted this? get a grip do you know who we are? we dont cry over players that are so brain dead they leave. If you want to do that become a gunner there best player leaves every season go cry on another page this a page for proud fans.

When Fergie leaves you can cry for a week then man upddd

Believable5 Unbelievable8

I see no problem in remembering how good Ronaldo was for us, i'm sure you were gutted when he left. If you had any balls you should leave a name so we can all have a go back to a name instead of some wimp with no name.

RedDevil19

Agree5 Disagree6

Ddd its at the end feel free to have a go mate id love it.

I was gutted but Ronaldo has moved on do u think he sits thinking ahh 3 years ago today i left? erm no.

maybe if you take ur tongue out his a£$ for a second you would realise what barca are doing to teams could well have been us if he had stayed he ddnt he left moved on so should u. focus on the players we have not ones we had if u wna live in the past b a scouser because thats what they do onthat page.

is that ok scousedevil19?

now have a go if you think your hard enuf

I must say I agree with ddd time to move on he's gone and didn't think of us when he left its a new era focus on that. And Dus he not have ddd at the end of his post ? Red devil I agree with a lot of ur posts but today ur being a plank mate. Y get sp personal so quick?

Real rec

Agree5 Disagree2

Look mr ddd....everyone has dreams while growing up and the boy had a dream of playing for real madrid. But u got to respect the boy's professionalism...he gave his all everytime he stepped out on the pitch.and he went with fergie's consent. So,respect him for that.and wish him the best of luck because he never said a bad thing about man utd...and nobody is living in the past man.Just chill.

RED DEVIL FOR LIFE

Agree5 Disagree2

Completely agree with RD19, Ronaldo is a great player that never has a bad word to say about United, he helped us win three Premier league titles, the champions league and quite a few other trophies, so I don't see the problem in a lot of fans including myself remembering him as a great player. Not everybody is as bitter about him leaving as you are.

CnM

Agree2 Disagree2

Most of us knew Ronny was off so had a year to get used to it. His final season wasn't that great for us so I knew it was time for him to move on, he wanted to leave sadly, we got an extra year out of him so can't complain.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree3

What was it he said about fergies tactics after the fianal in rome? berating oshea on the pitch? snatching his top after being taken off? wdnt track back he was no angel the rooney incident? he had to be convinced twice to stay!

Fergie had no choice he left and ddint think twice he flirted with them for years in what way was that profesional?

Im not bitter I just dont think he gave us his best years and I find it sad that we have had true legends like giggs keane scholes who ddnt walk away before there primes, If he had stayed maybe we would be in better shape

ddd

Agree3 Disagree0

Not a Legend in my eyes, but great player for us...

Wenger has stated that he will not sell to City again, and with Fergie's era coming to an end in the near future (couple of years) i can see him wanting to leave his successor with the best players possible. Heard a lot of talk about RVP and Moutinho coming to United. 26million for Moutinho and 25 for RVP

Believable0 Unbelievable2

No one with half a brain cell would pay £25m for RVP. It's financial suicide. £15m maybe.

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree0

We won't get anywhere near him with the interest that's coming from major clubs in Spain, England, Italy and France.
Some of them are stupid enough to pay far more than he's worth, and you can't blame him for taking that huge pay day. It may be his last.

M.D.

Agree2 Disagree0

Sdy he didn't say 25 million for RVP he just said 25, I assumed he ment pounds if your taking his injury record and that he only has one year left on his contract into account. Lol.

Ive got a comment-that will never happen at 13m! At least 20m

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Why do Evertonians think they will get £20m for Baines? All fans overprice their players slightly, but £20m is ridiculous.

Sydney!"""
dear all
ngiak apologises for the pessimism
but even 13 million for baines is ridiculous!
gan

Believable4 Unbelievable0

I agree, £10m is about right.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree1

Nope 5mil max

Mike

Agree2 Disagree0

5m plus Rooney sounds a fair deal.

Agree1 Disagree2

Is that Patrick Rooney from admin? No chance you are having him. I tell you what, £2m plus fat Pat and we shake hands.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Evertonians think they will get 20m for Baines because they know Utd will be silly enough to pay it. After all the club paid 18m for Young who only had a year left on his contract, so the proof is there it will happen again.

Agree1 Disagree0

£16m for Young is cheap. If he had three years on his contract he would have cost between £20m-£25m. It was the amount of interest in him that made his price go up slightly.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree2

How is 16m cheap for a player in the last year of his contract? Alba was what i call cheap, and yes he only wanted to go to Barca but Young only wanted to sign for Man Utd, so in my book you still overpaid, and as for Baines he still has 3 years left on his contract, so if you want him you will have to pay big it's non negotiable. Mitch

Agree0 Disagree1

I think we are looking at him only so the price we are likely to pay will be in the middle of what we want to pay and the price everton want to take. Only thing will change the price in our favour would be him demanding to leave which I doubt will be an option even if he is desperate to take the chance.

I don't think Moyes would be one to deny a player of his age what could probably be his last chance of a top club move.

I think he will be a good signing which will aid in the transition of out with evra and cover the position while we wait on the Fabio's and Blacketts to come of age.

He will always cost a shed load more than normal as the English premium will dictate that but 15m for a guarentee evra won't be first choice all season again next year I'll chip in myself haha

Why is it that people write messages to players on this site? 'Thanks for your service, Park' etc. It's not like they read the site is it?

Why not write the player a letter, I'm sure they would appreciate the sentiment. But you're completely wasting your time writing it here.

firebear83

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Who's to say they don't read them, they have plenty of time when the shops, tattoo parlers or car showrooms are closed. John

Agree3 Disagree1

People feel the need to express their appreciation amongst others.
The only one here that's wasted their time is you, because airing what you think won't change that.
I would like to see people group their posts on the same subject together but then that doesn't happen with any subject, so it's too much to ask for a particular one.
Basically, just let people do their thing.

Just a thought after reading various action regarding transfers of UTD and Real.
I reckon SAF is more interested in Modric than anyone else. Only issue is Real have alot of pulling power at the moment. Real are very interested in fresh faces, hence there interest in Lucas Moura. The reports of UTD courting Moura are designed to deflect Real's attention from Modric, leaving Spurs with only the UTD offer.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

Why do united sell players so cheap? Park for an initial 2million is stupidly cheap, they'll make that money back with ease with shirt sales! Surely theres a big signing on the way, because we we're willing to spend 35million on Hazard, so plus with extra sales, we must have abit of money left?

Believable3 Unbelievable1

£2m rising to £5m depending on if they avoid relegation is a very good price. Kagawa will replace Park for more reasons than one.

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree0

We only signed Park for 4m. He's 31. And I'm guessing he hasn't got much left on contact?
How much do you think he's worth?!

M.D.

Agree1 Disagree0

Park is past it, and he is taking up a squad place....... 2.5 now and another 2.5 if qpr stay up is good money for a player in the last years of his career....

Agree1 Disagree1

It's a fair price for Park IMO, at 31 and with his best form behind him. Just as important are his wage coming off the bill and the extra space being made in the 25 man squad

Evolution not revolution.

Problem? {Ed004's Note - Yes. What do we do with Nani, Young and Valencia?}

Believable0 Unbelievable4

I agree that 4-4-2 is out dated..

BUT 4-1-2-1-1-1 ... do not think that formation is going to take off to be honest...

oxred

Agree3 Disagree0

I agree that 4-4-2 is a bit out-dated...but I also think that the PL is not the place for splitting up a midfield into purely attacking and defending. A 4-3-1-2 is what i'd like to see! Something along the lines of this...

De Gea
Rafael Vidic Evans Baines
Valencia Moutinho Young
Nani/Kagawa
Rooney Welbeck

Andy

Agree1 Disagree2

That formation is a bit linear! As the Ed says our wingers would be wasted

I'd go 4231:

___________DDG__________
Rafael__Smalling_Vidic__Baines
_____Moutinho__Carrick_____
Valencia___Kagawa____Nani
__________Rooney________

Gav

Agree3 Disagree0

Gav, I think that will pretty much be the line up, but from what i've heard Nani maybe leaving with Gaitan replacing him. Not my first choice tbh but thats what i've heard. Personally i'd also rather replace Baines for Izaguirre too but hey ho.

Shappy

Agree3 Disagree0

I disagree, I think we could much better control the midfield, and nani/kagawa could drift onto the wings to support the two conventional wingers as needed. I also don't like the idea of a lone striker, it can be defended incredibly easy! But hey, that's football...different opinions, still United fans for life!

ANOTHER CLASS PLAYER GONE>>> v will miss him... !!!!!!

Queens Park Rangers have agreed a deal to sign midfielder Park Ji-sung from Manchester United.
The agreement, which could potentially be worth £5m, will see QPR pay an initial transfer fee of £2m for the 31-year-old.
The South Korea international has made 133 Premier League appearances for United since joining the club from PSV Eindhoven in 2005, scoring 19 goals.
He won four Premier League titles and the Champions League while at United.
After beginning his professional career with Japanese side Kyoto Purple Sanga, Park impressed during his nation's run to the World Cup semi-finals in 2002, when they were co-hosts.
Such performances saw him follow national team coach Guus Hiddink to PSV Eindhoven, where he played for three years before making a £4m move to Old Trafford, becoming a reliable wide option for boss Sir Alex Ferguson.

I would like to offer Park Ji-Suing all the best, I thought he would be on his way either this year or next. He has been a great servant to the club and deserves every success at QPR. Thankfully Kagawa will pick up his marketing mantle which will keep us ahead with revenue. Whilst I am sad to see him go, I am also happy because it shows that their is no room for sentiment from the boss, he is willing to cut lose anyone he deems to be past their peak which is very good news. Anderson and Berbatov will probably follow, as will Fryers, Amos and Johnstone on loan, maybe Butland in with Cole, Tunnicliffe, Petrucci and perhaps Veseli getting first team time!

RedDevil19

"Whilst I am sad to see him go, I am also happy because it shows that their is no room for sentiment from the boss, he is willing to cut lose anyone he deems to be past their peak which is very good news"

If that was true then what about Giggs, Evra and, to a lesser extent, Scholes?

Flimbo

Agree1 Disagree1

Park ji sung is a great squad player, the best thing about him is that ,he has 0% ego.

best wishes for the future

nikz

Agree3 Disagree0

Scholes was one of our best players last season, giggs is fantastic for the dressing room and won't play much this season and we don't have any to replace evra (yet).

GDS

Agree1 Disagree2

To zero extent, Scholes. He came out of retirement for us in our time of need and performed very well.

M.D.

Agree1 Disagree1

'Flimbo' you have made a complete fool of yourself. Without Scholes we wouldn't have got near to the title, Giggs is useful but will be very much a bit part player this year...and you seem to forget that the year before last he and Carrick got us to the CL final. As for Evra he is a good presence in the dressing room.

RedDevil19

Agree2 Disagree5

I'm not insinuating that the players should have been moved on I was just highlighting the point that the poster was trying to make was incorrect.

Flimbo

Agree0 Disagree0

RedDevil19 - if you actually read what I said you would have understood my point, unfortunately you've made yourself look the fool.

Read the comments carefully before you insult someone in future!

Flimbo

Agree0 Disagree0

You are still basically saying SAF is being sentimental in keeping Giggs, Evra and to a point Scholes. This is nonsense as they still have a part to play at the club...so my comments have not made me look stupid...just you.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree2

Scholes retired for a reason and came back for a reason.

Giggs & Evra, whilst i appreciate keeping them around the dressing room for their experience and personalities and we don't want to lose too much character and experience all in one go with the core of the team being young, really we shouldn't have got to this point. Evra I think has been retained for the above reasons and also the management was hoping after a good summer break he could come back. He hasn't. Also there has been the distinct lack of options to replace him.

Giggs i feel is on some personal ego trip to amass as many appearances as possible so that no future player can challenge his appearance record like the way he overtook Charlton's. I feel that Giggs shoud have retired this summer after his poor season last season. Great player in his day and some wonderful memories, but really does need to quit.

Agree4 Disagree0

I think the part you are missing is "IF THAT WAS THE CASE" I cant really spell it out better than that, as I said I was pointing out your mistake in the first post and I've actually continued to do it to anything you've replied with since. The fact is you jumped the gun and misread what I said so therefore didn't get the point I made and you're answer to that was that I'm the fool, well I think I've put an end to that notion dont you?

Flimbo

Agree0 Disagree0

Also RD19, Are you saying that Giggs, Evra and Scholes are not passed the peak? You do realise a player peaks at 28/29 dont you?

Agree0 Disagree0

We have Evra, Giggs, Ferdinand, Park, Scholes, Owen & Berbatov that will all leave within two seasons. We couldn't have all leaving this summer so perhaps Park, Owen & Berbatov will leave this year with Giggs, Scholes, Ferdinand & Evra leaving next term. I still think there is a slight chance Evra may go this summer, obviously a lot depends on who comes in.

We don't need Rvp so not sure why we are even linked with him. Think everyone is in agreement we need 1 of not 2 quality signings, I am sure fergie knows this as well so wouldn't worry yourself too much. Song is decent but arsenal are selling because of players in last year of their contract, song isnt one of them players.

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes we do need one CM minimum. Not Song for me though, would prefer someone more nimble and technically gifted. If Modric is out of reach then I'd love us to get Moutinho

I think we will see two great partnership's blossom this coming season.

We have already seen Rooney and Welbeck's performances in the back end of the season, being likened to Cole and Yorke. I see this partnership becoming even better this season.

The other will be Kagawa and Hernandez. Although Chicharito doesn't have the size and power of Lewandowski who linked up so well with Kagawa at Borrusia Dormund. They are two different players in there build and their main attributes but their movement is very similar and with Chicharito's darting runs and Kagawas eye for a pass we will turn defences to face their own goal with 1 bit of play.

fearny

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I think your more likely to see kagawa/rooney
jred

Agree3 Disagree0

Rooney hasn't got the movement that Hernandez does, so I can understand the OP's post. I'd love to see Kagawa Welbeck and Rooney shoehorned into the same team -be a nightmare for defenses!

DodgyBanter

When rooney played as an out and out striker the other year i thought his movement was excellent
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

The only issue that i see with that is that rooney & kagawa will be in our first 11 and wellbeck & herdandez our 2nd 11

so can not see either of the pairs you listed growing as a partnership....

I'm sure he will be an asset to QPR, an excellent role model for their younger players and will get the game time he deserves.
He gets my thanks for everything and I hope he enjoys life at his new club.,

Hi not going to go on about transfer targets after reading your page by all means we will sign a few players. Well as far Baines i dont believe it why would we loan Fabio out and not sell him as signing Baines would only hamper his development and for Modric yeah he had a good Euro 12 but tell me what he did at Spurs last season to merit a move to Utd or Madrid? Mountino would be a good signing but no doubt someone will jump in and try to stall the deal if that is the case we dont want him in my view like Hazard why would you talk to a player and let him go and talk to other clubs we need players who want to come to Utd. I have a feeling we will sign 2 players who are not that well known as everytime we declare interest in someone another club becomes interested. Moral: TRUST FERGIE what do you think Ed??????? {Ed002's Note - If a player like Hazard has permission to talk to clubs to see what is on offer it is hardly something Manchester United can stop.}

Clearly never watched any spurs games last season mate, modric has been class for a long time, not just at euro 2012, does make me laugh when people say that.

Anybody else a bit worried that the signing of kagawa will more than likely mean 4-4-1-1 formation, with both welbeck and hernandez missing out. Fair enough hernandez is more of an impact player off the bench but surely welbeck needs to be starting more games than not if we want the most out of him in the future and as he's proved with both club and country over the last season he's ready to push on and become a top class premier league striker this season.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

I'm not sure Wellbeck is ready to play 'more games than not' for United TBH. I am a fan of his but don't think he's ready to lead the mantle just yet. His linkup play and athletisism is great but his close control and finishing are average for a striker at this moment in time. He should be pushing to come off the bench or force his way in through cup games not be a stand out 1st choice IMO. That is, if we seriously want to win the PL back and compete for the CL. Would Barca, Real or Bayern play Wellbeck as their main striker in a big game? I highly doubt it

Gav

Agree3 Disagree2

United are extremely good at rotating and utilising the entire squad.

APC

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry mate don't rate welbeck at all much better out there at 21

Agree9 Disagree3

"Would Barca, Real or Bayern play Wellbeck as their main striker in a big game?"

Both Barca and Bayern have players that have been developed through their own youth system. Trust in those players have yielded results, such as Pedro, Muller, Badstuber, etc., etc.
I don't need to remind anyone about how these players have performed in important games.
You could argue that Welbeck simply isn't good enough, but I'd argue back that at 21 it's too early to judge. And after what may be considered his breakthrough season, I'm surprised there isn't more excitement about what's to come.
To respond to the OP, I'd say that there's so many games these days that both will get their chances to earn their first team status. Whether they take those chances and keep their slots is impossible to answer. I will say that, as it stands, I expect Kagawa to play behind Rooney in the biggest games for tactical reasons.

M.D.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who is much better at 21? Ill ask you to name 5 strikers better. Any you do name would cost us over 20 million, we got Welbeck for free.

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

DodgyBanter

Agree0 Disagree0

M.D.

I do like Wellbeck and am excited about the future he may have at our club, but feel he needs to develop quite a bit if he's going to be our main striker. I'm all for giving youth a chance and SAF will make sure he does that throughout the season anyway. All I'm saying is IMO Wellbeck is not YET good enough to be starting each game up front. Not if we want to be a top team this season. The main improvements I'd like to see from him would be getting into good positions in the box more often and to improve his finishing when he get's there. I like his linkup skills, pace and athletisism just think he needs to add that 'cutting edge' to his game that top forwards need

Personally, I'd like to see Kagawa behind Rooney in big games but with Wellbeck, Hernandez and Powell given chances whenever possible

My point about those other clubs was more about the quality of the player. I understand Bayern and Barca always give youth a chance as we do. I just couldn't imagine a player of Wellbeck's current quality starting big games for them up font (the business end of the pitch). Just my opinion though

Gav

Jovetic , Romarinho , Balotelli , Castaignos , and Bojan just to name a few that are better then Welbeck , Take those rose tinted glasses off.

Fans of Utd must surely know by now that SAF does his business early. Like all of you I'd like to think they'll be at least 2 more signings; a midfielder and a striker, assuming, as should be the case, that Berba moves on.

A good pre-season is vital so I can only see one more signing late on. No idea who or what position.

I doubt Moutinho is a target despite a good tournament; I think we've learn't from that mistake in the past and would expect targets were established long ago.

Who they are/were is what this website is all about but I suspect that whoever the next and last signing is will surprise all of us...

Rafeal and Fabio have the potential to be two of the best full-backs in the world?

They would want to hurry up about it cos either they are late bloomers or you dont watch any other league outside England cos at the moment they have done nothing to suggest they are anywhere near world class! They are not kids at 21 years old so to say they are as good as Sergio Ramos, Maicon, Coentrao, Dani Alves, Ashley Cole, Phillipe Lahm at that age is totally incorrect!

The Modric,RVP chase do you really believe Utd serious contenders, the so called lucas chase! Utd don't mind them stories one bit looks like they really in for them!no chance! The Lucas link havnt chelsea had 32m turned down!that rules Utd out already, RVP 28/29 Utd don't put big money on them no sell on value,Modric levy valuation would have finished Utd after one phone call!
