Now this isn't strictly united based but after last nights game i've been debating with the guys at work over who should be on the plane to poland/ukraine next summer.
Now for me the Euro's are the warm up to the world cup and seeing as we have loads of promising young players and the old gaurd but not much inbetween(22-29yo). I feel we need to get the right mix of experiance and youth so as were well placed for Brazil 2014.
The squad i would like to see go is:

GK- Hart, Foster, Smithies

DF- Smalling, Jones, Terry, Baines, Cole, Walker then one of Cahill/Jagielka and either Richards or G Johnson

MF- Parker, Gerrard, Cleverley, Wilshere, Young, A Johnson, Oxlade-Chamberlain, then either Walcott or Downing

FW- Rooney, Welbeck, Sturridge, either Defoe or Bent

Now at this moment the either/or's for me would be:
Cahill, Richards, Downing, Defoe.

But i feel these player need to play for their place in the team as they've not totally convinced me yet.

Now i've left out some big names like Ferdinand and Lampard simply because i feel we don't want to many ego's there and they have no chance of making it to Brazil and would only be denying a younger player a place and the chance to experiance a national competition. I've kept a few older players to help guide the younger ones and i've taken the youngster who i feel are currently good enough and will be key players for us in 2014.
I've put Oxlade-Chamberlain in as i feel he has movement pace and an end product which is something i feel only Adam Johnson and Ashley Young offer us in wide positions. Both Walcott and Downing are good players but don't offer us as much as AOC does. At this moment i'd go for Downing as he has a better end product than Walcott. Upfront at the moment i'd go for Defoe over Bent as i feel his finishing and his "big game" experiance is better. In defence i think Cahill is in better form than Jagielka as thing stand but we'll need to see come May to see who deserves to be on the plane. Then that leaves us with Glen Johnson and Richards, Johnson's injury record is working against him here and his lack of Champions league football this year means he may not be ready for the best players in the world, but he could still get the nod depanding on Baines. If Baines isn't happy to go then Briggs is who i'd call in his place but Johnson's ability to play leftback as well would be useful if there was an injury to Cole as i don't think Briggs is quite ready for it, but the experiance would be good as i expect him to be our left back in 2014.
In goal the number of players calling time on their international careers because they can't compete with Hart is sad, but i'd do my best to try and talk around Foster as i think he's the best back up we have, if he won't come then i'd try for Robinson. After that we haven't got anyone with experiance and quality as resevre.

well those are my thought on the matter, i'd be happy to hear wat you guys think.

You obviously know nothing about accounts. They are a snapshot of one day of the year. There is nothing about a net debt in accounts. Accounts balance , both sides balance and the debt is the debt. Cash comes and goes, just imagine we spent £50M on players in summer and then your "net debt" changes. Net debt is a misnomer, total rubbish a debt is a debt, end of. You need to wake up with that.
Our debt is what is stated in the accounts so if that is £458M, that is what it is. Stop trying to fool people.

You try to fool people on the PIKs, you and I do not know how they were paid off. You answered the question like these debts dont matter, yet they could cause an issue to the owners. Wake up, it ,may not be a direct Man Utd issue, but it could be an issue to those who own us.

A massive hint that Mario Goetze prefers a move to Manchester United. Wait for it, his blood is RED. :o

Jono not suggesting scotland lack quality? Lich are a fast improving country aint that right 007? cough cough but i can see the MASTERPLAN no doubt spanish think walkover right, remember france.. hence going easy on litchen, now up steps fletcher and rules xavi iniesta shock 1-0 result fletcher motm 9 rates across the board. Gets recognized for the talent he is finds his own importance and rules our midfield for years to come. We scots are better dreamers but that's what it is a mini mu against barce. So goodluck fletch and all the luck to scotland Solil Mu {Ed007's Note - I don't really bother much with international football, I never even watched the Scotland game, I was messing around with a new laptop I got today. Scotland are that bad even Torres could score against them if he is playing, it might boost his confidence to get a few goals against Gary Caldwell etc.}

On a few topics earlier.

Higuain- I think he would be immense. Not as mobile as Chicho but absolutely deadly. It amazes me Jose is sticking with Benz ahead of him. For this reason alone is why I think he will move next summer and with Ronnie and Jose no doubt saying good things of SAF and Utd then that could help.

Night out- I managed a 4 figure plus spend in Aberdeen few weeks back altho it was spent mostly on drowning sorrows after Scotland 2-2 v Cheating Checkies and 'talking' to some ladies who like to get naked. Good times until I found the reciepts.

Drinks- I tend to follow the typical Scottish line of anything in front of me goes fine but Whiskey is a tough one to swallow. After a bad young experience I usually get the mouth sweats before having to down a beer to rid the taste.

Hangovers- A cure I find works is having to explain to your Mrs why you have pissed the bed again? Haha.

Question to sydney or anyone else who thinks they understand. In the most simplistic terms could you explain what debt we are in. What bond issues and payment in kind(pik) actually mean what role MUST play in this and where they are at, what role red knights play, what the phoenix fund is and my own personal question what dividends were taken out the club yearly at debt free times for example by macmanus ect regime. Please remember to keep it simple for us. If possible please supply links that can support and expand on this. Thanks {Ed007's Note - Are you sure there is nothing else you have forgot about?}

came across this by chance - if you spell check MUFC spellchecker suggests MUFF as an alternative.

Thought I'd start early as we're going to give you another Anfield hiding next week!

Cheers saddos,

ALB {Ed007's Note - You had to spell-check MUFC (by chance my ar5e, who spell checks accidentally?) and then come on here and call us saddos? The irony of that is astounding mate, take a bow as 'Nugget of the Week'. Blair will be raging that you have stole it from him this week.}

Would like a Ronaldo type player back, if not the main man. Who could be that player? Thoughts?

Personally i like Portugese players, I think they have alot about them. So i'm going to throw another name into the ring and say Joao Moutinho would be class...he can pass, score and defend. For me he is very much a box-to-box kind of player and could play in the Champions League for us. What are your thoughts on him guys?

What are peoples thoughts on van der Vaart? He would add creativity, and wouldn't command a start every game - would he be perfect to balance youth with experience?

Been having a think about SAF's comments last year about we didn't sign a certain player as he wants yet available. This could just be an excuse, another way of saying 'no value'. But, I think Untied's central midfield gem will depend on what Mario Goetze does. If Goetze goes to Bayern which most German's do, then I really do feel Schweinsteiger will be the one for us. Thoughts?

I am so bored with all the England rubbish and i have no interest in bickering with Scousers. Let me bring you up to date with Morrison. The good news is he is now back training. He was sent home from training and told to stay away until sent for, but that matter has been sorted and we should see a lot more of him now. I got my ticket for the liverpool game along with a note from Sir Alex asking us to behave ourselves as lots of clubs are using it as an excuse to reduce our away allocation which is always brilliant and very vocal. But have no fear no matter how much they try they will not silence us as we rub 19 in their grubby little faces. Some bad news on the Barklay side, it appears that Chelsea and City are now seriously sniffing and are getting ready to get into a bidding war. It seems we are going to be out priced for him. Still we have 3 massive games coming up which will give us a clear view as to where we stand. We are due a good game at Anfield and i have a sneaky feeling about the boy Jones showing them why he is so special and getting on the score sheet. RAINFISHTROMBONE

Schweinsteiger or Modric? They'd cost about the same, i wouldn't like to have to choose...

I dont understand why everyone here wants to have Barkley.........I agree he has potential but we already have young midfielders with potential like Pogba,Morrison and Tunnicliffe.

Doesnt SAF's attempt to sign Sneijder make his intention clear??
He needs a well established midfielder, a midfielder between the age of 23-26 and decent amount of Champions League and european experience

1. Claudio Marchisio
2. Sami Khedira(a bit volatile but a good player)
3. Mathieu Valbuena
4. Marvin Martin

Fantastic Ideal Signing :- Bastian Schweinsteiger

(Sneijder would be too expensive and old)

MUMBAI_BOY {Ed007's Note - Schweinsteiger and Sneijder are the same age, does that not make the German old as well?}

In January I can really see Carrick, Berbatov, Gibson, Macheda (loan), Diouf and Kuszcack all leaving. And i think three of them need to be replaced. 4 or 5 signings that would make United the best team in the world I feel would be:

Javi Garcia - Solid Roy Keane like figure.
Luka Modric - The missing link in the middle.
Gareth Bale - Left footed winger and future left back.
Gonzalo Higuain - Clinical and would bring a lot.

Ones maybe for next year would be:

Jose Manuel Iturbe - Messi like in ability.
Ross Barkley - Will become one of the best English midfielders of his generation.
Matthew Briggs - Already showing potential at LB

Who would you like our ot these three strikers if a few of our current strikers were allowed to leav (Diouf, Berbatov, Owen and maybe Macheda): Higuain, Wolfswinkel and Van Persie, for me those three seem the most likely.

Anyone think that Di Maria would be a good option on the left for us? I think soon we will need a new winger, Park hasn't got it anymore and Giggs is more central anyway. A good left footed midfielder wouldn't go a miss. Could be available if Real go for Hazard and Neymar as the press reports they will...

I have just done my accumulator, had to try and improve this dreadful International weekend. I hate International weeks. I have gone for Charlton, Colchester, Scunthorpe, Shrewsbury & Swindon all to win. £5 bet will get me £50 if I win. This is the difference between me going out on the town and not.

Anyone else done their accumulators and want to share your chosen teams?

Apparently Rooney will miss the first game of the group stages and possibly the second if Wolfgang Stark sees Rooney's offense as dangerous or malicious. Personally I would call it petulant and stupid, it was certainly not a dangerous incident. So I think he may miss just the one game. This will mean there is absolutely no point in playing him in the two friendlies coming up. We need to play the eleven that will start the first game of the tournament.

It would be good news for United for Rooney to miss the friendlies. Gives him 10-14 days to recharge his batteries for the PL. Liverpool defenders will be trying their best to wind him up on Saturday. Big bottomed Carragher will get crucified.

I saw Saurez the other day and asked for his autograph.
He said "do you have a pen"
I said "hold on"
With that I threw myself to the floor, rolled around theatrically and began to cry.
He said "How's that gonna get a pen"
I said "Well thats how you F***ing do it"
