So, doing the rounds is the rumour that martial has no problem with being included in any deal that requires a player part-ex with psg, some pundits and bloggers are mentioning the name of neymar with cash plus martial in return, and some have said pogba has been mentioned by psg in any deal involving neymar, i for one would think neymar would give more to the team than martial, and maybe more than pogba, but the big question is whether he'd be up for the physicality of the premiership and the amount of games per season, most likely never happen, but what a statement that would make!

{Ed002's Note - Someone has been teasing you. PSG has not offered Neymar to Manchester United.}

Click bait 82.
You can't believe 99.99% of those reports. Most are without any foundation whatsoever.
Ed002 will give us an update this week on summer ins/ outs its the most reliable info you will get.
Im hoping 4 or 5 new signings in the summer and a couple of promotions. with 7 exits (incuding ibra) .

Ed, if you can answer this thanks. Been told Jose wants to keep Martial but he's rejected 3 contract offers. Is that true do you know? Does Martial want to leave?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of a series of contract offers being rejected. That would be very untypically of MU to get involved in that sort of activity.}

Cheers Ed thanks for clarifying.

I feel like this is going to go on all summer, the new Ronnie.

Golden rule number 1, if it sounds like nonsense, it is most likely nonsense. The names Neymar, Pogba and Manchester United sell papers and certain people click on links that mention their names and believe everything they read, that is why they continue to do it.

So just 6 games left. 18 more points, if (and I know it's a big IF) we won the remaining games of which I can only see as struggling with arsenal we would get 89 points. that would be good enough for the last 5 premier leagues except last one where the leader got 93 points. Maybe it´s not as bad as the media claims but surely people would say not as good as city´s, never the less IMO shows great improvement and what city did most likely won't replicated next season when the other teams get used to Pep´s tactics. Maybe with the next transfer window Mou get solved the areas where we all now we need improvement and continue with his team improvement, credit where it's deserved.
If we haven't played as we did against sevilla the mood would be very different, hopefully the team can built confidence on the derby win. GGMU!

Most points in a season without winning the league: 89, Manchester United (2011–12)
Fewest points in a season while winning the league: 75, Manchester United (1996–97)

Yep it could be the second time we have got 89 points and not won the league but that is football.

Makes me laugh when people say, “well we’ll improve with a few signings, but city probably won’t replicate their form
Next season”. Er why not? They’re just as likely to improve as much as we are. It’s the same with Salah, everyone saying he won’t do it next season, why not? He’s got every chance.

Stand, by definition:
PROBABILITY: the extent to which an event is likely to occur, measured by the ratio of the favourable cases to the whole number of cases possible.
Now based on the last premier league champions and the way they perform the season after they won the title I would say it's most likely (or probable) they would fail, it just take a bad signing, an injurie of a key player, the goalkeepers current form, or just Pep´s attitude or pressure to make a change in the entire team, we have suffer some of these variables in the past.

That's why I believed they won't replicate their form.

Ed001 👍.
Good and accurate quote about the great Cruyff by Kuiper.
But I still like the sick and intelligent description about him 😉😊.

{Ed001's Note - I had to leave so much out of that article. It could have easily been 20 pages.}

How about put all together and have a link just like the F1 site?
Incidentally Red won the F1 again 👏👏👏
Sad about the mechanics broken leg and Kimmi had to retire 😩. Would’ve been great to have at least a 1-3 podium finishing.

Michael Carrick

It's interesting to me to read about the discussion in the dressing room at half time against citeh. Not surprisingly the senior players lead the discussion with Michael being one of those. It makes me wonder how central he was? Is he a good motivator? Listening to the players talk about him he is clearly held in high esteem and very well respected. That's not surprising.
I wonder if we have a future Manchester United manager coming through the ranks?
He certainly seems to get what United are about and is passionate about the club.
I will be watching on with interest!

It was really interesting reading the comments from the players Mike. Especially Pogba's ones regarding the influence Carra has on him and the runs he was telling him to make. Clearly is very well respected and admired by the current bunch of players.

I must admit I never looked at him as a motivator or vocal presence such as a keane or a ferdinand, but more of a scholes who let his actions speak louder than words. However, Carrick has always had a very good footballing brain and is clearly an intelligent individual and I for one would be ecstatic if he is being groomed as a potential united manager if he has the ability to do so. Its this sort of planning that we have been missing and who else to promote as manager than a player who knows what it is like to play for united and understands the values of the club. However he has to have the ability and not be considered on sentiment or reputation alone. I will also be watching in interest as it is clear both jose and the players have an enormous amount of respect for him.

He would certainly be a better choice than Giggs, seems a lot brighter when he talks, has had to read a lot of games over the years and in general just seems to be a nicer person (not difficult I would imagine) . Not saying he should get the job any time soon, but I can certainly see him in a top managerial role more so than Giggs.

Folks as I have mentioned I feel Carrick would be a good manager for us. Hopefully after Jose leads us to a title or a double or triple and relinquish to Carrick.
Carrick has always been a better thinker than Goggs. Giggs is a player and deliverer. Carrick is a strategist and solution provider. Carrick will definitely be a more successful manager than Giggs. Just like Nicky Butt. He is a good coach but not necessarily a good manager. Carrick doesn’t talk much but when he talks most listen. I hope our club does not release him to other clubs. We need to give him the opportunity to progress to become a manager of the club.

Spot on guys. Carrick strikes me as someone who would be a very good man manager as well as tactically sound. Not sure why but I see a bit of pep in Carrick. I loved Giggs as a player but I don’t think he has it in him to be a top manager. I might be wrong but appointing him would be a mistake. From our current bunch of players I can see Herrera and mata being accomplished managers.

Wow, the analysis of Carrick on here is stunning. I love him as a player but I hadn’t realised he was a strategist and solution provider. As for Giggs, let’s see how he does at Wales before writing him off.

Great article Ed001.
Cruyff is one of the greats in modern football. He put Holland up amongst the great football countries. Nimble, intelligent and skillful.
Good time the article reminding us what the real meaning of football imho.
👏 Ed.

{Ed001's Note - shame there isn't more like him in the game. Intelligent and footballer are two words that very very rarely go together!}

09 Apr 2018 06:15:57
Tell me about it Ed001. Those were the days. Those were the days. 😊.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - at one time Liverpool had a team almost entirely made up of university graduates. You just can't see that happening again! Most modern day footballers would struggle to spell graduate.}

09 Apr 2018 06:34:46
Those days though a ManUtd fan but I liked Hoddle, Dalglish, Keagan, Rush, and a few more prolific players. Of course I love the entire ManUtd team 🤣🤣. But again those were the days.
These days you read more other thing about their cars, houses, WAGs, even hairstyles (😉🤣) . How things and times have changed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - you would think a good grounding through education would be even more important to them now, with so much money to look after. You look at the truly greatest stars in sport, the ones who lasted while performing and kept hold of their riches afterwards, and most of them took some time to enhance their education. The likes of Michael Jordan went back to college as soon as their playing career gave them the time to do so. It would do the likes of Paul Pogba a lot of good to do the same. They have the time, so why not put it to good use?}

09 Apr 2018 06:54:32
Yeah agree though MJ actually gambles a lot with Magic Johnson. But the ultimate are people like Charlton although I think a good wife has something to do with that. I can’t say much about the same for Maradona? 😉
But yes would help then a lot to go back to get a proper education and become a person with good head on shoulder. Do some good and return to the society. I’m sure that’s the same for you 😉 since you are doing what you do here - a great job 👍.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - MJ can afford it though, not a problem gambling if you keep it within affordable limits. Charlton was more of a family man, rather than returning and enhancing his education, he would just spend time with the wife. Certainly a bonus for a manager if a player would rather go for a nice meal with his missus than go out on the lash. Managers would often try and get youngsters married off in the 60s and 70s. Busby famously tried to do so with Best to calm him down.

Thank you mate, though I am self-educated, as I never really went to school, which is why I am such an advocate for getting an education. Not having a formal education held me back in terms of getting a job throughout my life.}

09 Apr 2018 09:15:38
Haha Ed. These days even a high education may not necessarily guarantee you a job let alone a good job. And I feel these days it’s better to have a good skill than a good education. Old school for me sorry 😐 🤣.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I do agree, but I would call learning a skill education myself.}

09 Apr 2018 11:06:04
