Funniest thing i've read in a while...

John Brewin (ESPN) said....

"Phil Jones #mufc deal has hit a snag, we understand. #brfc value him at £25m despite clause being triggered at £16m. See him as Terry/Adams."

then after a load of abuse says this...

"#brfc stance is that clause allows player to talk to #mufc, not complete the deal. Still think he will end up at OT"

What a A**m!!

Been speaking with people inside club tonight they think Barcelona will sign Rossi and Fabragas and may pass on Sanchez leaving it to us and Inter for him. Also if utd try to sign Sanchez then Nani or Valencia will leave before you say no way Nani wants a move to Italy and Valencia contract talks have broken down over image rights and may use him to get Sanchez. {Ed007's Note - No way? We spoke about Nani leaving 2 weeks ago}

You couldnt have driven by old trafford, theyre doing construction on the road that goes in front of it and its completely blocked off, nice try mate. I was there earlier and theyve been doing it for about a week now and its not going to be done till early July. Get a life

5 Mexico Players have tested positive for banned substance clenbuterol

Don't worry, Chicharito isn't one of the players

Guillermo Ochoa, Francisco Rodriguez, Edgar Duenas, Antonio Naelson 'Sinha' and Christian Bermudez
Are the 5.. not sure what to make of this, seems a little bit over coincidental that 5 players have tested positive... foul play at foot perhaps?

Trying to take a realistic look at this:

Sanchez: I've got a feeling that Sanchez will stay at Udinese. They're in the champions league so Sanchez might be happy for another season, plus it's a good opportunity for Udinese to raise his value 'again'. Also, I don't think anyone is willing to play ball with Udinese as things stand! It may take for him to run his contract down to 18 months until Udinese start realisitically thinking about doing business with another club.

Sneijder: Staying with Inter in my books. United are looking for 'value' and I don't think Sneijder provides great value considering what it would take to get him at United. He won't fancy City, and I think Chelsea are really looking at testng Tottenhams reserve for Modric.

Young: This just smells like a 'back-up' deal to me. I've got a feeling that United are trying to tie up A N Other and Young is a 2nd choice to someone else.

De Gea: As we all now by now - practically a done deal!

I think there'll be a few youth signings (£2-5m bracket), and a proven AM. My bet on the AM position would be Yoann Gourcuff. Why?... SAF's signings over the last 2 years have been very 'cloak and dagger'. Therefore I'm trying to think of someone ideal for that CM position, but hasn't been mentioned by the press as yet. SAF has praised Gourcuff previously on a number of occasions, so we know SAF's a fan. Plus with Gourcuff recently having an 'average' season, Lyon might just be interesting in doing business for a realistic price, getting some money back, and more importantly for them, give that CM space that Pjanic that he has missed this season, as unfortunately it's just not worked out for Lyon having them both in that midfield.

apparently fergie is spending as much as 100 million this summer, already spent approx 50 mill on de gea, jones and young, and is on the verge of doing 2 player plus cash deals, nani + 10mill for sneider and berbatov + 10mill for sweinsteiger, and 30 mill straight cash for sanchez. if john o shea and brown both go to sunderland then he will go for lahm aswell. got a few mates who are security guards at OT and they are all sayin that they are the main targets

I can only pray for this to be true but I honestly can't see it

Would people be happy with Khedira. IMO would be a good signing as long as not too much. Had a very good World Cup but hasn't quite clicked at Real. Could be a real opportunity for him here to fill in Hargreaves boots. Im not saying he was or wasn't at OT today but as his names cropped up thought Id get your opinions.

3 Realistic Signings

1. Jones
2. De Gea
3. Young

4. Nasri- Quickly became a target again. If not nasri, then who else?
5. Sanchez- Every1 still consider him 2 Barcelona although it has been denied. Once again, I can see SAF going out of his way getting him.

So far, If we don't sign a high end midfielder I'm not sure i can trust MU in the transfer market again. Might as well trust SAF finding youthful talent like always.

looking on the beeb gossip pages and with chelski being linked with stellar names like neymar, godin and us suposedly geting young do other people find it distresing that they are looking at quality whilst we buy mediocre wingers.Whilst i never think weel be on the same technical level as barca the likes of valencia, carrick, park (who i have great respect for and play important roles) were proven to not have the technical proficiency to atleast match them. I am not saying we need overpriced names like nasri or sanchez but we are being forced into major improvements by city and chelseas spending power.Would like to hear others opinions on our financial capabilities georgethebest

Some shirt-swapping happening this summer at United! Here's the plan ...

Van Der Sar's replacement, De Gea, will obviously be given the number 1.

It's Fabio, rather than Rafael, who will be wearing 2. He started at right back in the Champions League Final.

Evra keeps 3.

New signing, Phil Jones, will be 4, because Owen Hargreaves has left.

Ferdinand keeps 5.

Jonny Evans is moving up from 23 to 6, with Wes Brown leaving.

Michael Owen is giving up his 7 shirt to accomodate new winger, Ashley Young.
Instead Owen will wear Fabio's old number 20, which was what he wore during the '98 World Cup in scoring that amazing goal.

Anderson, Berbatov, Rooney, Giggs, Smalling, Park, Hernandez, Vidic and Carrick all stay in 8 through to 16.

If Nani does go to Inter Milan as rumoured, a new signing fills this shirt.

Scholes' 18 shirt will be filled by a new midfield signing.

Danny Welbeck keeps 19.

20 will be Owen, as mentioned above.

21 is still Rafael.

O'Shea is leaving, which means 22 is available. Ritchie De Laet will take that.

Reserves right back, Marnick Vermijl, gets 23.

Fletcher, Valencia, Obertan, and Macheda keep 24 - 27.

Darron Gibson is leaving so his 28 shirt will be worn by Oliver Norwood.

The soon-to-depart Tomasz Kuszczak's 29 shirt will be worn by goalie Ben Amos.

30 and 31 will be Ryan Tunnicliffe and Paul Pogba, the two star under-18 midfielders.

32 is still Mame Biram Diouf.

33 and 34 are still B b and Anders Lindegaard.

35 is Tom Cleverley.

36 will be Davide Petrucci.

37 and 38 are Rob Brady and Nick Ajose.

39 will be defender Reece Brown.

40 will be goalie Sam Johnstone.

41 is Josh King, but he'll be away on loan for the coming season.

42 will be Danny Drinkwater, if he stays at United.

Matt James is still 43.

44 will be Scott Wootton

45 will be Tom Thorpe

46 will be John Cofie

47 will be Michael Keane

48 is still Will Keane

49 is still Ravel Morrison

50 will be goalie Joe Coll.
---------------------------------------- Sorry to be rude but who the hell cares about shirt numbers and Fabio won't get number two just because he started the Champions League final............... {Ed007's Note - Isn't it Juve Nani, is going to?}

Stupidest comment I've ever heard! FACT, get a grip!

Believable4 Unbelievable0

09 Jun 2011 19:33:35
3/4 of these rumours are actually fact. Here goes...

David De Gea will sign in july for a fee of £18.3 million. There are 2 reasons why he has not yet signed. 1 is the fact that the transfer window rules are that you cannot sign a player from abroad until the 1st of july. The 2nd reason is because he is changing agents.

Man United are in talks with Ashley Young. I said yesterday that we won't hear anything about it until after his wedding at the weekend but it looks like Fergie wants to get this deal done a.s.a.p.

Man United have stepped up their chase for Samir Nasri. Sky Sports sources claim that Nasri has been made number 1 target to replace Scholes after the Sneijder deal stalled at his high wage demands and the fact that Harry Redknapp is reluctant to sell Luka Modric.

Those 3 are all fact. There last one is a rumour...

SAF will line up a £30m move for Alexis Sanchez. Alexis Sanchez claims he would've liked to join Barcelona but he could only see himself being wasted on the bench if he went there.

I'd love to see Sanchez at United, the lads got bags of skill! (Any thoughts Ed?) {Ed007's Note - You lost me when you said the rumours are facts!}

Why do people continue to post 'sightings' on this site in an era where nearly everyone has a mobile phone with a camera on it. The day i believe one of these OT sightings is the day it comes with a confirmation photo. Which I have yet to see on this site.

If Kaka was at OT, I think it would be being reported by SkySports, rather than the more realistic pursuit of nasri. Sadly, if Nasri and young come in, it must mean Nani is off. I think thats a shame.

We have lost scholes, van der sar and neville to retirement, giggs will be next, thats four senior players! add to that hargreaves, brown, o'shea, evans, gibson, kuszak, thats 10 players, possibley going to get rid of bebe, obertan, and maybe nani and berbatov aswell, thats a full team that he is losing so he will defo be buyin more than 6 at least! this is definitley going to be SAF's bussiest and biggest summer spending ever, he as said that there will be 3 world class signings, non of these world class players are the 3 that we have apparently already got (de gea, young, jones)
hopefully it will be 2 center midfielders and a winger/striker.
an attacking midfielder an a more defensive minded one.
im hopeing it will be either schneider or modric as the attacking, and i'd like to see bastian schweinsteiger as the more defensive. and either sanchez or nasri...

Skysports.com understands Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri.

Speculation has intimated Nasri is on United's radar and skysports.com has now learnt he is the club's top target.

Ed is this true or sky sports just chatting S**T ????

....jordan {Ed007's Note - There seems to be genuine interest, I explained before that AW had stated if Nasri and Clichy had not signed a new contract by the start of pre-season they would be sold. Arsenal were not going to risk either/both leave for free next year. Nasri, IMO was well aware of Udts interest after Patrice Evras' comments about him coming to OT "to be a king". As for Arsenal not selling to a rival, if the player wants to come to Utd (or any club) it is out of Arsenals hands. They either sell to the players preferred club or risk him digging his heels in and leaving for free next year.}

lets be honest

Kaka will not be joing us unless its for a cheap price as he fas flopped for Real and is 29 now.

Nasri, modirc and snjeider would be better additions to the squad.

Hopefully we will sign a top DM.

Think Berbatov will stay unless we get offered £12+ although be nice to offer him and carrick n abit of cash for modric but i can't seen Harry accepting that, unless it was £15-20 mill plus those two.
He would prefer Rio though.

Ed what do you think, do you think we will sign a DM we do have fletcher who is a very good player {Ed004's Note - Jones is a very good DM}

"It says on bbc gossip column that chelsea are after snijder and there officials are meeting with him, soon because his wife favours London to Manchester. But he prefers Manchester to London !!!"

@That is correct, his missus wants a career in presenting and she feels London is better for her career. Sneijder favours a move to United as he fancies the task of replacing Scholes. But what you have to remember is women always get their own way, so I would say he is hot favourite to join Chelsea.

Sanchez agrees terms with Barcelona

Alexis Sanchez has agreed personal terms with Barcelona, according to Udinese president Franco Soldati.
However, with both clubs failing to agree on the value of the player's transfer fee, Soldati admitted it does not mean that Sanchez's move from Serie A to La Liga is a done deal yet.
"From what we were told by the player's agent Fernando Felicevich, Alexis Sanchez has an agreement with Barcelona for a contract worth 3m a season. This does not necessarily mean he will go, but it is what the player wants, " Soldati said, according to Chilean source La Tercera.
"We hope to fulfil the player's wish, but I don't think negotiations will be finalized until at least the end of June."
The Udinese president added: "Sanchez's yes [to Barcelona] does not mean a yes from Udinese."
"These are two different things. We will begin talks with Barcelona and we will not stop them from speaking with the player. But we are just starting with the talks.
"If they pay us what we want then there will be no problems, but we are yet to speak about this. For the moment Barcelona are favourites to land Sanchez ahead of Juventus and Inter. These are the three clubs that are close to him, but nothing has been sealed yet in regards to a move.
"Again, this is just the start of things, but we want to finish negotiations by the end of the month. The player's opinion obviously counts, but there are other things we need to look at.
"In any case we are optimistic all will end well."
Udinese have set a price-tag of at least 30 million euros for Sanchez, and will not let the attacker leave unless that valuation is met. He has also been linked to a move to Manchester United in recent weeks.

Pple stop posting about Nasri, he is not gonna come. Do you think Arsenal would be so dumb to sell to us, unless of course we stump silly money like 35 Million. In any case, there is no agreement that can be made between the representative and MUFC, without Arsenal knowing. {Ed004's Note - Or Nasri could threaten to run down his contract for a year and leave for free, so Arsenal are not in a very strong position}

----------------

Nasir has 1 year left on his contract and Wenger said that he would rather sell them instead of letting them leave on a free.

If Nasri wants to finally win trophys and join United, he will join United. But there is still a big question mark if United is really interested in him. That said he would massively increase Uniteds creativity in the centre.

Sky Sports website is reporting Nasri is now United's no.1 target. Arsene might not want to sell to United but if Nasri pushes for it enough, he'll have to - or else let Nasri leave on a free next season ala Flamini a few years ago.

Ferguson once said he wouldnt sell Real Madrid a virus, but then sold Ronaldo as he knew the player wanted to go, and of course they got £80M.

I'm not an insider or anything, but I think if United do want Nasri they could get him for about £15M.

Guys, Am i right in saying that 2 years ago United and Sir Alex wanted Marcos Senna?

Maybe he'd be a useful addition to our squad seeing as he's on a free.

I haven't seen him play in over two years so i couldn't tell you whether or not he'd cope. All i'm saying is if Sir Alex was keen on him a couple of years ago then maybe it may consider it...

Anyway, Let's assume that the following are leaving for whatever reason, who realistically could we buy to replace them or simply could step up to the mark?

Kuszczak (Lindegaard)
Brown (Varane)
O'shea (Jones)
Gibson (Young Arriving would mean Giggs plays more central therefore meaning Giggs will replace)
Berbatov (I'd like to see Diouf do his thing but if not from inside the squad then possibly Benzema)
Scholes (I personally think Anderson will, but Nasri would be perfect)
Van Der Sar (De Gea)
Hargreaves (Simply doesn't need replacing as such but i think Jones will take his role.

tbh im a little disappointed

in all honesty would anything be being done at Old Trafford, id say more Carrington with transfer dealings. And if it was Kaka i think it has the potential to be amazing. he was the best player in the world who has had a bad year.

ed is it true that ashley young will sign for just 15m?
jones is also 15-16m and de gea is going to be just under 20m (i think) so we have spent 50m, if there is that 165m in the bank then we still have alot of it to spend.

but to be honest i think we will sign just one more player, who that is i don't know, hopefully modric/nasri.

oh and as for the strikers, hernandez will be burnt out due to the south american thing he is in and that leaves us with two good strikers berbatov and rooney, not enough imo, we need another top striker, i can't see diouff, welbeck or owen gettin more than 5 goals, and we need a striker who gets 15+, maybe aguero or benzema/higuain?

what you think ed? {Ed007's Note - I have heard £15/16m for Young. I agree with you over the Wee Pea, I have stated before about my concerns after his blistering start etc maybe forcing a dip in form at some point next season. I personally would be delighted at Higuain signing with Benzema a close 2nd in my wish list as a new striker. Erik Torres looks like he could be an outsider to come in.}

I have a "friend" in OT...SAF getting increasingly annoyed with other clubs making offers for his targets, bit of a joke, seeing as he upped the ante on Henderson! So here goes....Man Utd to blow the bank on a double swoop for 2 Midfield players, currently based in London.
ps, they play for the same team.
I know, far-fetched I know, but this is all he text me.

Man United WILL sign Sanchez. He is the brightest young star and is willing to go to United. The funds are there and he will play in the centre where he has been for Udinese all season. SAF will realise that he wont get Modric and probably not Nasri. Sneijder is not as good for United as older so lost the potential and will cost as much. Sanchez is exactly what United need right now and so we will go for him.

So phil jones has past the medical, he's signing utd shirts and apparently agreed a 5year deal. Great signing in my opinion, strong, tough tackler and young. Himself and smalling will be the future england centre halfs.

David de gea looks to have signed but there's some business to sort out involving his agent. He's denying anything but I think we can all but guarantee his signature.

Ashley youngs representatives were reportedly at old trafford today so a deal seems iminent there.

we need a creative midfielder and the names most mentioned are modric sneijder and nasri. In my opinion I would choose nasri simply because of his technique and skill on the ball, he has an eye for goal and it would give utd that spark in midfield. I'm not too sure which we would stand a chance of having.
Harry redknapp stated that whoever quoted modric for 20mil was dreaming and he wouldn't sell him for any price. He is 'irreplaceable'.
Arsene wenger said he would never sell nasri to utd but with nasri having only one year left on his contract, arsenal will be forced to sell or face losing him for free next year. Nasri seems keen on a move to utd but arsene is holding any deal up.
Sneijder seems the least likely because chelsea are to approach inter with a 30 mil bid. I've also heard maloud and essien may be part of any deal. Sneijder would prefer manchester but his wife prefers london. His wage demands may also be a problem because he wants to be one of the highest earners at utd rumourerd to be over 150k a week.

I wouldn't mind any of the 3, but deep down I would prefer samir nasri.

09 Jun 2011 13:47:21
So 12m for O'Shea, Gibson and Brown. That's a good offer for 2 players who are 30 and 31 and a player who is probably going to be 5th or 6th in the CM pecking order. If those 3 leave it's obviously freeing up wages and also could be giving the opportunity to some of our youngsters to step in occasionally. If Berbatov leaves that's another 10-15m and wages. We also have Obertan, Kuzsczak, De Laet, Drinkwater and Macheda who will all most likely be leaving that could be another 10-15m. So that's minimum of 30-35m in transfer fees alone. Put that money towards Modric and Sanchez. It's looking like Young is as good as signed. Imagine the quality we will have next season.

Gk's De Gea, Lindegaard, Amos

Df's Vidic, Ferdinand, Smalling, Evans, Twins, Evra,
Youngsters

Mf's Nani, Young, Valencia, Park, Giggs, Modric, Jones, Carrick, Fletcher, Cleverley, Anderson, Youngsters

Fw's Rooney, Hernandez, Sanchez, Welbeck, Owen, Diouf

I can't see both Modric and Sanchez being signed as I posted earlier but if we did pull out all the stops and got both of them our side would be unstoppable and have a young squad capable of dominating for years to come.

Ed - I'm not sure Barca have agreed personal terms with Sanchez. That story allegedly came from Udinese's President who has since denied it. As it was initially reported in a Chilean paper, I'd suspect it was planted by Barca. That's not to say they won't have spoken to his agent. Mundo Deportivo (effectively Barca's mouthpiece) has reported that Bojan is in talks with Udinese over a proposed move there but the Italian press is still carrying stories linking him to Roma. Most of this seems to be a typical Barca / Madrid ploy to pressure the move into happening. Interestingly, Mundo Deportivo is also reporting that Rossi has just arrived at Barcelona's airport to sign for them, which might mean their Sanchez pursuit isn't going as well as expected.

On a separate note about Modric. What Harry Redknapp says and what Harry Redknapp does have always been two completely different things. When he was at West Ham he got asked about the signing of Boogers - and said that was it for him, he wasn't ever going to sign another foreign player. Two weeks later he signed Florin Raducioiu...

DarkLard08 {Ed007's Note - Udinese are notoriously difficult to deal with. Barca and Real are, well we all know their tricks. There will probably be a lot of "leaks" from everyone involved in any deal to maximise the money involved}

"Can Manchester United keep within uefa rules sydney with all this money owed to banks lfc"

@First off, we don't owe the banks a penny. We have sold bonds to private investors. Us owing this money has no effect on the FFP rulings as current debt and interest is excluded from the calculations.

So if we use last season's turnover (£286m) as a guideline to calculate, we are £38m in the safe zone, but with our revenue about to increase dramatically, we will be at least £60m in the safe zone. In other words we could spend a net of £60m every season and still breakeven. Not bad hey?

Arsenal are the only one's that can rival us. Liverpool will make a small loss, Chelsea will make a huge loss and City will make a staggering loss. Only United and Arsenal will comfortably meet the FFP regulations.

This is what will happen next, De Gea, Young and Jones have more or less signed, thats a given. Nasri will be next to follow, his wages aren't an issue, his price tag will be less than Modric so thats why he will join. Lastly Sanchez will be signed, he will be the biggest transfer, likely to be 25 million, he favours United...imo he will be Berbatov/Macheda's replacement, he has excelled in a central position for Udinese. Playing him centrally will also mean that Nani will not be sold which is good news.

Leaving the club will be O'Shea, Brown, Gibson, Berbatov, Macheda, Obertan, Kusczack. We will get approximatly £40 million for that lot in total, that will more or less pay for De Gea, Jones and Young which will mean we will still have out £50 million budget remaining for Sanchez and Nasri.

De Gea deal is done. United and Atleti are just waiting for Jorge Mendes to take over as his agent and receive the commission. The under 21s excuse was just to mask this fact, and prevent his current agent from making any kind of legal claim. Mendes has had a hand in this deal for some time now. I also believe that the Bebe transfer was a type of holding seal for Mendes. He received over 3 million from that deal. This was to keep him on a retainer for united for other deal such a the DeGea one.

These three guys would cost around 100m euro. Remember, Barcelona showed crappy figures last summer and they had to take an emergency loan to pay wages to the players.

It looks like many of the people who think we have no money have went a little bit quiet. However, for me we still need a Scholes replacement. If we get Modric and another attacking player whether it be a winger or striker it will have been a fantastic summer. If we buy the right players now it means we don't have to spend big in the next few windows. Say we sign sanchez and modric not that I think both will happen we will have a side which can dominate for the next 5-10 years so we won't need a summer where major overhaul is required for a few years. Also happy with Phil Jones especially if we play him as a holding midfielder.

De Gea unsure over United move

Atletico Madrid goalkeeper David de Gea has thrown doubt on his proposed move to Manchester United.
The Spaniard was believed to be on the brink of a move to Old Trafford but news of a confirmed deal has been in the waiting.
De Gea is currently training with the Spain squad preparing for the European U-21 championship which kicks off in Denmark on Saturday.
When asked about a possible transfer to Old Trafford, De Gea insists he is only focused on his national duties for now and doubts whether he is the right choice for United.
"Until the Euros are finished and things calm down a bit, I don't know anything, " the 21-year-old was quoted as saying in The Sun newspaper.
"I don't know what goalkeepers Alex Ferguson likes. I'm just a normal goalkeeper, a discrete one.
"Being Atletico's goalkeeper is completely different to being United's and I'm not quite sure what he's looking for."
De Gea has became one of the most highly-rated goalkeepers in Europe and is now touted to become Spain's future number one goalkeeper, succeeding Iker Casillas.

Apparently, Manchester City's Garry Cook and Manchester United's David Gill have joined forces to defend the city of Manchester after the extraordinary outbusrst by Carlos Tevez which defamed the city.

Mr Gill Said "There are certainly more than two restaurants in Manchester, and some of them are world class"

Mr Cook said "Manchester certainly isn't small and there are lots of things to do here"

Many people around Manchester feel that Mr Tevez's tirade was grossly unfair, especially as he lives in leafy Cheshire and only enters the city to train and play.

Mr Cook added "Manchester expects an apology from Mr Tevez. This city has been good to him and he has no right to tarnish it's good name" {Ed007's Note - When did he start turning up for training I want to know? I heard he showed up for training via MSN messenger}

It would be a shame if united lost o'shea and gibbo. Irish players have always been part of united. If we let go of our traditions and history we are no better than city.

ED this is a question 4 u ??

Can you please tel me any info at all on Alexis Sanchez, like is utd interested in him, have they contacted udinese about him yet ? i would love to see him come as he is an unbeliveable player. Anything at all will be much appreciated, Thanks. {Ed007's Note - Udinese are as usual being very difficult to deal with, El Campesino have reportedly agreed a deal with the player and his agent(s), but not any deal with his club. It is a VERY cloudy situation with both Udinese and the player holding out for the best package to suit the individual interest. This could possibly roll on for a while yet IMO}

once agan what fergie has said he is now doing at the start of the season against villa fergie said he loved there counter attacking football and pace going forward and i believe nani will leave young in replacement and then all this about sanchez i think he will play central as that is where he has been incredible this season for udinese pushing him up with hernandez and rooney in behind or the other option put him in behind rooney and hernandez then swap him for young every so often putting him out wide and then central as young is good there aswell so he is going for pace counter attacking football just like he said he loved it when we drew with villa !!
