Jesus, Blair is getting even more deluded! Martin Kelly and Coates better than Smalling and Evans? Titus Bramble better than Evans? Phil Jones not good enough? Tom Cleverley not as good as Shelvey, Spearing etc.?

Honestly, Blair do you believe any of that?

Smalling is the best young defender in the Premier League. I don't see Martin Kelly playing for England. Jonny Evans isn't as bad as your making him out to be. But of course, because he plays for United, he is sh!te. Phil Jones is 19. Years ahead of him. Spearing is awful. Absolutely awful. Shelvey isn't great. But of course Blair, because he plays for Liverpool, he is brilliant.

I've often seen you come on here and laugh at United signing Carrick for 16m, Anderson for 19m, Bebe 7m, Berbatov 32m, Veron 28m etc.

Well, how about:
Henderson 16m
Downing 20m
Adam 7m
Keane 20m
Babel 8m
Johnson 19m
Diouf 10m
Dossena 5m
Carroll 35m(wow)
Riera 11m
Cheyrou 6m
Kewell 8m
Poulsen 4m
Ngog (the fact you even paid money for him is incredible)

Say we we're given £70m

Clyne - £2m
Izaguirre - £5m
Martinez - £32m
Eriksen - £21m
Higuain - £25m
Kovacic - £1.5m

Then Sell Berbatov, Bebe, Macheda etc.

De Gea
Rafael - Vidic - Ferdinand - Izaguirre
Valencia - Eriksen - Martinez - Nani
Rooney - Higuain

World Class, we'd challenge on everyfront with strength in depth, i.e Lindegaard, Jones, Smalling, Evans, Young, Anderson, Cleverley, Pogba, Giggs, Hernandez, Welbeck

thoughts sydney, eds, others...

tbir. {Ed004's Note - The exact same team I have wanted for a while now. The exact players I would buy in every position. It would be an unreal team and if Nani was to be sold which I hope he isn't I would sign either Muniain, Hazard or Rodriguez to replace him}

Before MOTD fever starts I'd just to point out that I've been going on about Diego for over a year now. and tonight you saw why. absolutely quality performance from him.

I only caught a bit of the Bilbao game but Muniain impressed with what I saw. He picks balls up and works in the space between midfield and defence and his movement was sharp, in fact he played a little and I stress a little like a right footed Messi in the way he looked for gaps and ran into them.

Martinez is wasted in defence but holding our midfield would be interesting

As a regular observer of these pages, i feel that as a red of 40 years standing, the doom mongers who regularly put the boot into sir alex need a reality check.
This is by far an average utd side, however we are level on points with the bitters going into sunday.
i can never remember a season where we have suffered as many injuries at crucial times as this season. it is a credit to sir alex and the players to still be in with SHOUT OF NUMBER 2O, 2 or 3 signings in areas need to be addressed of course and that will be done, but please all those calling for fergie to step down ...GROW UP.

I've just watched the Europa League final. We should definitely sign Iker Muniain he is absolute quality can run with the ball and pass. Was still going in the 90th minute even though his team were 3-0 down. {Ed004's Note - He showed brilliant dedication and commitment to his team all night. He never stopped running and has earned a lot more respect from me for it}

Sorry ladies but I really do have to get this off my chest.

I have read and keep reading how some of you and Sir Alex think very highly of Cleverly. Im sorry to break it to you ladies but Cleverly isn't and never will be as good as you think/hope.

I remember reading lots of posts at the start of the season saying how good Cleverly was. But as you know I have been correcting you ALL season, when you start spouting the BS. Some of you were even comparing him to Paul Scholes and had him down as an England regular and should be in Capello's plans for the Euros. lol

Now Hernandez. What has happened to this kid? Last year you were telling me 'He's world class' 'He's the bargin of the season' He's the new Gerd Muller' etc, etc. But like all the young players you have i.e Jones, Smalling, Evans lol, etc....They are not as good as you, Sir Alex and the gutter press think they are.

Last but not least the phenomenon that is 'Bebe's or as some of you Mancs like to call him 'Fergies money for his new extension'

'Fergies Kids' indeed. lol

Just wondering what your dream (but realistic) team for next season mine would be
De Gea
Rafael Vidic Rio Izzaguirre
Martinez strootman

Valencia Kagawa Nani

Rooney

Ins :
Izzaguirre 5m (10m max)
Martinez (marquee signing) 35m
Strootman 12m (18m max)
Kagawa 7m (last year of contract)
Youth striker 5(max 10m)
Spent: about 65 million

Outs:
Berbatov 5m (max 7m)
Owen (free)
Macheda (loan) (last chance)
Kuszack (free)
Wooton (free)
If we sign james Rodriquez or gaitan I expect nani or young to leave
I think we could propbably get 35m for nani and for young 20-25

Wonder What any of use think ??

I think this would be a good team for the 2012-2013 season.
DDG
Clyne Vidic Jones Evra

Carrick Strootman

Valencia Kagawa Young

Rooney

This team has an AVERAGE AGE OF 22/23, which is incredible. Carrick and strootman can hold, and the 4 up top can interchange and play some free flowing stuff. it will be pretty cheap too, looking at these INS AND OUTS:

IN: Strootman (15m) Outs:
Kagawa (7m) Berbatov (8m)
Clyne (1.5m) Ferdinand (2m)
Total:23.5m Owen, macheda(free)

Hazard is overrated, if you look at the videos kagawa is as good if not better. If fergie wants, he may splash more cash and go with gaitan for 22m aswell, leaving a possible exit for nani. i think this is a young and very good team, who can CONQUER EUROPE FOR UTD ONCE AGAIN! GGMU.

Can I just ask a United fan what this Bel20ve business was about if anyone of you know? I may be a bit late to ask but I have only recently seen it and I am thoroughly confused.

Champ19ns kinda worked for you because I looks like 1 and 9 is kinda similar to 0 in a way.

But seriously how do the letters I and E look in any way, shape or form like 20? If this is real and was used I am ashamed of the imagination of today's fans because you might as well do Man20ster for all the sense it makes.

BREAKING NEWS:

City fans have agreed, in priciple, to a one year contract extension to support the club if City win the league. There were strong rumours earlier that they wanted to return to support Chelsea, but they were swayed by the guaranteed Champions League football on offer next season!

In other news, Liverpool supporters believe that next year will be "their year" again, or how Liverpool supporters would say "there year"!

Finally, Eden Hazard has stated that he will be wearing blue next season. However Sky sources believe that if a team in either red, orange, green, purple, yellow, white, cerise or any other colour, were to offer him more money he will be happy to wear that colour as well, as he has always wanted to play for the club (insert name) whos "project" (finances) gives him the most medals (dosh)!

Hi red devil 19 it was me who had the friend who works for seg the football agency who represent van pirse and I have spoke to him again the other day and he is adamant that the talks have taken place between united and the players reps and that they went really well, he also remained firm on his stance that talks with city were not so positive and that at the min he is highly unlikely to go there and he said at the min there are two possible outcomes to the contract talk with arsenal one being he stays there the other he cones to us, and he said juventus are interested but the player was not keen for seg to speak to them.

He does talk shut sometimes but to be fair he defo works there and does seem to now know alot of directors and football games and can any ticket you ask him so he must be moving up the ladder.

Looking to my own views on what I hope we bring in this summer I don't think we are in for hazard think that is a smoke screen I think we will bring three or four of these players from this list:

Van Pirse
Gaitan
Modric
Kagawa
Barkley
Izzaguire

If we could get there or four of those in and keep hold of pogba that would be a fantastic summer and have me very excited about our squad for the future and have a team ready after one more season to pep guardiola or even in a more ideal world he would also join in the summer to work under sir Alex for a year or two.

Win or lose the league let's all hope for positive summer that will gets all excited for the new season at home and in Europe

Is there any updates on the Pogba saga? Also i saw an interview on youtube when Cleverly was injured, the interviewer asked when he expects to be back. The woman along side him (I assume to be his agent) dived in immediately and said "no further questions, we don't want to discuss this". Why are they so coy about this matter and what would it harm to give a clear answer to what seems to be an innocuous question?

If only 'Owen Hargreaves' had stayed fit since that 07-08 season we wouldnt have to see this situation of City being in a position to win the league.

Since I started watchin United(04-05) the 07-08 has been my most favourite season and my top 3 performers of that season :

1. Cristiano Ronaldo
2. Nemanja Vidic
3. Owen Hargreaves

I was just wondering what do people think about Manchester B (Sunderland) possibly giving us a big helping hand at the weekend, and conceding a large goal count. Unlikely, but with O'Shea and Brown only recently going there, I'm sure that the majority of the team would rather see the red half of manchester lift the title

I was just talking to a friend at work, he thinks much the same as me in that Hazard and Kagawa will be the two main signings with a utility defender to come in as well as Clyne. The interesting point that we were talking about was Cristian Eriksen. He has said that he will stay at Ajax for a year and it is true that we are keeping tabs on him. This year will definatly be the last of Giggs and Scholes, Carrick will be nearing an end, we might lose Pogba and Fletcher. I think that by next year we may just have Cleverly, Anderson, and Carrick. Next year i think will be the final rebuild from SAF on the midfield, Eriksen and Barkley being the final pieces of the jigsaw. That would leave us with a team of this when SAF retires in two or three years:

GK: De Gea, Lindegaard

Def: Rafael, Fabio, Clyne, Vidic, Smalling, Evans, Jones, (new left back + utility player), Fryers.

Mid: Valencia, Nani, Young, Hazard, Kagawa, Cleverly, Carrick, Anderson, Barkley, Eriksen.

For: Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez, Keane, (Powell? Henriquez?).

That would be a great squad for someone like Mourinho, Guardiola or someone to inherit. Full of youth and ability as well as plenty of talent. There woudl still be some experienced players in there like Rooney, Vidic, Evans, Valencia etc. Rebuilding will by no means be finished this year, wait to see the end product come together in the 2013/14 season and we will all be very happy.

Actually I posted about last summers transfers to clarify the cost, very little increase in wages and that net fees would have been 40m. That was all, no conspiracies there

Yes United have offloaded some deadwood last year, but wages have risen by a massive 17% than last year. Hardly "very little" increase is it?

watch out for a sudden announcement that McBluster is retiring at the end of the season !

He knows that with the squad he has and the tight grip on finances by the 'no value in the market' Glazers he is very unlikely to get anywhere near 2nd next year.
That will be bad enough for him but the realization that his team will be the 2nd team in Manchester for the forseeable future will leave him wanting to get out so the blame can lie with the new man. I would think that Mourinho would have just the right amount of class to follow Ferguson but I don't think he would be stupid enough to fall for that stitch-up

How much do we ACTUALLY need Hazard? I'd say Javi Martinez is more important. The midfield problems costed us the season. Kagawa is also important. If Hazard wants to come, then great, pay the 35 million. If he doesn't, don't beg, it should be his honor to play for Manchester United. And if we're buying him for the sake of bringing in a star, then bring Christian Ericksen who is young with potential (just like SAF likes him) But that best part is that Ericksen isn't a "promise", he is already a class player. This would be my ins:
Kagawa
Javi Martinez (If Athletic don't release them, we still have to look for another player to cover that position, as it is very important)
Christian Ericksen
Hazard (IF he wants to and it's a reasonable price. None of that cheap begging)
Subotic/Hummels or any defender for when Ferdinand and Vidic get injured, because let's be honest, it's bound to happen.

@Red man..... In the past 12 months we have given our entire squad a new contract extension. Everyone apart from Nani and Rooney who signed theirs in 2010. It was the right time to sell John and Wes, not everything is a conspiracy. All self sufficient clubs balance the books, it's what we done under Edwards and when we were a plc. It's perfectly normal, you do not have to make everything sound so sinister.-MB-

Mac"

Sorry it's taken awhile to reply Mac mate. If you looked at my post i didn't have either Valencia or Gaitan as wing backs but a wingers who would have to be positionally astue. The formation i had we more a 3-2-3-2 formation with three at the back in Smalling Vidic and Vertonghen, two central midfielders in Carrick and Cleverley, then we had an attacking midfield three of Valencia Kagawa and Gaitan with Rooney and Welbeck playing infront of them. It's a compact team with players who can add width but carries a strong threat through the middle.
It's not how i think we should or could line up next year more a disscussion of how we could potentially play if we were to use three centre backs.

As for Gaitan, i have watched a fair bit of him and not just in the Champions league. He has impressed me while also still having area's he needs to work on. You need to bear in mind he's only been a proffessional for about three years and will bloom as a player at an older age to most because of that. I wouldn't be against signing him, but i would expect if he came it would be at the expense of Nani. Do we need to take a gamble on a player who may not be any better than Nani just maybe a left footed version. I'd prefer to keep Nani another year and sign Yarmolenko instead, he'd be half the price of Gaitan and can play as a lone front man too which would be a huge bonus.
