Ed002, if I could pick your brain for a couple of minutes. How does managers compensation work when they're sacked? I've read varying answers over the years from a full payout of the remainder of their contract, to them still getting paid weekly until they find a new job.

Is it all in the fine print of the contract or is it full payment straight out?

Thanks.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It depends on the individual contracts and can have fixed fees (typically sliding) that vary depending on targets being met or not, or can be a simple calculation based on wages and and bonuses that may be payable. It is can be a single payment or spread over a period. It is often open to negotiation.}

With Monaco potentially sacking Louis litt (Jardim) would he be an option to replace mourinho should he leave?

Would love jardim I think he’s a very good manager. Near on impossible job with his best players being sold every year for big profits. He beat PSG to the title a few years ago so has trophy credentials.

wouldnt mind seeing the 4-4-2 formation at old trafford.

Any of the Ed's know if Jardim is getting sacked? And i think he would be an excellent replacement, makes sense especially if Monaco get rid of him as French media is reporting. But we'd need a DOF if he was to come in.

I’d like him so that when he turns out useless you lot will stop banging on about him.

You're that sure FZZ? Stupidest thing i've ever seen on this page, want a possible manager to fail at the club so we stop banging on about him, makes sense.

Think you missed the point scholes as usual. And ill spell it out for you, he's over rated. There you go.

He has won nothing, and his current side sit 18th in the table. You think we are going to go for a manager like this?

Think you need to look up jardim again FZZ. He won Ligue 1 2 years ago. Against the financial might of PSG that was an incredible experience. He also knocked out pep’s city in the champions league and reached the semis. He is a very talented young manager. Is it a risk to appoint him on the back of a poor season? Sure. But we’ve been down the experienced route of a manager with trophy credentials. Jardim would most probably get more out of the attacking player. One final point, Klopp in his final season almost got Dortmund relegated. Yet he walked into the Liverpool job and has done a very good job since being there. I doubt Liverpool had reservations that Klopp was a poor manager because of 1 poor season. Let’s not be a prisoner of the moment and forget about the good that jardim has done. Jardim is very highly rated and would be a great fit for united, provided he has a good director of football to work with.

Park,

Yes he won against the "might" of PSG that just got played off the park by Liverpool. Liverpool are in the same league as little and lonely Leicester.
Let me ask you who had the better achievement, Ranieri or Jardim? Shall we go for Claudio as well?

They beat city on away goals drew 6-6. Klopp finished 7th Park, no achievement no, but its not close to being relegated.

FZZ compare the financial backing of Monaco and PSG. There front three alone costs more than monaco’s Whole squad. Liverpool as well are on a different level in terms of stature of club than Monaco. Not sure how you can even compare the two. It’s apples and oranges really. Just a bit of snobbery tbh looking down on winning the French league with a team that is not PSG.

And of course I don’t want Ranieri, nor am I taking away from him his miracle of a title win at Leicester. I’m not basing my opinion on jardim purely winning the league. There is so much more to him which makes him an attractive fit for united. He plays attractive football and has a track record of developing young talent (James, Bernardo Silva, martial, mbappe, Mendy and so on) . Is this not in keeping with the traditions of our club? Do we not aim to promote from within and develop potential into work class talent? Jardim ticks a lot of boxes for the sort of manager we should be employing at our club. He is young enough to imprint his philosophy on the club as well as to grow and be moulded by the values and traditions of united. Yes he has had a poor season this year, but I seem to remember we hired a certain manager off the back of a terrible season. Not sure why the idea of jardim is so outrageous to you.

Whilst its the international break, has anyone had the chance to read the extracts of Michael Carrick's book being serialised in the Times?

Putting aside that any profits from the book will go to the Michael Carrick Foundation (which is fantastic) it's hard to read about how low he was after Rome 2009. Here is a guy who has done fantastically well for the club but has suffered after blaming himself for the loss. He should, and rightly so IMO, go down as one of the greatest midfielders we've ever had. Every time you see him interviewed he comes across as intelligent, compassionate and genuine. I hope he is involved with our Club for a very long time. The only player who comes close at the moment in terms of how they carry themselves is Juan Mata. Just wish we could tell Carrick that Rome wasn't his fault - we came up against one the very best teams of all time, and he'll always be a United Legend.

Good post, Becks. Respect for Carrick has been late in coming, but nowadays it seems he is far more appreciated than he was in his prime.

Is Herrera career at Manchester United over?

Why he ins't playing more regularly?

With so many players under performing why not use more of Fred, Pereira and Herrera?

If he leaves I hope he finds a great club, he's very professional and cool guy.

Herrera is a squad player so is used accordingly I guess. The lad gives his all when he does play and seem to love the club and we do need players of that kind, it’s not all about big names as Pogba has proven, I known hich one i'd prefer in my team, but that’s how far we are away, Herrera probably is a very good squad player yet he’s more effective than our so called star names.

He has been injured in recent weeks and so that is why he has not figured.

A squad player but if fit should probably get more game time while Matic is so poor.

I’ve always felt Herrera is a more consistent performer than many of our other midfield players, but he’s under 6ft, so can't expect him to be first choice. I think Fred will find himself in the same predicament.

Although we don’t know the reasons it is concerning that we spend over £50M on a midfielder in the summer and then he seems to spend a large amount of time on the bench.

I thought in recent games his speed and energy was much needed in the midfield. I was crying out for him against Valencia.

Don’t know how we expect players to bed in when we don’t give them game time.

Just very frustrating feel that Dalot and Fred could both play more with how poor we have been playing.

Danny, Herrera if exactly 6ft. Smlow Motion; I'd love to see a midfield of Fred, Pereira and Herrera. Plenty of pass and move with those three.

Mourinho getting charged for THAT Ed001? That is ridiculous, actually bordering on a f'in joke, Pep got about 100 different warnings last year despite bringing politics into football, Conte jumped like a maniac on the touchline and in front of the officials for 2 years without a punishment. FA is run by absolute persons! Like last year, step a yard out of the touchline vs Southampton and got a ban, bloody hell!

We talked about Hazard just yesterday ed1 and how great a start he is having this year and Boom he again says he wants to play for Real as it's his dream. I take credit for this haha.

Also ed1 I remember when you guys were linked with Chilwell people were saying ahh a kid a random name who can't even break into the Leicester team, he is not a good player not good for Liverpool blah blah blah. You always maintained he was a good prospect and now proving you right finally.

{Ed001's Note - yeah it is nice to be proven right.}
