Probably usual Internet rubbish but apparently we are working on a deal for Bilbaos Laporte and are getting closer.
Now could be rubbish, could be with a view to the summer but i know some of you guys rate him. not seen enough myself to judge.

With Bilbao the "talks" tend to go like this.

"his buy out clause is x amount and we won't accept a penny less"

So we know what the fee is, it's just paying it.

I didn't think we would have approached them yet if we are going to at all.

I would have thought our need was more for someone experienced rather than a 20yo half way through his second season.

Thanks for reply. I guess we know how Bilbao work now so.if we are interested for the summer starting discussions soon wold be advisable.

Was just wondering if any interest we have in howedes is dependent on schalke signing nastasic?

Also do you have any update on progress we are making with regards to any negotiations for a new CB

Does anyone have any information on Vertonghen?

Champions league level, - excels as a ball playing defender?

- In other words, good enough to make our first team, and perfectly suited to Van Gaal's system.

In the present market, and this being Spurs last chance for 20 or so million, surely this one is a no-brainer for both teams?

Spurs are lucky - we are probably desperate enough to pay anything up to £25 million (max.) - We are lucky, there is at least something available!

Ed's it is in the media that bayern are interested in Varane, is this true? I would have thought if he were to move to buyers it would be similar to RM in that there will be strong competition for playing time.

Or is this an attempt to get other teams to firm up their interest and make a move?
