Hey Ed or Syd,
Any news on gaitan situation? I thought there was an unofficial aggreement with the player aggreeing to personal terms in December?
YankSAW {Ed002's Note - Manchester United and Barcelona are both interested in the winger but PSG may be the first to put an offer on the table. Asking price is an issue. My understanding is that Manchester United and PSG have spoken with Benfica but no bid has been made. Barcelona are also interested but I suspect would like to wait until the summer. Napoli may well become interested as well.}

Apparently the Ronaldo rumours are all around the Spanish press now, including Marca who often know whats going on. Its picking up pace, please please let it happen - we'd be feared once again. I think something like 60 million + Hernandez could do it, or just straight cash.

Believable5 Unbelievable16

Are you mad? We don't have 60 million cash.

Agree13 Disagree6

Dream on.....we all wish but it wont happen

Agree14 Disagree2

So Hernandez is only valued at £20 million providing real madrid want to recoup their £80 for him or utd are looking to pay £90/100 million for a player they used have! I really doubt it

Agree15 Disagree2

Some people chat utter s--t

Agree12 Disagree3

The Ronaldo money is and has always been there for us to use incase he ever wanted to come back. Personally can't see it myself though would love it too.

United Till I Die 1987

Agree6 Disagree5

Wouldnt it be a good business deal for the glazers? bring in more revenue. higher likely hood of winning a champ league, epl.

rddu

Agree1 Disagree1

Ronaldos value may increased since he left us. A 50 odd a season goalscorer hitting his peak at 27 in the current market with the reported figures for other players he must be worth at least what we sold him for. Although whether fergie would see this as " value in the market" I think is doubtful especially as say he does sign plays for 3 years what the difference in resale figure would be a huge loss. However fegie doesn't need to worry about that as he will be off by then.

Agree3 Disagree1

We'd be lucky to get £20million for Hernandez - he can't hit a barn door this year and his first touch is terrible.

Agree6 Disagree6

Hope fergy put a clause in the deal, which allows us to bring him back for the same price. however i am not a big fan for bringing players back for more than you sold them. why should we be his safe option, as he knows hes got an instant spot. we where the ones that had to re-build when he left, how will valencia and nani feel, when they had such a big contribution in the team for the past two years.
great player, love him to bits, but it would be desperate from us. just look at the youth and their is some class talent, which will prefer to stay with the club they supported all their life.

'No Contract Offer to talk about' Ravel Morrison Tweeted this in the past hour.

PRR8

Believable7 Unbelievable2

Supposedly united are reluctant to give him a contract because if he gets into any serious trouble within the next month he could face jail time..

Not sure i buy that, surely some sort of clause could be inserted if they are that worried, if that's possible?

Taff

Agree3 Disagree4

Morrison is on probation until Feb. Anymore scrapes with the law between now and then will see him in smokey.
Hence, no contract offer....yet.

Agree3 Disagree0

I don't understand all this contract talk nonsense. United haven't offered him another contract yet. They will do in the coming months. There is a reason behind this, let's just say it's to do with his previous criminal activities.

United Till I Die 1987

He tweeted the other day that 'the only shirt he'd wear in a mess about is barca or united'. Shows that Barca would probably interest the lad.. Hopefully him and Pogba sign contracts and everything is cleared up soon

I was at TGI Fridays tonight and was sat opposite Pogba. Had a picture with him and said to him 'Hope you sign a contract Paul.' He just smiled and then said bye when he was going. Seems like a nice guy but I dont know anything about the situation.. If he was out tonight doesn't that mean that he will be on the team at the weekend? As the reserves normally play in the week?

********** reports that SAF is weighing up a £10m move for Shawcross and monitoring Lampard's situation at Chelsea ready to bring him to OT......Edd? {Ed007's Note - Don't believe that site.}

Believable3 Unbelievable14

They said nasri was our top transfer target in the summer, if that was true he would be at old trafford now.

Agree5 Disagree11

Would love to see Shawcross come as he is what we are missing at centre back somebody who will put thier body on the line for the cause himself and Smalling would be my centre backs for the rest of the season, we dont want Lampard not good enough for Chelsea not good enough for us. I cant see us siging anybody this window as I think we will wait till the Summer and go for Modric Scjhder etc, I also think thats the way its going to be, 3 signings a season about £30-50 million to spend with the way our finances are really cant believe the biggest club in football has been reduced to this.

Demba Ba will not be joining United, what we need are midfielders (Tiote and Modric would be my choice) and maybe a defender (Benatia would be my choice). We won't be buying a striker unless a few of ours leave (Macheda, Diouf, Owen, Berbatov)

Oh before I forget Ed/Syd! have we ever scouted Mauricio Isla to your knowledge? The kids amazing.

United Till I Die 1987

Believable2 Unbelievable6

We certainly have in the past, we were scouting him and Sanchez. Not sure if we have scouted him lately mind.

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree1

UTID 1987

When has that ever mattered in recent times?! We've needed midfielders for 3 years and SAF has done nothing about it - what makes you think things will change now? I for one think it's FAR more likely we see Demba Ba for £7million or something than for us to sign a quality CM.

I'm sick of getting my hopes up, IMO it's not gonna happen.

Sydney can u update the contract situation with morrison and pogba

SOS

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I don't know to be honest, I know United have sat down with Pogba, he rejected the last offer, but SAF said he isn't that worried because he has an option to extend his contract to June 30th 2013. Ravel is contracted til 2014, not sure United will be sitting down with him for a couple of years yet.

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree2

If anybody had sense to read these articles about their contracts they would realise that they are from the Sun, Daily Mirror/Sport etc. it is all sh1t that morrison has rejected a new deal.

Morrison is set to leave Man Utd after his contract talks collapsed, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan want him, plus Bayern Munich also want Berbatov and Shaqiri

Believable2 Unbelievable14

Rio tweeted the following this morning:
"Certain kids need their heads banging, they don't see what they got within reach, if only they FOCUSED 100%. Fix up, Make It Count."
Obviously, this could be about any number of things but it did make me think of Morrison.

Tweet Rio back and tell him to sit those 2 down with scholes and giggs and explain a few things...........
they need to realise that YES they are part of the future of the club and that even if they sign a 4 year contract it can be changed in 1 year if they excel next season.......and then they will get even more....
god I would play for 15k a year

oxred

Agree6 Disagree0

Morrisons contract runs to 2014 confirmed by his own agent.pogbas doesnt end until summer 2013.
johndenton

Agree3 Disagree0

I wouldn't worry about either Pogba or Ravel's situation, around Carrington there isn't much of a worry. If you watch Pogba's interview from last month and you read Ravel's tweets, they are both happy and why wouldn't they be, they could be playing regularly for Manchester United within a year.

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree0

I hope you're right Syd. If either left I would start to think United isn't the place to be anymore.
When you look at our midfield, you'd think they would get 1st team football sooner at United than any other top club.
Dingle

Agree1 Disagree0

They would never get on the bench for City, they wouldn't at Barcelona either, not because they are not good enough, but because Mancini will not promote youth when he has unlimited funds available and in Barcelona's case they wouldn't make the bench due to their huge amount of talent and the fact they like Spanish speaking players on the pitch. Pogba and Morrison would get more chances at United than anywhere else IMO.

Sydney!

Agree5 Disagree2

It's the media, blowing things way out of proportion as per.

Ozwald

Agree4 Disagree2

Get your points but I would certainly be wondering why Park and Raphael were playing ahead of me in the centre of midfield if I was them, also Gibson tbh. Fergie doesnt seem to trust them in the 1st team yet but its exactly the area we need backup!

Woffsta

Agree2 Disagree0

If this is true then screw the little s**t. The support he has been given by both the club and SAF throught his "escapades" he should be more greatful and show a damn site more respect.

If Morrison truely is pulling the crap then let him go - his career will spiral as he's still to immature to be able to cope with the support network he currently has being at OT.

Fed up of seeing all these pre-madonna ungrateful little b**tards taking the pi55 out of the clubs that have provided the expertise and training to improve on what "skill" they had.

If he does sign the contract then i apologise for my misunderstanding of the situation but i won't be saying thank you for doing so. As it is you who should be grateful for being given the chance of a career at one of the most decorated clubs of all time.

MONK

Agree7 Disagree0

Sorry ED's

Add to my previous post - Rio may be losing his pace but atleast this guy has some respect for the team he plays for and gratitude at being given the opportunity to play at such a prestigious club.

We all like for our club to be taking trophies home but in all honesty what i go to see is 11 men on the pitch fighting for a club they love and respect. (granted the start of the year seemed like the players had had a lover tiff over christmas dinner and weren't speaking to each other!) But were are back on track.

Question for anyone! Why are we famous for late victories? Answer: our players give their all for their club and will fight even when it looks like all hope is lost! That kind of service you cannot buy!

City may win trophies but without players who love your club they will be hollow victories - trophies won by merceneries only interested in self gain.

MONK

Agree6 Disagree1

MONK - I agree with you totally here. If Morrison is doing this with regards to a new a contract, then let himm go. We don't need players like this at our club. especially after all the support that has been given to this little upstart! The same goes to Pogba too. If you don't wanna sign then see ya! We are MANCHESTER UNITED bigger than any player and if you don't wanna sign for us then don't want you or need you.

We'll never die, keep the red flag flying high ----- Red Pedro

Hi ed, do you know who has bid 42 mill/£34 million for Di Maria. Marca Madrids paper has run this stating it's come from an un-named english club. It's it Chelsea? One site has it coming from us. I know we bid for him when at benfica with a package including nani. I can't see it being from us with other area's more urgent for additions.

Supasub {Ed007's Note - It will be Man City. He is their main target. City were trying to negotiate a swap deal involving Di Maria and Tevez before Tevez's refusal to play escapade.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

This was discussed last night on sky by Guillem Balague. The offer being mentioned for di maria was from Chelsea, and this has been dismissed as rubbish and not going to happen...
same as Suarez to madrid.
Kaka having talks with PSG and not chelsea, but he wants to stay at madrid. but if anyone offers 20million madrid will accept.
while on subject of madrid Soldado and Higuain wont be leaving in this window.

There was rumours of MUFC bidding for Martinez hi bayout is 40m, but again no offer been made but athletic say not leaving in Jan, but didnt confirm if this wont happen in summer.

Hope this clears a few things up, after the show on sky, he also tweeted all his answers to questions if anyone wants to re-check.

Whether you like him or hate him, when it comes to spanish transfers, Guillem is usually 99% correct.

Jay

Agree4 Disagree0

Martinez is still contracted for 4 years and non-spanish clubs can not meet the buy out clause in his contract so it would take a big offer to get him in the summer.... 40euro or £35m is the figure that they would be looking for.

If we could sign him on a 6 year contract and tie him down for a long period I would pay that for him... he would offer us so much in the middle

demba ba is a must, i know we have plenty of good strikers but when a striker like him becomes available (due to contract clause) then we should seriously go for him.
he is a complete striker.
heading, volley, freekicks, strong, quick, tall, good shot on him, and he is consistant.
rooney,welbeck,hernandez,ba..

Believable8 Unbelievable10

I disagree, anyone can have a good first season, just look at hernandez - he has been piss poor this season, the same can be said for suarez in fairness, his lack of goals has been shocking for the scousers this season. Demba Ba has also failed quite a few medicals in the past due to his knee which is something you would be foolish to ignore. He's not the answer, we should only be interested in the very elite as they are the ones who win the trophies.

Flimbo

Agree4 Disagree1

Hernandes has been injured for most of the season plus we dont need ba because welbeck is better than him

Agree5 Disagree2

I think that demba ba has a physical presence that you need. I say we get rid of berbatov and bring ba in and the price is brilliant!!

Agree2 Disagree3

Rose tinted glasses... not every player we have is better than everyone else'..

ba is a class striker and i would love to see him at OT.. for 7-10m he should be considered...

I'm sick of readin stuff about Morrison. He has had a few issues with the law so people decide to write bad stuff about him. no one actually has a clue, especially the newspaper. Not sure why everyone is getting caught up in a player who has never even played for us.

A Premier League club is ready to offer a massive €42 million to prise Angel di Maria away from Real Madrid.

Marca says the interest has turned Di Maria's head, with the midfielder now seriously considering a new career in England.

While the club has not been named, Di Maria is admired by Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson and Chelsea's Andre Villas-Boas.

Ferguson tried for Di Maria while he was with Benfica, while AVB knows the Argentine well from his time in Portugal and Chelsea made contact with the winger only in the summer.

At the time, Di Maria wasn't interested in a move away. But now his situation has changed and with no progress over new contract talks being made, is seriously considering a move to England this month.

NOW HERE'S SOMETHING HILARIOUS

Liverpool have offered Andy Carroll back to Newcastle United for a cut-price £20 million.

The S*n says former club Newcastle would be willing to buy back the England striker.

But for an astonishing £10 million.

The dramatic development comes after a top agent rang the club to offer them 23-year-old Carroll for just £20m.

Newcastle flatly rejected the idea and a further proposal of £15m plus add-ons.

They are prepared to offer £10m, though, for Carroll — who was a hero on Tyneside and would welcome a move back to his native North East.

Newcastle refused to comment publicly but a Toon source said: "Andy's a Geordie boy and it would be great to bring him home.

"But while he left on his terms he'd have to come back on ours."

Carroll would have to take a massive cut to his £90,000-a-week wages to return to Toon and finally end his Anfield nightmare.
LOLZzzzzzzz

People in football are becoming more and more impatient. I remember SAF saying exactly this! Andy Carroll hasn't even has ONE full season at lpool.

Redcore you must be feeling quite embarrassed now that all parties involved have rubbished these reports. Newcastle have officially (not some made up "source") said they have had no contact of the sort, his agent said he's happy at Liverpool, who themselves keep repeating that Carroll is there for the long term... Jack Rodwell and Stephen Ireland are rumoured to be under serious consideration by SAF but injuries are putting any moves in doubt. Both have stuggled for fitness lately and with Rodwell being priced at 20m its unlikely to happen but Ireland is seen is a very realistic target. Ive heard this from a mate in funnily enough, ireland! He has no links or any evidence of this but thought he'd share the rumour. Dont shoot the messenger guys. The Stephen Ireland one is a complete shock for me and id never have even thought of him but 2-3 seasons back he was class! Anybody heard anything similar?

Believable3 Unbelievable11

Oh god please no, over-rated rodwell and cueball ireland are both average..

Agree9 Disagree1

I heard that Ireland is going to have a full medical scan from Villa and then it is going to be sent to Manchester Utd to scan as Utd do not want another Owen Hardgreaves, Talks are that he will be signing pending fitness for £5 Million.

Agree4 Disagree3

Could somebody with some sanity please say where this has come from this seems really unrealistic as he has been struggling for form and starts at villa Ed can you shed some light thanks {Ed007's Note - I have no idea where it has come from. It's news to all of us.}

Agree1 Disagree0

Could live with Ireland for 5m but would rather some steel in there as well so instead of Rodwell id prefer Fellaini bigger stronger scores more technically as good and still only 23.

Agree2 Disagree2

Ireland is a nutter, completely away with the birds - pretty much lamponed in Ireland over the 'my gran is dead' fiasco. He was a decent player while at City thou and for £5mill he would be worth a gamble - remember we paid £7mill for Bebe! He seems to need a certain type of man management though and Fergie would have his work cut out (can you imagine a Utd player posing like he did in his recent Twitter pic!?). Certainly better than Gibson!
