Eds , a bit off topic from the OP, but is there really any benefit from having the agree / disagreement boxes?
The above post is probably the best example yet of how this option is completely misused in many cases.
This is not a whinge or a moan , just an observation.

nothing wrong with having agree/disagree boxes because this site is all about opinions which people may or may not share. Maybe it could be improved by only allowing a disagree to be counted if it accompanied with a reason why. I posted 'my opinion' regarding our striker situation this morning, 2 people have disagreed without putting why. They maybe right and i maybe wrong but unless they give their reasoning we can't have a constructive debate which is surely what the banter site is all about.

I have never looked at stuff like that, perhaps people should just grow up and stop worrying if people agree or disagree? Better to have the button, rather than just people saying I agree or I disagree as was happening previously. Other than that, who are you to say people should type something? Why should they? They might not care enough to bother getting into a discussion about it, but just want to disagree. On posts like this, I agree we do need to have some kind of system to disable them, other than that, does it matter?}

reporting that Ramos to us is very much still on. In fact he is saying that regardless of what is being put out there it is just on hold whilst the DDG situation is resolved. once done it will go through.
Not sure how reliable he is. just passing on what i have read.

I think de geas gone and if we're getting the athletico Madrid keeper oblak then we should all be very happy this kids going to be a better keeper than DDG don't forget DDG improvement I is down to LVGS goalkeeping coach so if we get oblak he will be best GK in the world after a cpl years use will all be saying David who this kids the real deal guys I hope we get him

dwill.i had aconversation with friend asking that same question. We came to the conclusion that Ddg is not so connected to Athletico that the pull of a return would work with him. i don't think it ended great for him there.
On a side note Athletico do have an eye for,a young goalkeeper whether owned or loaned!!

I believe les reeds interview with sky also answers this I believe he said we had been talking not necessarily negotiating but there have been talks about schneiderlin maybe schweinsteiger is why we haven't bid. yet, also andy mitten (tends to be reliable) says we are still interested and player has made his desire to join known

An agent has just said schneiderlin is in advanced talks with us and arsenal if that's the case then I think we're going to lose out its like depay when he chose van Gaal over Rogers because he's Dutch think the same will apply with wenger and the French connection once again we have left it too late instead of just paying the money when we were the only ones in for him

reporting that we still want to bring Schneiderlin to United despite Bastian coming in. Really hope we manage to get him. A midfield of Carrick, Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin, Herrera, Blind, and Mata suddenly looks very strong

Red faith.Great signing ?. He is 30 years old , played less games each season then the previous season , looks to me he has come for one last hurrah. Would you pick him i front of Carrick , Herrera , Mata. We are supposed to be building for the future , not building a team of has been's. Yes in his day he was a great player , but he has gone past his sell by date . I'd prefer schnerdelein ( spelling ) myself . But hey ho I've been wrong before

Ed007 totally agree!Certainly would like to see an other mid, schniederlin? My choice would be Naingolan as I think he has the tenacity to his game to get stuck in win the ball and upset the opposition- we can then , (hopefully) see depay, and other forwards do their stuff. Not convinced on the other forward players we will have at our disposal but hope to see a new face and still think ADM might be involved in that or another deal. Rooney will imo, play less football this year than in previous years

He is still a great player, and if he is being signed in addition to Schneiderlin,that is fantastic.
I'm concerned though that he will be instead of Schneiderlin, and I think that would be a huge mistake.
Great though he is Schweinsteiger is not going to fill that role when Carrick isn't available, and not having a suitable understudy for Carrick was one of our biggest problems last year.
Still,Scweinsteiger and Herrera with Carrick/Scheiderlin sitting behind them would be a superb midfield.

I'd say both bastian and Carrick are on the same level, maybe bastian just shades it, barely!
But he is a couple of years younger and is perfect for the next few years, it's about the now as LVG knows he has to deliver something this season.
World class centre midfielder, I can't see how anyone would be disappointed with this

Personally I'm over the moon we've got BS absolute quality, experience, the complete midfielder imo but what's this? MY GOD! he's THIRTY!! Ahhhhhh please. Obviously van gaal and his firm have watched him to make sure he's still committed to the game, they didn't ring his mum and ask if he fancies a kickabout. Come on, please give the manager of the best club in the world some credit and don't doubt the level of intelligence a manager of his level must posses.

If BS brings his attitude and winning mentality he Will be a Great addition. I see him sharing the number 6 duties with Carrick and occasionally playing in tandem.
I also hope we bring a box to box In, Schneiderlin hopefully.

Cant believe people are comparing carrick to schweinsteiger!!! Bs is streets ahead. Carrick has had a couple of good seasons since he's switched to a holding role but on the whole he has been average. His nickname was carrick the crab for christ sake! Get with it ppl

Personally see both carrick and BS playing together. BS is more box to box than Cdm for me. Also think it will help carrick as he is much better with a forward thinking passer(scholes)
I think it will be blind to cover Cdm and Lb.
Then it'll be between mata and Herrera for acm role.
Herrera can also play box to box so think we pretty well covered in middle. Would rather buy a cb and striker before another cm

If anyone has any doubts as to what type of player Schweinsteiger is or how good he actually is, then go and do 2 hours research and look at his performances for Germany at all his last international competitions, world cups, euro, champs league, and against us every time he's played, the guy is an absolute beast and is exactly the type of player we've needed for years, a tough ball winning midfielder with skill and leadership, and can chip in with a couple of goals aswell, just watch his performance last year alone at the world cup final against Argentina. I would take him above Vidal any day, him Schneiderlin and Herrera would be some midfield, can't think of a better midfield 3 than that in world football at the moment.
