Maybe it.s Eric Dier of sporting that NEVS gone to check on. He.s got duel nationality with Portugal And England and he already knows Rooney. he has been the captain of every Sporting youth side and is only 16-17.

With all this talk about gaz nev going to lisbon a sure bet is inquiries about coentrao who is a perfect fit for united great feet and vision really impressed me at the WC. For midfield/ cm he could also fill in as anderson looks like he can hold, kagawa could also be a great addition for such a youngster he has already grasped when to go and when not to, so if your (wisely) reading my comment sir alex invest in these 2 bright prospects.

Maybe Gaz Nev is looking at Danny Carrico of Sp Lisbon. 22 year old CB just been made captain I think, heavily linked to Chelsea.
Also there is a young English born CB around 16/ 17 years old who is highly rated and I think he is at Sp Lisbon aswell. Someone else might know who Im talking about who has an anorak knowledge of youth football.

I know this was only a rumour put in the paper but it was quoted that tottenham were offered aguero and forlan for just 40million now real or not but that is a bargain.

starry

not getting at you starry so don't worry, but this is so unbelievable.

with the prices that were thrown around in the january transfer window, this surely can't be true. if andy carroll is worth 35 million for only half a prem league season, surely aguero is worth the 40 mil alone. if that's true then was forlan being thrown in for free? i highly doubt it

noley {Ed001's Note - I think the fact that Chelsea were offering 35m for Aguero alone proves that story is nonsense.}

Hi guys, my mate is danny simpson (newcastle) and he told me that welbeck has told him that he is staying at sunderland for another season loan and then the season after he will sign and henderson will join United. United are definately signing stekelenberg and young this summer and want modric as the marquee signing but won't go over £35million

wot dya reckon ed? any truth?

OOOOH AHHH CANTONA {Ed004's Note - I think Welbeck will stay at Man Utd next season and will be judged and given game time next season in Utd colours}

Dear mr moston red,
ngiak was quite certain there actually was a meeting at the end of december
and ngiak heard that we actually did go for a defensive mid (or at least another midfielder) for around 15 million

Gan knows alot about football, and has the inside track at United clearly.
We were going for Velouso. Gan looked all over the place for him in Lisbon, but nobody told him that he had moved to Genoa!. .Can't get the staff!

Right then down to business. I can't believe when the January transfer window opened there wasn't a mid season meeting called between Ferguson, the owners and advisors etc."""

thats all, no names of players
ngiak also assumed/ deduced that it was either defour or henderson
but both got injured at about the same period
IF, and that's a big if, sir alex was to be believed 2 weeks ago, when he said we did try for a player for about that value that "did not materialise"
so it all SEEMS to fit.
ngiak would like to know if anyone else can corraborate ngiak's findings/ deductions
gan

@ I was lead to believe it was Rodwell, but the other certainly do fit in with them both getting injured at around about the same time

Gan {Ed002's Note - The price for Carroll was not £35M but "in excess of £35M" - as such all this nonsense about Carroll plus £15M cannot be substantiated.}"""
dear mr ed
but the bottom line was still, newcastle got 35 million right? not more right?
and liverpool got 50 million right? no more. right?
its amazing that liverpool would agree to this.
whether these two are linked or not is not the point
the valuations were very odd. . especially when torres was supposed to be 70 million
thats what that did not fit
and worse if the rumour that liverpool wanted 15 million more than what newcastle wanted for carroll, was true?
amazing! on paper ngiak would have thought liverpool would ask for 30 to 40 million more than what newcastle asked for carroll!
gan {Ed001's Note - it is just a rumour Ngiak, there is honestly no truth in it whatsoever, it is complete nonsense.}

I don't understand why there is so much interest in Ashley Young.

But if United landed him for 10m or less, he could be a very good player.

I just hope a move a for him doesn't get in the way of bids for the likes of Modric and Sanchez.

I don't think that Gareth Bale is the answer either. At this moment in his career he is not the complete winger. He's only got one good foot, he can't beat a full-back without space to run at him (look what Rafael did to him on two occasions this season) and he doesn't have a lot of patience in his build-up play. Certainly not worth 45m.

"The transfer fee for Tevez was not £25M. The real fee was around £40m.

Show proof of that, he was offered to us at £25M"

I don't know about the original poster but Tevez was not offered to United at 25mil. United offered his agent 25mil, they declined and City made him a better offer with mega wages and huge agents' fee, which is a fact.

In reply to:

Here is something to think about from my insider at Carrington. Gary Neville has been sent to Lisbon for a couple of days working for the club. I know nothing more but I am sure some of you who know more about European football might have some idea as to what he is doing there or who he might be scouting. RAINFISHTROMBONE

@If he is scouting (which i doubt to be honest), being a defender himself i'd imagine he'd be scouting one. My guess would be Fabio Coentrao although there are both Benfica and Sporting in lisbon so if he is scouting (again i doubt it) he could be scouting any number of players.
