Find it odd that people are saying they wdnt want sneijder I know he wants huge wages but imagine how much better we would have looked this season with him playing of Rooney I think motivated at a new club he could be amazing he could change our team Kagawa looks a good prospect and as Dus gaitan but they are know we're near the class of sneijder if we cud get him it would be a great pick up and if u don't think so just look at the football and how our season has gone he might be 27 that's 10 years younger then scholes and look at the impact he made what could sneijder do?the wages are high they are high at least we would be watching world class players at the moment as fans we are being let down a bit watching some of the players in our team most our rovals and top clubs wdnt touch em. Might be level on points but we have had a pretty poor Seanson all round by our standards and its all rooted in not buying the better players anymore for whatever reason. I'm like everyone else on hear just praying for that miracle transfer we all hope and pray is round the corner because boy do we ever need some talent in that team. What sucks is that we can all see the problems and lack of really quality but don't understand y nothing is being done and clubs around us are catching up and overtaking.

Fingers crossed forever red

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Yes he may have looked awesome for 10 games and spent the rest of the season on the physios table....merely costing a s**tload

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to say I fully agree Sneijder is a world class player, and he is the type of player we need to put fear into the opposition.we just don't have that now.he can change a game in an instant.we need him.hes quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we would have won the league if we had bought him. Can't say he'd pick up the same injuries over here, its a different league. Creativity in the centre of the park is exactly what we've lacked this season. All our pace and creativity comes from the wings, which is why it was so shocking that SAF didn't play our best wingers against City.
You can look at the Everton game but, for me, playing two players who hadn't played in months in Park and Nani against City that was criminal.
Dingle.

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally agree, sneijder is just the type of player we need and the right caliber of player. We used to compete at the very top of the market, with barca and real madrid but now we compete with spurs and co. with the rise of man city we will go into decline if we refuse to move with the times

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't sign a LB, I'm certain. Sydney it is a bit bizarre, very unjustifiable signing another LB for many reasons. We will strengthen in MIDFIELD and maybe a left sided AT&T minded player but that will be it. No need for another LB plus it send the wrong messages.
PJ

Believable5 Unbelievable9

AT&T??? like the american company? could be a good sponsorship...

why would getting a LB send the wrong message? as long as we strengthen in other areas i have no problem with getting a LB to push for a place/replace Evra

Mr. GoodKat

Agree0 Disagree0

I think a young left back is a must with Fabio going on loan. Evra's on his last legs & needs a deputy like Willems. When Fabio comes back they can compete for Evra's place in the starting 11.

richie de laet and matty james both on their way to leicester city. Not sure on the fee. The clear out has started. Mort.

Delaet was offerd to norwich in January. The player doesn't expect to be at united next season. Leicester City are very intrested.

been away from posting for a while but was trying to find out something for well discussed LB situation. so what i managed to find by some chats from reserve staff and all that fabio is definatly going on loan to prove his physical abilities, SAF wants to see if he can stay fit for full season. if he fails its his last year.. (not liking this) but evra will continue to be our LB ( boooo) , and de laet will be his understudy.. i have mentioned it few times last year as well( a lot didnt agree with me,sp syd ), only reason he is not sold bcs SAF rates him high.and he is 23 now. so no LB purchase for us.. thats sure. RB is considered to provide rafael competition . ( he is under fire as well, due to fitness ans low physical ability) alzipuleeta(sorry for spell) and debuchi is being looked upon.

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Nonsense.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

What are your views on the matter apart from that Sydney?

Agree0 Disagree0

Why syd? Does it because someone may know a little more than you?
Everything you say is mere opinion anyway! There's never any facts!

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree with Sydney, most of that sounds like rubbish. We are currently looking for fullbacks (both sides i believe, but left is a priority) and de Laet is not highly rated by anyone except his mum

Jaxer

Agree0 Disagree0

De Laet is for sale for starters, that is why it's nonsense. Don't you think the manager would have used De Laet instead of Fryers last season when the manager was struggling to find a LB? Come on wise up lads. De Laet will not be a United player next season and we will be buying a LB.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sorry but agreeing with syd, this looks like it was written by a kid no offence.

Just thinking, will Park be sold this summer? I mean looking on the Official Man United website he's on the front in the new kit alongisde Evra, Rooney, Ferdinand and Welbeck!

He had an amazing pre season, don't know what's happened to him since though.. :S

Ozwald

Believable14 Unbelievable1

I pray to the lord almighty that this is the nearest he get to wearing the kit next season......

Agree0 Disagree0

That will be to sell as many new shirts in korea as possible before he leaves

1 more season for Park

Pardoe

Wat we need 2 do is sell some of the dross in the squad, berba park anderson rafael etc.and buy quality martinez llorente hazard lets get us back 2 where we belong.

Apparently the m'villa deal to arsenal has broke down because he had a better offer from an English club?

Would be a good signing if I was us, lets wait and see

Believable7 Unbelievable10

It would quite obviously be City, that's what they do.

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

I would imagine it would be City, with Nigel De Jong rumoured to be on his way out? Although it would make sense for us as we need a good DM & we have more financial power than Arsenal do

Agree0 Disagree0

Nope its viera who wants him at city and he is going to be de jongs replacement. m'vila has liked the idea as he knows that in mancini's defensive approch ( SAF himself appriciated that) he will definatly get more game time and importance.
rodio17

Agree0 Disagree0

Well sanshine if it is city we can all be happy that means we cn go for martinez or is he there main target n not m villa

dio

Agree0 Disagree0

We dnt need Mvilla blocking off Tunnicliffe in the first team, give him a good run of games this season for the first team and he will be a regular in 2014. Showed flashes of the potential he has in the reserves playoff final game and what a player he could be for us!

Stop waffling about these kids coming through we need players now not in two three years and who's to say In two or three years Tunnicliffe we have matured into a first team player. Anything could happen. On another note thank god Pogba looks like he's going, I'm sick of hearing people waffling sh&t about it.

If we are looking for a striker why don't wel ook at Oliver Giroud? I haven't seen his name pop up in the press at all surprisingly even though he has 24 goals in 36 games this year for Montpellier. He's really clinical, has a presence and is fairly mobile. Rooney, Welbeck, Hernandez and Giroud would be a set of good options. Add to that Kagawa/Sneijder etc and we have a lot of options.

RedDevil19 {Ed002's Note - It was expected that Giroud would stay within France with a move to PSG but performances this season have seen Lyon, Marseille, Valencia, Newcastle, Villarreal, Arsenal and particularly Malaga show an interest. At one point Nicollin discussed the interest in the player saying Newcastle were too minor a club and Arsenal would have to pay 50M euros, if not 60M euros for the player. The reality is that he will move for perhaps 20M euros or so in the summer as it will be tough for Montpellier to persuade him to stay. Interest at the moment is still being shown by Arsenal and probably Liverpool and Bayern Munich have made an approach to Montpellier. The player declared an interest in a move to Italy but much will depend on the price - I don't see Marseille being able to pay enough, nor perhaps Lyon. It is possible that Liverpool may become interested.}

Believable6 Unbelievable3

His name popped up the other day mate..

JK92

I heard he pretty much sees himself at Bayern, rotating with Gomez. Some quote along those lines.

anyone think we should go for david villa? i heard he may become available for 20m.

JK92

Believable17 Unbelievable14

£20m for a what 30 year old that's still recovering from a broken leg? Hmm sketchy

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think he will be the same player that he was before. Any player that breaks their leg never plays the same afterwards again. It's as though they're scared to try and win anything in case they injure themselves again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Alot of money for a 30+ year old with no sell on fee ,would rather go for a cavani hulk or the bilbao striker

Agree0 Disagree0

David villa would b a great signing if we cn get him for 10-15million.

Agree0 Disagree0

He'd help on and off the pitch, he's still got a few more seasons left in him.

JK92

Agree0 Disagree0

Utd wont buy him for anything hes is to old with no sell on.... so zero chance imo

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

He's definitely worth 10/15mill and lee bought vanistelrooy after he broke his leg and look how good he became for us.

SAF knows class is permanent, and Villa is still probably the best Spanish striker out there, even at 30!

Mabzinho

Agree0 Disagree0

Although i dont think we shud go as far as 20 mill i would say 12, valencia has come back from his leg break a much better player! also ben arfa

Agree0 Disagree0

For £15 million i would say yes, for £20 i would question it. The lower fee would give us a fantastic player, and even if he isn't as mobile, his finishing is still some of the best in the world for sure.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

Van nistelrooy didn't break his leg he done his knee ligements in

Agree0 Disagree0

Andy cole broke both legs and became a better player!! larsson also

Agree0 Disagree0

Well my bad he didn't, according to Teddy sheringhams latest comments about man utd, he said we went in for VanNistelrooy a yr later after he broke his leg!

LOL I'll try an inform Teddy about his mistake.

Mabzinho {Ed007's Note - Shows what Teddy knows then doesn't it. It even made mainstream news when he broke down in training.}

did anyone watch the south american champions league last night? Neymar impressed but also Henriquez of university chile impressed as well. Is he the one we've been linked with?

Believable18 Unbelievable3

If you're referring to Angelo Henriquez of Universidad de Chile, then he is the one. He has spoken of his desire to join Manchester United, and the club have told him to get more experience in order to make the move to Old Trafford.

Henriquez has already been to Manchester for training sessions, and the club have first option on a transfer valid until 2014.

James.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yh i've just read an interesting artcile about him saying how we have pulled off a major coup in getting first option on him.

Could someone (ed?) explain to me exactly how these 'first option' agreements work, only seen them on football manager.

Thanks

Gpot7 {Ed002's Note - Very simply, if a club has an option on the player, the club can exersize a right to match any bids made on the player when he is sold - but it remains the choice of the player whether he wants to move or not. There are some cases where clubs have also bought part ownership of players (such as Chelsea at Fluminense) which means that any sale would be more complex - but it remains the choice of teh player to move or not.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh right, yh i thought it was along those lines. Cheers mate.

Gpot7

Agree0 Disagree0

Every time Universidad de Chile plays, the commentators come up with that topic, they said we have some sort of agreement (not sure) and that I'll be worth 5m Euros, also worth to say that yesterday he got 2 goals and had plenty of mobility.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002 is the value/price ever pre-fixed into the agreement? i.e. we will pay you £4m at some point in the next 2 years if we decide we want the player (and the player agrees)

Cheers

Gav {Ed002's Note - Yes - this is similar how the deal with one of the Fluminense players works. In the case of the others Chelsea are part owners of the players.}

Agree0 Disagree0

11 May 2012 13:53:54
Whats everyones thoughts on Ajax's right back Van Der Wiel? Established decent right back and good going forward. Think hes out of contract in a years time. People quoting him going for as little as £4m... Van Der Wiel will probably move in the summer and his preference remains Spain - and something may yet be worked out with Valencia. Real Madrid have also shown an interest in the player. Chelsea may maintain an interest but they remain more interested in Azpilicueta. Roma is another option for VDW.}

Believable9 Unbelievable2

I havent seen too much of Van der Wiel but £4million for a 24 yr old ajax youth academy graduate doesnt sound to bad.

However Azpilicueta looks a real player, been very impressed with him everytime i've seen him play!

I think we should forget about Hazard he is not willing to join man utd there are many other good players out there such as Gaitan, Munian,Rodriguez, javi martinez, oscar de marcos and even lucas moura. These players can bring quality to the midfield.

The new jersey is endemic of the current plight of the club. Not only have average punters been priced out of tickets in an effort to attract more fiscally proficient supporters, now Nike have provided them with a multi-purpose garment on which they can feast upon sandwiches of prawn, decadence and contempt for the working man.

so city beat us again to a target has anyone else seen this article from todays paper {Ed002's Note - This story has been running all week.}

Believable1 Unbelievable17

And his agent denied he said it?

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

It seems this summer will be the same as last summer man utd preparing to bid for there targets only to loose out to s****y, it just shows they cant find there own targets. in my opinion this is now the last chance the glazers have to really show how much they support the club. can only see us signing 2 MAYBE 3 players in the summer so they need to make them BIG BIG SIGNINGS. the only reason i feel he is going to S****Y is money, but thats how it is nowadays. i know alot of you inc eds are fed up with the sneijder rumours but i personally would still love to see him in the red shirt along with m'villa & kagawa

UNITEDFORLIFE75

Agree0 Disagree0

M'vila and Kagawa would be great buys, but all WS would do is keep our medics busy. he's to old and has only had one good season, at club level since his Ajax days. Kagawa, M'Vila 25 million the pair, plus De Jong or Bas Dost for maybe 15 million and the lad from Crewe and Clyne 5 million the pair = 45 million of which 15 - 20 million would come from sales. I would love Lucas and Martinez too, but we just won't get more than 25 -30 million plus sales. Love to be wrong and get Lucas and Martinez too but they will cost 25 and 40 million each, which would mean the Glazers would need to cough up 90 -100 million, not very likely I'd say.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

I unsderstand you saying De Jong or Bas Dost, but sneijder is only 27 and what player doesn't have injuries, i just think that if we could bring him in am pretty sure our medical team and coaches would get him fit and perfect condition. another player couple of players i would take a gamble on are dembele and dempsey both have big epl experience

UNITEDFORLIFE75

Agree0 Disagree0

Something about this transfer 'saga' with Hazard feels similar to the Sanchez one last year which also happened at the start of the summer.....a young, exciting wide attacker, destined to be world class and we're supposedly 'in for him' but it turns out he choses another destination (or were we ever really in for him?)...when deep down I think the most of us always thought he would go elsewhere! We were just kidding ourselves. Hope my gut feeling is wrong this time though!

Lucas Moura, why waste time on Hazard and others, when this guy is sensational! Is avaiable for around 40-50 million, and would do a great job! We've missed such a deadly player on the field ever since CR7 left!

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a feeling we could have a slight tinker with the formation next season, 2 holding midfielders, 3 attacking midfielders and a lone striker. Thing is i reckon Lucas could go for just as much as Hazard. He's likely to go to Real Madrid, maybe not this year but next? Who knows..

Ozwald

Invisible Stuey

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope he'd be available for slightly less than £40-50m if we're going to be in with a shot!

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Must admit I had not seen him previously but that video was top quality.

Some of those defenders must feel like tw*ts haha.

I particularly liked his ability to take a knock mid run and keep going. If that is a normal trait of his and not just doctored for this video then IMO thats half the battle won in being able to adapt to the EPL.

"I couldn't care less as long as it's red. Every single time any club brings out any kit there is a 'backlash' from the fans. Some absolutely hate it, some love it. I really don't see why anyone get's so passionate about the issue.. if people don't like it then don't buy it...

That said I think it'll probably look quite nice.

APC"

___________________________________

I think it's fair for people to get upset about it. Opinions aside, fans want to buy the kit and wear it for the season. So if they really don't like it, they have a bit of a conundrum really because they either buy it, wear it and feel like an idiot. Or they don't buy it and don't have the kit..

I realise that it is impossible to cater to everybody's taste, but this kit is quite different - it's a bit of a step you know.

Anyway, I couldn't care less because I don't buy every kit - but my point is it's fair for people who do, to have their opinions and be passionate about it.

Joe

As long as its got the united badge on it i don't care and most of the hate is coming from rival fans it could be worse and have a city badge on it

I get what you mean Joe, I just think people go over the top. I mean, if people somply HAVE to buy one every year, they're hardly going to look/feel stupid in it... there will be plenty of other people around the world also wearing it... the point I was trying to make really was that it's all down to personal preference anyway, some there will always be some that like it and some that hate it, you can't please everyone.

Heard through a source Michael Owen will be leaving this summer probably along with Anderson (Spanish Interest) and Vidic sadly as Barca are in need of defensive reinforcements.

Also incomings are progressing well for Javi Martinez and return of Ryan Shawcross from Stoke !!

Believable5 Unbelievable29

It was believable until you mentioned Vidic but was then ruined.

Welsh Dragon

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoever is in charge of the design of United kits have no clue as to what fans want.
Out here in Cape Town we don our jerseys on game days and cram around our television sets to watch all the games, so you'll have the big 5 supported teams out here in SA (United, Liverpool, Chealsea, Arsenal and Spurs) all sitting around the same set watching the games. Absolutly hate it that Man U jerseys have to look substandard compared to the other teams, although this season i was proud our kit looked better than the Liverfools.

Agree0 Disagree0

Vidic is going nowhere

Agree0 Disagree0

Shawcross won't be coming back to Old Trafford. I don't know where you got the info from about Barca needing defensive reinforcements... isn't Mascherano a defensive reinforcement?
