Berbatov, Welbeck and Macheda are possible pawns in a Nasri deal.

Believable4 Unbelievable18

Too heavy a price to pay, nasri is a class act and I would love to see him at United but Berba would sell at the same price that a**eholes want for Nasri, and Welbeck/Macheda could prove to be invaluable next year with a few injuries. They wont complain if they get 10 first team games.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok let's look at this logically can you imagine the work to make this fit .....no chance

Ok, Sneijder is not coming to United. SAF said he has faith in the upcoming Pogba. Every1 is saying personal terms have agreed. Maybe that's true. What about official terms or financial terms? Nope.

Was in Red Cafe for dinner tonite (very nice too) and heard that we wont be signing anyone else - this is a fact,

Believable10 Unbelievable10

Were you told this by the barman or did SAF tell you?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger said no one was leaving Arsenal as well Do you believe him?

Sneijder deal still on. Wages have been agreed, this is not a stumbling block as papers are reporting. The hold up is the fee and this will be concluded before the transfer window closes. PATIENCE folks this will happen

Believable10 Unbelievable12

Why should we believe your guess over anyone else
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe wages are NOT the problem otherwise Man Utd wouldn't have pursued Sneijder for as long as they have. The transfer fee is the problem. Inter will be the biggest casualties when FFP kicks in next season, so they are trying to maximise earnings from any deal they are involved in right now. look at Eto'o, he's gone to Anzhi for 40m euros? I know he's a quality striker but that's a ridiculous amount for a 30yr old. Inter are trying to milk Man Utd for more money in the Sneijder deal but David Gill is way too smart. That's why Sir Alex has been saying 'no more transfers this window', he knows there's no market for Sneijder. Only Man Utd can realistically get him. Its just mind games to apply pressure on Inter because now, there's just over 2 weeks before the transfer window closes. Inter will blink or Sneijder stays but with Italian austerity measures hiking tax for high earners (above 150k euros) to 63% by 2013, it's in Sneijder's interest to move to England where tax is 50%.

Sneijder is being made a smoke screen for the transfer of joao moutinho. United have been on contact with Carlos Quieroz and he has tipped United off about potential availabiltly. We have a good crop of Portuguese players with Nani and Anderson and he would add to that. At 24 he is young and very talented. What do you guys think?

Believable5 Unbelievable12

He actually could be a name that SAF would get that nobody would expect in the papers. I like how he plays and fits in United. If any of it is true I hope he gets signed sooned.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thought anderson was brazillian? just made your post unbelievable, doh

Agree0 Disagree0

Since when has Anderson been Portugese? I think you will find he is in fact "BRAZILIAN"
ARB

Agree0 Disagree0

Anderson is Brazillian, Mouthinho's buy out is over £30m, no chance

=v1=

Agree0 Disagree0

I think anderson is brazilian, thats what i think

Agree0 Disagree0

I think andersons Brazilian, be a great signin

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you asking for opinions or are you making a confirmed statement? Btw Anderson is not Portuguese, he is Brazilian. Stop going around posting uncalled for rumors....

Thank you very much

Agree0 Disagree0

For starters Anderson is Brazilian and secondly the last big tip from Quieroz was Bebe so I doubt Ferguson will jumping at anyone he tips again so quick Fergie's been a great admirer of Sneijder for some years and without a doubt Utd a really interested

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont know much about him but more than you do about Anderson as hes Brazillian.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very good player that i feel is very underated

however i can't see him joining mancheser united any time soon.

can see him going to the spanish primera very soon though

Robbo

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Unless Ando has changed nationality from Brazilian i would say we have only one Portuguese player.

Tog the red

Agree0 Disagree0

Good player, both young and experienced.. Would be surprised if United showed interest though..

Agree0 Disagree0

Firstly Anderson is brazillian Secondly is this the same quiroz that said Bebe was the next Ronaldo That is all

Agree0 Disagree0

I think by Portuguese he might mean Portuguese speaking, in which all Brazilians are, so he at least SPEAKS Portuguese.

Barrymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

Carlos queiroz? i think after manucho and bebe saf wont be gettin ny tips off him nymore

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps the poster refers to the fact Anderson, Nani and potentially Moutinho speak the same language, i.e. Portuguese?

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

I haven't seen as many pedants since the 1056 others on the fiver, does it take 6 or 7 to say the same thing? honestly i got it the first time

Agree0 Disagree0

Think he suggested anderson as he played in the portugese league for porto also

TRUMORS

Agree0 Disagree0

I think people get the jist that Anderson is Brazilian Anymore people want to tell him?
Great player but i still think i would rather have Nasri or WS. Just wish something would happen because im sick of getting excited and then nothing

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we did young, hungry players who have reputations to make.

SAF normally does well with them, very well.
Not a Veron

Agree0 Disagree0

If SAF ws such a big "admirer" of w.s for number of years, den why did he not sign him when he ws available frm madrid at only 15million, half of whatt we gotta payyy now for him.

Wait guys, I'm confused, where is Anderson from again?

As i said guys earlier on,fergie has joined the race to sign samir nasri by preparing a 25m bid for the player,just sit and watch what will happen in the transfer market for nasri,while sneijder will definately join on the 31st .Ed is your team close to snapping modric? {Ed001's Note - nope, my team has no interest in Modric....}

Believable7 Unbelievable11

Nasri deal with City is supposedly done so I highly doubt we are bidding for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Modric,Nasri or Sneijder will not be coming to OT. It's looking more and more likely we will not be buying anyone else. Which is tantamount to saying "to be EPL champions is enough, but let Barcelona keep the champions league. We just don't just the resources and /or the will to overhaul them"
We need an attacking midfielder like hamsik,Goetze or Ganso and a ball winning midfielder like M'vila or De Rossi. We could have done without Young and tried to get any of 2from above. I just hope that SAF has an ace up his sleeve.

Igossip.it is reporting ws has been offered the same or very similar contract from utd that he is on at inter and he has turned it down.
Doesn't really make any sense as earlier in the week he said he would like to join utd so you would think he would jump at that offer.

Believable2 Unbelievable10

How did you even decipher the article, google translate didn't help at all.

Read it off a differnt website lol, I struggle with English let alone havin a crack at Italian , jus thought I'd put the source web site up so people no I'm not tellin porkies and I'm deffinatley not goin down the ''my source says" lol

A perfect example of how you should ignore what the press have to say and in your case Sydney SSN.

This morning Talksport have been playing an interview with Wenger where he says Nasri & Fabregas are not leaving the club.

SSN at lunchtime tell their viewers Fabregas is in the air as they broadcast on his way to Barca.

Barca give press conference saying hope to sign Fabregas in the next few hours.

SSN now - Fabregas is actually at home. Been told not to fly out til Sunday.

According to SSN he was in the air..

I rest my case.

So please dont quote what SSN etc say about the Sneijder deal to say its CARP is putting it mildly. Just wait and see the official stuff from Utd not he said she said, top guy at OT etc. Just wait.

Deal done.

Believable12 Unbelievable4

Deal done?? I very much doubt any deal has been done. To be honest I like many fans are sick of this ongoing saga. One minute it is a sure thing, the next Sneijder's wage demands are a stumbling block and lastly the fee has yet to be agreed At the end of the day if Sneijder wants to come and we want him then surely it would have happened by now. Sad part of football is that it's all money and I am of the opinion that he wants too much money per week.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just because there was confusion over Fabregas doesnt mean its the same over all transfers. If one club says one thing and the other club says another things are bound to be confusing. And besides I really do not think Sneijder will be at United this season

Agree0 Disagree0

The thing that is annoying me is people GUESSING he wants too much money, how do we know a wage offer has been put to him, how do we know that fergie didn't say you can play for us buy your getting 50quid a week and you will like it No one knows I agree with the first post, WAIT AND SEE

United to sign wesley sneijder by the end of next week if not sooner

Believable11 Unbelievable18

12 Aug 2011 10:41:59
The Sneijder deal is still on. Ignore the press. I wish I could tell you guys more but I cant. Just be patient and please ignore people telling you this guy is holding out for more money. Its total rubbish. He agreed personal terms with us 3 weeks ago now.
The press are just assuming coz of lack of movement and as per usual just want to upset the club and fans as we embark on our 20th title.

Just be patient and you will see.

This guy has snubbed City for us. Its done just ignore the negative press and I'm surprised at posters falling for the usual re-gergatated stories in the rags on here. This guy is ours just wait.

And regards Nasri, he was our back-up Sydney. We never bid for him as has been suggested we showed a declared interest early doors but didn't bid. Again a fabrication in the press to make it look like we have lost out to City and we haven't and never will. We are not bidding on Nasri as we have our man.

Please just be patient and you will see and dont imagine the guy is the greedy so and so portrayed in the press because he isn't.

Believable13 Unbelievable11

I was so surprised when it sounded as if he was asking for more and more money because in all interviews he seems so nice and humble, similar attitude to chicharito really hope we get him for so many reasons i can't even be bothered to list 'em

Agree0 Disagree0

What a load of tosh. Why should anyone believe you anymore than anyone else?
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

If the deal is still on what is the delay? Don't we have to announce a squad of 25 for the forthcoming season very soon? I know these things can be difficult and protracted but this "Deal" takes the biscuit.

Tog the red.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look this guy is one of the most humble footballlers in interviews ive ever seen. he is a great player and what we need him and clever in centre mid would be a great midfield. he wants to go to man utd he thinks were a great club which we allways have been and always will be and city are never going to take our crown. sneijder knows that, he will be a manchester united player this season although i think it could be later in the window than the rumour poster says.

Aaronaldo7

Agree0 Disagree0

Just a memory
remember the scholes like pass that wesley sneijder played for eto'o against chelsea in the champions league.
if you dont search wesley sneijder vs paul scholes killer passes and sublime goals.

Aaronaldo7

Agree0 Disagree0

I also think that Sneijder is not being greedy. But instead SAF is playing mind games with Inter so that he pays lesser transfer fees. I think the lesser transfer fees for Inter would mean bigger signing on fees for Sneijder, not bigger wages. That's why the waiting game.

Agree0 Disagree0

I do hope WS joins Man Utd he will be a great fit and good for the Premiership, not sure why we have all these silly games on transfers with the press just making it up always same 5 or 6 players, please get a bit more creative. Is Fabregas going of course he is but Mr Wenger is still in denial that cant help the press.

Agree0 Disagree0

I have heard off a journalist with good ears in italy that sniejder deal possibly to be announced monday

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he will sign, why wouldnt he? all Utd till I die pony aside. Manchester united is a very good club, great history and very bright future.

Forget WS, it wont happen I would still like to see Kaka signed as really think he would be awsome under SAF who would sort him out and get him free from injury and firing as before

any thoughts

Believable11 Unbelievable13

Too old, legs have gone & fee/wages would be horrendous. Bad idea

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Kaka is finished He has a CHRONIC knee injury that will never fully heal. No one not even Alex Ferguson can fix that.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mad idea Kaka would fail horribly in the EPL. Seems like it's Wes or nothing.

MDJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Kaka hasn't been the great player he once was, for 3 seasons now.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

If Fergie could "sort out" Kaka then I'd be super impressed.
It would mean that he would have god-like powers which can skew reality and nature.

Kaka is finished as a top player. He'd do well to get a deal with West Ham, and they love signing old injured has-beens.

Sneijder deal is off and i'm not just taking this from the daily mail.

A close friend of my family is a scout for Utd in Ireland. He says the word around OT is that there is no deal for sneijder and there is not going to be.

Fergie is going to go with the squad he has. Which in my opinion is good enough for a 20th title but not good enough to win champions league

Melbourne

Believable10 Unbelievable13

Your mate must be up to his eyes - he hasnt found anyone since John O'Shea

Agree0 Disagree0

I must say being from Ireland it gets very annoying when people from here say they know this and that, and the Irish press says this. Nobody here knows anything of what will happen. The days of Irish people knowing are gone since Magnier and McManus sold up. Also, an (amateur) scout working in Ireland for any club hasn't a clue what is happening in the club unless he has spotted someone. So please stop talking crap.

Agree0 Disagree0

Our squad is good, except in central midfield. Our central midfield is weaker than any of the other top 3 or 4 clubs in the EPL. As for Europe our central midfield isn't in the top dozen. We could do with an attacking midfielder and a ball-winning midfielder. We would then have a squad to equal anyone's then.

Sneijder off as fergie line up gotze, nasri, parker and erriksen as replacements.ws is instisting to be paid his 200k wages which man u certainly want to avoid..now watch add Ed if ws doesnt lower his demands he will see in disappointment nasri and gotze joining.

Believable3 Unbelievable12

Nasri is of to Sh--y and Goetze won't be leaving Germany. we'll have to choose Hamsik or Ganso or a lesser light like McCarthy or Martin and in the longer term they may just be a better all round real than so called "marquee" players.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love to see united sign Gotze, but it looks as though the whole of Germany wants to keep hold of him

12 Aug 2011 07:38:14
i really cannot see this transfer being over he is a great player and SAF knows he is, we have been chasing him for some time now and i have never seen us give up on signing a player, they will agree a fee and the player will agree terms it will just take some time, the papers are always making up stories just to get there sales up.

Ignore the gutter press reporting we have pulled out of Sneijder deal- it is done, Just be patient and I will tell you that Nasri was our plan B and we have now pulled interest in him and his deal to City will go ahead. Also ask yourself this , Why is our squad pic not done as yet and booked in for Monday 23rd Aug when usually done by now. Answer , to include our new CM, WS. Also I dont think Inter usually give their players a few days off to have a break with their wife before the season starts do they. His wife is jetting back to America and hes been given a few days off with her before he flies over here. Keep the faith, and Come on 20. The squad that we have plus a world class CM, bring on Barca thats what I say, Now we are ready for you.

Believable14 Unbelievable5

You are wrong, we bid £20m for Nasri weeks ago. Sneijder would have been our first target for the past 12 months, but Nasri would have been a better buy hence the reason we bid for him. The Sneijder deal is not a done deal, it's far from it. We may go back in for him towards the end of the window, but for now the deal is off.

GREED

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not wrong Sydney- you are totally wrong with this one I'm afraid. Its not greed you are being sucked in by what the press are assuming the hold up is. You are way off mark this time I'm afraid Syd. Just watch.

Agree0 Disagree0

We never made an official Bid for Nasri- you are wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

I never said we made an official bid for Nasri, but we did make a verbal bid to Arsenal. And if it isn't greed that is the hold up then please enlighten us all? He wants to move, United want to buy and Inter want to sell, so please enlighten us on what the hold up is?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

£250.000 per week isn't greed? If he had any genuine desire to play for us, I'm sure he could get by on £160,000 plus a % of image rights and his advertising interests. A well known player like Sneijder, earns far more off the pitch, then on it.If he came to United he would add at least £5m-£8m to his annual income just through added endorsements and image rights. So if he took £160,000 per week (£8m per year), his yearly income would increase, 50% tax rate and all.I would love Goetze to come, but I just can't see him leaving Germany for a few seasons. Ganso would likewise be a better team investment the WS, but that would be in January as he wants to play in the World club cup or something with a similar name. We would also have to get him to forget all about AC Milan. Hamsik would be a great buy. I think Sneijder won't be coming to united, he is just to expensive for his age and injury susceptibility.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

I have enlightened you Sydney, the hold up is Inter . They want as much money as possible coz they cant afford Tevez without it. Also they agreed things with Uts weeks ago but asked Utd to keep it stum as they didn't want to announce to their fans a departing star without naming the replacement. We have been doing what Inter asked not the player. The player wants Utd and will take apy cut to pull it off. And WE NEVER BID FOR NASRI, either verbally or otherwise. It simply didn't happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

12 Aug 2011 07:20:36
Now that it seems the Sneijder deal is unattainable and Nasri is practically off to City, who are we most likely to get Ed? Sydney? {Ed002's Note - I refer to earlier answers.}

Believable1 Unbelievable7

12 Aug 2011 06:54:49
I make no claim to inside knowledge on the Sneijder situation but I do hope tha we do not sign him. He would come with a massive ego wic would likely as not disrupt the equilibrium of the squad.
Imo we should be trying very hard to buy Goetze from Dortmund. He seems to have all the atributes at avery young age.

Pip

12 Aug 2011 03:46:51
Apparently we have "pulled the plug" on the deal to sign Wesley Sneijder, or so the Daily Mail is suggesting. Personally, I wouldn't rule anything out because this whole Sneijder saga is just so unpredictable. One day he's signing before the end of the week, the next he's a mercenary demanding an extravagent salary. If SAF has ended his pursuit of WS, I would doubt he didn't have something up his sleeve for me I hope its a move a certain little German, goes by the name Mario Gotze Wouldn't complain if it was his Japenese teammate Shinji Kagawa either in all honesty.

Question for Ed & Sydney; If we have actually called of a move for Sneijder who, if anybody, do you think we will switch our attentions to? {Ed002's Note - As a Chelsea fan, hopefully Modric. But as I have said before, I expect we will hear the name Douglas Costa being mentioned before the end of the transfer window - perhaps not by Manchester United, but by one of the parties.}

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Morning Ed002, do you still believe Kagawa will remain at Dortmund for next season? Have you heard any new news regarding him? Seems strange that he postponed his contract talks that's all. And he seems to be making it known that he would love to join United.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I expect Kagawa to stay at Dortmund. I don't think he would be interested in a move to Chelsea or Arsenal at this time.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I am sure Chelsea & Arsenal are interested in him as well as United. He is a very good player.

Ed and Sydney can you please give a clear picture of this?
Red Devil {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of anything firm and reading it on several websites doesn't help figure out if it is true or not - it may come from on fan's blog. It'll continue to flip-flop for a while I suspect.}
