this isnt a rumour or anything but i do wonder why on the manchester united gossip section on the clubs official website it says:
"Any other interested parties will have to move extremely quickly for Jack Rodwell as Manchester City have agreed a £15million fee with Everton and the England international is set to undergo a medical before completing the move."
Surley this isnt a rumour why they sayin it any ideas?

I reckon City have gone for Rodwell and Sinclair just to tick boxes on paperwork i.e. to fulfil the homegrown player rule.
These poor lads have been duped!

Homegrown doesn't state you have to have a certain number of homegrown players, it says you can't register more then 18 non-homegrown players.
But it's up to you to name homegrown players or not on top of that.
I'm sure they plan to use them, or they could have just left those spot unused and play, or not play, youngsters instead.

I think it was about silencing Mancini with his unbelievable taste for new signings. Seems addicted like Harry Redknapp

Guys .. Just heard that it is very unlikely we will get RVP.. Arsenal holding out for £25 mill, and fergie only willing to go to £18 million.. Likely RVP to stay ... We are apparently reviving the deal for lewandowski.

My source has confirmed that SAF is going to make a further bid for Luka Modric and the belief is that he will sign. RVP will not be joining. SAF has been told by Arsenal that they would rather let him run his contract down than sell to us. INTHEKNOWATOT

I was thinking this myself. There have been several transfer rumours about players based in Germany - Lewandowski being just one of them. I was also thinking that maybe a long shot could be Huntelaar at Schalke. Fergie has always been a long term admirer of Huntelaar and he WAS top scorer in the Bundesliga last season.

If Fergie's absence last night was to sort out the RVP deal, then great. But I'llbe equally as pleased if its for Lewandowski or Huntelaar.

Until there is an official announcement everything is just speculation. These big transfers are a huge game so can't trust anything but find it hard to believe that Van Persie would have taken the armband if a deal was already in place for him to leave. I suspect he may stay put now.

Yeah van Persie came on for the last twenty mins but hardly touched ball and looked like was doin his best not to get caught or injured and mess his move up and that arsenal were trying to get their team used to life without him just how it looked to me wot do you guys think. Mattyboi.

15 million seems like crazy money to me.

It is all still very much unfulfilled potential. If anything , the lad has only shown that it will contimnue to be exactly that and with the limited playing time avaialable at city, he can look forward to a few seasons being loaned out here, there and everywhere.

Can someone please comment why we are not looking at Muniain. I know everyone was very excited about the Moura news but personally I was very happy it did not go through. I would rather pay 25 Mill Euros Muniain.

In my humble opinion he is the next 50/60 Mill Euro guy in a few years. Is it that we are not interested or that he is not for sale? {Ed004's Note - He is for sale. Bilbao have touted him around Europe. In an ideal world I would sell Young and buy Muniain with the funds raised}

Strong rumours going round that rvp is pretty much done. We have agreed 25mil deal with arsenal and terms have been agreed with rvp, just his medical to be done.

I do not believe any of these rumours that we have agreed a £22m deal, £23m deal or £25m deal as we are not going to pay that sort of cash for him. We certainly wouldn't offer that much this early.

It seems the club have RVP onside and with him refusing to go to any other club bar United, Arsenal have two options. They can sell him to us at a lower fee than they want or they can keep him for one more year and lose him on a free. This also carries a risk of it damaging team morale and would they get the best out of an unhappy player? If RVP is on board and is fully committed to just joining United then my bet is this will drag on a little longer with United playing hardball over the price. I think we will end up paying between £15m-£20m for him, I have been saying this since January.

That amount is nothing to be sniffed at as it covers Kroenke and the shareholders dividends, so even if AW doesn't like it, the board will likely accept it in the end. Personally I think £15m-£18m is a fair price giving the circumstances. Lets wait and see lads. Obviously a lot depends on whether he is on board with United, by Mancini's comments and Juventus' it seems we are fully in the driving seat. PSG have filled their quota so no room at the inn there. If he is fully committed to United then he will highly likely be a United player by September.

From what I understand do not be surprised to see the price reach in the excess of £20 million. I think the Lucas deal hit home hard and I believe Fergie sees 'winning' this transfer battle as not just a great signing but also a statement.
This is not an unusual transfer in terms of its situation either. Reminds me alot of the Sheringham deal.
I believe the deal is done, I read a post the other day that I though seemed most likely, however I believe wages will not reach £220k, more likely to be £180-190j a week.
Kagawa was my signing wish for this summer back in March and he is going to set the league alight, I think RVP will be a great signing I just hope it doesn't signal the end of our interest in a CM as I believe the fee for RVP will go to £20 million.

No way we will go over £20m. Either Arsenal will lower their valuation or lose him for nothing next year. The only place where £20m plus offers are being touted seems to be twitter, you'd think people would have more sense.

£15m max,anymore and Fergies lost his marbles.Dont get me wrong,good player but with injuries,one great season,ridiculous wages,age etc a higher fee is too big of a gamble with money it seems Utd dont have.Plus we dont need a striker,in any half difficult game Sir Alex likes to play one striker and a defensive midfield five and if Rooney gets injured although not ideal there is enough cover to make do.Other areas need money spent on before a striker but the manager does seem to have a bit of a striker fetish.Ideally striker,midfielder,winger and left back but cant see that happening {Ed004's Note - We struggle when we don't have Rooney in the team. If we can agree a deal for RVP I imagine he will have a similar contract to that of Berbatov. Perhaps a 3/4 year deal with option for 4/5. It's quite a clever contract really and one that Berbatov and his agent didn't expect to be triggered.

I believed he would end up at City, but I maintained we would be interested if he became available and that we would try to sign him, you among others suggested we couldn't compete with other clubs and disagreed with me. (no surprise there) I said he wouldn't sign a new Arsenal deal, he hasn't as yet. When most said he would stay at Arsenal and all he was doing is haggling for a new deal. I said it will be down to his personal preference and he could choose United, but IMO thought he would end up at City. When plums were saying he would go for £35m+, I said he would go for between £15m-£20m. Got slated for that too. I am not saying I have got everything correct with RVP, but I have been pretty close.

this is no speculation ,but after watching g. dos santos at the olympics how do most of you fans rate him.i for one think he has improved.i admire his talent and can anyone inform me if he has moved on from tottenham. if not then it will be joy to see him at ot with his national team mate hernandez

Yep, still at Spurs. I seem to remember him doing this on a regular basis. Seems to impress, but just never cut it in the EPL. Perhaps AVB will give him the chance Harry never did.

I rate him aswell, whenever i see him he seems quality.. The fact he never played for spurs is irrelevant.. Arry never gave a lot of youngsters a go, k-p boateng, taarabt, g dos santos, he was going to loan out bale until he was forced to play him cos of injury..

He just doesn't suit the english game and he is nowhere nar United standard. Its just harry, every spurs manager since they bought him hasn't seemed to rate him or play him so surely that says something?
