United have been in contact with Sneijders agent over a possible loan move and a permanat signing in the summer. They have also made talks with Chellini the Juventus defender who is unhappy with the ambitions at Juventus.

The Sneijder rumours starting early then.

Too old & too injury prone. Not to mention we are out of the Champs Lge and Inter aren't which wouldn't be great for his image rights.

Agree0 Disagree0

Chellini wud be a great addition but really doubtful. Juve wont let go one of their most prized assets. Sneijder wud be good for 15m or max 18m not more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks but Sneijder already missed the bus

Agree0 Disagree0

Sneijder defo not joing man utd this transfer window, maybe in the summer, as he's a massive Eastenders fan (thurs nights!) geordiepaul :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha a Geordie taking the pee about Europe league, your mob would kill to be in the europa league. :-)

Chiellini isn't good enough and Sneijder had his chance.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would love snejider to come in Jan but highly unlikely would b perfect for cleverly and show the younger players how to control midfield and how to pick a pass should have happened in the summer anyway.. Would like to see us bid for shawcross at stoke proven premiership quality and knows our club would add a bit of steel to the back four also

Why do people keep wanting WS, what has he done this season? We want someone younger and less injury prone. He's great for Holland, but not all that at club level. He was good at Ajax, but since leaving has had one good season , the year before last when inter done the treble. Still he's keep out physios busy, Forget him and lets start looking at ganso and Eriksson.

Mik, you should not be questioning wesley sneijders talent. SAF did try to sign him but couldn't and like he said earlier this season "there aren't many that can improve us, none that are available". Half you lot just get carried away in a little world where you think any young promising footballer can just walk into a new clubs starting XI, playing too much fifa or something? Need to be more realistic, experience as well as talent is what we should be looking at, since scholes left no one in the middle of the field has looked so calm and in control and thats vital for a big club to have. Someone who can control the tempo and rythm of our attack and just generally keeping possession. This is why for me, i don't think SAF will sign anyone now that we missed out on Sneijder. Tom cleverly has proven his worth and we just have to wait for him. You really have to take so many things into consideration when signing a player like their attitude, work ethic, how good their communication would be, leagues they've played in and whom they've played under etc.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Ozwald's point that we need experience if we are going to improve our CM. In the last year we've lost the experience of VDS, Neville, Hargreaves, Scholes, O'shea & Brown. Massive! We're likely to lose even more in the next 2 years too - Giggs, Evra, Rio, Park, Carrick, Berba and so on...

I honestly think that this must be in SAF's thinking to a point, and that may be the reason we wont see him running out to buy a Ganso, Gotze or Eriksen.

Lets be honest, if theres one thing we've got it's talented youth. What we may need is experienced quality players to help mould and progress these youngsters?

Especially now with Fletcher & Vidic looking like they may be out for long periods :(

Anyway Schweinsteiger, Sneijder or Modric would fit the bill IMO. Or even cheekily ask Barca to let Xavi go in the summer (I'd take him for 2 years) to make space in their team for Thiago!

Everyone saying we need someone "younger" NO WE DON'T!! age and experience is exactly what we need, our midfield isn't good enough to blood a young player, do you all want us top turn into arsenal, because this is how they all sounded 3 years ago.

According to someone who claims to be ITK (apparently has connections with a football agent) United have already agreed terms with Lille and with the player himeself for Eden Hazard to join us in the January window. He reckons it's £20 million down payment with £10 million 'extras' plus Macheda going in the other direction making a total of £34.5 million. I think this is in sterling not Euros but I'm not sure.

I'm not claiming any inside info myself, merely passing on what i've heard, so please don't shoot the messenger!

Hope its true

Agree0 Disagree0

He's a great player but where will we play him? Already have wingers so he can be played as striker where I'm sure he'll perform very well with his dribbling and finishing skills. Although its highly unlikely that we get him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wish it was true, but can´t see it happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's great news if it's true. Hazard has got all to be the next Ronaldo.

Agree0 Disagree0

And, where would he fit in our team exactly? Nani and Young are both great wingers. I wouldn't take either of them out of our team to make room for Hazard. {Ed007's Note - Young is far from a great winger. Wasn't impressed with signing him and not changed my mind so far, a very poor/bad buy IMO}

Agree0 Disagree0

We have wingers but he is better than young.....

front 3 of

Nani - Rooney - Hazard

Would be good to see

Agree0 Disagree0

Bang, bang. i shot the messenger, but i did not shoot the deputy...

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope this is true! Cant see the other major teams in europe letting united gettin him on the 'cheap' i know its 35mil but put in perspective with recent signings (the greasy, lanky pirate that is andy carroll etc.)

Agree0 Disagree0

He would play in the free role behind a front three and supported by Cleverley and someone else. he can be our Silva and he is clearly better than Young on the wings

Agree0 Disagree0

Young hasnt performed since we got hammered by City - for someone the media touted as the best crosser of the ball in English football he has fallen well short at United and Fergie was right to drop him for the Wolves game. Hazard would be a good addition but still doesnt address the midfiled issue which should take priority over all other signings

Agree0 Disagree0

Young started SO well this season linking up with Rooney, dangerous crossing, beating people for fun and scoring goals. What happened!? Is he just too easy to read cos he cuts in on his right every time?

Anyway, Hazard is clearly better and far more promising - I'd love to see him and Nani either side of Rooney

Very much doubt this is true though, unfortunately. Sounds way too easy
