Press reporting city is making a bid on ISCO. 16.9 release clause and malaga have come out and said they would sell if the release clause is met. Thoughts anyone if he is worth the money and what is the likely hood that we step in. I am sure he would choose us over city. Shahram

I would hope that we'd make an effort to sign him. However why would he come over to here rather than City? I am sure that Mancini would make sure David Silva has a quiet word in the ear of Isco.

I am sure Fergie could do the same with De Gea if needed and considering both played for spain u21's more change for De Gea to talk to him than Silva...

This is Manchester United we are talking are talking about and besides we have De Gea who is his international team mate.

Agree1 Disagree0

Explain why he would choose united over city. because i dont get it

Y.n.w.a,

Because no matter how much you might win with Sheiky, you will never be as big a club as united. Besides, FFP isn't looking good for you lot is it .

As i thought no answer to a simple question

He is a spanish player whos dream is probably to play at barca or real. Taking that into account im pretty sure he doesnt give a lame Cr@p which team he plays for in england if this team provides him champions league footy and sh** loads of money until he's good enough to move to the big spanish 2 .

We would do what Mike Phelan does...sit back and watch it happen !!

Agree0 Disagree0

YNWA the reason he would choose united should be obvious, club with pedigree and has been at the top of club football for 25 years, city a club who spent 500 million to win one PL title and getting their a...s kicked again in CL.

With all of the above your manager still complain when he does not get 100 million to spend and really is overrated and has a team full of egos and mercenaries. The Tevez and ongoing Balotelli saga speaks volumes for the lack of standard or code of conduct at City.

Y.n.w.a,

OK then. Because at united we are a big club guaranteed to be at the top because we make our own money and wont be harmed by FFP.
Also, because foreign players consider it an honour to play for united in front of 76,000 people and in the same shirt that Scholes, Giggs, Beckham, Rooney, Ronaldo, Beckham, Best, Robson have played.
And one of the biggest + of all, to play under Sir Alex Ferguson, one of the greatest managers of all time.

YNWA,

Why dont you ask RVP. He refused every other club to play at united.

Agree0 Disagree0

YNWA has a point why would he choose us big money talks no matter how we like it

To be fair though if he chose city he will be guaranteed higher wages than anyone excluding chavski but don't think they are interested but also if he chose city he will pocket about 4-5 more premier league titles plus probably a couple of champions leagues aswel, don't make out man utd never spent money winning the premier league, simple fact is if u don't spend money unfortunately u win sod all

Agree0 Disagree1

Didnt utd spend millions chasing the title with record transfer fees paid out for players roy keane, andy cole, dwight yorke, veron, fer dinand in pursuit of the leaugue this was when there wasnt as much money as there is now floating about and sponsorship was not as big as it is now. united have been the top team for 20 years but the last 5 theyve been on the decline and they cannot attract the players they did 6-7 years ago lets be realistic thats why the top players will choose city/chelsea money grabbers or not

Agree0 Disagree0

The money utd spent was our money tho not some tycoon with loads on money just pumping money in. our club is run proberly city and chelsea have no turnover of profit were by utds just keep improving thiers every year once the debt is cleared we will be laughing. RedTheRed

You will probably find the glazers are (rich tycoons) as you put it but the dont want to put large sums into the club.does any one no how much the glazers have put in to how much theyve took out eds, syd can you shed any light it would be interesting to know and what your time scale on paying of the debt cant see it happening in the next ten years

At the end if the day success is success, and Liverpool fans have had Feck all for years, Hence they come on here and look silly.

Our best players came from the academy. Beckham, Giggs, Scholes and the Nevilles. They were not brought.

I don't know why but i have a feeling Hummels will end up at Barcelona in the summer transfer window. Barca hardly spend any money this past transfer window and should be flushed with cash and with Pujol pretty much at the end of his career it would be ideal fit for them and him and can't see him choosing us over Barca. I hope we have other options if we don't get him.

Subotic is also a great CB, less aggressive than Hummels though and like Rio he does possess a lot of skill on the ball and reading the game from the back. Not sure if that's what we need though. All i know is i'm really really excited to see the partnership of Jones + Smalling flourish because they are both very young and already show top class ability. Just needa stay injury free.

P.s - It's my Birthday today :) Woop Woop and Rooney is wearing the Captains armband for England, good news.

Ed002; I noticed on the banter pages you posted the following; 'Manchester United did not make an offer to Lille for Hazard.'.

Would you be able to share with us who we did make offers for but didn't buy?

Thanks,

rpc {Ed002's Note - Moura and Witsel are the two that come to mind.}

Believable4 Unbelievable1

There seems to a long standing myth that United were on the verge of signing Hazard before naughty Chelsea stepped in. But SAF has clearly stated that we enquired and his valuation was miles above what we were willing to pay. No bid, no agreement, just a player we wanted but not at the price demanded, simple as.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes another great player we don't think is worth the money.Truth is it is not we don't think they are worth it we just simply can't/won't pay it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well according to Sydney (if you believe him), apparently we agreed personal terms and even showed Hazard around OT.

melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

Hazard gone now and to be fair im glad we didnt get either witsel or moura overrated to the hilt

Agree0 Disagree0

It´s a well known fact that we agreed a fee for him. The big problem was the agent and how much money he wanted. I think he wanted 6m-8m and even City wasn´t ready to pay that much.

The only reason Chelsea got him was money. Simple. {Ed002's Note -Manchester United never made an offer to Lille for Hazard.}
