Apparently nuri sahin has said that his preferred option in terms of a transfer is a move to arsenal

Believable21 Unbelievable4

Hardly surprising when you consider Liverpool, Fenebahce, Galatasaray & Spurs are the others interested in him.

Sydney!

Agree4 Disagree0

His preferred destination is england and he wants CL football.

so really there is only one team who are going to win this race at the minute.

i can not understand why we are not interested unless fergie has a dm/cm already agreed to come in.....

Oxred

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no interest from Man Utd with the deal proposed. They wanted a possible transfer but Madrid were only interested in a loan deal.

Hi guys, sorry to go on about the two names Rvp and lewandowski, but seeing various things that RVP has agreed personal terms with us, and just waiting for arsenal to agree to a fee, plus we have lodge a 23.6 mil bid for Lewandowski..... Could edd or sydney comment about any concrete info on this?

Cheers Dsetred

Just a question i've been pondering for a while, even if we were to have a bid accepted for RVP would he even pass a medical with his injury proneness?

Believable18 Unbelievable10

That did cross my mind but if Rodwell can pass a medical ten I'm sure RVP would.

Dan

Agree3 Disagree0

I don't think that would be an issue. He played in every game last season. I'd be surprised if he even gets a medical to be honest.

MattL

Agree0 Disagree1

Saha did as did hargreaves so yeah i would of thought so

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes he would, A medical is just to check if he is in good health at the current point in time. If Hargreaves can pass one so can RVP.

Agree1 Disagree0

Ridiculous question, of course, unless there was something seriously wrong with him when he went for the medical

Agree1 Disagree0

Ruut Van Nistlerooy was the same and he joined and was prolific until his 'falling out' with SAF

Been reading on the other teams pages that Arsenal have given up on Sahin as they expect Liverpool to get him. Sounds like a great time to sneak in and steal him from under their noses I know we have shown interest eds any chance of this happening.

Thanks,

Darren-Bermuda {Ed007's Note - No Darren, Utd have no interest in him.}

Believable2 Unbelievable12

Sahin wants UCL football and Arsenal are due for talks with him at the end of the week. Liverpool have an interest, but he wants the Arsenal move.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sir alex waiting for darren fletcher to be fit.
ferdcoast

Agree0 Disagree1

Syd, surely if the rumours about Lewandowski are true then Sahin would be a good fit to play with both him and Kagawa from past experience together. Can't claim to know much about him just putting the puzzle together and the pieces seem to fit seeing as he would take time to gel with the likes of Clevs, Nani, Valencia, and Rooney so familiarity could play a part in the deal. But Ed says we have no interest which is a shame. Thanks for the reply

RVP deal is at deadlock. AFC happy to let RVP run his contract down as Wenger believes RVP will have a change of heart and sign a new deal by January if they get a good start to their PL and CL campaign. MUFC have made a final bid of £20M made up of a £12M immediate down payment, £6M to be paid in January 2013 and £2M on the 1st June 2013. MUFC will also pay a further £2m if they win the PL and £3M if they win the CL. AFC have so far refused to enter any major dialogue.

The Glazers want all business deals done during this window and do not want to outlay any money on new players in January barring any major injuries. After Kagawa and Powell no more than two players will be signed before the deadline. Lewandowski was being lined up for next season with Hernandez being given 1 year to improve after a poor season in 2011/12 but if the RVP situation is not resolved then this may happen sooner. Berbatov has had no concrete deals offered but MUFC expect a rush of offers on deadline day and an English club could be an option.

Believable6 Unbelievable24

Done pretty well until you ruined it for yourself by saying Berbatov has had no concrete offers. He has had three that I know about and because you have got that one wrong, how right is the rest of what you have said?

Sydney!

Agree3 Disagree0

What offers have we had for Berba Sid? I'm assuming they weren't suitable for him?...where do you think he will end up?..he deserves to get a chance somewhere as he is a
Quality player

Steve the red

Agree1 Disagree0

Hernandez had a poor season scored 12 welbek had an awesome season scored 12.if hernandez stayed on side he would score plenty more quilty player only out an out striker we have

Agree0 Disagree0

That was awfully thorough!do you have Saturday's lottery numbers??

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2012 20:21:21
Just saying, with Welbeck refusing to sign a new contract and being left out of the pre season there could be a big surprise when he might move on this summer. I think there is a good chance he will and with the statement below talking about a player in exchange for RVP then my bet would be Welbeck. Striker for a striker and it would make sense for us because we have a young striker called Will Keane coming through the reserves who SAF rates higher than Welbeck.
I don't have any inside sources but don't be surprised.

Dan

Believable12 Unbelievable12

I do not think Welbeck was left out of the tour, perhaps he got a knock or something.

But hows about Lewandowski & RVP in for Welbeck and Berbatov?

Now try and fit all of them in the line-up ;)

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

RE: Will Keane, I used to play for him and his brother Michael back when I was a youngun (as well as John Bishop's son Joe) and they are amazing! Both are going to be big, and are die hard united fans

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually read this too

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love that Syd. Though I would be happy if we sold both and just brought RVP. We have. Rooney, kagawa, Hernandez, Macheda and Keane. Hell we could get rid of Macheda for a few mil as well and I wouldn't complain if it was put towards Sneijder/modric/Moutinho/Martinez.

Dan

Agree1 Disagree0

Welbeck went to the Euro's with England so wasn't included in the pre season becasue of that. He wasn't "left out" as such, just given time off. He played against Barca didn't he? I think.

RedMist

Agree0 Disagree0

Welbeck played against Barca and Valerenga :/

Agree1 Disagree0

It has just been announced that Welbeck has signed a 5 year £75000 a week contract so don't look like he is going anywhere. Mores the pity.

Agree0 Disagree1

Welbeck is class and he aint going anywhere, thats why he has just signed a new contract!! Fergie rates him #FACT Rooney, RVP, Wellers, Hernandez, Kagawa great striking options for the coming season :-)

gaitan deal was done in january ,the fees was agreed and wanted him to stay at benfica so that they could sell nani in summer.he would be unveiled after nani is sold to the highest bidder.there are also some rumours in spain that man united are offering 15 million for isco.

can some one please tell me what is going on with malage cause last season they was rolling in the money and now there getting rid of all there best players and also is the isco kid being linked with us actually any good?

Believable9 Unbelievable0

He is quality, would improve our ball retention in Europe, is a great dribbler and passer. The only problem is he is very right footed, IMO we already have enough players who cut in from the left and shoot.

In a nutshell he is a more intelligent and European version of Young (but with far more potential).

Can't believe Young is 27!

They are having to try to balance their books in line with the new fair play rules. City and Chelski will need to do the same soon.

RVP to sign a new deal at Arsenal.

Juventus were favourites for him but due to their manager being banned for 10 months due to match fixing at his previous club, RVP decided he did not want to go there.

This left City and United in the race for RVP.

City have been told that, in order to put a bid in for RVP, they must first sell Adebayor and Santa Cruz to get them off the wages list. It seems as though neither want to leave because of the wages they are getting.

This leaves United.

United had a first bid of £12 million turned down and a recent second bid of £15 million turned down.

After all this RVP has changed his mind and now wants to stay with Arsenal. He sees that the club have plans of moving forward after the signings of Santi Cazorla, Olivier Giroud and Lukas Podolski.

Source:breadandbutterfootball.com

Believable18 Unbelievable25

I think RVP has agreed personal terms and is waiting for his agent to ring him and tell him to get on a plane to Manchester for a medical. The only way he will be staying at Arsenal is if SAF doesn't give AW what he wants.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Very believable...I just read and posted that on another website we have bid 23.6m for that lad from dortmund confirmed by polish t.v. and press

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would RVP sign away 20 million pounds over 4 years that is what extra he will earn joining United If he does not join us now he will walk on a free next year and the Arsenal Board will not let that happen again
ARB

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney, is there any concrete evidence that you have heard about RVP agreeing to personal terms with MU? Hard to tell what's BS and whats fact these days.
I find it hard too believe he has chosen MU as a possible destination. Not that your a chit club or anything, but he must know the ramifications of such a decision.
Ezdee

Agree0 Disagree0

Ezdee, what a few bad Tweets on Twitter? Nasri has been ripping it out of you since he signed for City. There will be no repercussions lad.

RVP's agent has held talks with United, City and Juventus officials over the past few months. He will know the offer we have on the table for him.

According to Ed002 the talks between SAF & Co and AW & Co have taken place today in London. They wouldn't be taking place if RVP wasn't interested in moving to United.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well actually Syd! If RVP has actually sanctioned his agents into speaking with your lot, I truly hope he goes then. We will be ok without him. No room for Judas at Arsenal. Man United however, vacancies galore. Enjoy him for the short time he wil play.
Ezdee
Ps Who is Nasri? And I'm too old to tweet.

Man Utd are the only team to have made a formal offer for Spanish U21 star Isco. The former Valencia man also has interest from Arsenal, but his preferred destination of the two would be Old Trafford after mouth-watering reviews from goalkeeper David De Gea whilst at the olympics. There is a £16 million buy out clause in his contract but it is believed that a bid of around 10-12million would be acceptable. The formal offer was just a letter from club to club stating of Man Utds high interest in the player and if he was available they would come back with an offer for the player. Lucas Moura was number 1 target but his move to PSG made Utd look elsewhere, Rodriguez of Porto and Isco were there other choices but with a huge offer needed for Rodriguez,Isco is the only option from the three.

RedKnight

Believable19 Unbelievable5

I can't see where we would play isco. He has impressed me when I have seen him play but he plays the role Rooney, Kagawa and RVP (if he came) plays. Well RVP can play that role.... Unless we try to make him into a xavi type player. His passing is good enough for it
The Red Manc

Agree0 Disagree0

Isco is very much a luxury, unless we intend to use him outwide OR if we aren't going for another striker as then we could do something like this in some games...

___________DDG
Rafa___Ferdy___Vidic__Evra
Tony__Kagawa__Clevs__Nani
___________Isco
__________Rooney

Thats not too bad either, and Isco could easily be dropped as he wouldn't come with a massive price tag and isn't a big name like RVP.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you answered the question really. Would be good to get another young Spaniard in, having 2 already here would be a good selling point to attracting others.

Agree0 Disagree0

He also plays wide left..but does cut in dramatically all the time.

Red Joe

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems like a decent player but if we buy a winger he needs to be left footed. this guys can't cross with his left just like nani and cuts in on the right. total waste of a wide midfielder, by the time the ball gets in the box all the players in there are standing still as their runs have been made. Isco not for me for this reason

Chaps,
Was chatting to an old mate of mine yesterday about te RVP saga. He (do I dare say) is a City fan, but he made a very good point that was, IF, City were still interested or even in the driving seat, then RVP we already be a Coty player. He says City's interest has stoppe because RVP is not interested in a move there.
This is too close to call but the way I see it is that RVP will either join us or stay at Arsenal and sign a new deal. However (as I said to Syd the othe day) I fully expect a bid in the excess of £20 million to go in either to tonight, tomorrow or Wedbesday. I am getting married on Saturday so I would very much like what I hear to be true as this would be a very welcome marriage present.

I think RVP will join eventually. Possible deadline day. Arsenal are going to want to try get as much as possible so they will hold out but as we have seen united before have held out, I think Arsenal will accept an 18-20 million bid even tho they want closer to 25 million for him.

This whole rvp deal is pointless arsenal want £20million for rvp who has said he won't renew his contract why don't we just wait until January and then sign a pre-contract as his heart is clearly set on a move to united so we will sign him next summer this summer focus on other targets e.g. Lewandowski or witsel etc.

Believable14 Unbelievable6

Ed, am i right in saying that RVP can only agree terms in January with a club outside of the EPL?

JK92 {Ed007's Note - Yes mate, players can only sign a pre-contract with a club in the same FA one month before his contract expires, the 6 month rule covers signing for a team in a different FA.}

Manchester utd hav made there final bid for RVP between 18 and 20 million saf wants to wait no more as new campaign is only a week away...So arsen take the money and do 1 uve stalled this to long RVP welcome to old Trafford ..... City beware were cumin for r trophy...

Believable6 Unbelievable10

So Arsenal have to "do 1" even though he is their player and they are entitled to ask for however much they like for him....

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal don't have to accept the bid- you sound like fergie... in fact its highly unlikely they will- they don't have to sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

This is why many people have a problem with Utd - breathtaking arrogance and complacency from some quarters.

RVP will be required by AFC to fulfil contractual obligation in order to provide continuity for new strike force. Then can walk for free to whoever he likes.

Would any club then be offering 200,000 / week for a near 30 year old?

AFC have GOOD finances and do not need to sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Aug 2012 15:37:31
Question for the eds. With all the speculation, what are the genuine transfers we might be seeing. It seems we are looking at everyone and their dog. Some of the players being mentioned are not good enough to get into the starting lineup and will be overpriced benchwarmers and that is the more man city transfer policy than united policy. {Ed002's Note - I have given my opinion in the responses.}

002, just wondering if you know of any recent contact to BVB by United regarding Lewandowski?

Thanks.

Believable8 Unbelievable2

Why is it unimportant whom the club were? It's important to us fans to know what players are being linked with the club?...thought that was the idea of the site?

Sir Alex Ferguson is set to up his bid for Robin van Persie to £20m in an attempt to push through a deal before the start of the season. The United manager has been at a deadlock with Arsenal over his move for the want-away striker, so far tabling an offer of £15m. He hoped that would be enough to prise the Dutchman away from the Emirates Stadium given that he is out of contract at the end of the season. But Ferguson is aware that Arsene Wenger does not want to sell to a Premier League rival and would much rather do business with Juventus. United are still banking on the belief that van Persie has set his heart on a switch to Old Trafford. They have become frustrated with Arsenal's negotiating tactics this summer, but believe an increased bid of £20m will be enough to convince them to

Believable18 Unbelievable11

I seen the exact same article in the IB Times too. Simply a copy and paste methinks

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh copy and paste makes it less of a rumour than typing it out /sigh

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't make sense spendning all the money on him at that age when you could get Lewandowski, Loriente or even have a go a getting Falcao!

If Ed002 is around and is happy enough to respond (or any other Ed who can answer):

I've just read that in regards to the RVP situation that Wenger and the Arsenal board are happy for the player to see out his contract and that RVP is very relaxed about the situation. Even to the extent that a £20m+ may not be enough. Is this correct? Do you have any information to shed light on the situation.

Thanks very much,

Rudderpost {Ed002's Note - If MUFC do not pay what is asked RvP has two realistic options - see out his contract or sign a new one. Ideally no one at Arsenal would want to see him leave for free.}

Believable7 Unbelievable6

Ed002, this is obviously why United are trying to get him on the cheap as Arsenal's board were banking on him being sold. Who do you think will win this battle Ed?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I don't see it as a battle Syd. Just a run of the mill transfer with a little negotiation. Either he will move to OT or sign a new deal. I don't see he would run it down. OT is a very real option so I think it will be favourite.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Hi Ed002. Tanks for your insights so far.
Am I way off here?
I feel arsenal will sell him, might go to deadline day though, since I feel they already signed his replacements and spent his transfer mone, and are therefor not in a hurry, but will need to recupe some of the outlay.
Thanks

Jonny8 {Ed002's Note - Arsenal are still on the look out for a striker. No one would deliberately delay a deal to deadline day because the risk is too high of losing the deal. If it goes that far it is because agreement cannot be reached.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not saying they are delaying it, but are in no hurry to agree a deal in time to be able to find a suitable replacement, since they already signed it.
But they might need to make as much money, to make up for the players signed already, and will therefor haggle as long as possible.
way off?

Jonny8

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, I know you do not like to get into the figures, but Twitter think we are paying £25m for him, whereas I believe it's closer to £15m. Would you be surprised if a deal is reached at more than £20m? Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Are Twitter including VAT, agent fees, VAT on agent fees and Administration fees? Perhaps that is the disparity. I suspect it will be more than £15M. Why are you looking at Twitter again?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, a lot of Twitter stories have appeared on here of late. Some saying £22m fee, £23m fee and £25m fee. Personally I think the fee will be between £15m-£20m. That's transfer fee alone of course. Cannot see United paying Arsenal upwards of £20m for RVP. I wouldn't be surprised if United are playing hardball on around £12m, but get a deal agreed around 17m/18m. Just my opinion of course, that's why I do not buy these Twitter rumours, I feel they are realistically too high.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Perhaps too low for even discussions Syd.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, so are discussions officially underway? Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - There is no "official" start to discussions Syd. Do you think they have a bell or a whistle to start them?}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, but the manager did say that Arsenal are ignoring United, what I mean is are talks now happening? Thanks again.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - My understanding is that Wenger is still facing the wall. Ferguson stamped his feet for a few minutes earlier in frustration. He will have headed back to the Shelton Hotel by now.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, not looking good then?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - No doubt after a refreshing glass of grapefruit juice and lemonade at the London Sheldon Hotel bar SAF will see sense and pay up.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Not a bottle of Claret then Ed?

Ed, you have got to laugh at the rumours that keep coming through haven't you? He must have signed 30 times in two days ;)

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Thx Ed002. Love your sense of humour.
Do arsenal need to sell to balance the book?
They spent a lot more then usual, but we're always adament there is money to spend.
I thought they would have spent the RvP money already and this made me optimistic, but I don't have a clue
Lol

Jonny8 {Ed002's Note - I think the concept of "balancing the books" is an over used cliche.}

Dan {Ed002's Note - Putting aside the money, yes, Modric will be moving to Real Madrid.}

32m euros rising to 37m euros I heard.

It's a shame he only had eyes for RM.

Levy was under immense pressure as he needs time to complete the Spurs signings.

Could we see Stekelenburg, M'Vila & Damiao join Spurs this month?

We won't be making any big signings in this window it will be like previous windows plenty of hope and promise then the window will close and we will move on to more rumors about January. SAF and the board are happy for these stories to run in the press to take the heat of them. You may not like it but it's true. Maybe we will sign some more squad Players. Happy with what I've seen from kagawa so far thou. If we had paid £30+mil for him I expect there would be alot more fuss about him.

Lewandoski is going to be our next signing, not RVP. Watch it happening. I have a strong source that informed me and confirmed me the negotiations between two clubs. It's confirmed and Lewandoski is going to be our player in this transfer window.

Don't forget that I was the first one to announce it!

Saleemi!

Believable14 Unbelievable23

Since when where you the first to announce it because if you think this is the first time that rumour has be said you are mistaken

Agree0 Disagree0

No way dortmund would sell two of there best players to united.would be great if it happened but no way.

Agree0 Disagree0

I am the first to confirm the signing, not the first one to spread the rumor which might not happen later no!

Just because RVP played today doesn't mean he isn't coming to us. There is a possibility it was a goodbye to the Arsenal fans. I think if he was definitely staying he would have played at least a full half as I'm sure Wenger would have wanted him to have had a game playing with Podolski, Giroud and Cazorla.

I suspect part of the reason Podolski stayed on was to say goodbye to Cologne, but it is suspicious that it was RVP left to come on.

Ed002, I've seen different editors say different things about van Persie and whether he'll stay or come to us. What would you say is most like at the moment?

Thanks for your time.

Get a grip Fergie and Gill to sign someone?....you forgetting the excellent signings of Powell and Kagawa?...

Why buy people just for the sake of it?...think you need to get a grip!

Rennes have claimed they received a bid for M'Vila from an English Club. Could be any of the top four or even Liverpool. Would love to see him at United. And if he goes to Arsenal i would like to see A.Song come to us. Both are strong in the tackle and are good distributors of the ball.

It's to Spurs mate. Unless there is a late hijack by other clubs. Arsenal are out for sure. They passed him on earlier and he was unhappy with it.

You are having a laugh Alex song is rubbish
He's a hacker plus he's already agreed a move to Barcelona
No way should he come to OT

I still have a feeling Robert Lewandowski will be our next signing and not RVP he is younger, fitter and matches Fergie's transfers of the past not paying high for ageing players.

George

Believable28 Unbelievable11

I said a while back we had a bid turned down for him, would much prefer him to RVP aswell. No idea if we'll go back for him I hope we do though.
