Just finished watching palermo v fiorentina and Ljajic was fantastic when he came on set up two goals. Just wondering the reason we pulled out of the deal for him could of been the man to unlock the oppents deffence for united. p!&

We couldn't get a work permit for him, so we had to pull out of the deal. Rumours had it that we also didn't rate him at the price we had to pay, but that's a moot point if he couldnt get the work permit.

18.3m + Hargreaves?

You are joking right? Inter would NEVER take that deal.

Sneider is going to cost anyone over 25m at least!

Ed - Has Hargreaves officially retired? And is the compensation amount common knowledge? I can't really find anything online that seems reliable.

Just quit with the galzers selling stuff. . .enuf.

They have given an interview in the states that says the club is not for sale at any price and Qatar holdings just the other day said that they had explored buying Utd but have been told its just not for sale. Their last bid was 1.5bill but were told if they tripled it the club would still not be for sale so can we just move on.

they are now exploring other ventures. Quotes from them directly so just leave it for goodness sake.

Thanks jono i didn't realise it was to do with his work permit, shame really looks to be a good player, maybe we'll renew interest later in his carrer.

All this nonsense about young, Adam, Sanchez etc

The "mysterious"player is oxlade-chamberlain!

Can't reveal source for obvious reasons but to be honest it doesn't take a brain surgeon to work it out! Also the iturbe deal WILL happen but not for another 12 months UTD staff feel he needs more experience before coming!

Charlie Adam, is the player Fergie wanted, it all fits perfectly

. .and here's why

- At the beginning of Jan Fergie stated that there was NO chance that he would bring anyone in during the Jan transfer window

- On 9th Jan Kenny Dalglish was appointed at Liverpool and Liverpool made a bid for Charlie Adam on the same day, coincidently that was the day on which Fergie made a complete U-Turn and decided he may bring one player in

- Liverpools bid was rejected and United played Blackpool soon after, Fergie commented after the game about Adam's dead ball attributes being worth £10 million

- Watch the game back where the final whistle goes, Mike Phelan made a particular effort to shake Charlie Adam's hand at full time, David Vaughan, Elliot Grandin and even Craig Cathcart walked straight past him, but he went out of his way to shake Adam's hand

- Deadline day, everyone expects Adam to sign for Liverpool, sky sports throughout the day and several times reported that Adam was the subject of an improved bid from Liverpool which had again been rejected, they also said that United had agreed to match any bid, suggesting that United were interested in signing him in the summer but would complete the transfer in the current window if necessary to ensure he didn't go elsewhere, also accounting for the reason why James Cooper also stated that OT sources said that no business is expected to be done today.

- As 11pm approaches on deadline day Liverpool are still trying to force through a move as Tottenham come in, Charlie Adam is still at Blackpool and mysteriously at just after 11pm with no transfer to Tottenham even close he comes out of Bloomfield road, gives a thumbs up to the sky cameras and says 'I'm sorted' (I believe Blackpool told him of Uniteds intentions to sign him in the summer and this stopped him forcing through a move on the day)

- Ten minutes after the deadline Adam is on Sky Sports saying that he is fully comitted to Blackpool for the remainder of the season, now if you had just been denied a move to a Champions League club i think you would be a little too angry to give an interview like that within 10 minutes, no one is that professional.

- February 5th Fergie does an interesting interview regarding Adam with MUTV, where he confirms that he spoke to Ian Holloway about Adam and again praised him

Couple these with the fact that. .

- Fergie seldom speaks about transfers and when he does we usually see one of two respones, 'I'm not going to discuss our transfer plans', or 'We are not, never have been, and never will be interested in this player' (look at Sneijder) suggesting that he is very confident of signing Adam.
- Adam has been outed as a huge United fan and watches as many home games at Old Trafford as possible.- Any player at any club let alone a club of Blackpools size would be able to force through a transfer in a situation like Adam's on deadline day, it was almost a fact that he would sign for Liverpool, there would have been little Blackpool could have done without losing the player one way or the other (he leaves or he lacks future commitment).

I'm surprised the press haven't jumped on this.

I know everyone is hoping it is a player like Ashley Young or Alexis Sanchez but after Nani's current performences, the returning Valencia, Park's contribution this season, and Giggs for another year, where would another winger currently fit in.

I honestly believe that we will see the same wingers next season, at the end of next season Giggs will retire and if spurs fail to reach the CL, we will sign Gareth Bale for the 2012/ 2013 season

I have it from a source in AON that a deal will happen, the glazers know now is the time to sell as the money may tighten up in football, just look at clubs closing up in ireland, also the yanks know that the sheiks won't wait for ever .i hope the yanks go as they are no good for football whichever club they have.i wouldn't like to see us go down the road as city as we have some great young players and would be unfair not to give them a chance as they put there faith in the club when they signed as most would have had the pick of lots of clubs
