€22m SOUTH AMERICAN STARLET POSES 'INTERESTING' PROPOSITION FOR UNITED

Sir Alex Ferguson admits he has been monitoring Chile sensation Alexis Sanchez, although Manchester United will reportedly have to fight of Chelsea's advances for his signature.

According to Goal.com, Chelsea are lining up a €22 million swoop for the Udinese attacker but United are also thought to be closely monitoring his progress.

Indeed, Ferguson has admitted he has been keeping tabs on the 22-year-old with a view to bringing him to Old Trafford.

"We have looked at Sanchez and he has impressed us, as have other players, " said the United boss, as quoted by talkSPORT. "He has had very good games and is an interesting project."

Sanchez - dubbed 'the next Cristiano Ronaldo' - has allegedly been coveted by the Red Devils for some time and now, according to the Daily Mirror, he has stated his intention to play in England

Sanchez's reported comments succeed those from his agent within the last month - admitting United have been eyeing the youngster for a while.

Fernando Felicevich said: "Manchester United has been following the performances of Alexis since some time ago and it could be a possibility in the future.

"The Premier League would be a good destination for Alexis as he is young, strong and very fast, something very important for being able to have success in that league."

Sanchez has long be earmarked as a star for the future after he was ranked by World Soccer magazine in 2007 as one of the 50 most exciting teenage footballers in the world, alongside the likes of Sergio Aguero and Bojan Krkic.

The tricky winger joined Udinese three years ago and the Italian side have reportedly had to consistently fight off interest for Sanchez - the most notable being a reported €12 million bid from United.

Come on , we are not going to sign Ronaldo in January. Someone is winding us all up. Firstly we don't do big business in Jan. Second if it was a managerial issue there is no way that it would be announced in Jan leaving the team in limbo for 5 months.
We got this at Christmas with the 27th Dec rumour.

What it does tell us is that we are hungry for a top player to join us.

If it is anyone it will be a medium purchase, a £15 to 20M like Ngiak says.

For the want of a scouse expression , calm down.

SAF still trying for Benzema. Summer target but talking now.

I hope this doesn't fly coz I see this guy as more trouble than he's worth but SAF seems like a dog with a bone for this guy. Is Rooney well and truly out of favour and possibly out the door in a big money Transfer in Summer.

Also SAF has apparently told the powers that be at OT when he plans to retire so all transfers or actions from here are leading towards that. Hope its not this season end personally.

Replacement - Mourhino of course. Already agreed. Hoping this isn't the news the other poster is taliking about re Real Madrid.

Any of you guys seen the interview with Holloway on SSN. Talks about Adam moving on and says he shud wait til summer but if Utd came in he would have to tell him to go. .also then goes on to say I see him sending balls thru to Rooney/Berb type players.

Do we think SAF has had a word or are they just wanting him to?

@Manchester United still have first option on Dodo until he's 21. He is 'apparently' contracted to United in some sort of way but he is still a Corinthians player. Its complicated but what I do know is he will be a United player when we are ready to take him.

So the latest ludicrous story to appear is that Jose Mourinho wants to take both Javier Hernandez and Nemanja Vidic to Real Madrid in a £40million + Pepe double move. Of course this comes from Givemefootball and isn't the least bit believable and it has to be said, if Sir Alex agreed to sell those 2 then we may aswell all pack up and go home.

Re: Michel Bastos. He is a much more effective player as a left winger. Yes he plays left back for the Brazilian national team, but it is not his natural position. He is average defensively, which is a plus as a winger, but a negative as a left back. Very pacy, provides fantastic service from the left flank, and is very adept at cutting inside and finishing with either foot (32 goals in the last 2 1/2 seasons). IMO would solve any and all problems on our left wing, would be a fantastic signing.

No obviously you haven't read it correct. You would have understood it if you read the who thing, and also you can quite clearly see in this I do not mean Evra.

It says if Evra stays we could sign him as a left-wing player. Why would we sign Evra for left-wing when he already plays for us in left-back!

Myself and the Ed were infact talking about the speculation regarding a £22m transfer for Michel Bastos (Brazil) of Olympique Lyonnais. He can play both left-back and left-wing with an equal talent at both. And to add to that he would sort out our Left foot problem and also our Free Kick problems, as he is World Class at them.

It is an easy mistake to make but next time read the full thing , and do not jump ship, as if my post says at the top 'In reply to' then it is obviously in reply to some other post so all you have to do was scroll down and find it.
