Lot of talk Harry has gone over sale of Modric to Utd

Pardoe

Believable19 Unbelievable11

I think that Harry was braced for any possible Modeic sale, I heard it was Harry's interest in England job that caused Levy to throw his toys out of pram and reuse to offer him new contract. Shame for Spurs as I think he is a great manager

Enigma

Agree0 Disagree0

Dunno. Hearing him on the euro motd he seemed keen to stay on at spurs. I think levey is P***d about the drop in form and all the England manager malarky (missing out on champs league) and just doesn't want to give Harry a new contract.

Agree0 Disagree0

No theyre not that just a lie , he's going for what ever stupid reasons spurs will give but don't link him going to utd buying a player ,we would all know if a player is actually signed , nothing is a secret for more than 24 yrs anymore

Dustbin

Agree0 Disagree0

I struggle to keep secrets for 24hrs, let alone 24yrs

Jaxer

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol pint of what that guy is on ^^^^^

Agree0 Disagree0

BTW guys, I can't keep it quiet any longer, now brace yourselves: pound notes are no longer valid legal tender!

Pheww, feel so much better having that one off my chest.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2012 21:57:59
Look like Harry is leaving Spurs do you think that will make Modric even more determined to leave himself?
ARB

Believable24 Unbelievable6

Could do, either way I think we have to strike now before a potentially strong manager has the chance to have a 1-on-1 talk with Modric and convince him to stay.

MattL

Agree0 Disagree0

And maybe Bale....

This Willems at LB for the Netherlands who we've been linked with is looking very out of depth. No better than anyone we already have by the looks, granted it's my view based on one game against tough opp, but still ...

Primary Red

Believable27 Unbelievable3

No your views are based on the stupid commentary , watch the game don't listen to it . I've not seen him before but he's not as bad as those 2 idiots are making out

Dustbin

Agree0 Disagree0

He's 18.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

So did evra on his debut v city.
big red bob

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. Didnt look good in the first game as well.

Devil for Life

Agree0 Disagree0

Alot of people slate the twins then go onto say sign Alba and Wellens both of which IMO aren't better than the twins. They have potential. As soon as we get linked with players via the media people immediately assume we will sign them, etc or all of sudden become their preference.

Van Wolfswinkel is a great example. As soon as we got linked to him he was everyones or nearly everyones must signing up front..... know no-one mentions his name.

I know i might sound like a t++t here with my rant...... but i think people are quick to jump on the bandwagon.

Yes i know its a banter site so im prepared for the onslaught of abuse aimed at me.

Mad Hatter

Agree0 Disagree0

Willems has looked out of his depth tonight he hasn't played well, first half was shocking. Take a step back though the boy is 18 and playing at a major tournament against probably the 2nd best side in international football. He will be an outstanding left back in a couple of years and I fully expect him to fulfil his potential wherever he ends up. I'd love us to buy him and loan him back to PSV for a year.

Rjmanutd

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed. I think that's happened with Strootman. Everyone hears rumors, watches a few you tubeclips and suddenly he's the best thing since sliced bread. Strootman is not good enough!

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe wait a year or two, but he will be a quality player. Still think he would be a better investment then Baines!

TRJC

Agree0 Disagree0

There's a plan behind the Banes deal. SAF says that he wants Fabio to develop. So, why buy ANOTHER young, talented (but not ready) left back when we have one? Solution: buy an older (ready now) left back that can be replaced by Fabio/Fryers/Blackett when they mature and Baines goes past his best and into his 30s.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mad Hatter you may be a twunt, but i think most people would agree with you

In my opinion we should do EVERYTHING possible to get 'Ozil' and 'Hummels' both fantastic young players and in a couple seasons could be the best! What are the chance of getting them? Eds? {Ed002's Note - Hummels is not for sale. I don't see Oezil necessarily being available in the summer but there will be no shortage of interest from England and Italy if he is, not least Inter Milan who bid against Madrid to buy him originally, and Juventus. Whilst he had what was seen as a very good season last year, this season has been patchy at best with a lot of time on the bench. Real Madrid may listen to offers in the region of 25M euros or so.}

Believable18 Unbelievable6

If it truly is 25m euros then surely we should bidding, I would bid 40m euros for Ozil!

MelonRed

Agree0 Disagree0

At 25 million euro, I think Ozil is a steal if available.

Devil for Life

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to see us signing ozil, we can play him on the left wing or he can keep changing position with kagawa in a match. if we can sign him then i think that would be more than enough for our squad i would love to see us sign debuchy he was playing pretty good for france. if we dont get either of them i would want us to sign a dm or a left footed left wing and a left back

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002
no way madrid wud sell there top assist man, 57 assists in the last two years in la liga more than xavi and iniesta together, is modric is 30mil this guy is 60mil , ed i dnt think u watch real that much ozil made 52 appearances this year him and ronaldo r the 1st names on the sheet
sulei

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love both at our club but I can't see why people think real Madrid would sell , they'd be mental to lose a player of ozils quality and he certainly won't want to leave . Hummels looks class

Dustbin

Agree0 Disagree0

57 assists? Lol, do you want to think about that again? There is NO chance a player has 57 assists in 54 games, no chance at all.

MPez

Agree0 Disagree0

Mpez
57 assists last 2 years, 54 is the numbe rof apearances of this year ur misreading
sulei

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozil had 24 assists this year not sure about last year
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

MPez,

He's credited with 49 on Wikipedia...

Ed002 - to be honest, I think you're a little off in your assessment. He's started just about every Madrid game I've seen this season. He's usually subbed off with 20 minutes to go because he runs out of juice.

I can't see them even thinking once about selling him.

DarkLard08 {Ed002's Note - He started on the bench in 8 games - but fine.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozil for 25million would be an amazing buy

Agree0 Disagree0

As said "Madrid just won't sell their main schemer" if they did I'd have thought we'd be talking of double 25m Euros mentioned, (a Euro is roughly 80p, so 25m is about 20 million quid). Ozil is young, experienced, can play just about anywhere in midfield, or even as a 2nd striker. He is in the 35m - 40m pounds category.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Patchy season Ed? high standards, was outstanding imo and one of the key reasons that madrid won the league. Would take him in a heartbeat but very much doubt mourinho would let him go.

Really don't think we should sell nani. He is really good at going past defenders and in the euros tonight he has set up a goal and played lots of great crosses in the box. I think he is the most naturally skilful player who can take it past a player.

Mufc

Believable28 Unbelievable13

Rumour supposedly Krasic and 18m for nani out of Juventus

Obviously Twitter

Pardoe

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't want Krasic and 18 million won't replace Nani. Nani is out genii in the bottle,
he's our abracadabra,he is one of our few magicians among grafters. I thought he looked better than the great Ronaldo today by a distance. Christiano is a bit of a flat track bully.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

What is the obsession for wanting wingers not proven in the prem. 2 seasons ago he was the top assisted player

Agree0 Disagree0

Its typical Nani, plays well for one game then will do nothing the next. this is the reason why he has to go. he has had enough seasons and each time people say "oh it'll be his year this year".

melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

But every year he gets good assists and scores goals for a winger.
He's not a Ronaldo, Nani is a winger.
He's got good skills and is a threat.
One of our best.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we should keep Nani too. If he stays fit for most of next season I back him to put a couple of good runs of form together and bag a hatful of goals and assists. He will never be fully consistant but then not many wingers are

Gav

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Melwing28. Good news for us is that this performance will do wonders for boosting his price tag. IMO if we can get circa 30m or more for Nani then we should bid up to but not more than 40m for Bale. Look at what Bale has done at only 22 he reminds me so much of Giggsy at that age.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nani was the best player for portugal in their first two games for me. Also he has been clearly told to stick to the touch line and not come inside, it looks to be working a treat. Good crosses and no losing the ball coming inside. Really dont want him sold

Agree0 Disagree0

Only sell him if we are sure to get one of either Ribery or Bale. Otherwise the it is simply a downgrade.

Agree0 Disagree0

We won't buy Ribery he's 29 and as for bake we couldn't afford his 40 million price tag

Agree0 Disagree0

Ribary is overrated and Bale is more inconsistent than Nani, I think these are as sharp a downgrades as Gaitan or Krasic. Everyone cries out for some creativity, it's in the nature of creative players to be inconsistent. It's all part of their magic, no one knows what is going to happen next. People cry out for other wingers, who they watch on YouTube and think they play like that for 40 games per season. Get real, or pray for the consistent Gareth Barry robot sort, all sweat and no guile, their consistent, boring as f**k though. Please get off Nani's back.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

How many times do we have this conversation.

What we need is a left footed winger and Nani would provide funds for that. Valencia is much more effective than Nani. If Valencia gets injured then young can cover his position but if Young gets injured there is no left wing. Nani has never been able to play on the left {Ed004's Note - I actually prefer to play Nani on the left instead of Young}

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2012 18:33:08
Fabio contrao and m'villa is there any interest in them from us contrao better than baines doesnt really get game time with madrid and hed only be a few million more than baines and m'villa is great young dm what you think? {Ed002's Note - Coentrao is not for sale. Inter Milan, Arsenal, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Manchester City, Bayern Munich and Juventus have all shown a determined interest in M'Vila and perhaps PSG and Barcelona will become interested as well. However, he remains there for the taking of Arsenal should they make an offer that is acceptable to Rennes.}

Believable10 Unbelievable7

Apparently koscielny is trying to convince M'vila to move to Arsenal. This must mean he is not keen to move to Arsenal and apparently last year he said he would love to move to united. He would be my no.1 target after Modric.

Agree0 Disagree0

Real have Marcello and Contrao. Its amazing they can hold onto them both because both of them would walk into any side in the world right now. I'm struggling to think of better full backs except for Lahm (Ashley Cole on his way down).

Havent heard this guys name in a while, but any idea whats the situation on Wilfried Zaha? Ed002, Syd?

Daniel {Ed002's Note - He will be allowed to move this summer at the right price and Sunderland, West Ham and Reading look possible destinations.}

Believable8 Unbelievable2

From the few times I've seen him play that's about his level I would have thought. Electric pace and can get past players but his final ball isn't great

(No comparisons with Nani please!)

Hey Ed, is there any interest from Man Utd in Dede from Vasco da Gama? He seems to be a very good centre-back and there is only interest being shown from AC Milan as far as I know.

Breeno {Ed002's Note - Both Milan clubs, Real Madrid, Fiorentina, Benfica and Roma have shown an interest in Dede over the past couple of years but Juventus, Manchester United and Bayern Munich retain a serious interest in the player. Anzhi may look to make a bid in the summer but would prefer to wait until the end of the season in December.}

Believable9 Unbelievable0

I really rate this guy. Apparently SAF sent Stam to check him out and Stam said to buy him at all costs!

i think we should forget about clyne and bid for debuchey hes 26 and therefore wud still mean rafael has a future at the club, lille stated they want ..wait for it..only 8million euro not pounds we shud defo bid, id be gutted if newcastle got em
sulei

Believable17 Unbelievable10

He would be a great signing and for that money is peanuts these days

Agree0 Disagree0

Clyne is awesome and is available on a free transfer.Though united will have to pay compensation of about 2m but he is already an english u21 international, and definitely a future prospect

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree if he went to Newcastle for that sort of fee, it would be an absolute bargain.

In my opinion debuchy looks good enough for our first team straight away based on last year at Lille and the recent french internationals, get him & clyne for £12m combined and you got our RB position covered for potentially 10 years.

Gpot7 {Ed004's Note - And what do we do with Rafael? It is obvious Fergie trusts him or we would have bought a right back last summer. He has also kept a lot of top names quiet in games, Ribery, Bale etc}

Agree0 Disagree0

We dont desperately need a right back IMO. Between Rafael, Jones and Smalling then you can cover all tactical situations in that position and they are all only going to improve.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love clyne to sign.. looks a very good prospect and it is good to have an english core.....

they are less inclined to want a move back home or abroad......

amos
clyne
jones
smalling
blackett

would make an intesting back 5 potentially for wc or next euro's if they all got game time between now and then and together

Agree0 Disagree0

No need for a rightback, we have Rafael, Jones and Smalling to cover that position.

Agree0 Disagree0

13 Jun 2012 15:24:01
Are we intersted in Stevan Jovetic or is it just spurs? And if junior holliet is available for a free transfer i think it would be a decent signing {Ed002's Note - Arsenal did show previous interest in Jovetic, but Roma, Chelsea, Spurs and Napoli remain interested if and when he becomes available if the price is acceptable.

Reading, Spurs, Galatasaray, Sunderland, Newcastle, Stoke, Arsenal and possibly Aston Villa and QPR have been interested - plus a couple of clubs from Germany (Borussia Monchengladbach and Bayern Munich) and Marseille from France. I understand that Roma have dropped their interest after an offer of a pre-contract agreemnent was spurned. The English sides were at a disadvantage in the chase for Hoilett now as he is in to the last six months of his contract and he can talk to interested parties from outside of England but as time moves on that is becoming less of an issue. A move to Reading, Aston Villa or Stoke is unlikely. If pushed, I would say North London or foreign shores (Borussia Monchengladbach or Galatasaray) are the most likely destinations}

Ed002;

1. Any idea if we have actually had contact with Spurs about Modric yet?

2. Do we have concrete interest in Willems? If so, I guess this rules out Baines.

3. I'm not going to randomly pluck out some players that we've been linked with and ask you about them, instead, do you know of any other players besides the above that we have genuine interest in?

Thanks,

rpc {Ed002's Note - (1) Spurs are aware of interest from a number of clubs in Modric - one of these is Manchester United. (2) Jetro Willems is very much a target but don't forget he is still very young. (3) I don't think I am hiding anything in particular right now.}

Do have any info on Kwadwo Asamoah transfer..?
Is his transfer to Juventus an almost done deal or Utd are still after him..?

hearing rumours that januzaj will be going on tour with the 1st team this summer, cant imagine hes anywhere near the 1st team so if true i guess its for experience but hopefully this means a bright future at utd for him

Good point never thought about that!

Its probably also a message to him saying that he has a future at the club. Also, he is one of the best youngsters in the world for his age group he will turn a few heads mark my words!
Is Daehli in the pre season squad do we know?

Agree0 Disagree0

This year will be a great opportunity for us to take a few of the youngster's on pre-season hopefully due to the Euro's/Olympics. I think it can only be good for their development and for making them feel a genuine part of the team, which is a bonus

powell and kagawa got. just waiting for kagawa's international clearence. time to get modric and baines. lewandowski is staying at borussia dortmund, giroud a £12mil target for arsenal. berbatov of to PSG. apparently we can get modric for £25mil. any news on Ganso or lucas. eriksen isnt going anywhere. all from sky sports.

Believable15 Unbelievable9

Do you really think we'd be willing to pay Evertons asking price for Baines? They'd want atleast 20 mil

Agree0 Disagree0

Swear Aly Cissohko is a better LB than Baines? Would be cheaper and like Kagawa he's already stated his ambition to play for United.

Doubt Ganso, Eriksen or even Lucas will move this year. Fairly sure Ganso still has his heart set on a move to AC Milan anyway?

Macheda goin to besiktas 6million
Superdecs

Believable28 Unbelievable5

We can only hope, truth of the matter is he will probably go there on loan with a view to a permanent move and the fee would be around £2m.

Sydney!

What a dream strikeforce of Bebe and Macheda

Cban

Agree0 Disagree0

6m! Where do these prices come from? That means we should get 20m for berba! Ridiculous.

I wish this were true.

T0MB0Z

6m yes please! hes useless! if hes 6 can see why fergie sees not alot of value in the market!

Agree0 Disagree0

I know he's not everyone's favorite, but I think we should give him one last chance to sort himself out... he just seems a waste of talent. I'd just keep him till january and tell him to prove himself in the "capital one cup".
but then again i'm not the boss

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually seems a done deal. My friend in Turkey has confirmed it and they are really excited. Am not sure they really should be that excited anyway.

Ed what do you think the chances are that Utd may look at Clint Dempsey, he a proven goalscorer who can play on the left wing, in midfield and behind the striker. he covers lots of ground and good in the air. and with only one year left on his contract his fee won't be sky high. plus it will be his chance to play champions league football. Do you think Utd would be interested. {Ed004's Note - I think extremely unlikely}

Believable6 Unbelievable27

He seems Arsenal bound.

T0MB0Z

Some good rumours goin round last nite at the charity match at old trafford , nico gaitan apparently a done deal at 15 million to replace fabio and push evra for the left back sp

Ozwald II {Ed004's Note - Gaitan is a left winger not a left back though?}

Believable3 Unbelievable44

Yeh sure buy a midfielder to replace a right back ?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ozwald II seems to be posting a lot of things that are really far fetched and quite silly.

GDS

All Gaitan has is a left foot...

T0MB0Z

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow I've got a left foot too :) SAF sign me up!

LUKE CHADWICKS LOVE CHILD

Agree0 Disagree0

FYI Fabio is a left back, not right back.
But yeah, why would Gaitan replace a left back?

Agree0 Disagree0

Didn't Fabio play right back against Barca in the 2011 Champions League Final??

Langers

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Ozwald II had too many sherberts before the match last night!

The story was probably more like We were interested in Gaitan but would not pay mroe than £15million and Fabio will go out on loan for a season and then replace Evra the following year

Agree0 Disagree0

Alas ny fellow brethren has already pointed out the obvious 'Gaitan is not a leftback faux pas'.

If we were to sign Gaitan though I would see this as positive but wont happen for £15m!

Swap Gaitan for Nani anyone ?

Halesini

Agree0 Disagree0

WTF 'Ozwald II' ?

Don't want to be associated with this pillock. Can you not think of your own name?

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Gaitan is nowhere near as good as Nani and the only way we should swop, (which I really hope and believe we won't), is if we got 15+ million well.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Mangers - Fabio plays on either side, but mostly at leftback since his twin plays rightback.

Agree0 Disagree0

The only person that should be replacing Nani is Gareth Bale! It will cost a bomb but would be worth it, everyone knows SAF is a big admirer. The fact that united have 'tested the water' for Nani must mean that SAF has a replacement in mind.

Agree0 Disagree0

Here we go again, oz 2 spouting rubbish again, it was Cahill and Howard the other day, oh! And Baines! Make your mind up who the left back is going to be!

This guy is one of the best strikers in the world. Taking a knock off price to get this guy would be a great move imo.

Have we shown any real interest in witsel or cabaye anyone know?

Believable6 Unbelievable19

None of the newspapers have mentioned an interest in either - so I suppose it's possible!

T0MB0Z

Agree0 Disagree0

Havent both been at their clubs one year? thats usually a longshot to transfer them

Agree0 Disagree0

United enquired for Cabye at the end of the season, and was told there was no chance of being sold. He was one of our targets for the centre mid spots. We havent showed any interest in Witsel for 2 years now, we were looking into buying him before he went to Benfica, but he did a leg breaking tackle on a player, and Fergie wasnt impressed. Then after his first year at Benfica we enquired about him and was quoted 25million, which sure enough put us right off

Agree0 Disagree0

Roy Keane damaged people and SAF was still impressed with him. I think at 25 million euros (just over 20 million quid), he'd be an excellent buy
