I think that Harry was braced for any possible Modeic sale, I heard it was Harry's interest in England job that caused Levy to throw his toys out of pram and reuse to offer him new contract. Shame for Spurs as I think he is a great manager

Dunno. Hearing him on the euro motd he seemed keen to stay on at spurs. I think levey is P***d about the drop in form and all the England manager malarky (missing out on champs league) and just doesn't want to give Harry a new contract.

Alot of people slate the twins then go onto say sign Alba and Wellens both of which IMO aren't better than the twins. They have potential. As soon as we get linked with players via the media people immediately assume we will sign them, etc or all of sudden become their preference.

Van Wolfswinkel is a great example. As soon as we got linked to him he was everyones or nearly everyones must signing up front..... know no-one mentions his name.

I know i might sound like a t++t here with my rant...... but i think people are quick to jump on the bandwagon.

Willems has looked out of his depth tonight he hasn't played well, first half was shocking. Take a step back though the boy is 18 and playing at a major tournament against probably the 2nd best side in international football. He will be an outstanding left back in a couple of years and I fully expect him to fulfil his potential wherever he ends up. I'd love us to buy him and loan him back to PSV for a year.

Agreed. I think that's happened with Strootman. Everyone hears rumors, watches a few you tubeclips and suddenly he's the best thing since sliced bread. Strootman is not good enough!

Maybe wait a year or two, but he will be a quality player. Still think he would be a better investment then Baines!

There's a plan behind the Banes deal. SAF says that he wants Fabio to develop. So, why buy ANOTHER young, talented (but not ready) left back when we have one? Solution: buy an older (ready now) left back that can be replaced by Fabio/Fryers/Blackett when they mature and Baines goes past his best and into his 30s.

Really don't think we should sell nani. He is really good at going past defenders and in the euros tonight he has set up a goal and played lots of great crosses in the box. I think he is the most naturally skilful player who can take it past a player.

We don't want Krasic and 18 million won't replace Nani. Nani is out genii in the bottle,
he's our abracadabra,he is one of our few magicians among grafters. I thought he looked better than the great Ronaldo today by a distance. Christiano is a bit of a flat track bully.

Its typical Nani, plays well for one game then will do nothing the next. this is the reason why he has to go. he has had enough seasons and each time people say "oh it'll be his year this year".

I think we should keep Nani too. If he stays fit for most of next season I back him to put a couple of good runs of form together and bag a hatful of goals and assists. He will never be fully consistant but then not many wingers are

Agree Melwing28. Good news for us is that this performance will do wonders for boosting his price tag. IMO if we can get circa 30m or more for Nani then we should bid up to but not more than 40m for Bale. Look at what Bale has done at only 22 he reminds me so much of Giggsy at that age.

Nani was the best player for portugal in their first two games for me. Also he has been clearly told to stick to the touch line and not come inside, it looks to be working a treat. Good crosses and no losing the ball coming inside. Really dont want him sold

Only sell him if we are sure to get one of either Ribery or Bale. Otherwise the it is simply a downgrade.

We won't buy Ribery he's 29 and as for bake we couldn't afford his 40 million price tag

Ribary is overrated and Bale is more inconsistent than Nani, I think these are as sharp a downgrades as Gaitan or Krasic. Everyone cries out for some creativity, it's in the nature of creative players to be inconsistent. It's all part of their magic, no one knows what is going to happen next. People cry out for other wingers, who they watch on YouTube and think they play like that for 40 games per season. Get real, or pray for the consistent Gareth Barry robot sort, all sweat and no guile, their consistent, boring as f**k though. Please get off Nani's back.

How many times do we have this conversation.

What we need is a left footed winger and Nani would provide funds for that. Valencia is much more effective than Nani. If Valencia gets injured then young can cover his position but if Young gets injured there is no left wing. Nani has never been able to play on the left {Ed004's Note - I actually prefer to play Nani on the left instead of Young}

Havent heard this guys name in a while, but any idea whats the situation on Wilfried Zaha? Ed002, Syd?

From the few times I've seen him play that's about his level I would have thought. Electric pace and can get past players but his final ball isn't great

He would be a great signing and for that money is peanuts these days

Clyne is awesome and is available on a free transfer.Though united will have to pay compensation of about 2m but he is already an english u21 international, and definitely a future prospect

I agree if he went to Newcastle for that sort of fee, it would be an absolute bargain.

In my opinion debuchy looks good enough for our first team straight away based on last year at Lille and the recent french internationals, get him & clyne for £12m combined and you got our RB position covered for potentially 10 years.

We dont desperately need a right back IMO. Between Rafael, Jones and Smalling then you can cover all tactical situations in that position and they are all only going to improve.

I would love clyne to sign.. looks a very good prospect and it is good to have an english core.....

Ed! Any reason why there is no rumour linking kovacic with any of the clubs.There was a lot of buzz about him in january and now when he is a free agent he has not been linked to anybody.

powell and kagawa got. just waiting for kagawa's international clearence. time to get modric and baines. lewandowski is staying at borussia dortmund, giroud a £12mil target for arsenal. berbatov of to PSG. apparently we can get modric for £25mil. any news on Ganso or lucas. eriksen isnt going anywhere. all from sky sports.

Do you really think we'd be willing to pay Evertons asking price for Baines? They'd want atleast 20 mil

Swear Aly Cissohko is a better LB than Baines? Would be cheaper and like Kagawa he's already stated his ambition to play for United.

Doubt Ganso, Eriksen or even Lucas will move this year. Fairly sure Ganso still has his heart set on a move to AC Milan anyway?

Ed what do you think the chances are that Utd may look at Clint Dempsey, he a proven goalscorer who can play on the left wing, in midfield and behind the striker. he covers lots of ground and good in the air. and with only one year left on his contract his fee won't be sky high. plus it will be his chance to play champions league football. Do you think Utd would be interested. {Ed004's Note - I think extremely unlikely}

He seems Arsenal bound.

We're apparently checking out the Czech player vaclav pilar, but after only moving to werder bremen this summer, it could very well be another bebe like signing, atleast pilar has actually played in a major international tournament though, instead of being rumoured to have played in the 'homeless world cup' like bebe was.

Havent both been at their clubs one year? thats usually a longshot to transfer them

United enquired for Cabye at the end of the season, and was told there was no chance of being sold. He was one of our targets for the centre mid spots. We havent showed any interest in Witsel for 2 years now, we were looking into buying him before he went to Benfica, but he did a leg breaking tackle on a player, and Fergie wasnt impressed. Then after his first year at Benfica we enquired about him and was quoted 25million, which sure enough put us right off

Roy Keane damaged people and SAF was still impressed with him. I think at 25 million euros (just over 20 million quid), he'd be an excellent buy
