With a month and a half left for January its clear we need central defenders. You have told us about Hummels, and updated on Shawcross and Pique, but apart from them is there anyone else we are looking at who could be possible in January?
Is Howedes available?

He's young though and we already have good young defenders ie blackett mohair. Doubt he is much better. Varane proven and we need proven. Hummels ideal but he won't come! I don't think the best defenders want to come to us at the minute

Thanks for the reply up the page ed. Hasn't kongolo's younger brother already signed for city ed? Would it make a move to city more likely than to us? Although at least they will both be close to each other if Terence came to us.

Theres a story in the express today saying utd will go head to head with chelski for raphael varane.
Do any of the eds kno if there's any truth in this story?
And what is peoples opinion if we were to get him? I for one think he would be a great signing, but would still want a more experienced cb brought in as well.

personally think he should be snapped up at that price or even more- could man utd have an ace up their sleeve with the hernandez loan to permanent deal rumours?
