Macheda's agent has confirmed he'll go on loan in January for the rest of the season...mufc

Believable15 Unbelievable1

I carn't see Macheda making it at Utd but I would like to be proved wrong.... A couple of seasons out on loan is maybe what he needs.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Everton fan here. We are very short up top. Do you guys reckon he could do a job for us because i am of the opinion that he isnt very good

Agree0 Disagree0

...with a view to a permanant move hopefully. Will never be good enough to make it at United

Agree0 Disagree0

Machida and Diouf will both be solid strikers for good teams, but not for Man United. neither have what it takes, based on what we've seen against teams they should be shining against.

Yet another player out though, if SAF doesnt make 1-2 signings in January numbers-wise we are gonna struggle bigtime.

RED_SKY

Agree0 Disagree0

I wish we were selling him, and Diouf, they just aren't good enough!

I think we keep some of the fringe players purposely even though we know they aren't good enough, It creates an interest in the global brand of Manchester united in places where we don't usually have any players, and costs us very little. Macheda/Diouf? Then there was that Chinese guy we had that couldn't even kick a ball. Maybe I'm just being paranoid!? but I don't believe Ferguson thinks all these guys are good enough for United!

rumours in spainish media suggests that SAF have inquired about availability of sami khadira, and he has been invited to put a formal bid, he is considering 18m. david gill is expected to fly to madrid after boxing day to sort this out.

Would be a brill signing if true

well, well, well... Fernando Torres to Old Trafford??.. I wonder would Fergie have the balls and how would that go down in Merseyside I wonder hmmmm?, God it would be gas just to see their reaction alone!.... By the way, anyone think he'd be worth a gamble and off-loading that waster Berbatov?

Believable39 Unbelievable12

The Premier League's top goalscorer last year is a "waster"?

Gar

Agree0 Disagree0

Berbatov has class, which the majority of you should know is permanent. His form however isn't great at the moment and the reason being is that our midfield isn't great. Berbatov is the type of striker where you need good supply, otherwise he'll go missing in games. Would love to see berba scoring as many as he was last season, i miss that guy!

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I think its a gamble worth taking.. for 20 mil.. definitely.. i think he's still a top drawer player.. he needs the games and he'll come good.. would love to see him in a united shirt.. RK

Agree0 Disagree0

Torres is a class player so as Berbatov. I would like to see Torres in Man Utd colors...

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love this to happen,saf would bring him back to his best and could you imagine him playing just of rooney,that would bring the fear factor back for teams playing united,joeyored

Agree0 Disagree0

Everyone goes on about Berb being so great last season, he got 20 right? well he got 11 of them in 3 games, so it was nothing special, i do however think he can offer something to the team given regular games, berb will not pick up form playing once a month, he's not am impact player

Agree0 Disagree0

Fact: In 2011 Torres has scored more goals
for Liverpool than at chelsea. As a Liverpool
supporter I'd love to see him at MUFC.
Another so-called bigger club LOL. He's finished.

I see SAF has once again stated it'll be unlikely that we will add to the squad in January however it seems David Villa's place at Barcelona is not as guaranteed as it once was. SAF made it clear he was a player we tried to sign so I'm wondering, could we put a sneaky bid in for him? What's your thoughts Ed's, Syd, everybody else?

Ports {Ed002's Note - If Manchester United have £30M plus to bid on a 30 year old I am sure Barcelona will listen.}

Believable2 Unbelievable13

30Millions.??

I would buy 1 top player and 1 cheap squad player for that amount.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would not like the idea of him playing for united! He may be good to an extent, but he's a dirty player and i would not enjoy that in our squad. besides he's 30.. We've learnt that you must think twice, maybe even three times when buying an old, in form striker.. *cough* berbatov *cough*

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I cant see anybody buying David Villa know as he has sustained a broken leg at the world club championship.

According to sum papers krasic will join man utd in january on loan. do you think he will join will he be good for us? {Ed002's Note - Juventus will be open to good offers for Krasic at some point but it is unclear if the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City, Malaga and Roma are still interested in a player who has not taken well to sitting on the bench. The player has declared his interest in Manchester United and it is not out of the question that they may be interested in Krasic. Juventus may value the player out of the winter window though. There is at least one person at Chelsea who very much likes the player and may wish to revisit earlier interest.}

As a young prospect who would you prefer?

Vadillo
Ocampos
Iturbe {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any interest from Manchester United in Ocampos, but perhaps Uruguayan Santiago Garcia who recently moved from Nacionale to Brazilian side Paranaense should be added to your list.}

So the rumours today are Chelsea will sell Torres for ~20million, any chance Man Utd would buy him, I think SAF would get the best out of him. Paired with Rooney..imagine the possibilities! {Ed002's Note - There is no "for sale" sign, but if he is not performing well and cannot get in to the team and wants to move on something may be facilitated at some point. Certainly there is no £20M figure or anything like that. With Anelka effectively already gone and Drogba and Kalou away in January/February it seems unlikely that unless another striker comes in that Torres will remain for a while. Although, Chelsea are looking actively at new strikers at the moment.}

Believable9 Unbelievable3

Ed002 you're a Chelsea fan are you not? Would you say that Lukaku is being under utilized? I know he is only 18 years old and this is probably a question for the Chelsea page but I'll ask here anyway.

TK-Red {Ed002's Note - Under utilized no, he is playing and doing well in the reserves but he really isn't ready for the top level yet. The sort of brutish powerful way he approaches the game needs to have a little finesse added before he will be playing regularly. I think we will see some more of him off the bench in the second half of teh season if he does not go out on loan - which has yet to be decided.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Which do you think would be more beneficial? Staying with the squad or going out on loan? I ask because you say his style requires a little finesse but I would imagine that a) if he were to go on loan it would be to an English club and b) Im not sure any of the potential clubs, with all due respect to them, will encourage such finesse. Stoke spring to mind as such an example.

TK-Red {Ed002's Note - Beneficial, probably a loan. I am told there have been enquiries from Villareal, Stoke and Everton so far. But Chelsea have yet to make any decisions about loans as far as I am aware.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Much as i would love to see SAF get Torres to OldTrafford the fact is Torres just does not like United and I don't think he would do it out of respect for Liverpool. But You never know, SAF can be very persuasive........

Hi all,

There's a lot of talk about central midfielders I personally think that the player that fits your style, work ethic, ability and position...is Schweinsteiger. I dont know if united are interested or if Bayern are willing to sell but he would be perfect for you in my opinion.

Rewflo

Believable16 Unbelievable6

He's injured as well...

Agree0 Disagree0

I too think he's better than anyone else, in terms of what we're looking for! But i've never really put much thought into it because it's highly unlikely. He is to bayern, what paul scholes is like to man utd, grew up in munich progressing through their youth academy etc.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

If money was no object Schweinsteiger would be my first choice but Ozwald has hit the nail on the head, I don't think he would ever leave Bayern.... HERBIE

Agree0 Disagree0

Iv championed this guy for ages. i dont think hes as loyal as you think. he basiclly done a rooney last season to get himself a new contract and a bumper pay rise. he has always ststed that he like the physicillity of the epl............

Hi, now with darren out, utd have been linked with alot of targets in January, can any of the eds expand on it? So far theres Biglia, Rodwell, Sneijder and Gaitan are these just money spinners or any truth in the making here? {Ed001's Note - Rodwell has always been a favourite of Fergie's, he has had him scouted, watched him play and Rodwell has eaten meals with him a number of times. There is a very definite long term interest there. Sneijder was in talks over the summer, but his demands were ludicrous and so interest was dropped. The other two have both been scouted extensively. My belief is that all four are of interest, if the price is right.}

Just a quick question for any of the Eds or whoever, was just wondering if anyone knew of the situation regarding Kaka? Because I keep seeing rumours linking him with loan moves to us, to Tottenham, to Chelsea, etc? Any idea if this is plausible or of his availability in general? Sorry if you've answered this question before, did a search and couldn't find anything.

APC {Ed001's Note - he is available, not sure of the price, but I don't think there is any chance of him moving to England. His wages are too high, it would be a huge gamble.}

Believable2 Unbelievable11

As much as it would be a big gamble, i think Kaka would be a great signing for utd. He did look good against Barca when he came on and if he continued to play like that it would be well worth the gamble!

Agree0 Disagree0

Real are looking for 30m which is the reason why Milan didnt resign him. His wages are high but I dont see that as a sticking point as he donates a huge portion of it to a couple churches and a charity so he is perhaps less concerned with money.

Rewflo

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Ed. Was thinking the same thing regarding wages. It's a shame though, he is one of my favourite players and he seems to have the right attitude and lifestyle to be a United great. In his prime he was almost unplayable. Sad to see someone like that warming the bench at Madrid.
