{Editor's Note: I also expect a striker and tried to rationalise it the other day. I got shot down of course.}
@Ed, I did not mean to, I too expect a striker but not necessarily one with CL experience that was all. We tend to play one upfront in the CL so with Hernandez & Berbatov sat on the bench, I did not think we would sign a striker who had to have CL experience, but I knew SAF was looking at strikers.
Have you any ideas who we could be looking at? Apart from Iturbe & Morata of course. The fact that we are looking at young strikers does appear to be the end of Macheda &/ or Owen. Have you heard any whispers Ed?
Sydney! {ed's note - I was told both were expected to be replaced, Macheda blew his chance this year. I don't have any particular rumours about who is being looked at, so many are being scouted I can't narrow it down yet.}

@Hey Ed, on Sky Sports News today some bloke yapping about Torres and Drogba and who will play etc said that he thinks Drogba is certain to leave at the end of the season which is very likely IMO too, but he said that Drogba will leave for £25m-£30m, now is it me or is that a slightly excessive valuation for a 33 year old striker, who has been very average this season and one or two seasons in the past?
Ed has the £35m Carroll fee messed everything up?
Sydney! {ed's note - I can't believe Chelsea will get anything like that much for Drogba, I think the guy was being extremely optimistic.}
@Exactly what I thought, Chelsea only got £6.6m for a 32 year old Carvalho, who I would say still has five good years left in him as he is thin framed and extremely fit, Drogba is a huge bloke and would struggle on IMO. He is still a good striker but the reason Torres was £50m was because he had all three attributes, he had age on his side, he can shift shirts and he is top quality.
Drogba is top quality and that is it. A 33 year old Drogba will fetch £15m tops. Real Madrid would never pay more than that, neither would Marsielle, neither would City. Did you see it Ed? What was matey on about? I doubt even Chelsea expect more than that.
Sydney!
{Editor's Note: I did not see it, but Chelsea would likely be happy with about half that amount if the player chooses to leave. However, Chelsea may reduce the fee and take future options on players available if one expected club makes another move for Drogba. Anelka will likely be moving on in the summer.}

The mysteric signing is no one else than the argentina wonderkid ITURBE
@This is true, from what I'm told he didn't want to join us yet as he and his agent/ advisors think he should get more experience before joining such a big club. Was told we will definately try and sign him again in the next 6-18 months. Was also told that Hargreaves maybe retiring at some point during the season although this came from someone else so no 100% sure on that one. Also Mario Gotze could be a possibility in the summer but again from someone I'm not 100% sure on.
United Till I Die 1987
@It's not Iturbe mate, he could have never joined in January as he is only 17, also a work permit would not have agreed even if he was 18. So it could not have been him mate as he could not have signed in January anyway. Too young, this is why he cannot move to Porto until he turns 18.

He is miles ahead of zil when he was the same age.
Even if it sounds unbelieveable but G tze is on another level in terms of talent to zil. He is 18 years old and is one of the best players in the Bundesliga this season.
There is really no young midfielder i would rate above him at the moment.
Still think we won't have a chance to get him. He is a smart young lad and knows that Dortmund is the best place for him in the next few years.
@Dortmund may have a crowd to equal ours but Manchester United are a massive club and he has been at Dortmund since he was nine, he could be getting a tad bored now? I expect if Dortmund have named their price then they would sell him, perhaps whether he likes it or not? United could bring AOC & Goetze in, both would be 18, Keane, Morrison & Pogba will also be 18. Could this be the next batch to come through? Add Cleverley & Welbeck to them and we would have a young talented squad.
Lets be honest here, Carrick, Gibson, Scholes, Giggs & Hargreaves will all be gone in the next couple of years.

@Dortmund have put a 20m price-tag on Mario Goetze's head, at just £16.7m he could be the answer to our Scholes problem, he can play left wing, right wing and in the old Scholesy position. This kid is rated better than Ozil. Come on SAF make your move now.

"@That's right, they also had the easiest run-in last season too and the didn't even manage eight points. Arsenal will fluff it, they always do, Spurs will take points off of them for starters. We will take points off them too. Lets not forget their heads going down after the Barca defeats and the inevitable injuries they will get.
Sydney!"
I think, beat ArseNIL and the title is ours. Its as simple as that imo. We beat them its 7 points between us and them and that is too much a gap for their fragile defense to help them close.
