Journos are reporting Man City have offered Ravel Morrison 50k a week and he will join them in the summer! What a slap in the face that would be !

Ya ya BS

how about keizuke Honda , I would love to see him at united he's a top midfielder definitely under rated ...

Latest tweet from Ravel Morrison saying he's "not asked anything of united yet" in reply to suggestion that he demanded 50k/week from us.

Believable9 Unbelievable0

Interesting, isn't it?
this can only mean one thing (unless one of Ravel and SAF are lying).
Ravel's (new?) agent is working behind his back on a new lucrative (ludicrous?) contract, either at United or somewhere else, to make some cash.

Now that would be something else!
New low, even in this time where we have seen a lot of BS from agent.

Jonny8

Agree6 Disagree1

That's very good to hear! I doubt Morrison or SAF are lying, the agent seems dodgy here.

Percy

Agree5 Disagree1

SAF loves a little fib now and again, but I suspect Morrison's agent is behind alot of the stories currently doing the rounds. Although from what I've been told he's on his way out regardless. I don't really know what to make of the whole situation, the kid litterly has the world at his feet, and he chooses to f*** it up everytime. One of the best youngster's I've ever seen touch, shooting and passing ability but a stinking attitude.

United Till I Die 1987

Agree7 Disagree0

I think United should pay Ravel, Pogba & Welbeck £40k a week and be done with it. Offload the deadwood and keep these lads happy.

Sydney!

Agree14 Disagree5

I think Welbeck should get 40k a week because when he plays he is clearly a key player for us. In the case of Pogba and Morrison why should they be any different to any other youth player? Others who breakthrough are offered around 10-15k a week so why should they be different? I know they are both very talented but if we are talking about the attitude of the 2 players how is rewarding them with more money than others going to improve that attitude?

Rjmanutd

Agree7 Disagree0

'Rjmanutd'

Because we will lose them for pittance otherwise. If we give them a £30k/£40k a week contract and they sign on the dotted line, in three years we can offer them a new contract and if they accept then ideal, if they don't we can sell them for a fortune.

Sydney!

Agree5 Disagree2

Syd

I understand where you are coming from but I just can't see why they deserve to be treated differently from other potentially good players in the youth ranks both past and future. We have a wage structure which we weren't willing to break to sign someone like Sneijder in the summer despite the fact we needed someone like him to play in the first team now and provide some class in our midfield. So why should we give 2 players who are apparantly asking for double what the other youth products get when (I know they haven't had a chance but) aren't really in the 1st team picture? I also don't think it'll help their attitude if we just go ok have your 30-40k when they haven't done anything to earn it.

Rjmanutd

Agree4 Disagree0

They are being offered £50k a week to sign for City, you cannot blame them for asking the club for more than £15k a week.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree2

That's what City do though and Chelsea before them. I know they are very good but at the moment they aren't worth what Welbeck is so IMO don't deserve the same salary before proving that they can make the step up.

Rjmanutd

Agree0 Disagree0

Is it just me sir Alex won't pay pogba or Morrison what they think they are worth fair enough he sees them in training he knows but going back to the 1st team since cleverley got injured the1st time around utd seem to have lost there rythm with pace and passing especially the pace of the final ball or the right touch of pace to the forward to score we need a class passer of the ball not a makedo tiLL we get cleverly back and we need him now and that player is goetze if he costs 40 million pay it better than 4 rodwells and he's only 18 and he would be good with cleverly and Carrick alongside him

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney! is correct we should give them a better contract as otherwise we lose them for 500k-£1 million tops which is silly, considering how good they are and could be in the coming seasons and not to mention how much they could be worth is 3-4 years. Still from what I was told Morrison's as good as gone, really hope the person(s) who told me this are wrong/lying to me as the lad will be a monster in a few years, if he keeps his head down and doesn't act like a tit.

Rodwell was at Old Trafford today.

DB-Red

Believable8 Unbelievable21

Really?
I just read we are linked with a 22 million bid.
Is he really worth 22 million (plus his contract) more then Pogba?
Can't see Pogba staying if we sign Rodwell, wouldn't even blame him!
I don't get it why he wasn't given a taste today ahead of Park e.g.
Hope he was supposed to come on at the end and that was scuppered by Welbecks injury, and I hope SAF made it clear to him.
Jonny8

Agree9 Disagree1

As much as i would of liked to see pogba come on ,you dont bring a young kid on when its late in the game and still 1-0
johndenton

Agree6 Disagree2

Pls read again.
I said: i hope he was supposed to come on later on, but this was impossible after Welbeck got injured and had to be replaced, thereby taking the last possibility to bring him on.
And I hope SAF made this clear to him, so he knows why he had to sit on the bench once more.

I understand the need to preserve Nani for the upcoming weeks and Scholes not being ready for 90 mins (yet/anymore)

Jonny8

Agree4 Disagree0

I still think Rodwell will end up here , perhaps more so now Gibson has gone in the opposite direction. Just a matter of when.

Busby 68

Agree6 Disagree0

To johndenton

For the record it was 2-0 with 15 mins to go and when the final substitution was made so Pogba could of been an option!

Agree0 Disagree1

To the above poster, Welbeck was injured and Hernandez needs games that's why he got the nod ahead of Pogba!

Ports

Agree1 Disagree0

Every window for the last 3 and a half years I've been told he's going to sign for us, I'm almost thinking it's never gonna happen now. He's a good player but has gone off the pace in the 18 months. He starts a season well for 5-6 games then becomes average. Fergie is a massive fan though and has been for years. I always remember that quality goal be scored against us, from memory they beat us 3-0 3-1?

Well Ed I know this maybe a question you have heard over n over but, with there being more reports on sneijder coming and the fact he hasn't ruled out a move to us.have you heard any progress on sneijder?

Super red {Ed007's Note - There is nothing to say on it.}

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Thanks!

Super red

Agree0 Disagree0

Super red,
Sneijder will not be joining United not now, not ever. I don't understand why fans still want him after he basically said he wanted ridiculous things in negotiations. Not to mention the fact that he's always injured lately.

United Till I Die 1987

Agree5 Disagree1

How come people want Morrison to stay when he's requesting the same ridiculous demands then??
Surely you'd make an exception for one of the worlds best players and not some snotty nosed kid who thinks he's too good and forgot where he's come from.

Can't believe Barcelona... They stole Alexis Sanchez from right underneath our noses in the summer and now it looks like they're going to steal Jordi Alba from us aswell!

Believable10 Unbelievable3

He is not ours for them to steal. Izaguirre is looking very good seems he has just returned from a serious injury. I would bring him in for £7m/£8m. 25 years old, fast and can both defend and attack.

Sydney! {Ed007's Note - He had a good solid performance again today Syd.}

Agree7 Disagree0

When it comes to choosing between Barcelona and Manchester United there is no real contest! Sanchez was never seriously linked to United - he was a bit to City but I'd say United still have the edge over City in attraction to players. As for Jordi Alba - he's Spanish so he would go nowhere but Barcelona or Madrid.

Agree7 Disagree3

Well he is spanish and played 6/7 years in their youth academy so wouldn't be surprised if he goes back.

Agree4 Disagree1

Barca are signing Alba??

Well they are welcome to him.

Agree3 Disagree3

He looks to offensive and a bit weak for the EPL

RedDevil19

Agree4 Disagree2

Izzaguirre is a very good player would be worth it for under 10 million. I'm still abit annoyed we didn't go for Enrique. He's excellent.

United Till I Die 1987

Agree2 Disagree1

Enrique is a good defender, but very average at going forward. Izaguirre is a better all-round player, just lacks the EPL experience, but then so did Vidic, Heinze & Evra and they all turned out okay.

Hi eds and all. I read that hazard would welcome a move to man utd or chelsea, so do you think man utd will step up and make an offer? {Ed002's Note - I have explained my view on this already. You did read the other posts?}

Believable4 Unbelievable0

Yeah, I just read them. Thanks

Agree2 Disagree0

I reckon Hazard will move to either PSG or maybe Barcelona or Real. Although I wouldn't rule out United or City just yet. I can't see him moving to Chelsea and I still have a sneaky feeling he may favour a move to Arsenal. I know they are not a major European force at the moment Wenger is the 'Messiah' for most French-speaking players and you can't ignore the personal ties with Vermaelen and Gervinho. All I can say is wait and see!

Agree1 Disagree4

You also cant ignore the personal ties to chelsea then aswell with lukaku coutois and possibly de bryune...

Agree3 Disagree2

Whether we make an offer or not is irrelevant. Real will just top any bid from any club as they will lose Neymar to Barcelona. He will end up there.

Agree3 Disagree2

Hazard's agent has said man utd interests him, so if he is moving to england man utd will be his destination IF we step up and make an offer.

ed, heard we are interested in honda, and willing to offer berbatov in the deal, you heard anything about this? {Ed007's Note - No.}

Believable2 Unbelievable3

There hasn't been much talk about Honda this window - unlike the last one where he was heavily linked with nearly all the big clubs in Europe! This suggests to me that he either is in talks with a club or he wants to stay at Moscow.

Ed you said before there is interest in shaqiri and if someone else bid you would expect united to bid well galatasary have bid for him so any news on a united bid?? {Ed002's Note - I don't know which Editor said that so I cannot answer that question. The position from my perspective remains that if Shaqiri were to be available now then there would be plenty of interest including at least Atletico Madrid, Juventus, Hamburg, Leverkusen, both Manchester clubs and Liverpool. I am also sure if he were to become available then Arsenal would also be interested, but it is tough to see him leaving a team he has been with since he was a young child during their Champions League run. Perhaps the summer is a better option. A recent low bid from Galatasary was not accepted because he is not available right now.}

Believable2 Unbelievable0

14 Jan 2012 13:29:47
Interestingly Hazard's agent has said specifically that 'Edin would find Manchester United a very big opportunity'. Could this player be the player SAF wants? I don't know but its possible and we shouldn't rule it out. Shaqiri seems more likely for me, however Hazard is marginally more exciting. Both players would bring something that we haven't got, exciting skills (i.e. Ronaldo esq), that way we won't have to rely on Nani to take on a man and beat him.

RedDevil19

Believable6 Unbelievable3

Basel and Galatasary have agreed a 10m fee for Shaqiri, Its up to the player now to agree personal terms and the Eds can back me up that Hazard prefers Barca or Madrid as his next club {Ed002's Note - There is no agreement between Basel and anyone over the transfer of Shaqiri. As for Hazard, unless an extraordinary bid matching the clubs valuation is made in January, Eden Hazard will not be available to the summer. Whilst Real Madrid or Barcelona remain his preferred destination PSG, Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Inter Milan are all interested to one degree or another. I said over the summer that I would not be surprised to see Manchester United through their hat in to the ring with Hazard as well. I don't see Hazard moving to Liverpool, Juventus, AC Milan or Arsenal for that matter. Chelsea have maintained a long-term interest but one particularly influential party at the club sees the player as having an attitude problem. However, Chelsea have discussed the player with Lille and a move by Chelsea is very much a possibility right now. Additionally they may offer up a younger player to move in the other direction come the summer (when he will be available).}

After selling Maxwell to PSG, Barca have agreed a deal with Valencia for Jordi Alba, They just keep on improving while we are linked with players like Rodwell etc, Its just not good enough, We are Manchester United, Can anyone please tell me do we actually have money to spend?

Believable9 Unbelievable2

The simple answer is NO we do not have any money to spend. There was a story in either The Guardian or The Times last that said our "net spend" over the last 3 years has been lower than the likes of Hull City and Blackpool! You only have to look the state of our midfield to see we have no money. The Glazers have been here for 7 years now and have still to speak to either the fans or the press! SEVEN YEARS!! In charge of the biggest club in the land and they have not spoken to anyone about what they are doing and what plans they have. I feel that the club is dying in front of our eyes. Money is being taken away and the team is being left behind. It is only because of the genius of Sir Alex that we are league champions and that we are pushing citeh all the way with this mediocre bunch of players. Lets make no mistake here, without SAF we would be mid table to pushing top 6 at best with this squad. Just look at our squad and tell me who would get into Citeh's squad?? Dark Dark Days ahead me thinks

Just heard Everton are willing to sell one of Barkley or Rodwell as they are in real trouble financially. Net debt is rising very fast and the club have no choice but to let one of these two players go to keep them ticking over for another year. Something tells me United are well aware of Everton's misfortunes and are ready to pounce for Barkley. The sad thing for Everton fans is that none of the fee for Rodwell or Barkley will go on new signings. I like Everton as a club, probably because I dislike Liverpool FC so much, but they are in real trouble unless they can find investors or a buyer. Morrison out, Barkley in, could it be?

Sydney!

Believable2 Unbelievable6

If morrison leaves, i'd be surprised if we didn't go for Barkley to be honest.. How old is he? 18?

Ozwald

Agree3 Disagree0

I read an article in FourFourTwo a couple of months back about little midfield maestros and they covered Silva, Mata and Modric but they had a little bit about 3 youngsters, 1 being young Cole at United and 1 being Barkley - Martin Keown said of Barkley ''one of the best players this country sees''!
I know Keown is a muppet but i'm sure he recognises talent!
I know it's another kid but I'd push for Barkley!

Ports

Agree2 Disagree0

I can't see it being Barkley, the reason he has a big price tag is that he made is EPL debut aged 17. And that was largely down to injury problems. Rodwell is more likely, he has been looked at many a time and SAF has his eye on him. Whether it will be in January or summer i'm not sure, but i definatly expect to see him before long. Id pay the money for him and then give them one of Diouf/Pogba on loan.

just a quick post do any of you think if there is a deal to be done with newcastle for morrison could you see cabaye as our central midfielder for now maybe in an exchange or maybe demba ba as we need a goalscorer

Believable1 Unbelievable6

No because SAF knows full well cabaye is NOT Utd quality. He has said numerous times about not buying players that would just make up the numbers or wouldnt get games when players are fully fit. Cabaye fits this imo and wouldnt get ahead of Clevers, Scholes or Carrick.

Agree3 Disagree7

Haha not utd quality we have alot of players who are not united quality your telling me you wouldnt mind him in the center of the park with clevers or anderson instead od giggs or carrick hes got some stamina can tackle good free kicks passing ability whats wrong with him for the price and wage.....

Agree3 Disagree5

Also how would he not get ahead of carrick or scholes.... are you expecting schokes to be back to his best seriously? he was so poor against city and yeah maybe he will have a good pass but no legs and cant play every game and probably wont be able to play 90 minutes tbh unfortunatley i just think cabaye would be a good player to have around when anderson or clevs are injured like a gibson role but hes top class compared to gibson lol

Agree3 Disagree2

Exactly, so why bring in more players that are not United quality? The idea is to bring in a top quality midfielder, not buy another passenger. There are too many United fans wanting a quick fix with any old player filling the gap. We are not City or Chelsea, when we sign players we have to make them count.

Sydney!

why is no-one posting that we need a right back? rafael gets sent off too much, valencia is a winger and smalling is a centre back! it would be nice to see saf bringing in someone like kyle walker from tottenham or one of ac milan's many wing backs.

Believable6 Unbelievable0

I personally would like the young dutch right back Gregory Van Der Weil he is very similar to Walker only he can defend as well. Problably big big money saying that. {Ed002's Note - He will be moving to Valencia in all probability. Manchester United have looked at Azpilicueta but he is more likely to be heading to Chelsea.}

Agree2 Disagree2

How can you say rafael gets sent off to much. He's been sent off twice in his utd career, and if we need a new RB because he gets sent off too much then we need a new CB as vidic gets sent off too much
