Question for anyone who watchs academy games. What do you think of Tom Thorpe? I think he's one to watch and potentially better than Wootton. But i can see repeat of the situation we had a few years back when we had Evans, Shawcross and Pique. Except this time with Keane, Wootton and Thorpe. Wootton is the one i'd sell.

Believable11 Unbelievable3

I agree i don't rate Wooton at all think Keane is far better player

Agree0 Disagree0

1) Keane
2) Thorpe
3) Iaonnou

Keep an eye on these three.

Wootton will be sold when we buy a CB next.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Oh and Blackett too.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

What Syd said.... I do like Thorpe but I'm not sure if he will make it. Ioannou has the most potential out of those 3 IMO. Apparrently he is supposed to grow to over 6'5!

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Original poster, please don't remind us about the loss of Pique, the guy is arguably the best centre half in the game, right up there at least

Agree0 Disagree1

Pique has a much easier job at Barca, makes him look better than he is

Agree0 Disagree0

Thorpe and Wootton won't make it. Keane developed so much in the last few years so he is quite a bit in front of both. He even impresses at Championship level already. Leicester City fans rave about him.

Ioannou is also someone to look out for but he didn't play that much for the U18 this season because of injuries. In his last few games he looked very sloppy but our defence in the U18 has been quite poor this season overall.

Agree0 Disagree0

Pique is not the best centre half in the game. He isn't even the best centre half at Barcelona. F**cking Mascherano plays at centre half instead of him.

Good evening..lads !

TxR News :

Crystal palace agreed 14.8 Million Pounds from Man utd and Arsenal !

Now its upto player Where he wants to Join ?.. With Personal Terms satisfying him !!

"finger crossed" : Red devil

Yash (IndiA)

Believable4 Unbelievable29

I hope it is not true. For 15 million Arsenal can have him I would rather pay 3 mil more and get ISCo. Not even comparable in terms of talent.

Shahram

BTW I wanted us to get him but always thought about 6 to 8 mill max.

Agree0 Disagree2

No way arsenal payed that much

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't go higher than an initial £10m.

I do not believe Arsenal would go higher than £10m for him.

I do not think Isco is available for that cheap Shahram or someone would have bought him by now.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree1

If he needs to decide between Arsenal and us, don't think we want him, total commitment or forget it and move on.

Agree0 Disagree1

Arsenal love paying over the odds for young talent, they'll train them up then sell them on to a club that'll win things

DodgyBanter

Agree0 Disagree0

If a championship player is going for that that's a joke

There's a lot of great young players in that league mite be a lot of money but I remember a certain gareth bale coming from the championship for what we thought was a lot of money and what a player he turned out to be I'm not sayin zaha will be as good or anywhere near that but he has potential an that's what you are payin for that now!

Agree0 Disagree0

Come on, for years it has been the way, you pay a premium for top young English talent. £15m for a very promising talented young English player represents value to me. Whether he fullfills that potential or not it is a gamble worth taking, as a previous poster says, look at Gareth Bale, closer to home Phil Jones, he hasnt quite delivered consistantly yet but would you not say that is money well spent and gambled?
Invisible STuey

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale cost 5m rising to about 10 if he did well, a bargain I'd say

Dustbin

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not convinced he will cost £15m. Not initially anyway. Perhaps with add-on clauses it could reach that amount. £12m is a fair price IMO.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully not us...the player is unproven and overhyped

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Zaha is a gamble but i think, from what i have seen of him for Palace he looks an awesome young talent that would come on leaps and bounds at Old Trafford

Portuguese newspaper Redord are reporting that United scouts were sent to watch yesterday's Benfica vs Porto game to observe Garay and Gaitan.

JC

Believable13 Unbelievable6

They could be looking at Alex Sandro or even Joao Moutinho not James Rodriguez as he is injured atm.
But remember just cause scouts were there doesn't mean United are going to sign anyone from Benfica or Porto. They are just doing there job and scouting all the best players in Portugal.
Andy H

Agree0 Disagree0

Gaitan is a great left sided midfielder and could be giggs replacement. Garay I think could be brought in to replace rio or vidic when they decide on there future.

Inter Milan president Massimo Moratti has urged Wesley Sneijder to make a decision on where his future lies by the end of the day.

The Dutch midfielder has been locked in talks with Galatasaray over a potential move to Istanbul.

"It would be professional if he would make his decision by the end of the day, " Moratti told Gazzetta dello Sport (in Italian).

Believable16 Unbelievable2

I personally don't believe the Galatasary bid, I think that may have been engineered to push other clubs into a bidding war for him.

So Ronaldo has said that he will honour his contract. To me, this has cleared nothing up about his future. He will not be allowed to honour his contract if he doesn't sign a new one as Madrid will want a return on him. As for Sneijder, he is meant to be deciding on Galatassary move today, personally I think that he will reject the move - further adding to speculation around him. Still don't think that he will be coming here unless he accepts a lower wage.

Believable23 Unbelievable2

All Ronaldo is doing is showing RM he is willing to stick it out and that he is playing hardball. I hope he isn't doing all of this to get himself a massive new deal at RM.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Sneijder is using the gala offer to bait bigger clubs im sure. such a shame someone with some good talent like himself ruins it all with greed

ms85 {Ed002's Note - His agent spoke with two other clubs (not English) on Thursday to try and get another offer on the table. If he has subsequently spoken with a club in England Spurs seems the most likely but any deal for salary would need to be creative.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I personally don't think Spurs would be able to get anywhere near Sneijders wage demands even if he lowers them.
I wish he would just make his mind up because im sick of hearing about him now.
However i still think he's worth a punt for 8 million pounds.

Simmo

Agree1 Disagree0

Hi Eds would we enter the frame if he dropped his wage demands and also do you think he would come to us? Cheers Damian M {Ed002's Note - A lot of whatifs.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I reckon Ronaldo is holding out to push for an eventual move back to United! The longer he does it the lower his transfer fee will become and that's the only way we could afford to buy him back

Not united related but it cn bring a grim to some faces.
Jose m was in stands ystrday..many predicting on watching trip bcz of cl nxt round..but close sourse to him suggesting that he was watching suares as he feels his toothless attck is the reason for his la liga failure.
Rodio17

Believable4 Unbelievable15

After yesterday's performance Suarez will be staying right where he is. There will be a few striker's ahead of Suarez that RM will want. Cavani, Aguero & Falcao to name three.

Sydney!

Agree7 Disagree0

I maybe giving the op credit where it isn't due here but I think he was having a bit of a joke, Jose looking at Suarez as he thinks his current side is "toothless"

Karllap

Agree1 Disagree0

Hehe.. I have to admit, i didn't catch it, in the original post. Thanks for the clearup, Karllap, and thanks for the post Rodio (if it was ment as a joke)!

Steffen

Agree0 Disagree0

He has come to attend the 2 days LMA seminar hosted by Alex Ferguson.

Agree1 Disagree0

Common syd i was joking...
As his tooth is always offside... So may be it should provide some teeth to toothless attack.

Rodio17

Suarez is world class no team would turn him down end of !
