I have three signings on good authority that look likely. First being Vidal but won't join till the summer! Second Matuidi again united may go for summer as his contract will be out and could get him on a free from PSG but could possibly sign this month and third pogba as moyes is wanting to bring him back and pogba in a recent interview said he does not rule of playing for united again it was SAF he had an issue with!

Believable7 Unbelievable41

What authority?

Central midfiekders like buses it would seem. Can't see us signing 3 myself. Fletch is back, selling Fellaini would be admitting a mistake, Carrick not likely to leave, can we really accommodate 6 in the squad for 2 places along with the other versatile players that can play part of a 3?

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry my friend what u have just said there is basically Carrick and fletch would be more then capable to carry on and win us things over the three above players I have just stated. Please use your mind before commenting. We can accommodate them yes! Ando is on way out. There is no guarantee fletcher will stay fit and fellaini is out injured for god knows how much longer. Carrick well. he would be perfect for a back up now days. Pogba, Vidal, fellaini and matuidi being rotated in the centre of the park is more than likely!

Agree0 Disagree1

Fair reply and I agree, but like a politician you have skipped the main
question.

What authority?

Agree0 Disagree0

You should try taking your own advice.

Carrick is still top quality, in some ways he's actually peaking now. Fletch is a bit of an unknown atm, but if he can get even close to where he was before his illness took hold, he is good enough to give those 3 a fight for a first team place.

We will not sign 3 cm at once. 1 or maybe 2 at first, maybe another 1 after a year or so.

Agree0 Disagree0

No. What I'm saying is regardless of ability (which I didn't comment on) I very much doubt we'll see 3 centre midfielders sign in a very short space of time, especially so soon after spending £27m on another. I'm not going to respond to your childish insults and will fully accept your apology when we don't sign all of the 3 listed above.

Agree0 Disagree0

Plus us much as some on here want him to, I doubt Tom C will be sold. Hopefully he'll become a squad player.

I'd guess we'll sign 1 for the first 11 in this window or the next, and maybe 1 more tops.

Look what happened to Spurs after signing lots of players in one go.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Jan 2014 12:18:03
what happened to spurs? they are 3 points ahead of you in table last I checked. person

Agree0 Disagree0

RedKez99 you are speaking 100% Bol**cks stop playing fifa and re join the real world

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah that's all great.

But what authority?

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs are still behind where they want to be and a fair few of their signings are looking like being shown the door less than a year after joining - on loan or at a loss.

Where United are is irrelevant to how Spurs season is going compared to the expectations they set themselves.

I would encourage anyone who thinks we'll sign 3 central midfielders to think about the experience we'll be losing in other positions, who will be our experienced heads in the dressing room, how many ganes we're likely to play next season, who will fill the squad pkayer roles, predict how many appearances the 'stayers' will make and then see how appearances we are short - somewhere between 30-80 by my calculations. Can see us signing one starter now or in the summer and maybe another next Jan depending on external factors.

Thanks OP for trying to pull me up as being illogical or stupid without quoting me. I still don't feel the need to retaliate but thanks to those that did so on my behalf ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry thorne but fletch is now our best cm after 1 full 90min display. that's how desperate(no disrespect to fletch) that we are. We need Vidal, Pogba, Koke or Herrara so badly its not one bit funny. I like Carrick a lot but him alone with Fletch won't do it. We need that someone we just dnt have. I fear chelsea at hme big time

Agree0 Disagree0

I love Fletcher, but one performance doesn't prove anything. Even Nani manages at least 1 good match per season!

Seriously though, I'm not debating the need for new blood at cm, but 3 at once is plain stupid, .

So now Moyes is at the PSG game, he really does look like he's trying to do something this window but it is all if buts and maybes imo.

Believable21 Unbelievable3

Ibrahimovic? Haha.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed004's Note - Matuidi... All I will say ;)}

There's a few English teams watching him tonight. He came off the bench with ten minutes left at 1-1 and turned the game (getting on the score-sheet in the process to make it 3-1).

He's been one of their best players this year and I'm surprised they have allowed him to run his contract down. A poor man's Pogba but a huge step up from what we currently have.

If we agree a deal with the player I'd like to see us pay a few million to PSG and take him now rather than o a free in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed004 - Is Matuidi of any significant interest to us or are you just teasing ;)

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed004's Note - Can't say}

Ed004 - interesting, any idea as to if this is potentially a jan move or looking to the summer? Cheers

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope so ed, very good player.

Maybe even Digne?

Do you for sure who it is he's there for?

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheap. Would make sense especially if we manage to lighten the wage bill elsewhere. Like it how Ed is being coy, he's either laughing at people getting excited or it's genuine info. Either way 1-0 to Ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope Ed004 is extracting the urine. I don't watch French football and I know stats are not everything but Matuidi PSG 84 games 8 goals 1 assist. FFS 1 assist? goalkeepers have better stats than this. Still he is free this summer so "the right price" man I hate that phrase.

Agree0 Disagree0

Grind, I think you have given an excellent example of the dangers of basing your opinions on stats alone.

Agree0 Disagree0

Moyes was at PSG to apparently view a range of players and also discuss the availability of others in the squad. I have heard of interest in Lucas Moura (which was true in the past as well) but not sure if this info is very reliable for a deal at this point or in the future.

Eds. I've been reading loads of rumours online, in the papers and hearing rumours on radio that Moyes has 100m to spend. Everyone knows Jan buys are tough. But everyone knows we need at minimum 2 players especially midfield ones. So with that said do you think we will actually buy anyone worth talking about who will really add and improve the squad in this window? i'm thinking the answer is No.

Believable7 Unbelievable6

{Ed004's Note - No}

Just heard from a very reliable source that we are in for Shneydjer

Believable5 Unbelievable28

Not Weasley Snidjer? Would rather have Martin Roos.

Agree0 Disagree0

Waslay schjneeiderly

Agree0 Disagree0

My mate was working at the radisson last week and saw sneijder there . He confirmed it with the reception.

Agree0 Disagree1

Would that be young Wellesley Shhhnyedurr?

Great player on his day. We are lacking some of those.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not sure what's worse, being linked with him every transfer window or you boys wheeling out the same old jokes every transfer window ;)

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope this is true, shnider will improve us massively, if we could get him and arthur visual we will be sorted for a while.

On ssn they are suggesting that both of the the silva twins will be leaving this summer with Rafael having several clubs chasing him.

United replacement is reported to be Seamus Coleman of Everton

Believable11 Unbelievable48

Like rafeal but he is a little rash at times, but as an irish man I would love for us to sign coleman! He is a quality defender and an animal going forward! I have always (until very recently) had some decent irish men to shout for at utd and I will be ecstatic if this was to happen!

Agree2 Disagree2

Great move if true seamus coleman is a great player

Agree2 Disagree2

His twin brother, Rafael has been a regular member of the squad and has made nine league appearances, but recent reports have claimed that Moyes is not totally impressed with him and is considering a possible move for Seamus Coleman.

The Brazilians’ representative Cassiano Pereira, expects both the players to stay till the end of the season, but claims, according to Calciomercato, that a move in the summer is very likely. He said, as quoted by Calciomercato.it:

“I can say that will remain in Manchester until the end of the season, but in summer it is very likely that they can go.

that is now on multiple sites.

I hope to god dm is not thinking of replacing raf with coleman

Agree2 Disagree1

If we replace Rafael, one of our best players when on form, with Coleman I will be outraged. I don't see Rafael going anywhere, he has a long term contract and is important for us. Fabio on the other hand will be going.

Agree3 Disagree0

With Fresh on this one, Rafa has only been improving with each season. The passion he has when he plays is unmatched. Great on the ball, any decent player finds it hard to get past him, even Ronaldo found it tricky last season. Coleman is a decent RB but Rafa is better and will only improve.

Agree3 Disagree2

Im sorry but if moyes sanctions this he should be sacked straight away if he thinks all these everton players are so good then (a) why did he never win anything or come close to winning anything with them
(b) Why didn't he just bloody stay there

Agree3 Disagree1

I'm also Irish and would be gutted if we replaced Rafael with Coleman. Rafael is much better

Agree3 Disagree0

I think Rafael will push to go if Fabio goes. That's why they would both be going. Shame, but Coleman is a brilliant and seriously underrated right back.

Agree2 Disagree3

If rafeal is allowed to leave I'll be very worried with what's going to happen to our club

Agree5 Disagree0

Let's look at this objectively guys. Fabio is unlikely to be handed a new deal and this is no doubt a tactic by the agent to think again about keeping him on, by leading the club to believe that, if Fabio leaves, Rafael does too. If that IS the case then Moyes quite rightly won't be held to ransom so it is only prudent to look at alternatives.

Agree2 Disagree1

Fabio shouldn't be allowed to leave yet either. His development has been hampered by being stuck behind evra and Rafael, but is still quite good, and can still get better. He has the pace, and his technical side is about the same as Rafael, he just needs more experience alongside top players.

He may never be first choice, but he could be a perfect backup, able to play on either side. He may still surprise us and catch up with his brother. Having the pair of them together in the two fullback slots would be great.

Agree0 Disagree1

Seamus Coleman is valued at £25 million by Everton, do you think United will pay that?.

Agree1 Disagree0

Paul
You got to be joking, Coleman cost £60,000, now contracted until June 2018. scoring goals for fun under Martinez . best buy Moyes ever did whilst at the Peoples Club . Arsenal supposedly offered more than £25 million last Summer . any improvement?

Eds, Is there any truth that William Carvalho could be used in a swap deal for nani?

Believable15 Unbelievable9

{Ed004's Note - Haven't heard anything}

If we got him plus cash that would be fine, but if we give them Nani plus cash then its an awful move.

Agree2 Disagree0

14 Jan 2014 12:17:12
Its being reported that any deal for nani to go to sporting on loan would see william carvalho coming the other way.

Believable17 Unbelievable16

Not for the prices being thrown around, I would be surprised to see William Carvalho come in January.

Agree0 Disagree0

We'd be doing well to get anything for Nani.

in september 2012 Sir Alex Ferguson was impressed by Domenico Berardi, the teenager who scored four goals during Sassuolo's 4-3 win over AC Milan on Sunday night. His price has rocketed this season about £ 20 million. United is still interested him?

Believable11 Unbelievable17

He has already been signed by Juventus and has been loaned back to Sassuolo for the rest of the season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Berardi is only half of Juventus, and half of Sassuolo

What does everyone make of the rumor of us putting a double bid in for Pogba and Vidal.

It sounds very farfetched to start with as capturing just one would be great.

Does anyone know where this is all coming from as multiple news sources are now saying it now?

Believable15 Unbelievable31

I just cannot see either moving in Jan if at all unless there is silly money involved. Why would Juventus offload their best midfield pairing? I can't see the desire from the players being the driver, so what is?

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you have to turn it around, why would juve sell pogba and Vidal

Agree1 Disagree0

I would gladly carry them from Turin one at a time if I thought this was true. Suddenly we go from the worst middle of the park I've known us possess to one of the best. If only things were that easy.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think it's true but I think if we put in a huge bid for the pair of them they would sell. We'd make a serious stab at the top four and finally, our midfield would look formidable. Sadly, I think none of the above has any change of happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

Have we got 70m +to go sign these players I think not

Agree0 Disagree0

I think the double bid is just paper talk, but maybe Vidal could happen imo. Question is whether it is now or the summer. I would be over the moon if we got Vidal and a half decent l/b in this window, but it is hard to see Juve letting him go mid season unless they receive a huge bid.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think that there is probably interest in both but as others have said why would juve let both go especially mid season. Like I said the other day I would be stunned to see pogba come back to utd. I know psg have shown interest in him and that juve don't seem to be saying that he's not available. I just think we will be out bidded and someone else will offer more money. With regards to vidal I think he's the more likely of the two. I would however be delighted with either.

Agree0 Disagree0

In response to bigrednev we have 70 million to spend but not in one window maybe in the summer
