Rumour Januzaj has fallen out with Van Gaal and wants a transfer, he's been poor so can see it happening

The rumour I have read is that he wants a loan move until the end of the season, not a permanent deal. He has been found out this season though.

"Found out"?
How? He is a 19 year old playing under a new system in which his wide position is not even available for him. He would have to seriously adapt to play in either the midfield role, wing back role. And we all know how much LVG loves Van Persie so Adnan would not be getting a sniff there. He isn't going to play ahead of Di Maria or Rooney so to say he is "found out" is a bit unfair if you ask me. Give the lad a run of games in his preferred position and he will do well. A loan move is ideal until LVG finally settles on a formation.

Hi Eds,
Thanks for the site as always.
I have been doing some 'digging' around various media and there seems to be 3 (in the main) common names being mentioned for this transfer window as potential signings, those being:

1. Bale
2. Strootman
3. Hummels

Are all of these players available for the right price and is it realistic to assume that we could sign one or maybe two of these this month?

Believable1 Unbelievable8

{Ed004's Note - Ed002 has explained the situation with each of these players a few times on the site. I wouldn't expect any of then to move in January. Hummels captain of a team in the relegation spots, Strootman just back from injury and Bale being too expensive}

Hi eds and all friends. How're u all. Hope you peoples are fine.

I've a question for you peoples. Is it true that Man Utd have sold Angelo Henriquez permanently to Dinamo Zagreb for just €1million. ?

Believable2 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - It is true that agreement has been reached for the transfer.}

It's very sad to see that Man Utd is letting another very talented youngster go. I think he can become a very good striker in just few years. Have Man Utd included a buyback clause in his contract.?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There won't be any "buyback" clause.}

14 Jan 2015 12:59:54
I suppose we already have an even more promising young striker in Wilson and at a big club like United there's only room for one in the first team.

Telegr@ph reporting that we've bid 117mil for Gareth Bale, Any truth to this???

Believable4 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of a bid having been made at this time. He is of course available but typically clubs would not rush in with such a bid - there would be considerable discussion first.}

This was a story released in Spain a week or so ago. The reason I think think it's nonsense is due to the price. Why would anyone bid €150m (£117) for a player RM paid just £86m for. He's obviously seen as a flop to RM else they wouldn't be selling him, so why would we offer an extra £31m for him? I think if we were to bid, it would be around the £65m/£70m mark.

Agree0 Disagree0

I disagree Sydney. I agree in principle that we shouldn't bid more. But I think that the only way we will get our man is if we bid over the odds because RM's valuation would be very high. I think the £95 million mark is probably more realistic, but this £117 million figure could include performance related bonuses. I highly doubt a bid in January would be likely anyway, never the less, I would love it to happen as we would have two world class, young wingers then in Di Maria and Bale who know each others games well. Januzaj would wave that number 11 shirt bye bye though.

I would assume Bale would only come if we made it in the top 4 and/or massive wages.

Bale isn't worth £95m, he wasn't worth £86m and RM wouldn't have paid that had they not agreed a very favourable pay structure with Spurs. £65m/£70m tops and that's including bonuses. I put him slightly above or on par with Di Maria and we paid £60m for Di Maria. The £117m rumours are hilarious IMO. Next they will be saying we have bid £50m for Modric.

Agree0 Disagree0

That is the going rate though for top players Sydney. Look at the prices players like David Luiz have gone for. Yes, Bale is not worth it, but did we not bid £150 million in the summer?

Agree0 Disagree1

No, of course we did not bid £150m in the summer.

Agree1 Disagree0

Sydney, a players worth can only really be quantified by what someone else is willing to pay for them. I don't see why it bothers you so much, it isn't your money that will pay for Bale should this happen.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2015 12:08:25
TOT, I am merely stating why I believe the story to be nonsense. On the basis that MU or any other club with half a brain between them simply wouldn't offer RM £117m for Bale. For the same reasons we wouldn't offer Roma £60m for Strootman or Dortmund £70m for Hummels or Everton £40m for Coleman. Because they aren't worth that amount of money.

Agree1 Disagree0

As if we bid £150 million but they took £86 off Real Madrid. That would be shocking business from Tottenham!

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe not those figures for those players but we did pay 30 million for Shaw 28 million for Fellaini and 38 million for Mata which are all more than most people would assume they were worth.

Agree0 Disagree0

14 Jan 2015 15:14:48
None of those fees are surprising in the slightest. Fellaini was always linked to a £30m move to us or Chelsea. Shaw was always going to cost a bomb due to his potential and the fact he's a young Englishman with so many clubs interested in him. 99.99% of MU fans would have bitten arms off for Mata at that price at the time. Hindsight is different of course, but at the time all these players went for fees that was not surprising.

Bale definitely isn't worth 117m just be outragous if any club were to chuck a bid in of that price I agree that he's on par with the likes of di Maria there's a few better players I could think of for less money

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt Chelsea were interested in Fellaini.

Hey eds/all
Hope everybody is good.just a question or 2 for Ed002 if you get time to answer as i know you are very busy.how many players do you think united will look to bring in during the summer and do you think united will try to bring in carlos mane of sporting or memphis depay?i have heard recently but to be honest i don't know if its true, that united are still looking at bringing in a RB - coleman/clyne, a CB, possibly 2 CM's, a winger and possibly a striker?does that sound way off the mark?
Thanks very much for any response that is possibly given

{Ed002's Note - It is difficult to speculate on what may happen in the future when we are still in the previous transfer window.

However, PSV's Memphis Depay has attracted interest from a number of clubs with Manchester City, Real Madrid, Newcastle, Spurs, Marseille and Manchester United looking to see of a deal can be struck this past summer. Marseille signed Batshuayi and dropped their interest in Depay. Newcastle and Spurs are know to still keeping an eye on the player with PSG, Manchester United and Everton being suggested as possible destinations as well. Someone very knowledgable about football in the Netherlands has suggested that a move to Newcastle would suit him better than the likes of Real Madrid or the Manchester sides as he would need a couple of years to establish himself in the first team and sitting on the bench will not help him at all. He has also advised against a move to Spurs, and his views are well enough thought of to likely remove them from being an option for the player himself.

Carlos Mane was of interest to David Moyes, I am not aware of current interest from Manchester United.

There is interest from MU in Seamus Coleman but I suspect he will not be available in January unless an offer well over the odds is made.

A new contract at Southampton is on offer but interest from Manchester United remains as he is seen as a much cheaper alternative to Coleman. The previous interest of Spurs has gone.

I have explained about interest in CBs and DM players. I expect that Manchester United will be looking for a striker fairly soon.}

Ed,

I saw you mention on another page that AM are wary of losing Koke this summer. If you don't mind, could you share who has interest/where he is most likely to move to?

Thanks!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - There is interest from Chelsea and I am really not keen on answering "most likely" questions.
