Just been reading on the Liverpool page and you got to laugh at some of Ed002 responses to them, total class, I applaude you. Also confirmed was that we're pushing for a striker, lacazette to PSG, Cavani to us anyone?

Please not Cavani. He's 29 in February! Can't we get a long term striker rather than change ever 3/4 years? Or at least someone with a bit of pace?

Well matt personally I'd like Kane but think he will be staying at and is happy at spurs, lacazette would be another one I'd like, I'm just thinking who realistically and we know PSG want lacazette.

I don't see Cavani's age as a problem at all. The main problem would be the price we pay for him. If we buy a 28 year old Cavani we know what we're getting a ready made number 9. He'd give us 3 years of top service, by which time I'd have thought Rooney would have gone and we'd know if Wilson was ready or not.

Lacazette or Kane are my options as well. I'd happily take Kane for 40 million but I doubt Spurs probably would accept it.

Why buy a world class striker when we all know captain Rooney will be first name on the team sheet? So he's either going to be in midfield or on the wing were he's equally ineffective!

Ok, IF Hernandez(he's clearly not in LVG's plans) goes and Rooney get's injured I highly doubt we will play Wilson. There would be far to much pressure on the lad.

As much as I'd love lewandowski it's never going to happen and looking at the squad believe we we will only be playing with one striker which in all likely hood will be Rooney and the likes of RL Kane etc won't come and sit on the bench we need a good back up perhaps a youngster like Berinho? Or even a Charlie Austin I know there no where near wc but would do a great job, but I feel that LVG won't buy a striker he will use Rooney, Wilson, dephay, and wait for it Fellaini. Hope I'm wrong but I'd be surprised if he bought one.

I see kane possibly coming to us in say 2/3 years time as a lpng term replacement for rooney. My thinking behind this that whereas kane is in love with spurs at the moment unless spurs start challenging for the title or at least a CL spot he may decide that he wants to move on for footballing reasons in order to win things and play in the CL.

French newspapers reporting this morning that PSG have agreed terms with ADM. Of course, no transfer fee has been agreed yet but I do believe ADM does not want to stay in Manchester.

People don't like Cavani and Gaitan and I can't fathom why. Gaitan just because he is linked time and again. He is a really good player, has all the attributes to do good for us. Cavani offers so much with his physicality and strength and a good knack to score goals be it with dribbling the defender, rounding the keeper or hitting from some yards out. People just don't like them because they don't like them. Oh dear.

Gaitan doesn't score or assist very often is the reason he isn't wanted one would assume. Cavani has an excellent scoring record although drifts in and out of games, he gets goals though and that's what counts.

Cavani is the 4th top scorer in Europe over the last 5 years behind Ronaldo, Messi and Zlatan.

He would be a fantastic signing.

Gaiten wouldn't make the starting team why we would buy him after off loading Nani is mental. I agree we should chuck whatever it takes to get Lewandowski what a player absolutely perfect for LvGs style

It's fantastic to be linked to the biggest names again after falling from our pedestal somewhat but I don't think they're needed. A striker who is willing to bench for Rooney (Benteke, Icardi etc) is more suitable than another worldie fighting for up top like last season, leading to perhaps a number of strikers failing to hit top form (again). I for one am delighted we have fixed our midfield and can't wait to see Rooney playing a full season at the head of our attack. We have already signed 4 players, a striker and a defender would take it to over half the team and that is assuming DDG does not require replacing. Just a thought but given that maybe there is little business left.

Supposedly Otamendi is signed, then the protection our defence gets from our midfield would be mouth watering to watch. Schweinsteiger, Schneiderlin and Herrera both are excellent tacklers and have high defensive ability . Can't wait for the season to begin
