I don't normally talk about the ronaldo topic but i'm afraid I've started but Ed with rumours at the weekend that Jorge mendes has advised Ronaldo to stay at RM for another season (if true ed?) this maybe points to him lowering his value as I think he may only have a year left the following summer? Helping obviously a return to us?

Supasub {Ed002's Note - I don't expect Ronaldo to move this summer. The rest is simply speculation - you should perhaps look forward rather than back.}

No idea whether the agent has advised that, however another way to look at it could be that it is a veiled threat. Agent to Real Madrid, let him go now, this summer, at these terms or he will run another year off his contract and his value will plummet. Seems interesting this rumour is out only a day or two after Buetragueno made a comment on them wanting to keep him. For me there are so many twists and turns and if the agent has made this known there is usually a reason for it and not necessarily that the advice in the public domain is the real advice given

Ed what are the chances of are deal with james rodriguez in the summer and maybe mats Hummels! {Ed002's Note - I have no way of quantifying "what are the chances", but everyone knows where they stand and what needs to be done to make a transfer happen for Rodriguez.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Is this the Rodriguez who doesn't make the starting line up? {Ed004's Note - yes the same Rodriguez who has 8 goals in 11 games and has just come back from injury}

Ed is there any remaining interest in Hector Herrera? I think we will sign two central midfielders, but I would imagine that one of them will be less well known than the other. Something like Herrera & Strootman. {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

I think he's nailed on for Porto, no?

McCarthy? Especially if Wigan go down.

Agree0 Disagree1

Don't understand the hype about McCarthy, he's really not that good.

Hello ed 002.
How much truth u see in the rumours that united have been told to pay 70m if they want to land gareth bale.
Rodio17 {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any such rumour but if Manchester United were to be interested in Ronaldo they already know exactly what they need to pay.}

Believable3 Unbelievable0

Ed are you sayin we have enquired about ronaldo an have being giving a price. I'm not really sure how to take your reply.

CAIN {Ed002's Note - No, I didn't say anything like that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

So Ed Madrid have already named a price for Ronaldo? As in I know if he were to decline a new contract they'd have no choice but to sell but has it gotten to that stage yet? {Ed002's Note - The price is the value of his termination clause.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure I'll get told in the nicest possible way that you're not going to discuss this but. what price would that be?

Agree0 Disagree0

100 million euros?

Supasub {Ed002's Note - Right.}

100 million euros?

Thanks Ed!

Agree0 Disagree0

So at today's rate, about 86 million sterling just for the fee. How could that value be potentialy different summer after this one ed if no new contract is signed?
Can you grab your football transfer value measuring wand ( or "dip stick" as someone called it) from above the fireplace once more please?

Supasub {Ed002's Note - That is the termination clause - it won't change. Should Real Madrid offer to sell him to a club for less than that it is up to them.}

Agree0 Disagree0

The original question was about Bale costing 70 million, nothing about Ronaldo!

I can't see Bale costing that much, Lecy would drive a hard deal, but I can't see it going that high.

Id take bale over ronaldo he's younger left footed and would be a world class player at united rather than a top one at spurs!

people say moyes has done a good job at everton on a low budget and would be a good manager for us. well what about klopp? he is the reason dortmund are where they are now and has probably spent less than moyes and achieved more.

Believable28 Unbelievable2

Pains me to say it but I see mourinho as our next manager. although I agree with you I would like someone who is hungry and would stay at O. T for 10+ years. like moyes or klopp

Agree0 Disagree1

Moyes is a disaster. Klopp is a fantastic manager who has very new and bright ideas. To compare the two is ludicrous.
I would love klopp to come in. We'll have a team playing very attractive football and also with modern tactics. With no over reliance on wingers.

Moyes would be an appalling choice as Manager, he has insufficient experience of European Football. If the amount of managerial casulaties shows us anything it's that certain managers are suited to certain clubs, doing a great job at one doesn't necessarilly follow through to another.
You only have to look at one of the most over-rated managers out there: Martin O'Neil: did good things with Leicester, won plenty with Celtic (but then: who wouldn't), nothing with Villa and nothing with sunderland!

Agree0 Disagree1

I can see Klopp staying at Dortmund until the end of next season, then taking over from Loew after the World Cup. then Loew could (finally) takeover from whoever Madrid have lined up for next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

Klopp is a sort after forward thinking coach/manager. May just be the sort of person for Utd. Only thing is this country hasn't been able to attract top quality Germans be they players or managers.

Agree0 Disagree0

I've said all along Klopp would be my 1st choice but I can't see it happening.

Klopp is an excellent manager but is helped a great deal by the overall set-up at Dortmund. Their sport scientists and training methods are out of this world and their facilities aren't too shabby either. goes to show that spending huge money on superstars doesn't always mean you will win and play the best football. Recently seen a figure that suprised me, during his tenure Klopp has spent less then 25 million to get Dortmund where they are now, His views and ability to get the best and promote internally has been a breath of fresh air and I could only wish we get a manager as talanted and creative as him. Better then moyes In my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thin Klopp would be an excellent choice! However, I think he said he was staying at Dortmund, probably depends if they start losing their big players i. e Goetze, Hummels, Reus etc etc they actually have some fantastic players don't they!

For the guy talking about Martin oneil saying who wouldn't win trophies with Celtic I know we didn't win the Uefa cup in 2003 but we wiped the floor with your so called prem league teams I. e Liverpool, Blackburn so don't try and take snipes at the hoops. And I'm not trying to wind utd fans up here but you'll never be able to replace ferguson. There's no one out there with the same consistency as him
