De gea fergie was pretty definite in post match interview

Definitely de gea. lindergaard ws great 2nite bt de gea ws just rested. de gea gets the nod frm me.

Lindegaard was great tonight, but we have only seen a glimmer of what De Gea is capable of. De Gea is our starter, and will become a United great.

who do you think has looked the better keeper at the moment.

Lindegaard was fabolous tonight.. I think as he showed in pre season he has quality .. I think de gea wil get there but it looks at the moment lindegaard has presens and calm .. De gea is behind at the moment
Agree0
Disagree0
Well jred I would have to go with De Gea. Although Lindegaard has looked solid all around, De Gea leads the league in saves at 22,(One of those being a penalty against arsenal) has two clean sheets out of 4, has great foot skills, and some of the best ball deliveries( look at the goal that Hernandez should have had against Bolton because of this for reference). Stats don't lie my friends.

Lindegaard should be number 1 on that performance, BUT SAF wouldn't drop DDG as it would possibly do his confidence plus it could be construed as he made a mistake in buying him
Defo DDG to start

De Gea is our number one, Lindegaard is our number two. End of.

Lindegaard speaks the language, has been here since jan and has more professional experience. non of that however amounts to the potential of de gea. he isnt in line to replace the best keeper of the last decade (casillas) as spains number one for no reason. hes good now.. soon he will be the best. believe.
Agree0
Disagree0
De Gea's distribution is far better than Lindegaard which suits Utd down to the ground considering the counter-attacking football they play. Also, bar the first couple of games De Gea has been very solid.

Carrick and Fletcher aren't good enough in midfield. We can't always rely on Giggsy. Should of brought someone in.
Believable12

Carrick needs selling definately, fletcher i feel will do as cover for ando and cleverley but f*ck me, can carrick pass a ball forward without passing it straight to opposition

Add Evans to the list he is pants

I have to agree Carrick and Evans have been awful

Evans easily brushed aside for the goal but evra was out of position again.

Left side of defence is really weak at the moment - evans is shocking, evra not looking too good, hopefully just a drop in form and he picks up.
way i see it more games he plays jones, league and europe gives him that more experience i have no doubt in the boys talent. i think he could easy keep anyone from starting in that back four with more experience
Agree0
Disagree0
Couple of the players need a good kick up the backside, Carrick has been woeful for the last couple of years! no strength, positioning, passing or creativity - he's starting to be a liability in the centre of the park! Evra doesn't want to be a defender he's always caught out of position up the field and frustrating seeing him dander back like its an afternoon stroll!
Hoping for SAF to go out and Jan and buy either a creative midfield or a roy keane style stopper - think Carrick days are numbered!
Agree0
Disagree0
Evra is more of a wing back and carrick holds in midfield....however i was very frustrated with the amount of times last night that we played the ball back to lindegaard and ended up playing long balls towards rooney who was beaten in the air all day long!

It seems SAF has decided not to give anyone their CL debut tonight. Perhaps they will all get their debuts together in the Basel tie? People will be impressed with Lindegaard tonight, he is a very good goalkeeper. De Gea, Ferdinand, Jones, Anderson, Nani, Young & Hernandez given a rest tonight. I guess the midfield trio are playing for the spot next to Anderson on the weekend.

Brave and bold move which is also genius if we get a result, giving first starts of the season to numerous players

Not worried about the quality of player on display. But match fitness could be our downfall here....but then even if we lose we're giving match fitness to several players...but then a win is always the best way to start a CL campaign...but our group is easy so we can afford to spunk this result to give some players some pitch time....
Suppose this was what Alex was thinking and just thought f*** it. I'll give 'em the game time.
Good to see Valencia back though, and glad Fabio has started - they'd both be in my first XI anyways.
Agree0

Omg 10 minutes in already screaming at telly carrick is not worthy of wearing united shirt valencia very greedy although I think he does have a point to prove and giggs passing below average. Debuts should have been given me thinks

My brother is a Norwich fan and he said he'd cry if they bought Carrick!

Carrick has constantly been our worst player for the last 4 years and has cost us 2 cl finals. And judging by this display giggs has had his day sad to say.

We are awful what is our midfield doing? Why is carrick playing he is terrible and not utd standard, we keep giving the ball away but as I speak giggs scores a great goal. We need to up our game big time and take carrick off asap

Thats why he's struggled at both Milan and Lyon then......
Agree0

He had 1 good season at Bordeaux then he went to Lyon and since then he has become a flop.
At Bordeaux he was a big fish in a little pond. Now he's at Lyon he turned into a little fish in a big pond.
I don't think he would be able to hack the premier league. It's much more competitive than any other league especially the French league.

lol caughtoffside reporting that manchester united and chelsea interested in milos krasic, a winger?
caughtoffside just seem to pick a half decent player and link them to 2/3 of the top clubs!
we have valencia, nani, young, giggs, park, welbeck who can all play wide, why do we constantly get linked with more wingers? think its pretty evident if we are lookin at anybody its young, talented players. {Ed002's Note - Chelsea have been interested in Krasic and did enquire a few weeks back. Krasic then got injured and all went quiet. Assume it be be an old story being recycled.}
Believable2

Krasic can also play CAM but I wouldn't think we would be looking at him. I think if we were looking at an 'older' CAM we would be aiming a little higher.

A friend of mine who gets little bits of info from Fulham has told me that United have kept a close eye on Matthew Briggs. He is primarily a Left-back, but can play CB if needed. Could he be a future understudy to Fabio? Will he be the next good find by SAF? Could this be why United cancelled their planned talks with Izaguirre in July?
Sydney!
Believable5

I think Izaguirre ended talks by shouting out to the world that united were interested in him, then followed by the fact he broke his foot shortly after!
Ozwald

I don't think him getting injured had any effect on whether or not we were signing him. If we wanted him he would have been signed up in June or July. I think him shouting his mouth of was him trying to revive the interest. Perhaps Izaguirre was lined-up just in case we got offered a good price for Evra in the summer?

A United fan called Steve Fraser aged 27 died suddenly recently. A member of his family contacted the club for a signed photo, but instead got a handwritten letter from SAF himself. Classy man, classy club.
