I was impressed with Nev tonight on Sky and he wasn't biased unlike some of the others.

United 1977

Believable13 Unbelievable2

Nev was not saying what he was thinking .. inside he wanted to say I hope the Devils kill u and u burn in hell

JOE

Did anyone else notice that Petr Cech had a far worse game againt Stoke than De Gea had against West Brom? They didn't seem to mention it on MOTD.... funny that..

APC

Believable14 Unbelievable2

Stoke didn't scoar , cech didn't mess up a shot , the one de gea let in was shocking , am a amateur keeper and a couldave saved it , he looked as if he couldent be botherd

Why are you judging DDG after one game and well didnt VDS make mistakes when he first arrived so lay of DDG

Anybody see the reserves match tonight how did Fletcher play?? Good to see he played the full 90 good to have him back have big matches coming up soon

Believable12 Unbelievable1

Yes. They were as rubbish as the first team yesterday. Pogba had some good moments though. Darron Gibson didn't increase his transfer price. Fletcher looking physically stronger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well Fletcher played full 90 mins and his passing was good and he seemed fit to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fletch was put in shadow by arsenal kids
For somebod with 300 1st team app he wasn't gr8 but helps hus match fitness

Agree0 Disagree0

He stayed in front of the back 4 all night and did the job ok. He lasted the 90 minutes and I got the impression he played to last the full game, rather than playing his usual fast game and tiring after 45 minutes. I also got the impression he was slightly bloated which is strange as some posters have said he lost 2 stone?

Gibson was terrible in front of him. He played like he did not care about helping fletcher, he stayed forward a lot looking for a killer pass or to have one of his trademark shots. It was like he was trying to impress possible future clubs with his skill but completely forget his defensive duties. He is a really bad premiership player and would be terrible without united class players to cover for him.

Pogba did ok, but he played wide right to accommodate Gibson. He had an absolutely fantastic pass to Diouf for the goal.

Not a very good match overall as some posters have said.

Steven Defour has signed for Porto.

G.A.G.U.S

Believable11 Unbelievable1

Moutinho will be off soon then........

United Till I Die 1987

Read that on Goal earlier but that site is garbage I think people here have better connections... If he has we have lost out out on a decent player for a low cost if we were ever really chasing him

aguero should be wearing a red shirt
Syd will say let them spend then how bad they are for doin it but the glazer lack of spend will see city catch us this season
That hurts but we just don't spend and it needs to be said no big signing glazers out

Believable13 Unbelievable7

Perhaps you should see it from a different perspective? Maybe SAF watched that and is not telling Gill to seal the Sneijder move?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you mean 'now telling' instead of 'not telling' there Syd

United Till I Die 1987

Agree0 Disagree0

Glazer greed will see us play second fiddle to city this season, unfortunately we can no longer compete with the rich mens play things the future could be bleak...andog

Agree0 Disagree0

If u think your pissed off ... imagine what it is like being an Arsenal fan how much they spend

JOE

Agree0 Disagree0

'United Till I Die 1987'

Yes mate, thanks for that.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

So we rely on **ity buying a fantastic player to force glazers to spend
What does that tell u syd about them glazers??

Agree0 Disagree0

We have already spent £50 million this window, which is enough. You watch **ITTY have one good game at home to a newly promoted side and think they are world beaters. **itty will implode at some point this season because there are very few actual city fans playing for that side and to many mercenaries.

Kun aquerooo

Man city for the leaugue, we will walk it sydney, aquero or shrek, don't even waste your breath on the answer united fans, too strong, blue is quickly taking over MANCHESTER
Have a drinnk on me sydneyy, you'll need it at the end of the season'

Believable1 Unbelievable24

All this because you beat Swansea?
Get a grip man

Pritpal

Agree0 Disagree0

Man city fan up his own bum beat a championship team well done

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow u beat Swansea so impressed, he came on as a sub against an inferior team that was tiring. Why didn't Mancini start him or bring him on as a sub vs United. All he is doing is replacing Tevez and you better hope is as good as him. The mercenaries win a game the Epl is now theirs

Agree0 Disagree0

Will u stop Rooney or Kun will u stop Kun had a massive game tonight against a team who played in the league when?? City taking over Manchester ha 19league trophies

Agree0 Disagree0

He was always going to have the game of his life on his debut. Especially at home against easy opposition who can only attack. I expect City to be top for a couple of months simply because you have a very easy first couple of months. You can tell Bernstein has had his input on the fixtures. I bet you have an easy home game after every away CL game too.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

A remind me of the community sheild score? You blew a two nil lead we had cleverly and ando and at half time you will not walk away with this league no way you don't have the experience of winning the league come feb-march well hit top form and rip teams apart Blue moon rising soon enough you'll do a chelsea buy all the best players eventually you'll have to many class players they'll walk and you'll be left with a s**t team Mark my words
I think I'd rather have Rooney than aguero two goals againsts swansea and he's better than. Probably the best striker in the leave Atm Jesus come off it you were playing Swansea haha Let's see him score two at old Trafford never happen aha
Macca

Agree0 Disagree0

Watched the game in the pub with 3 real city fans after 35 mins they were all saying city looked poor and i said swansea are playing above themselves and will tire as all championship sides are not as fit as any top prem team and that city would score 2 or 3 late on i got shouted down as they said bobby manc was clueless but lo and behold when they won i had to endure them saying they r now favorites for the prem same over the top reaction as ever come back in may if you dare bring on number 20

Agree0 Disagree0

Now be fair man city beating Swansea is a massive moment in their history they should be very proud and it will only stand them in good stead when the massive games come along for them like crawly town in the F.A cup

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree0 Disagree0

Giddy b****rd, sit down, you make your players out to be better than they are.... yaya scored one goal against united and you think that justifys paying him 250,000 a week? he was a barca bench warmer, now you think aguero is justified for scoring 2 against swansea? get real you plank. Your such a massive club your posting on united websites you joker, i bet you check uniteds sky sports page everyday to see if daft old c**t summerbee has had another pop so you can all sit in circles at the pub bashing off over him...... UNITED: slapping berties down for over 100 years...get back to stockport you dink

Agree0 Disagree0

Aguero, better than Rooney? Isn't Rooney in like the top five players in the world?

Wow Aguero looks a hell of a player Rate him so high such a shame he signed for city

PRR8

Believable9 Unbelievable10

Ask glazer where our money is that's why he went there not us

Agree0 Disagree0

Dude, I have watch Aguero play about 30 times and believe me he isn't all that. He is a good player don't get me wrong but it was his debut against arguably the weakest back 4 in the premiership. Judge him at the end of the season and not after 1 game He worked hard yesterday but in all the matches i've seen him play, he doesn't even compare to Tevez or Rooney in terms of workrate.

Syd, I noticed you said Morrison may play tonight but don't think he has been named in side or among subs. Any idea why, nothing major I hope? Ie linked to past problems

Enigma

Believable6 Unbelievable0

I would'nt draw too much into the fact that Morrison not in squad, with Fletcher , Gibson &Pogba in midfield, theres not much room for him.Several other regulars also left out and quite a few of the starting eleven are in the shop window for loans or permanent transfers.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow the second poster has basically said what I was going to say. It was a shop window game, all besides Pogba, Fletcher, Cole & the Keanes are all waiting for loan outs and to be sold. It was a shop window game and there was no gelling.

Sydney!

Gibson is a very poor player. He contributed very little to the midfield. The sooner he goes the better.

personally i dont think there's anything to these goetze rumours unfortunately. even if he wanted to come, i still think we need a more experienced head. we have all the youth and flair in the likes of cleverley (who has really impressed me, don't know about the rest of you) anderson, young etc. so what we need is experience and quality, and goetze only ticks one of those boxes

Nasri to stay with arsenal this season. But come january he will sign a pre contract agreement to join united he doesn't care about the money he wants to be the best and win trophies. And it'll be a 5year contract for him. Whether or not we can reach an agreement for early release of nasri when he pens the pre contract is another story. So he'll join either in jan or next summer.

Manumad

Believable7 Unbelievable16

I thought you can't sigh a pre contract in same league? {Ed007's Note - It needs to be a month before your contract expires, not 6. And could the OP please alter their name to remove "manu", I just noticed that.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Nasri will either sign a new contract with Arsenal or move this summer, NOT January, most likely destination is still s**tty

Agree0 Disagree0

'Manutdmad'

Nasri will sign for City in less than a week.

Sydney! {Ed007's Note - I hate doing that but needs must. It seems a lot of youngsters use the term now Syd. I have even warned the CFC fans about it as well.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Stop your BS even if you say you have contacts you dont. If Nasri doesnt go to Shi**y then he is staying at Arsenal.

JOE

Agree0 Disagree0

There was a rumour here united were willing to give arsenal time to find a replacement and then offer 10-15 for nasri in January nasri was going to stay at arsenal till Jan as respect for the club since they were losing Fabergas... Wouldn't say this was far fetched but why would we pay for a player who would become available 6mts later for free if he signs for city we all know why he wants to join them

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed007 can you explain the prob with the term "manu" please. Cheers {Ed007's Note - It is used in sick twisted references to Munich. It is highly offensive therefore not allowed on here.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Fair enough. thanks for taking the time to reply cheers {Ed007's Note - No worries.}

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - See to the wee cretin that left that disgusting post, enjoy your long term ban and after that is up, I have noted your IP and you will just constantly be banned from the site, so there is no point in even trying to post anything again. Little low life tossers like you are not welcome on any of these sites, I just hope by the time you have to face a personal tragedy that you have matured enough to realise how much of a complete waste of your fathers semen you actually are. Sorry about that guys but that was against Utd and LFC. You can imagine the content by my reaction.}

No wonder Arsenal were playing hardball, Barcelona sign Cesc for an initial £25m and a possible £4.4m in add-on clauses if Barcelona win the La Liga two years on the trot and the CL once in the first two years.

So Cesc will cost between £25m-£29.4m, it really gets my goat how Spanish clubs get their players for so cheap. They only paid £27m for Sanchez and most of that is in bits. Glad we got £80m for Ronny.

Sydney!

Believable20 Unbelievable3

It's unbelievable that he cost less than Carroll.
Sydney, how do you think they will fit the 2 new arrivals?

J Bones.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im surprised Arsenal buckled. They were pushing for the add ons to be much more guaranteed so if they have settled for that I would be surprised. I heard it was for 2 league wins and a CL within the next 5 years. I think we let Madrid screw us on the Bechkam deal to be honest. At the time I believe we could have gotten atleast £35million for him but as it is they only ended up paying £20million. I would imagine that Fabregas will slot into the middle with Xavi and Iniesta and they will get by without the holding player. Sanchez will slot rotate with Villa and Pedro I would imagine.

TK-Red

Agree0 Disagree0

That's what happens when a player makes it very clear he wants to leave and leave only for one club. Nothing more or less. The selling club is left with no option and cannot offer the player to other teams as its got no effect.

Agree0 Disagree0

Valdez

Dani Alves---Pique---Puyol---Adriano

Xavi

Sanchez---Fabregas---Iniesta---Villa

Messi

Xavi is getting on a bit so he is more likely to adopt a holing role and spray out long passes

Pedro will alternate with Sanchez and Abidal/Maxwell with Adriano

Also don't forget young Thiago, i'm sure he will have a few games too. Barca didn't squad rotate enough last year so i think they will to combat any fatigue

=v1=

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you insane?
Pedro to act as a sub?
My dear friend do not think that Sanchez has been brought to replace Pedro. As hard as it is to realise, he has been brought in to supply some natural width, which is something David Villia cannot provide. I would not have been surprised to see Villa move on this window, not because he isn't world class, it's just now Messi has adopted the central role he is being played out of position.
Fabregas is Xavi long term replacement/alternative. He will have a massive fight on his hands to be a Barcelona regular anytime over the next 2/3 years.
Baelona team will be no different to last years with few players pushing for places like so.
Valdez
Alvez. Pique. Puyol. Abidal

Busquets/mascerano
Xavi/Fab. Iniesta/thiago

Pedro. Messi. Villa/Sanchez

PJ

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Guadiola will keep a holding midfielder.
He'll then use a lot more rotation than last year. You could argue that not only have they got Fabregas and Sanchez, but we have also seen the emergence of Thiago who is also like a new signing.

Iniesta Busquets Xavi

Pedro Messi Villa

or

Fabregas Mascherano Thiago

Affellay messi Sanchez

F*****g awesome.

J Bones.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cesc___Xavi___Iniesta

Chez___Messi___Villa

It will look like this for this season, Neymar could replace Villa next season if Barcelona sell Villa to fund the deal. Absolutely no need for a Busquets or Mascherano.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

@PJ

If you were aiming the Pedro on the bench i think you'll find i said he will rotate with A.Sanchez buddy

=v1=

Agree0 Disagree0

When barce have the ball tull backs push right up the cb's go wide and more often than not the holding player drops back between the cb's , so i would think that a busquets type player is vital to the way they play, i also think sanchez is more likely to replace villa than pedro.
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Any chance of having a united comment here???

Agree0 Disagree0

Jred, Rooney would love it if he had Xavi as a holding midfielder. Imagine the space he would have when the full backs went forward as you pointed out.

J Bones.

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason Barca and Real get the players cheap is they don't want to anywhere else so the selling clubs have no option.Fabregas and Sanchez are perfect examples.

Man city offered more for Sanchez but he wouldn't go there so Udinese had to accept a lower bid from Barca

Marky Mark

Agree0 Disagree0

I think its utter BS that barca can get away with paying so little for a player like fab and then stick a 200mill buy-out clause in his contract...arsenal were looking for 40mill and barca said he wasnt worth 40mill but now that they have signed him he's all of a sudden worth 200mill.....they also got sanchez for little or nothing in the end aswel.. 23mill is a long way off the 35mill udinese were looking for....its a pure disgrace what barca have been doing...they wont pay the money a club wants for their player but also want way above top dollar for their players

Agree0 Disagree0

I think its 29 rising to 34 Sydney, dependant on cup wins....
You can't (as a selling club) charge extortionate prices if the player wants to go.... its tough, and there aren't many (if any) players who wouldn't want to live in and play for clubs like Real and Barca...

Whistler

Agree0 Disagree0

It's not that he is worth 200 million to them, it just means that they REALLY don't want to sell him so unless he wants to go and is forcing a move (never going to happen or at least very unlikely) they don't have to accept a bid if it less than 200 million. In some countries their FA have deemed it necessary that all contracts must have a minimum fee in it, so they didn't put it in by choice, they have to. And of course they are going to say he is worth less than what Arsenal quote because Cesc was pushing for the move and so it forces Arsenal to accept a lower amount or risk upsetting the player further. Simple logic nothing more

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2011 13:11:39
I tend to agree we need a cdm but personally I'd like phil jones be given a go I no we signed him as a cb and he has said that is his preferd position but having watched him play there for Blackburn he was very impressive ,
Any1 any thoughts ?

Believable6 Unbelievable11

I think that I would like to see Lassana Diarra arrive in OT. He is underated and gets his job done well. He could be brought in for between 10-15 million ... it would be money well spent and would give the option of buying the likes of another young player e.g Gotze

JOE

Agree0 Disagree0

JOE

I agree that Diarra is a good player but he is VERY me me me. He doesn't play the team game (strange for his position really) and he is quite big headed so could disrupt the team ethic quite a bit (and it seems United have a VERY good team ethic so why disrupt that?)

You have got to laugh at the latest Sneijder twist, he is apparently depressed after the move to United collapsed. Well lower your wage demands then you nugget.

Sydney!

Believable25 Unbelievable5

Players are too silly these days, i think it's more to do with their greedy agents but oh well.. Syd where did you see or hear this about Wesley being depressed about the collapsed transfer?

Agree0 Disagree0

Wouldnt you be depressed if u had to play for inter milan and live in italy

Agree0 Disagree0

On Italia Radio it has been reported Sneijder is willing to drop his demands after saying he doesn't want to return to Italy, and has asked to meet David Gill AGAIN.

Agree0 Disagree0

I must admit, I was polite on Twitter to WS, but said our patience was wearing thin.
5HIT or GET OFF THE POT

Agree0 Disagree0

Again I will say this, his demands re wages are not the problem but Inters demans are. They want Tevez and feel a deal with City would suit them better. As I have said all along WS wants us and had already lowered his wage requests. Sydney you are miles out on this one mate.

Just an opinion on this Transfer Window. I am sure that SAF believes that his current squad is more than capable of retaining the Prem. Title. Iam also sure that he is aware that they are not good enough to win the Champions League. SAF will not have too many seasons left to lift this trophy and that is why he will buy again in this window.

Believable21 Unbelievable4

15 Aug 2011 09:30:29
Why dont we put in a £25 million bid for Nasri? Arsenal look prepared to sell, he is incredibly underrated who is very creative, can score goals and has pace, cheaper, younger and half the wages of Sneijder.

Believable18 Unbelievable3

Nani is much better than Nasri. Look at the stats, goals and assists.

Im hoping We get an offer for berbatov shortly. If he and Gibson go i expect 2 more signings.
I feel for him a bit as he is quality, just not to our style at all.
He looked like a player set on Leaving yesterday.Mind you i dont blame him, with Welbeck infront of him on pecking order. lol

Believable15 Unbelievable3

I do agree with you that he is a great player that doesn't quite fit into our style, when you buy a player like him you have to build the team around him and have most of the play going through him, but our style is just to quick for him to do that. But i still would be happy to see him stay and i think that there are some games he can play a big part in. I also like the fact that he doesn't whinge in public when he get left out of games and does appear to really want to play for Man United and win trophies with the club.

Mario Goetze is gathering pace.
Have a few higher profile papers saying there is a chance We will make an offer.
Also the fact scouts are over there could be an indication the rumours are true.
Id expect it to be toward the very end of the transfer window though.
Perhaps the move could force sneijder to reconsider his requests as im sure he is unsettled now. ;)
Simon.

Believable8 Unbelievable7

We may make an offer for Goetze, but he won't leave Germany for anyone in the EPL for a couple of seasons. I also think £35m and £250,000 per week is far to much for Sneijder. Marvin Martin and Tiote could be had for £30m the two, with combines wages of only 40% of WS's We need a holding midfielder and an attacking midfielder. Don't get me wrong I'd love to have Goetze at OT, just can't see him wanting the move.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't get why they've let him go (sneijder) off to ibiza so close to the start of the season? considering he only got back from holiday in the states not too long ago??
must be a reason..

Exactly what i thought when i heard Sneijder had 5 days off this close to the start of the season, very unusual this close to the start of their season.

Urgent signings of jack rodwell is being considered now as ferdinand and vidic cast doubts with injury. SAF dont want repeat of 2009-2010 season where he lacked cover in defence and costed him title with only 1 point
moreover he has sold brown and o,shea.
rodwell wil give cover and battling whn needed in mifield. he fits current plan to nurture for future..

Believable7 Unbelievable8

Rodwell can't even hold a place down at Everton. He is worth about £8m - £10m. Trouble is they want £25m for him. We've got Smalling, Jones and Evens to fill in, that will do for me.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol where on earth did u get this from?
im suspecting your not over 17?

Agree0 Disagree0

I would rather bring in Gotze & Rodwell than Sneijder.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Cant see Rodwell coming in in this window, I believe there is an greement in place to go in for the lad next summer. Will cost in the region of 14 mill this window or 8mill next year makes sense and will have an extra years experience. Will be one of utds 1st signings next summer

THIS WILL ONLY MAKE DE GEA STRONGER.SAF will b having a word with himFor the nxt couple of games or more he will be bombarded with long shots from opposing teams to test him,,if he gets through it on top,he will be magnifigent

Believable9 Unbelievable6

People keep saying bad things about de gea but a man utd legend had a nightmare on his debut peter shmeicial and that was against the wombles

Agree0 Disagree0

Now having seen longs goal I would not say it was a blunder yes he should have done better but hey he made some good saves and his distribution was awesome I think you are right SAF will have words but he will be the best keeper in the league this year

Whitey

Agree0 Disagree0

We need to keep our fair with De Gea. He certainly showed promising signs although he has been prone to errors. We must rely on the goalkeeping coaches to get the best out of him, hopefully they will persuade Van Der Sar (of whom De Gea is a big fan) to come in for a few days to give him some help and improve the lads confidence. So far he looks more confident with Evans and Jones in defence than Vidic and Rio

Agree0 Disagree0

Perhaps if VDS stands behind him it will help.

De Gea was woeful today - we should have signed Reina when we had the chance or even kept Van der Sar another season. really disappointed

Believable8 Unbelievable27

Give the lad a chance. He is only 20 and if Fergie thinks he is good enough then you can be sure he is.

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree I don't think I've ever seen Reina make a mistake

Oh no wait sorry he's made hundreds.

I'm calling you out as a Liverpool fan on a wind up.

We should have signed reina to be a groundsman no way he is as good as de gea

Agree0 Disagree0

Wasn't that long ago that fergie thought taibi and bosnich were good enough, got to admit his record with keepers is not that good...andog

Agree0 Disagree0

In truth he has bought some woeful goalies Before you say Van de saar He was a proven prem goalie when he bought him.

Agree0 Disagree0

He should have saved the shot but the two times he ended up on the deck he was fouled by those WBA players. The ref was disgraceful giving a corner. Reina would have been decked too if Long armed him in the face and if he was barged to the floor.

Absolutely shocking in his first 2 games, i know he is 20, but he came with rave reviews ect, shudda gave oshea the gloves instead of selling him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Judge him at the end of the season. Schmeichel, Evra, Vidic are all players I remember making howliign performances in there first two or three games.
20 years old in a totally new country at one of the worlds biggest clubs, its a lot of pressure. He has all the potential but is boudn to make msitakes, sure he will come good, dont judge him on two bloody games though (Mind you whenever it goes to a close up of him I cant help thinking he looks like a young Almunia with a different haircut)

Get a grip and give the lad a chance, he's only just bleedin landed and according to the coaching staff is working his ass off and is the most gifted young GK they have seen so I think he will be fine. Just chill out.

Blackburn are in for Gibson, I think it's an initial loan deal with an option to buy (haven't heard for definate) decent player but not United Quality. Next three days could be big for United with regards to Sneijder.

I know about Blackburn's plans to take Gibson on loan. I think they are not interested in spending big money, I think they have conned the Rovers fans. Gibson would be a class act for Blackburn.

Agreed

Yea i rate him good quality.
Clev will take his place playing the lower teams and carling cup etc. But i expect someone of higher stature to be the main AM not sure who Alex has lined up but there is someone i have no doubt about that.

To United Till I Die 1987

Do you think there is still a chance of the Sneijder deal happening then? What's the latest?

Andy B

Yes is the simple answer, there is always still a chance, problem is there's very little resale value on the player so 30-35 million plus 200,000 + wages a week is not in United's price range. If he was to lower it to say 170,000 a week then yes it will happen. Also his wife could be a minor stumbling block too.

i think man utd to bid for lass diarra. A bid in the region of 16 mil would be enough to persiud real madrid to sell and he is then player we ned at the moment with fletcher's ilnes and rafael, ferdinand and vidic are long term injuerd

Believable4 Unbelievable15

Fletcher is training with the squad and is very close to be fully fit. Rio is out for up to six weeks and Vidic could return on Monday. Not sure why buying Lassana Diarra has any bearing on our centre-backs being injured.

I was at a charity gala night on thursday in dunfermline (an evening with sir alex) and he was asked how fletcher was doing. his response was that he was back in training and would play in the reserve game on monday. He also said that he had put the weight that he had lost due to the virus back on and was looking in much better shape. Will be good to have him back as he s a big game specialist and we ve got plenty of those coming up.

Really hope we sign a central midfielder before the window closes - sneijder, nasri or even modric would do for me. Sneijder being first choice.

You can see the media have it in for de gea already and are praying that he fails. He ll be a top keeper for us, just hope the fickle fans and media have patience.

We need a holding midfielder , buy not Diarra. Why people think Real cast offs are good enough for United I'll never know. A bid for Tiote of New castle for £15m is far more like it
