Not sure how accurate this is, but some reports saying the initial fee for RVP is just £15m.

Telegraph's Mark Ogden who has great United links has said it's an initial £15m, with further payments based on Van Persie’s appearances, goals and silverware won as a United player. It could end up at £22m, although Arsenal are convinced it could go to £24m.

So £15m for RVP initially, £2m for Powell initially and £12m for Kagawa initially is money well spent IMO.

Who's saying that? I'm literally scouting the net to find any decent sourced figure and it is all guess work from what I'm seeing. My guess work is £20m including add ons will be the fee. £18m initial (over the odds from what we said) and £2m on lots of other incentive based payments. I think both clubs get what they want with that.

Of course that's merely my speculation and opinion

Just can't understand how people rave about the Mexican! He's as poor as Rooney and RVP are good. I hope he goes, but I doubt we'd get more than 8-10m on him and then to a team with a blind coach.

What does everyone think will happen to Welbeck and Chicharito now that it has been confirmed that Van Persie has signed. Berbatov will definitely have to be sold before the end of the month, will get no playing time at all.

It will be a rotation yes vp n rooney will be our 1st choice but welbeck is vry promising and will get games along with hendendez

Keep both of them for Carling Cup, Euros and easy PL games. Also Rooney and RVP tend to pick up injuries so good solid cover. Also it will be good for them both to learn from the best. Cheerio Berba and Macheda.

I believe Hernandez is under pressure now and is effectively 4th choice. If Henriquez doesn't go out on loan it will add more pressure.

Spurs are desperate for a striker but I think Hernandez may get another season with us. He has to improve his touch and play with his back to goal but will be useful for bursts in the last 15 minutes when the opposition are tired.

Just before the match starts, keep an eye out for Balzaretti. I'm not sure if we have been linked with him, but he could be a good option at left back for us. He can also play left midfield. I wouldn't mind seeing a bid for him since we are still yet to sign a left back.

Also, delighted at the RVP news. Even if you aren't sure how he will fit in and perform here, its still exciting to see a player of his calibre more or less sign for the club.

Balzaretti has only just signed for roma...

He signed for Roma around £3.75mil a couple of weeks ago. All the cheap left backs going, look at Jordi Alba as well. Evra still has it, just a bad season - saying that Young was hardly helpful with his distribution on the overlpa which meant Evra was consistantly having to chase back.

RVP deal 90% done with a few minor snags to iron out regarding how/when the money is paid between the clubs. RVN, Jaap & VDS all gave RVP a glowing report on life at OT. Henriquez is 99% done and a work permit is being applied for. If this is tricky a 6-12 month loan back may happen or the boy may even go under the wing of OGS at Molde.

Expect loan deals for Bebe & Macheda. Still nothing concrete for Berbatov. The RVP deal looks to be the end of the transfer dealings after Kagawa, Powell and Henriquez but one more deal may go through late as SAF wants a cover for left back.

I will be shocked if Madrid get Modric for £23 million... If that was the case we would of agreed a fee long ago with Spurs as that was below our valuation of him. The ed thinks that we will step up interest in Witsel, it remains to be seen but I hope he is right!

One of the arsenal players has said that RVP wanted a move to Spain and that he was set on a move abroad, the bids haven't materialised and Arsene will not go anywhere near the money he can earn at Man United or citeh, he does not want citeh due to the fact they will not guarantee playing time. His only option is Man United or a massive U turn and about 70% of the wages from Arsenal.

This isn't speculation and has come from the emirates dressing room from an English player.

Ita more o a case that the situation that has been engineered for a move to Spain hasn't panned out and now RVP is left with only 2 real options. From what is being spoke about in their dressing room RVP HAS GONE back to Arsene on a couple of occasions regarding money but Arsene won't budge. Man United are looking more and more like his destination but this was not his initial intention or choice, in fact it was never mentioned as an option. I'm not a gooner either just know someone who is related to one of the English players.

I saw this yesterday and i don't know who i feel sorry for Sunderland for putting a 13m bid in for Fletcher or for Wolves turning that sort of money down.

The transfer market right now seems to be all about leverage rather than talent. Steven fletcher is a first 11 player for wolves and championship or not the buying club, selling club, and player know he's guaranteed playing time at either place. Thus his price tag is driven up by wolves. Berb is maybe our 4th 5th or even 6th striker now pending which kids are brought to the first team and transfers. Everyone knows utd want to get rid of him and regardless he is going to sit on the bench, bringing his price way down. Your not gonna pay 10million for a player you know the selling club doesn't want or need.

Monk - Berbflop has only ever had one prolific season, full stop. For Tottenham he scored a few but hardly ever in the league. The majority of his goals came in cup games

RVP not playin in the dutch freindly today the international coach has spoken to RVP an claimed the meetin was One of the best he has ever had wit a player at any stage. If I was this coach how could a meeting wit a player over his club transfer be a good meetin unless RVP stated he wants the united move so he can compete wit the best in the world an have a chance of winning something also helpin his confidence which in return would boost his international career. I believe a fee of £22m has been agreed and rumours have it that a medical is in place for Thursday although these are only rumours.

is RVP really worth it? i personally would prefer Lewandowski. RVP has MAJOR injury problems and is 29. ok he had 1 amazing season but before that no one really cared about him...

The thing is, yes Rvp is expensive and yes, his injury record ain't the best. But he has expierience in the PL and is a goal machine. Granted, lewandowski is cheaper but would not be an instant success.

IMO fergie is probably in his last year of management. Over the last three or four years he has been building a youthful and strong team that will march on when he steps down. Remember, the blue noses only won the league on goal difference and it's the goal difference that fergie is thinking about when he's looking at RVP. Not wages and not age!

Good point, i believe with the amount of money it will take to get rvp (20-25 mil) that amount can be used to easily purchase lewandowski.. he is a much younger player with a bright future but there is the big "EPL RISK" that the player may move to man utd and become a flop

We have enough young players at the club and Fergie always likes to have an experienced good finisher in the squad that has been there and done it. Michael Owen etc. Not only wil Persie bring golas but he will help the younger United players develop their finishing and movement in the box

I remember a young lad that turns out for utd from time to time and he was a promising player but he kept getting injured all the time, his hamstrings were cack and this went on for what seemed like forever, still the club stuck with him as he was/is a great player and I dont think we will ever have another player like Giggs again. RVP has had injury problems but hes never had utd look after him!

Right guys don't shoot the messanger here but I have heard from a friend of my family's that united are considering a moe for Iker munian if Nani is sold. He said that around 25 million euros would get him. He has also told me Madrid's interest in Nani is real. He works in Spain we visit him every year and he is usually accurate he told us after we won the champions leauge that Madrid struck a deal for Ronaldo to sign the following summer and he was right hopefully he is this time too.

The Bilbao score lines were flattering as they completely controlled everything. You can always play out of your skin in one game but two legs is not coincidence. They were much better than us and their midfield controlled everything. If they had better finishing they could have score 5 or 6 goals in each leg. BTW I have watched him for a long time and would sell nani for him any day. The issue is there are other united players who are less of an influence on the team and they will need to go first and not a lot of takers for some these players.

Get £25m in for Nani and I'd be in dreamland.
Invest that £25m on a 19yo better prospect such as Munian and I'd be happier than a pig in sh1t!

Nani has had plenty of time to 'come good' at OT. He is just not good enough.

Nani has mentioned several times that he has a dislike for Ronaldo, and that he finds the comparisons between himself and ronaldo to be a unfair.

I'm fairly sure he doesn't join the same team.

Nani is our best attacking player over the last 2 years he has played a major role in between 30 - 40 % of our goals, throw in the fact he has missed games through injury and that figure is collosal to replace that production would be almost impossible, i like munian but nani's production is only bettered by people like ronnie or messi. I would get rid of rooney first especially after his shocking showing against Basle last year when all he cared about was nipping off after game to get his england ban reduced
