Not sure how accurate this is, but some reports saying the initial fee for RVP is just £15m.

Sydney!

Believable10 Unbelievable11

Telegraph's Mark Ogden who has great United links has said it's an initial £15m, with further payments based on Van Persie’s appearances, goals and silverware won as a United player. It could end up at £22m, although Arsenal are convinced it could go to £24m.

So £15m for RVP initially, £2m for Powell initially and £12m for Kagawa initially is money well spent IMO.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Who's saying that? I'm literally scouting the net to find any decent sourced figure and it is all guess work from what I'm seeing. My guess work is £20m including add ons will be the fee. £18m initial (over the odds from what we said) and £2m on lots of other incentive based payments. I think both clubs get what they want with that.

Of course that's merely my speculation and opinion

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

Not sure why my posts arnt being shown but affraid not Sydney, initial fee is £21 million

PJ

Agree0 Disagree0

According to BBC it is £22.5million with £1.5million add-ons.

George

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope so, because 24 million is a ridiculous sum.

Agree0 Disagree0

The initial fee is indeed £15 million ,don't know how the rest is made up , but i think it would be a good idea to pay it in shares.

Agree0 Disagree0

75 million over 4 yrs with his contract.

New signings this season are Kagawa Vidic Van Persie and hopefully flectcher at some stage. SAF has one more potential lined up. Fergie lovess Carrick and Scholes and has been letting Anderson in.
One more signing and that will be either Witsel or Veloso. Strong links to Porto, and a bid is being weighed up.

Believable12 Unbelievable4

Veloso has signed for his new club this summer. Fletcher will highly unlikely return sadly.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree1

I doubt it will be veloso he's recently joined dynamo kiev

Agree0 Disagree0

Doesn't veloso play for Genoa? I mentioned veloso as a possible signing several months ago as he could also do a job at CB & LB if needed and got slated for it.

Supasub

Agree0 Disagree0

Veloso plays for Genoa and is a shadow of himself 3 years ago

George

Agree0 Disagree0

Powell, henriquez, or were they a figment of my imagination?

nona

Agree0 Disagree0

Actually Veloso signed for Dynamo Kiev THIS summer...come one, man. Get with it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Its funny how the comment has been believed by 9 and unbelieved by 2...shows you how much some fans really know!

Angelo Henriquez confirmed.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Medical for RVP still has to be completed and they still have to agree a contract so i think thats whats gonna happen tomorrow.
James

Agree1 Disagree0

Angelo Henriquez?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes the signing officially announce of rvp and henriquez!

Caolán.

Agree1 Disagree0

Contract was agreed a while back, he's getting £200,000 weekly after tax. I for one am worried about our wage bill going forward. Busbys cat.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rvp has done a u turn most probably ha

Agree0 Disagree0

Berba leaving. . That's being announced tomorrow.. sad to see him go hope he does well

Corks Red Rebel

Agree0 Disagree0

Van the man and rooney up front together.can any one stop us????

Agree0 Disagree0

To the person who says Van Persie is on £200,000 after tax, are you mad? That would mean he gets £400,000 gross. Van Persie doesn't even get 200,000 gross a week mate, he's on about £170,000 before tax. Get a grip!

James.

What number do you think RVP will get?

9 if Berbaflop leaves or?

Cban

Believable9 Unbelievable4

Rvp a triator

Agree0 Disagree1

Do not call him berbaflop!!!

i love dimi ;(

Agree2 Disagree0

I am not sure I was hoping maybe Rooney got 7, RVP 10 and Welbeck 9

Agree1 Disagree1

When Hargreaves signed he was given the number 4 shirt before heinze left. Maybe a similar situation with rvp and the number 9 jersey?

Philiphs93

Agree0 Disagree0

Berbatov has never been a flop his goals record is very good and technical ability the best at OT.Anyone who says that has no grasp of what football is all about.

Agree1 Disagree0

Berba isnt a flop i love the guy alone for scoring a hatrick v liverpoo! top scorrer when we last won the league no flop!

Anybody (or eds) know anything about Hernandez requesting to be transfer listed? French sports journo tweeted this not so long ago.

Seemed fairly legit Fron the look of other tweets too. Id be gutted if he left

Great news on RVP. Him and Rooney will hopefully hit it off straight away.

Andy IoM

Believable6 Unbelievable20

Hernandez told manunited.com he wants to win treble this year so I doubt it.

Caolán.

Agree1 Disagree0

I was just thinking, Chicharito knows he's not as good as Rooney, Welbeck and RVP. He's been playing rubbish so far.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree1

Cant confirm or deny but its unlikely...he didnt play in the olympics because fergie wanted him to have a good rest before the season......also he's away on international duty at the moment so doubt he has done so without talkin wit the manager!

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't think he'll be going anywhere Andy, the lad seems happy to have any role in the squad. I see him a an impact player like solksjaer :)

Toby -- also on the IOM :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Just can't understand how people rave about the Mexican! He's as poor as Rooney and RVP are good. I hope he goes, but I doubt we'd get more than 8-10m on him and then to a team with a blind coach.

I don't understand people's complaints. This summer we've signed the bundesliga player of the year and epl player of the year... That's surely a step in the right direction for all the glazer haters

Fagan

Believable20 Unbelievable8

Fagan

It's a step and one I am pleased at. The big one for me is the midfield and I await to see what they do next.
As to the Glazers I will not forgive them for putting the future of our club in peril no matter who they sign. One player does not make them good owners

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

Kagawa wasn't player of the year {Ed004's Note - Kagawa was Bundesliga player of the year}

Agree0 Disagree0

Glazer haters? Every single proper die hard fan should be a Glazer hater. All the muppets and clowns who don't get the History of United and the dire financial situation we are in can shut up. The Glazers are spending other people's money therefore why don't we just put a bid in for £100m for Messi? It's not their cash anyway!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Why do people think that because we've signed two good players we should all thank the glazers! They are bleeding our club dry, just about to take more money out of the club and we're still stradled with debt! They could bring back Ronaldo and buy Messi and id still oppose what they've done to our football club!
Andy B

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm certainly no glazer fan but they aren't exactly bleeding the club dry, value of the club has doubled, we are saddled with a debt but there has been a massive upturn in revenue and we are now the most valuable sports club in the world. Whatever you say about the glazers you've got to admire their economic abilities, wish my business was as successful. At least we don't have a sugar daddy who will raise the wage bill then bugger off leaving the club in free fall

Now that we acquired RVP. What happens to Berba's future? I haven't heard any clubs chasing him down.

Believable4 Unbelievable4

He will go, give it time! Probably on deadline day! Carl

Agree0 Disagree0

Russian clubs are interested, just a problem with the timing, i think he will be off at the Xmas window. Just do the same as last year until then, hopefully no injuries but we have strength in depth now.

Agree0 Disagree0

He will be gone by the deadline. RVP will probably get his number. Although RVP would have been worthy of the No. 7 shirt had they not already handed it out.

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2012 20:23:50
What does everyone think will happen to Welbeck and Chicharito now that it has been confirmed that Van Persie has signed. Berbatov will definitely have to be sold before the end of the month, will get no playing time at all.

Barca Devil

Believable8 Unbelievable3

Welbeck will be fine, Chicha should be worried IMO.

Red Joe

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney, RVP, Chicha and Welbeck will all get PLENTY of game time this season, rotating as perhaps the best strikeforce in the league!

RED_SKY

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Berb will move to St Petersburg this week. Kiko will be sold too.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

It will be a rotation yes vp n rooney will be our 1st choice but welbeck is vry promising and will get games along with hendendez

Agree0 Disagree0

Keep both of them for Carling Cup, Euros and easy PL games. Also Rooney and RVP tend to pick up injuries so good solid cover. Also it will be good for them both to learn from the best. Cheerio Berba and Macheda.

Agree0 Disagree0

I believe Hernandez is under pressure now and is effectively 4th choice. If Henriquez doesn't go out on loan it will add more pressure.

Spurs are desperate for a striker but I think Hernandez may get another season with us. He has to improve his touch and play with his back to goal but will be useful for bursts in the last 15 minutes when the opposition are tired.

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

Hernandez could be used as the super sub a new baby faced assassin

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Aug 2012 20:16:49
So we are four players stronger than last season:

Kagawa
Cleverely
Vidic
Van Persie

Just need a CM and a LB now.

Sydney!

Believable14 Unbelievable7

Yes and don't forget Powell.
Having Scholes for a whole season will help too and a fit Ando and Flercher. We also had Valencia out for a little while last year too. But most importantly, a constant CB pairing will be a massive bonus to us.
Would love a tackling midfielder brought in so that we can allow all of these attackers to do what they do best.

melwing28

Agree0 Disagree0

We did have Clevs and Vidic till about Nov! Just need a left back now to cover Evra :)

DodgyBanter

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd, what is your opinion on Witsel signing?? Ed 002 said our interest is gaining momentum and what LB do you think we'll be looking at?? I presume we'll have to offload before more come in or.........??

Nababs Son :)

Agree0 Disagree0

YES!!!!

I'm about to post in banter, with a mouth full of black feathers.....

....also, if we signed both a CM and a LB, we'd be set for YEARS. One would be decent!

RED_SKY

When you look at that list its bloody frighting. Excited about this season a little bit extra than normal.

Believable5 Unbelievable3

This is my first time posting in about five years of following this great website i know the doubts are there about rvp s fitness and age but isnt this the first time in those years we ave gone out on a limb said we want this player and fought of all the big teams and got our man and not because of money because he wants to play for man utd in fergie we trust lets not forget what a great club we are!!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just before the match starts, keep an eye out for Balzaretti. I'm not sure if we have been linked with him, but he could be a good option at left back for us. He can also play left midfield. I wouldn't mind seeing a bid for him since we are still yet to sign a left back.

Also, delighted at the RVP news. Even if you aren't sure how he will fit in and perform here, its still exciting to see a player of his calibre more or less sign for the club.

RedDevil19

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Balzaretti has only just signed for roma...

Agree0 Disagree0

He signed for Roma around £3.75mil a couple of weeks ago. All the cheap left backs going, look at Jordi Alba as well. Evra still has it, just a bad season - saying that Young was hardly helpful with his distribution on the overlpa which meant Evra was consistantly having to chase back.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nearly sure he signed for Roma

He signed for Roma LESS than two weeks ago for 4m. COME ONE MAN! Get with the program.

RVP deal 90% done with a few minor snags to iron out regarding how/when the money is paid between the clubs. RVN, Jaap & VDS all gave RVP a glowing report on life at OT. Henriquez is 99% done and a work permit is being applied for. If this is tricky a 6-12 month loan back may happen or the boy may even go under the wing of OGS at Molde.

Expect loan deals for Bebe & Macheda. Still nothing concrete for Berbatov. The RVP deal looks to be the end of the transfer dealings after Kagawa, Powell and Henriquez but one more deal may go through late as SAF wants a cover for left back.

Deep Background.

Believable5 Unbelievable4

If Henriquez has to go on loan wouldn't they send him to Holland or Belgium???

Modric's imminent move to Real Madrid, means that Madrid's interest in Axel Witsel has cooled. This leaves the door wide open for Manchester United to swoop in with a bid of £30m. However, Sir Alex will need to sell 'fringe' players like Berbatov in order to raise the necessary funds.

Believable9 Unbelievable3

I wish we could do a psg tonite....adofo red

Why would we pay 30m for him when real are getting modric for less than 25m and barca potwntially buying song for 15m?

Real have agreed a £23.5million fee for Modric, why havent we tried to sign him if hes going for that sort of price ?

L.A.7

Believable6 Unbelievable6

Because he wants to go to Spain...

T0MB0Z

Agree0 Disagree0

Moving up to £27.5m but still I think he may have helped our cause. But at least Cleverly will get more games.

Red Joe

Agree0 Disagree0

Because modric was keen for a move to madrid

Agree0 Disagree0

He was aware of our interest, but wanted the RM move. It has nothing to do with the money.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Is this for real?! and to think they were asking us for 40 million, thats such a shame we didnt sign him up with RVP but I feel as long as we add one midfielder, maybe a younger LB and weve got number 20 hopefully!:)
U.T.I.D

Agree0 Disagree0

He wanted Real Madrid plus Spurs would have wanted more money from an English club with them being in direct competition in the same league

BONEYJOE

Agree0 Disagree0

Because madrid and barca get players for a lot less than other clubs.its a joke.spanish clubs are brke because of the recession and therefor dont pay the required prices and still get the player.barca and madrid used to funded by the spanish banks!if joe allen costs liverpool 15 mill how can song only be going to barca for 14?its a disgrace how madrid and barca get away wit it

Agree0 Disagree0

Because Mournho is the only other manager in the world who can get whatever player he wants.

Sammy_THEREDDEVIL

Before you start wetting your pants,you scored 89 goals in league last year,me thinks the reason you didnt win league is your defence/midfield which is ageing as much as old red nose,happy gunner 24 million and 200k a week for about 70 games over 4 years. {Ed007's Note - How's those sour grapes tasting mate?}

Your right Sydney, him along with our trophy back. Fergie must know its my birthday. {Ed007's Note - Happy birthday.}

Fantastic news- and a good deal for both parties imo. Arsenal get top dollar and we get a potential legend!

This is an outstanding deal. People complained about not signing a top superstar, and now have complained now that we have. This is Untied, where top young stars are consistently developed from within and when the need arises, the very best players in the world come to experience the Theater Of Dreams.

What type of player is Henriquez, I know hes attacking but is he more of a CAM rather than a ST or the other way round? Also is he likely to be loaned out or brought into the set up straight away? Cheers.

Welsh Dragon

Believable2 Unbelievable1

Striker with pace, good control and a top finisher. Reminds me of David Villa.

G.A.G.U.S

Agree0 Disagree0

Well with the signing of RVP, then I guess loaned out, but he has said if he is loaned out he would like to go back to universidad de chile, which is fair enough. and yes, from what I have seen he is an out and out striker who is there to score goals, something we dont have, as welbeck seems to like playing CF along with the rest of our 1st team players, hernandez is a striker but not at our standards, he'd be better in a mid table team, he'd be a player like Jelavic is for Everton.

Jake F

Agree1 Disagree0

Striker, plays best as a lone one. Most likely to go on loan, most likely back in Chile.

Agree0 Disagree0

He his very quick and can hit hit a ball and can play both wings and skillfull

Modric is signing for madrid tomorrow for 23m. So thats him out of the window! Could this mean fergie pushes through a move for Witsel?

DanB

Believable12 Unbelievable6

Manutd agree fee for van persie it on the manutd web page go read it for yourself

Agree0 Disagree0

I will be shocked if Madrid get Modric for £23 million... If that was the case we would of agreed a fee long ago with Spurs as that was below our valuation of him. The ed thinks that we will step up interest in Witsel, it remains to be seen but I hope he is right!

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

I also heard something along those lines. If true, what a bargain for those conniving g1ts. How do they and Barca seem to dictate who they buy and for how much. We try to do the same but never manage it.

Would have been an amazing signing for us, especially in that price range

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason madrid n barca get players for cheap is coz players aspire to play for those clubs an to push a deal through the player has to want to join the said club if wigan bid 50m for song n song wasnt interested the deal doesnt happen, modric wanted madrid not us end of.

marlow

Agree0 Disagree0

And therefore Real and Barca happily abuse their privileged position and screw the selling club by offering less than its wants for a player it didn't want to sell in the first place! Huge clubs with great histories, but not so classy.

Sly Sports seem to be saying whatever they want. They were saying that we are well below Arsenal's valuation and that Arsenal will pretty much not be selling to any PL club, especially us. However, they do seem to be saying that talks may have happened between SAF and Arsenal, although it is only according to reports.

To be honest, I'm not convinced by what they are saying.

Ed002 or whoever, is there any clarity at all that can be put on what they've said?

Thanks

SK {Ed002's Note - There have been talks and the bottom line is pay up what they want for the player if MU want him.}

big news newcastle star taoite is subject of 10mill bid from manutd berbertov also mentioned in deal watch this space

Believable14 Unbelievable13

Do you think Berba would be happy to transfer to a new team only to sit on the bench again?! Unless Ba or Cisse moves to the wing, I can't see this one happening.

I haven't seen enough of Tiote to comment, there is mixed comments on here. His tackling and energy would free up the others to move forward!?

Happy to be wrong on all counts!

RedDub

Agree0 Disagree0

Do Newcastle really need another striker? Can't see Berbatov being a make-weight from that perspective or that he'd move there - they pay some silly wages in comparison to others in that tier though so that's maybe why it has mileage.

Agree0 Disagree0

This would be a good deal for us. Would free up heavy wages, bring in the holding player that we really need.
This would let us attack while knowing we have someone sitting back, plus Tiote long range shooting isn't the worst either.

melwing28

This would be nice! Tiote has already stated that he is not interested in leaving though, however I guess anyone can be won over. Can't see Berba wanting to go there though

One of the arsenal players has said that RVP wanted a move to Spain and that he was set on a move abroad, the bids haven't materialised and Arsene will not go anywhere near the money he can earn at Man United or citeh, he does not want citeh due to the fact they will not guarantee playing time. His only option is Man United or a massive U turn and about 70% of the wages from Arsenal.

This isn't speculation and has come from the emirates dressing room from an English player.

Nothing that you probably don't already know but thought I'd share as this supports some of the paper talk an gossip.

Believable11 Unbelievable10

So united r the last resort? Just going for the money

Yeah yeah are u a gunner fan...... or should we say the leagues feeder team

"This isn't speculation and has come from the emirates dressing room from an English player" Hmmm who could that be?

What? Aresenal have a English player in their team? T45

I think RVP will go elsewhere, shame as I would have loved to have seen Rooney RVP up top

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilshire, Gibbs so many to choose from

Agree0 Disagree0

Unamed respondant...

Going for the money?? If it was for the money then why not join the blue half of Manchester?

He wants to join the red half "apparently" thus why Mancini gave up chasing him.

It's clearly not just about the money now is it?

Monk

Agree0 Disagree0

Ita more o a case that the situation that has been engineered for a move to Spain hasn't panned out and now RVP is left with only 2 real options. From what is being spoke about in their dressing room RVP HAS GONE back to Arsene on a couple of occasions regarding money but Arsene won't budge. Man United are looking more and more like his destination but this was not his initial intention or choice, in fact it was never mentioned as an option. I'm not a gooner either just know someone who is related to one of the English players.

When Rooney and RVP link up they will know as 'FATMAN & ROBIN'

what i dont undestand is why a team is willing to pay 13 million for steven fletcher but no one will pay 6 to 8 million for berbatov

Believable31 Unbelievable8

Age and wage.

Agree2 Disagree0

Wages...

Agree1 Disagree0

Not sure about the Wage issue?

You would offset that by the cheaper purchase price especiall given you would only sign him to a 3-4 year contract max.

Age shouldn't be an issue he is still by far one of the most echnically gifted players in the prem.

Swansea would do weel to sign him IMO

Monk

Agree0 Disagree0

Because he is lasy, an awful player and not played seriously for over a year 6m get a grip

Agree1 Disagree5

Probably due to the fact that Berba earns in access of 100 grand a week and Fletcher earns about 20 grand a week.

Simmo

Agree0 Disagree1

Un-named poster? Who do you support? You clearly have no clue about football if you seriously believe he is an awful player.

If he was say at Arsenal, Swansea, And soon to be liverpool due to he change of style... He'd be prolific. The guy ouses Class.

Ye she may not run alot but with his technical ability in a passing build up team he would be emmense.

At OT we are counter attack specialists and like to play quick football which just does not suit Berba's style.

Monk

Agree1 Disagree0

I saw Berbatov at Wembley v City in the FA Cup, and he missed two chances, the one with the goal open, two yards out.

He hardly played after that. not fit to wear the shirt, sad, as he is talented.

Agree0 Disagree0

An awful player?!?!?! what a brainless comment, must be a city fan

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw this yesterday and i don't know who i feel sorry for Sunderland for putting a 13m bid in for Fletcher or for Wolves turning that sort of money down.

Football has went crazy if they think he is worth 15m.

We can surely get at least 10m for berbatov then, i know wages will probably be the main issue but im sure a number of clubs can put together an attractive package.

Agree0 Disagree0

Never really lived up to his 30m price tag ......if his shorts had pockets, his hands would be in them for 85 mins per game, other 5 mins would be picking his ar$$e, get him out of ot and bring in the new.

Agree0 Disagree0

The transfer market right now seems to be all about leverage rather than talent. Steven fletcher is a first 11 player for wolves and championship or not the buying club, selling club, and player know he's guaranteed playing time at either place. Thus his price tag is driven up by wolves. Berb is maybe our 4th 5th or even 6th striker now pending which kids are brought to the first team and transfers. Everyone knows utd want to get rid of him and regardless he is going to sit on the bench, bringing his price way down. Your not gonna pay 10million for a player you know the selling club doesn't want or need.

Agree0 Disagree0

Monk - Berbflop has only ever had one prolific season, full stop. For Tottenham he scored a few but hardly ever in the league. The majority of his goals came in cup games

Eds, just wondering what the situation is with Alvaro Pereira? Not necessarily in relation to United but is a move to the PL a likely one? Quality left sided player.

Andy {Ed004's Note - I haven't heard of anything regarding him}

Chelsea are the only premier league club thus far to have any public known interest in him, however i believe that if there is any other team that will show intrest it will come from spurs...

RVP not playin in the dutch freindly today the international coach has spoken to RVP an claimed the meetin was One of the best he has ever had wit a player at any stage. If I was this coach how could a meeting wit a player over his club transfer be a good meetin unless RVP stated he wants the united move so he can compete wit the best in the world an have a chance of winning something also helpin his confidence which in return would boost his international career. I know I'm just assuming this an that but the coach wants this resolved before the next international game . Who had Thursday for RVP to sign .............not me ........... This is a story iv read an not made up although someone else probably made it up if not can some one confirm

CAIN

Believable13 Unbelievable4

Might be to avoid potential injury too?

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes this story is on Sky Sports Transfer Centre News.
I believe a fee of £22m has been agreed and rumours have it that a medical is in place for Thursday although these are only rumours.
Would be an excellent addition to the side as long as he stays injury free otherwise he will cost the club a fortune.

Agree0 Disagree0

Huh? Wont ever get the 10 seconds back in my life for reading this drivel

Agree0 Disagree0

And you wont get the 30 seconds back it took to respond muppet

CAIN

Agree0 Disagree0

Help his confidence? Player of the year and scores 30+ goals doesnt need any confidence boost. There is actual talk that Arsenal have just offered RVP to Barca (where he really wants to go) at a much cheaper price. The Holland coach used to be the Manager at Barca...maybe the "best meeting ever" was him giving advice about a move to spain.

is RVP really worth it? i personally would prefer Lewandowski. RVP has MAJOR injury problems and is 29. ok he had 1 amazing season but before that no one really cared about him...

Believable19 Unbelievable13

When was the last time he got injured and what was the injury?

GDS

Agree0 Disagree0

The thing is, yes Rvp is expensive and yes, his injury record ain't the best. But he has expierience in the PL and is a goal machine. Granted, lewandowski is cheaper but would not be an instant success.

IMO fergie is probably in his last year of management. Over the last three or four years he has been building a youthful and strong team that will march on when he steps down. Remember, the blue noses only won the league on goal difference and it's the goal difference that fergie is thinking about when he's looking at RVP. Not wages and not age!

Toby

Agree0 Disagree0

Good point, i believe with the amount of money it will take to get rvp (20-25 mil) that amount can be used to easily purchase lewandowski.. he is a much younger player with a bright future but there is the big "EPL RISK" that the player may move to man utd and become a flop

Agree0 Disagree0

We have enough young players at the club and Fergie always likes to have an experienced good finisher in the squad that has been there and done it. Michael Owen etc. Not only wil Persie bring golas but he will help the younger United players develop their finishing and movement in the box

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd rather pay the fee for rvp than the fee for moura rvp is established in the premiership he won't need a "settling" in period....its funny how people think that cus he's 29 he ain't worth it but they think 30m+ for a nobody 19yr old who didn't even get on for the Olympics is? Or is it because he looked good on YouTube..Im a season ticket holder and I say spend to get rvp but when I saw we was gonna spend 30 on moura I thought no way.rvp= goals(which Toby stated we only missed out on last season) GGMU FOREVER IN OUR SHADOW

Agree1 Disagree0

Van Persie has looked good for many years. His problem has been constant injuries though unfortunately
Woffsta

Agree0 Disagree0

I remember a young lad that turns out for utd from time to time and he was a promising player but he kept getting injured all the time, his hamstrings were cack and this went on for what seemed like forever, still the club stuck with him as he was/is a great player and I dont think we will ever have another player like Giggs again. RVP has had injury problems but hes never had utd look after him!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah i agree i dont think signing rvp would be a good idea i mean dont get me wrong he had a great season but i would rather bring in a younger striker some one like lewandowski or my personal favourite higuain they would basically cost the same as rvp higuain would cost a little more but he would bring the title back to the red side of manchester

Agree0 Disagree0

One season wonder he only scored everyone created about 200 chances 4 him

Agree0 Disagree0

I trust the manager to make the right call TBH. Also, I'd say RVP was the best out an out striker in the world this past 18 months so I certainly won't be complaining if we do get him. Finally, I'm sure the manager will have given much consideration to his age and previous injury record

Mirror sport exclusive:

RVP is close to a £20m move after official talks began last night between arsenal and united. A deal is said to be pushed through before the opening round of fixtures. Wenger doesn't want to lose him on a free and although SAF has reservations about paying big money for a 29yr old with a chequered injury record Fergie will up the bid. RVP has made it clear Old Trafford is his favoured destination.

Here's to hoping it goes through then and not just made up nonsense.

Right guys don't shoot the messanger here but I have heard from a friend of my family's that united are considering a moe for Iker munian if Nani is sold. He said that around 25 million euros would get him. He has also told me Madrid's interest in Nani is real. He works in Spain we visit him every year and he is usually accurate he told us after we won the champions leauge that Madrid struck a deal for Ronaldo to sign the following summer and he was right hopefully he is this time too.

Caolán.

Believable18 Unbelievable41

Well even if psg and barca , city and chelsea were interested too, nani is simply not for sale!!! They can keep dreaming

Agree0 Disagree0

We all knew ronaldo was madrid bound!

Ste-Utd

Agree0 Disagree0

If True he would be the best signing of the summer including all the ones we supposedly missed. I believe he is outstanding and Bilbao's best player. I pray it is true

Agree0 Disagree0

Love the way that because we got seriously beat by bilbao we have sundenly become interested in the majority of their players there players are no better than ours just performed better on the day and had a good europa leauge competition I can seriously say I hadn't even heard of most of them before they beat us

ARJ

Agree2 Disagree0

Why sell nani? We should sell berbacrap young Anderson macheda before we even consider selling nani.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be a good deal for me

Red Man

Agree0 Disagree0

Well munian is available at 25 million euros and I we got a bid in excess of 25 million of Nani I would accept and sign munian.

Caolán.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think this is 100% accurate, I mean the source works in Spain AND the poster visits him every year.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we should go for munian 25 million euros sounds good to me. play's in maybe the best league in the world week in week out top class player who could become one of the best player's in the world in 3 or 4 year's time. i would have gone for him before lucas moura anyway

Agree0 Disagree0

The Bilbao score lines were flattering as they completely controlled everything. You can always play out of your skin in one game but two legs is not coincidence. They were much better than us and their midfield controlled everything. If they had better finishing they could have score 5 or 6 goals in each leg. BTW I have watched him for a long time and would sell nani for him any day. The issue is there are other united players who are less of an influence on the team and they will need to go first and not a lot of takers for some these players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Get £25m in for Nani and I'd be in dreamland.
Invest that £25m on a 19yo better prospect such as Munian and I'd be happier than a pig in sh1t!

Nani has had plenty of time to 'come good' at OT. He is just not good enough.

Halesini

Agree0 Disagree0

Nani has mentioned several times that he has a dislike for Ronaldo, and that he finds the comparisons between himself and ronaldo to be a unfair.

I'm fairly sure he doesn't join the same team.

Agree0 Disagree0

Nani is our best attacking player over the last 2 years he has played a major role in between 30 - 40 % of our goals, throw in the fact he has missed games through injury and that figure is collosal to replace that production would be almost impossible, i like munian but nani's production is only bettered by people like ronnie or messi. I would get rid of rooney first especially after his shocking showing against Basle last year when all he cared about was nipping off after game to get his england ban reduced

Carryonvending

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree with "Dustbin" .. Berba has been a great servant to the club and I'll be sad to see him leave. The guy has bags of talent but just doesn't suit Fergies playing style.
I wish the guy all the best - at the right club he can get 20+ goals a season easy!
Hallis

Agree0 Disagree0

Ninis has just recently moved to parma, wont move again in this transfer window, based on that i'd assume you've put 2+2 together on the berba part!

KmD

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you will be enlightened to the fact it was Sir Alex's decision to extend his contract for another year not Berbatov's..... If this option was not available then he would pro have gone last summer after being top scorer in the PL, strange but true as he just doesn't fit

Ren

Come on. Have u seen berbacrap work rate? If the ball isn't delivered to his feet he puts his hands up in the air. The guy is laziest player I've seen. And people make excuses that that is his game. Load of rubbish. Sell him but no one wants him. Does that tell u anything?

Agree dustbin, I think SAF has been really harsh on him playing Welbeck ahead of him as well yet he hasn't thrown a tantrum like most players of his quality would.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

If this is the ninis who played for greece in the euros, theres not a chance this is thru, utter useless

Berbastrop?

You Sir, are a joke.

Berbs is a model pro. Conducted himself with integrity throughout despite being treated like doo-doo by United. An excellent ambassador for us at all times.

RedMist

Agree0 Disagree0

Totally bemused with the way we have tread Berbatov - why pay £31m for him and then leave on the bench for 2 years? Obviously a major fall out with SAF, but then we should sell, recoup some money and re-invest surely?
I know we should trust in SAF but this ones a puzzler....

Agree0 Disagree0

To the guy who says no one wants him; my understanding is that three clubs have made enquiries (Gallatasaray, Zenit St. Petersburg and another i forget).

Berbatov has rejected these clubs. The guy has been an excellent player for Utd but has a different game to the way Utd generally play.

I hope he stays in the Premier league 'cos I'd love to see how he does at another club. I reckon Everton or Sunderland would be a good move for him in the UK or a move to Italy would probably suit him better.
