I would like to see Daniel Sturridge at utd. him rooney and herzandez up front gr8 Kaylem1300

Believable10 Unbelievable24

That would be special, sturridge welbeck and rooney for england all day long!

Cban

Agree0 Disagree0

Too wasteful and very very greedy.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturridge would be a great signing. As Syd says at the min is too greedy and wasteful but still only young and has been brilliant playing out of position. Think him and welbeck with rooney behind them would be frightening
SC

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah he's a bit of a glory hunter in front of goal! Besides that'd mean Welbeck wouldn't play as much which would be cr@p.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

Sturridge over Nani or Toni - no way.

Also at the begining of the season wondered if he was better than Welbeck - no am no doubt that Welbeck has developed more and has more potential.

Mike

Agree0 Disagree0

I have to agree with Sydney here, he was the same when he was at Bolton. Then again Nani was like that, taking pointless shots, but now hes' been one of our best players this season

instead of gaitan, what about douglas costa who is younger and would cost only 15 million and man u have looked at him in the past

Believable11 Unbelievable2

Good shout! Not sure if there is still interest there though.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

He's incredible! Not sure if he'll adapt to the EPL but definitely worth a shot at 15 mil.

I have said before that Gaitan would be a good signing, but would be pricey, however do you think we could get the fee down if we go for Javi Garcia as well. Benfica have said that the want to raise £50 million in the summer, so if we went in with a £30 - £35 million joint bid for the two of them, then i think we would stand a better chance of signing them. Cardozo could raise the rest of the cash for them.

How would you feel about the two of them?

RedDevil19 {Ed002's Note - Mannchester United, Arsenal, AC Milan and Bayern Munich have certainly been looking at Javi Garcia but I suspect there may well be a push from Manchester City to bring in Garcia as a replacement fro Nigel De Jong.}

Believable1 Unbelievable1

Ed if that is true what do you think about signing dejong as our holding midfielder {Ed002's Note - I think it unlikely.}

Agree0 Disagree0

15 Feb 2012 17:47:45
I think people should forget about the Kovacic snub rumour too, you remember the rubbish about Gill not giving SAF £10m to buy him? Well, his contract is up in the summer and will be available on a free.

Sydney!

Believable6 Unbelievable1

Is that so? That would probably why he wasn't given the £10 million (if thats at all true). I have said many times that Kovacic will end up with us.

RedDevil19

Agree0 Disagree0

And as people have already told you, RD19, you need to realise it isnt as likely as you think. And just because you like the player doesnt mean he is going to end up here.

Why buy Kovacic when we have Pogba, Tunnicliffe and Petrucci coming through the ranks, think about it fool, just another youngster who we wont see for 2/3 seasons. Doesnt make one bit of sense.

Maybe in a few seasons time he could come in. But i wouldnt count on it, Fergie will be looking at an established midfielder to come in.

MUFC_Devil

Agree0 Disagree0

MUFC_Devil

To be fair mate, Kovacic would go straight into the senior squad at United. He has the physique to cope with the EPL. He can play in the Rooney role or RW, Pogba, Tunners and Petrucci are more centralised.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd, even if he did go straight into the first team, he wouldn't be playing regularly until he has settled into the league. Came from a complete different league, and for you to say with his physicality he could cope is premature. Nobody knows if he is going to cope with it until (if) he makes the move to the EPL. Although SAF must see something in him, i think everybody is jumping on the bandwagon again hyping this guy up, when he could prove to be ineffective in the EPL.

I just dont want another Bebe on our hands.

MUFC_Devil

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont see why people comment on the physicality of the league when the likes of silva and mata are two of the best players in it. It's no longer about how big and strong you are it's a more technical game now and thats what the big teams are looking for.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mata has done very little this season IMO.

I know that people got shot down for saying this yesterday, but i think that firstly, SAF wants a dominant central midfielder (like Yaya Toure - i wish we'd gone for him when he left Barca). I think our first choice would be Martinez, however what are peoples opinion on either Fellaini, Keita or Khedira.

I think each have their merits, obviously my first choice would be Martinez, but Fellaini or Keita would suit us very well. Khedira would also be good but i don't feel that he is as good on the ball.

What are your opinions on this? How would you feel if one of Fellaini, Keita or Khedira came in for us?

RedDevil19

Believable3 Unbelievable6

Gutted if any of them arrived

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you on about barca's keita? why in the world would we sign him hes 32?

Anon

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellaini very very average.
Keita is about 40 now.
Khedira decent signing but we should be aiming for better than him eg Martinez, Wilshere (Worth a bid when Arsenal dont get CL) and Lucas the good Brazilian not the poor one at Liverpool.
SC

Agree0 Disagree0

Yaya Toure didnt leave Barca for football reasons, he went for the money and nothing else, he's exactly what is wrong with modern football and we certainly dont need someone like him in the squad

Flimbo

Agree0 Disagree0

Fellani? NO.
Why is Everton suddenly Man Utd B team?! Feeder club for young talent and grave yard for unwanteds. Rather have no signing and promote Pogba now than sign Fellani.

People can take a look at Gaitan on SS2 in twenty minutes or so away to a tricky St Petersburg. I am not sure if we are going to sign this player, but because folk are talking about him today, perhaps take a closer look on SS2.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I am not so sure there is any more to this than speculation because Benfica need to money. Manchester United and Barcelona both showed interest in the winger but PSG or Napoli may be the first to eventually put an offer on the table. Asking price is and will be an issue. My understanding is that Manchester United and PSG did speak with Benfica but no bid was made.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Thanks Ed, I am not convinced United would pay £25m for Gaitan, when there are better players for similar prices.

so sydney do you think gaitan is good enough for united then?

Believable5 Unbelievable7

What I believe is 'IF' the manager pays a lot of money for him, then who are we to question him? Players will become better players under new managers/teams and if the manager and his scouting staff have seen something in Gaitan that they believe they can develop into a world-class talent, then who are we to question it? Perhaps 'IF' we do sign him we should give him a season and then judge him, and the manager's decision to buy him?

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

To be honest, i doubt united scouts..after all they thought Babe, Obertan, Macheda, Anderson(he is not that good)..They scouting team thought these lads had huge potential and would develop under united staff. But what was the end result.

If we are spending huge money then i would rather say lets get Hazard, Eriksen, Martinez, Gotez...Or else Cleverley is good...give pogba more chance. Allow they youth to participate..

Plz no Gaitan.

DC_9

Agree0 Disagree0

I not a big fan of Gaitan , not saying his a bad player but i think there are better player especially if we are talking 25 +
is it true that mendes is his agent
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

DC_9 you are a d*ck. You happily forget Ronaldo, Hernandez, picked up Pogba, the twins, Evra, Vidic. I wouldn't say we have the best scouts in the world, no, but to doubt their knowledge is ridiculous. They get paid for their knowledge, where as clearly no club has snapped you up for scouting talent. Hand your CV in then if your better than them.

On Gaitan himself, he is a talented footballer and I won't throw my toys out the pram if we get him, heck, I'd even be happy. To say Im wouldn't be dissappointed we didnt spend the money (if led to believe it will be 25m) on some of the other options, would be a lie.

Sanshine

Agree0 Disagree0

'DC_9'

Kiko, Obertan & Bebe would have not cost the club more than £7m, in fact we would probably break even once all of them are sold off, so they are not a risk and not anything like similar to Gaitan. Gaitan is almost the finished article, he would be a better player in a better team. Both Barcelona and PSG want him, City want him.

I think Eriksen with all of the talking regarding him has to be a possibility, but it's down to the player. If he wants to go to Spain then SAF may not pursue him.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

What i mean is,..if spending somewhere near to £25M, why not try to persuade Hazard,...definitely he will be the best possible call.
Gaitan, i dont think he is what we really need.

@Sanshine u r a Pu$$y then, I m sure if we do buy Gaitan and if he under performs u will be one of those pussy`s who will blame the Management.

DC_9

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd is right who are we to question SAF's transfers, so long as we are investing? Which one of us would have chosen Hernandez last yr? Or Smalling 6 months earlier? Or even Vidic when he arrived?

There are many reasons for a player being suited or not, including style of play, age, cost, even down to their personality or whether they have an ego or not

Surely SAF is better placed to make such calls, so I personally will be happy so long as he invests in key areas of the squad

I mean...If we get Gaitan, Im not guna get pissy about not getting Hazard because I'm sure it wouldnt be because SAF hadnt heard of him!

I think Yann M'Villa is likely to be a signing along with Gaitan in the summer, add to that list Benatia and i think that could make up our summer.

I for one would love to see M'Villa here as he is strong, able and is not too shabby on the ball either!

Daily Star reporting that Benatia has issued a 'come and get me' call.... On another note Scholes hints he's ready for anothe year.... HERBIE

Believable5 Unbelievable1

Yeh I issued a 'come and get me call' when I was 18 and playing for a local side but never heard anything back. Non story. Scholsey staying another year could be a double edged sword as it might delay badly needed CM signings.

So, Scholes wants to join Giggs in staying on for another season next year.

I'm biting my tongue and refusing to go off on a rant. But I can safely say, forget Gaitan, forget Eriksen, and forget any other transfer target being mentioned.

"It's like two new signings", as we'll undoubtedly be told. Well, like two new signings that didn't cost anything, ideal situation then.

Reports Mehdi Benatia says United is his "dream move". Brilliant to hear a top class player, has top class taste. Would love for us to sign him.

YankSAW

Believable8 Unbelievable3

If there's a place for a squad defender, then I'd be happy with Benatia.

However, if we sign him for about £8million or something and re-sign Scholes for a year - then SAF and Gill claim we've strengthened the squad, it would be hard to take on board.

RED_SKY

Agree0 Disagree0

'RED_SKY'

You need to curb your pessimism, Scholes and Giggs are very very good squad players. We will still need a midfielder and we will get one in the summer.

Sydney!
