Eds, quick question. Out of the three touted destinations (Man Utd, stay at Chelsea or LA Galaxy) where do you see Lampard playing his football next season? Thanks in advance.

Fresh! {Ed007's Note - Out of those three I would say Chelsea.}

Anderson? Looking to move away? Sly being clever with quotes? Or just after more money? You decide!

IHaveNoName!

Believable7 Unbelievable2

I think it's Sly being clever with quotes to make a story. He's had enough injuries over the years to make him think about his future and could have reasonably left if he had wanted to but SAF has kept him for a reason.

I'm a big supporter of Ando when he can keep his fitness. Shame he's never seen out his potential at OT

Aj

Agree0 Disagree0

I think he wants to play more and it's never going to happen at ManU. He'll always be a squad player. Injuries has been the reason he's never become a regular and maybe a fresh start somewhere else may bring some luck to his career. Look at what Balotelli has done since going back to Italy.

I hope he stays though. He's talented and if he gets through his injuries he could see lots more playing time.

Does anybody know if the quotes off Anderson stating he wants to leave old Trafford and has tried many times are true? Not that I would be sad to see the back of him but I do think of he can stay injury free and knuckle down he could be one hell of a player for us. Thoughts eds? Anybody?
Trickee

Believable21 Unbelievable6

Apparently he wants Porto but Porto are unwilling to match his current wages.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit of out the blue isn't it? he always has a smile on his face at training and stuff, so pretty unexpected to me. who would we replace him with? strootman? wanyama? difficult one, but if a player wants to move on, there's no point in keeping him. I just hope what he actually did say has been blown out of proportion. seems weird that a team that could be so fruitful this year, is going to see a lot of change in the summer eg. nani, ando, fletch? scholes? giggis? maybe even a few more

Elvis

Agree0 Disagree0

I saw this too, my thoughts were he was happy and I read a statement from him around a week ago saying 'no one at united can take their place for granted' and he carried on to say something on the lines of him being very happy at a big club like United?

Seems strange if this is what he said, if this us the case then he's kissed his chances of playing regularly goodbye.

Hope its not true as I've always liked Andersons type of drive on the field.

Safwetrust87

Agree0 Disagree0

I will happily drive him whereever he wants to go.
obviously doesn't even rate himself if he's happy to be a squad player at best.

Agree0 Disagree1

I like his style of play; but if he's not happy get some cash quick and get players who would bite his hand of for the chance to play for Utd.

Ricwalker77

Agree0 Disagree0

We all know that before 2 seasons he tried to make his move to porto when he was not getting playing time. But it failed. Then he also ran to his homeland brazil for which he had bn fined. That didn't work either.
Things have changed now. He commands much respact and love from his manager and coaches. And he finally is looking like fulfilling his potential.

Rodio17

Agree0 Disagree0

Anderson wants to leave? Is it Christmas already?

Ironic that this is one season where he's actually shown he can play but there are surely better more consistent midfield options out there.

Halesini

Agree0 Disagree0

From what I have heard, he had said that he had tried to leave 'many times' but these were unsuccessful.
i don't think he ever mentioned he was wanting out now just he had done in the past.
it is prob the media giving that impression as would seem very odd anderson making such comments now, surely if he was wanting out they would have come a few months ago or closer to summer

I wish people wouldn't write off our players! Kagawa is in his first season, doesn't speak the language and has recently had a injury. Give him time to settle and in a year or 2 then make up your mind. What's sad the same people will be saying he's amazing if he scores a hat trick next week!

Get behind the players and encourage them, not slate them at every opertunaty! Not every player walks into a team like United's and is instantly world class but from what I've seen of him at Dortmund he certainly has the potential. Bit of time and understanding of how United and he could be great!

Believable54 Unbelievable3

Agree and Kagawa is still only 23! You can see his class. If some people's opinions were like this and players left within 6 months then what would have happened to the likes of Evra and Vidic both of which didn't set the world alight straight away.

Supasub

Agree1 Disagree0

I think Kagawa played well on wednesday in the first half. Just needs some more time to settle into things and he will be amazing imo.

Agree1 Disagree1

Well said, we will see a better Kagawa next season IMO. It's no wonder he's taking a while to impose himself considering he's moved countries, can't speak the language, been injured and worst of all - we haven't worked out how best to utilise him yet. I hope the manager figures it out and with time I'm confident he will become a very nifty player for us.

'All you hear is, Shinji Kagawa'

Agree0 Disagree0

Glad this post got support Kagawa is a brilliant player great skill and even great players need time to settle next season and maybe some of this season which ain't over yet we will see some better performances, I for one was over the moon when we got him and nothing has changed also I have a feeling he could be joined by one of his fellow country men Yuto Nagatomo is one of the finest wing backs in the world and would fit right in at united I have a gut feeling its between Baines and him to be our new left back. Kagawa is world class, his passing is inch perfect and he is always attacking and going forward, he's also prepared to track back and put in a shift, the only problem is our other midfielders are not as good as him and can't keep up with his fast pass and move play but as he settles, gets a few games under his belt and gels with the team he will form a frightening midfield. The best is yet to come.

personally I think kagawa is class on wednesday he hadnt much chance cause he didn't see much of the ball he's a great player he just needs time plus I think the injury has put him back a bit but think if played in the right position can be brilliant!redwill

Redken, you are joking right?

so he is playing crap because the rest of our team are not as good as he is?

I agree with the original post but come on if Liverpool had bought him you would all be saying how crap he is and a waste of money.

EkD

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not forget Kagawa is playing out of position most of the time let alone injuries, language barrier, settling in UK and not least moving to the greatest club in the world! Jesus I'd still be asking for Rooney's autograph in training at this stage! Give him time.

Halesini

Agree0 Disagree0

There is no doubt in his ability, anyone who thinks he's not good enough need to think again and fast! He's got fantastic vision and his one touch passing, one-twos are probably one of the best in our entire squad.

He used to play at Dortmund where they mainly counter attacked so he's used to running onto balls or turning and running with much fewer defenders, usually out of position too as opposed to a solid well organised defence which is what you tend to find in the PL. He will be a major player in our team within the next few seasons have no doubt about that.

Morning all,

A lot the stories going around this week surround a certain Gareth Bale, and some are also speculating where his next step might be. I think it's an interesting debate, and put it out there for comment. My thoughts are as follows:

Barcelona - Not entirely sure if Barca want him or indeed need him with the quality of youth currently coming through their ranks.

Madrid - Would Bale be happy being No. 2 behind Ronaldo, as Ronaldo currently sits in that Left Hand spot in an attacking 3, which is likely to be Bale's preferred position. Could Benzema leave making Ronaldo the central attacking figure, and have Bale to the left of him? Let's not forget that they are very similar in respect to the 'spaces' they play in.

PSG - I'm not convinced that Bale would be attracted to this move currently. The French league is not particularly strong.

Chelsea - Possibly? He could fit in, and I'm not entirely sure where with Oscar, Mata, Ramires, etc. already in there?

United - Think price might be a stumbling block for us, and our history with Levy will be a major issue.

Citeh - Unfortunately the most likely location in my opinion. They can offer him silly wages, 1st team football and Levy can name his price almost.

Thoughts and comments welcome as always.

WF Red Devil {Ed002's Note - Right now only one of these clubs has an interest in Bale.}

Believable3 Unbelievable11

First off this is a rumours site not an opinion site. Secondly due you have any tangeable evidence that all the teams you listed have any interest in Bale? There is only 1 of the clubs you mention that have an interest in him and that is Real.
Also becauseof the same 'Spaces' they play in, the play in 1 big wide open space called a football pitch. Do you not think that Ronaldo and Bale cannot start in the same team because Ronaldo starts on the left? Ronaldo spent the first 15mins on the left on Wednesday and that was it, he roamed free after that.
Seriously by all means if it's real rumours load them up and discuss but don't make up the rumour just so it gives you a chance to air your opinion. Dougal Maguire

Apologies Ed002 - just seen below that you've already answered the question of 'who'.

Thanks,
WF Red Devil

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd of thought all of the above clubs would at least make a enquiry if Bale became available or was subject of a solid bid from Madrid? Maybe some interest from Russia aswell?

IHaveNoName!

Agree0 Disagree0

Wow, Dougal Maguire, you have to be the person on here with the arsiest attitude. What is wrong with the original poster airing his opinions. Grow up.

Fresh!

Agree0 Disagree0

If its a real rumour? are you havin a laugh? who are you to tell him what he can and can't post on this site? He's entitled to his opinion just like you! this is a banter page also and a lot of people are speculating on what will happen with Gareth Bale just because you don't like his opinion doesn't give you the right to tell him not to post it! The absolute arrogance of you!

anyway.

Here's my speculative opinion, I don't think Bale will be leaving this summer unless they receive a ridiculous offer and who could blame spurs he's having a great season and if he can keep this form up till the end of the season then a couple of those clubs will be priced out so I think your point is valid because City, Chelsea and PSG have bags of cash and if its a bidding war then I can't see past those 3. Maybe only one club have shown an interest but I think a few of the above clubs will bid in the summer.

Ed which club are you referring too.

CAIN {Ed002's Note - Real Madrid.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, that one club being Madrid?

Am I correct in saying United made a move for Bale in his Southampton days, and he turned us down for Spurs?

A lot of people say SAF isn't a fan of going after players that have previously turned us down, do we think SAF might make another move?

RedDub {Ed002's Note - The interested club is Real Madrid. I have no idea about the rest of it.}

First of all Dougal, I asked for this to be posted in the Banter section rather than the Rumours section, so unfortunately should you have a particular issue as to the location of my post, then I'm afraid you are taking it up with the wrong person.

Second of all, is it a crime to try and start a friendly honest debate, or does all topic need to be purely about someone'd cousins' friends' pet heard this, that and the other. Some of us actually enjoy the discussion and interaction side of this site, as well as the entertainment from just purely readin the posts of others.

And finally, yes you are correct that Ronaldo does indeed float over to both sides, but currently so does Bale. The issue I was raising is that both players seem to favour the left hand side for various reason - so this would potentially mean one of the playing on their unfavoured side potentially.

To conclude if I may, instead of wasting your time by posting unless and un-constructive replies, perhaps you should spend that time trying to understand the original posters thoughts/opinions and then look to offer some constructive feedback.

WF Red Devil

First of all, Dougal, get back in your basket. Secondly, regards Bale, I ONLY see him going to Madrid. The guy has come out and said that he wants a move to Madrid so I expect them to find a way to make the deal happen. He wants to go to Spain but Barcelona won't spend that kind of money on him IMO.

Hi TK-Red,

I'll be honest I've not seen Bale come out and suggest that he favours Madrid. Was this in a interview or something? That changes everything I suppose in a game which is very much player-power orientated.

If that is indeed spot-on, imagine the fear that defenders will have knowing they're facing Bale and Ronaldo together. Actually quite scary to imagine. Add that comination with the guile and vision of Ozil slipping in through-balls for them to feed off, and that's not a bad attack at all!

Perhaps Levy orchastrating a deal where Modric comes back to Spurs on the cheap, as part of some deal isn't perhaps far from what might become reality.

Anyhow, you can keep your Bale's and Ronaldo's of the world. Don't need them when you've got Nani in your ranks! ;-)

All in all - Great replies guys, and always good to bounce ideas and opinions between each other.

Bale didn't choose tottenham over us because owe bid got turned down and two weeks later he went to tottenham I am shore they have a clause that if he moves they will profit if he had come here for the 5m we were offering they would shorly never have got a cut of a sell on profit because there is no up from us but when he gets sold it will be for mega money and they will get a cut and I think of all the teams we are in the best position to sign him our debt is down we have bigger sponsors and we have a habit of getting the best homergrown players over our rivals , does he really won't to move his younge family away from friends and family I doubt it would he like to play for the best and biggest team in the world I would wager it, if Tottenham don't make champions league this season then I think we will get him no matter the cost he is worth it levy always plays hard ball but if SAF really wants the player he will get him. Bale on the left and Ronaldo on the right wing - striker's dream!

Agree1 Disagree0

Why can't he just stay at spurs and drive them into a top team hey? and i'm a united fan!

Agree0 Disagree0

He's said before that he would go to Madrid if they tried to sign him

Agree0 Disagree0

There is absolutely no chance Bale will come to us. We definitely wouldn't pay the 50 or 60 mil they want for him. "NO VALUE IN THE MARKET" as Fergie say's, i'd say the most the club would spend on a player would be between 25 and 35 mil imo.

Keyz

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see Bale at Madrid, I get the impression he needs to be a big fish in a small pond to be happy. He is the number one at Spurs and everyone looks to him, wouldn't be the same at Madrid.

To No-Name above - It would be a strikers nightmare playing with Ronaldo and Bale, you would never touch the ball as they hardly pass it when less than 40 yards out. The only way it could be worse is if you had Nani on the right, Bale on the left and Ronnie floting behind the most under used striker in history - i'd love to see Berbatov as that striker, the strops would be amazing.

Lewandowski looks like a quality player, and it seems as if Bayern might have made a move for him. Even if we could get him, I don't see how he fits in with four strikers already, none of which are leaving in the near future. Shame he'll play for a European rival, but there's a limit to how many strikers one club can play. Been wondering about this for as long as the Lewandowski news/rumors have been going on. -KG

Believable5 Unbelievable2

I am puzzled about the limit of strikers a club can have.
Is there that any rule a club should register a player's position or role in the pitch or if a player registered for one position plays differently is it a offense?
Then what can you say about Barcelona where other than GK every player is a Midfielder
(Puyol and Pique play as high as Carrick and Jones Played against Madrid every game. )

Surely Bales a better option than any winger mentioined? Rodriguez or Bale?
Bale wind hands down. as much as i'd love to see Ronny back at OT Bale would be cheaper both transfer and wages I reckon. and he's 23 so a good 10 years left in him. i'm sure he would be an instant hit and reckon City/Chelski will consider a bid this summer hope something happens on that front.
(no MOTD fever just fact IMO)

ms85 {Ed002's Note - Bale is a target of Real Madrid.}

Believable8 Unbelievable7

Can you see him fitting in ed? and I guess question is will he want to leave the prem? many a star have come unstuck in spain. he won't be the big fish in Madrid {Ed002's Note - I have no idea if Levy would be willing to sell or not. Certainly it will be easier to adapt in Madrid than elsewhere.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I've always been an admirer of Bale and feel he would be a great addition for us. Yeah give me Ronaldo any day but he got to be up there that can improve our team and just looking at the real Madrid game we coudl use with a few more quality signings.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love to see Bale here.

Fresh!

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale would be a fantastic buy at 30m -35m, but no way is he a 50m - 60m player. We need to strengthen our weakest positions above anything else. 2 Midfielders, a left back and a back up goalkeeper are our most necessary buys (Lindergaard just isn't up to it). For me Wanyama, Eriksen, Begovic and Willems would be fine. We have been linked with all these players at one time or another and all could be bought for the price of Gareth Bale.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

I think Bale would fit in fantastically well at Man Utd. As far as Tottenham agreeing a fee for him, I think offering Nani who seems to be surplus to requirments at OT with a fee would go along way to helping that. Give Bale the sweetner of being the next Ryan Giggs and playing a season with his childhood hero. No questions asked he would make the move in MO.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, do you believe Ronaldo will leave this summer?

MPez {Ed002's Note - I doubt that he will given the amount of money he would cost. He is not going to want to head for Anzhi, nor PSG I suspect which means he will likely stay where he is.}

Agree0 Disagree0

We would be Bales prefered desination I am shore of it if Tottenham don't make champions league he will force a move Levy will play hard ball and we will pay a british record and get our man fingers crossed, he would give us what Henry would discribe as va va voom. Katef

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently he's really really close to his family so he'd rather want to stay near them, a lot of people think he could end up in Manchester.

First of all, he makes it obvious that his main idol has always been Giggs purely because of what he's achieved as a Welshman. Wouldn't he love to take up the challenge of filling his boots?

The other thing, would Bale fit into Real Madrid? Shares the same role in the spurs team as Ronnie does in the RM team. I have a feeling he'd prefer to join a team where he is the main man, otherwise he knows it'll be harder to get near the level of Ronaldo/Messi. Just like Sanchez, looked immense then goes and joins Messi then he's overshadowed.

Ozwald

Agree1 Disagree0

I hope so, bale is showing consistent form now. Ronnie is the best, but bale will not be a bad second choice. If we want to compete with the best, then we have to bring in some of the best, and bale fits the bill.
