fergie was at stoke to check out kenwyne jones

Believable15 Unbelievable101

Really!!, .....Or maybe it was to watch Wilfred Zaha! made me chuckle though!

Agree2 Disagree0

No he was not...... I am pretty sure in fact %110 sure he was looking at Tony Pulis as he is considering asking him to sign for United as a centre midfielder so the average age can be reduced.

Agree1 Disagree1

It was for Rory Super Throw Delap

Agree0 Disagree0

Why, do we need someone to make the half time tea.....!

NathanaSe7en

Agree0 Disagree0

It was to watch stokes awsome style of rugby

Agree2 Disagree0

Shawcross - wants him back.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he wanted someone to paint his roof...

So Redknapp confirs QPR will sign M'Vila incredible how can they have such a high wage bill? i Cannot believe no big team has gone for M'Vila it's stupid.

MANRED

Believable11 Unbelievable6

Bad attitude mate that's all

CAIN

Agree0 Disagree0

Stupid?? M'Villa is a clown of a professional.... No decent team is interested as he has a shocking attitude and doesnt care about anything but himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

16 Jan 2013 00:51:44
harry's signed him because he's desperate and willing to over look the personality flaws. In reality he's a bit of a git hence all the big clubs ignoring him. I'm also fairly sure he's moved to london for a, the sure to be fairly hefty wages and b, the chance to put himself in a bigger shop window and earn a bigger move.

Agree1 Disagree1

Funny that! I remember folk saying the same about Cantona and especially CR7. Got a feeling no one will be joining until to the summer. Though of course we may spend a little on Zaha, but we won't see hin until August.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe he is one of a million midfielders mentioned on here that people rate as better than we already have.We obviously need a couple of midfielders but they have to be good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

He's completely overated that's why.
His attitude stinks and he thinks that he's much better than he actually is.
He is nowhere near the quality of Kevin Strootman, that is the player we should be going for.

mik i don't recall anyone saying ronaldo had a bad attitude. Sure he was cocky and arrogant but he was also a consummate professional. Unlike m'vila who has been disciplined several times by club and country for a variety of offences.

Agree0 Disagree0

CR7 was accused, in the early days, of being selfish, arrogant and a one trick pony.Of course after a season or two the truth came out and he was arrogant, vain, but a consumate proffesional. Many said Eric was a football gypsy, moving from one club to another, always putting ego before team. Then he came to United and what a great fit, player and club made. My point is "don't believe what you read in tabloids". M'villa certainly looks a strong athletic holding midfielder to me. Though I would prefer Wanyama. But at 8m it would be a risk worth taking IMO
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely the shocker or mis-understood transfers was Tevez and Masch to West Ham.

I can't believe QPR got Remy.... Madness. His agent must be laughing all the way to the bank right now.

Believable26 Unbelievable3

I think its a very good move for the player. If QPR get religated he gets released. He gets to put himself in the shop window with half a seasons playing time.

ED will Isco be leaving this window or not? {Ed002's Note - Barcelona, Manchester City, Real Madrid, Juventus and Spurs had previously shown an interest in Isco and he came close to a move to Dortmund, who may still follow up the matter .There were some rumours of interest from Manchester United and Arsenal. Chelsea had someone watch Isco in a recent game against Granada and again very recently. AC Milan might also look to the player if he does not move before the summer. If Malaga are forced to sell even though they don't want to right now, they have discussed future options on the player with a couple of clubs and I would suspect Chelsea, Juventus and Real Madrid are best placed right now to push a deal through - although Manchester City could well make a bid. A move in January is by no means certain and Malaga are looking to have Isco sign a new long-term contract because they do fear a move for the player this month. Malaga wanted 21M euros and are now negotiating an increase in a termination clause to 42M euros, using a pay rise to tempt the player to agree.}

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Do you have this response on copy paste Ed? If not then fair play to you.

Dan {Ed007's Note - Ed002 has a photographic memory, it is a side effect of her training as an East German javelin Olympian. Her moustache can be tickly as well.}

Agree0 Disagree0

So Ed the kid Piazon joining Malaga on loan has no bearing on Isco potentially moving to chelsea? {Ed002's Note - The two are unrelated but it is fair to say Chelsea remain interested in Isco.}

ettiene capoue linked with everton 9m good young player adaptible strong holding midfielder

Apparently Granit Xhaka is unhappy at Borussia Moenchengladbach and is looking for a way out, Im pretty sure he was on our radar after dumping us out of the Champions League with Basel last season. He is only about 20 and is a good defensive midfielder.Bought for 7million I think we could get him for a bargain price.Wonder if there would be any interest in him now.

RedKen

Believable4 Unbelievable15

I really thought he was excellent from what I had seen of him. He was the standout player for Basel - I think he could develop into something quite special - reminds me a bit of Schweinsteiger.

Fresh!

Agree0 Disagree0

He plays as a trequartista for Switzerland, and sits on the bench for Mönchengladbach. He is talented but not the player we need.

And one more thing, Nordtveit plays the holding midfield role for Borussia.

Alot of rumours flying about from de gea heading back to spain to barca or real madrid anyone shed any light on this? possible replacement in jack butland young good keeper has the ability to be the best in the world? also heard alot of ronaldo coming back? :/ would be great but we don't have the finaces to

Believable4 Unbelievable41

David de Gea WILL be Spain's #1. Cassillas and Vicente del Bosque have predicted as such.
Like a fine wine, he needs aging. Plus a good Muscle build up.
Valdes has always been suspect, but has always had the best defence protecting him.

King Juan Carlos and Principe Philipe always seem to prefer Madrilista Goal Keepers rather than Catalans. So he pays the piper calls the tune.
David de Gea to Madrid.

how would buttland be a good replacement? He spent last season on loan at i believe cheltenham and now he's playing in a very average brum side. Yes he has potential but he's a little over hyped because he's english. He'd be a good replacement for lindegaard and we could train him up to a number one but not straight in as number one. In the unlikely event de gea went i'd want someone with more experience than buttland

Agree2 Disagree1

I would like forster as a replacment or tim krul but i would prefer to keep de gea

Agree2 Disagree0

15 Jan 2013 16:40:09
De Geas not going anywhere, we will all see soon enough that when our defense improves and midfield gets its rythm going our keeper will get his act together, it nearly all comes part in parcel and then like last season(2nd half) it'll be all about 'now we're seeing his real talent', next best thing de gea etc.Its a confidence thing, remember when he got his confidence last season the save against Chelsea to win the game. I don't think we'll touch a new keeper in this window, the summer is a possibility but unless an offer comes in I don't think we'll sell DDG as he's young and fits our bill at the min.I think Butland has potential but I think Sam Johnstone has equal potential just needs a good run of games so maybe he'll go out on loan for experience.DDG possibly not the long term answer but defo the next keeper will/should have more experience.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't believe his sale is to do with his performance, it's just he is Spanish and would most probably prefer to play for Barca than for us. I can't blame him tbh, if I was anything other than a united fan I would want to play for them too. He is being very professional about it and getting on with his job but I get a feeling he is angling for a return to Spain. Especially after SAFs interview where he said the problem with signing foreign players is that they only tend to stay for a few years, I get the feeling Valencia might be off in the summer as well.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree1

If we are getting a replacement then I would like either Begovic or the Galatasaray goalkeeper he is class.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless DDG is unhappy in England or at Man Utd, SAF won't be selling him. There is nothing that a settled defence, a strong midfielder to shield the back four, time and 10 kilos of muscle won't put right.
Mik

Agree2 Disagree0

Sneijder to united 8.5-10.8mill to be completed before the 25th medical in all........ Looks like he reduced his wage....
This is a text I got from a mate..... Not sayin it's tru but sounds like a good deal all round

CAIN

Believable27 Unbelievable40

If true could be good business if he is willing to reduce his wage demands
would fit into the midfield and be great for the club

sneijder & Zaha great double signing

UNITEDFORLIFE75

Agree1 Disagree0

If sneijder is available for £8-10 million I think it's well worth a go, especially when you think saf spent £7-5 million on bebe

Agree1 Disagree0

Would be good business if its true. He's at his peak now at 28. Has this rumour been ratified at all or what's your source?

Agree0 Disagree0

Bebe cost £7.4m plus £90k a year in salary. Total over 4 years = £8m

Sneijder would cost £8m plus £50m in salary. Total = £58m

A ridiculous comparison no name.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Syd as I said not sure how true it is but how can you say 50 mil in salary ........ Fact is no one knows Wat we could should an probably will pay him ..... I recon it could be 130-150 weekly over 4 years it's 25-33 mill so your way off the mark an if it's as low as 8 signing on fee then that is just over 40 mill ..... We wanted him for near 30 mill let alone wage ........=great deal if it can be done

CAIN

Agree1 Disagree0

CAIN, although I think the rumour isn't true. Sneijder wants £130k a week NET. If he was to reduce his demands (highly unlikely) then he will drop it to £100k a week NET. That means we would have to pay him £10m a year. Even then it will be the best part of £50m. That is a massive gamble on a player who has had one world-class season THREE YEARS AGO.

I'm sorry bud, but I do not buy this rumour as he is a very greedy little man.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Sydney, i didn't realise that you were the Agent of Wesley Sneijder and knew what his wage demands were?
Can you confirm if he is coming or not and put all our minds at ease?

Simmo

Agree1 Disagree1

How many world class seasons did berbatov have and nani an ando the list goes on I'm sure at least one of them where on similar wage ........ So syd I think your estimation is still off as regards of money an can not believe for a second a smart fellow like yourself cannot see that compeard to Wat we could of got him for a year ago

CAIN

Agree0 Disagree0

He'll keep Ando company in the sick room at least. I've always thought WS excellent for Holland and not all that at club level. Since leaving Ajax he's had one good season clubwise, when Inter won the treble. Hope we don't get him, (don't think we will anyway) and we go for Wanyama, Strootman or the like.
Mik

Agree0 Disagree0

Sydney, bebe on 90k a week ? Think you've got decimal point wrong somewhere there

Dustbin

Agree0 Disagree1

Does this mean RVP has sorted things with him? I know about the ballon d'or nomination so maybe that's a step 4ward.
If we were to sign him, he'd have to massively reduce his demands. As he would or Liverpool, Arsenal or city etc. He simply needs to prove himself and then review his contract in the summer. Not sure where this puts a fit Anderson though, but I hear Sneijder has ability for wide play too. I defo think he deserves a shot if he were to accept 70k NET on a 2yr contract with review in the summer.
It seems as tho Syd is not a fan?... He could add serious strength if he gelled with Carrick, RVP, Rooney, Kagawa... If he found the form we saw against Chelsea a few years ago, he would add Awe...

Patzi

Agree0 Disagree0

Simmo, no need to be a c*ck. It's well known that Sneijder wants his current Inter deal matched and that is £130k a week NET. He has spoken to Chelsea, City and Us and he wouldn't budge. Again that is no secret.

Dustbin, £90k a YEAR mate. He was put on a United training salary.

CAIN, Nani and Ando joined the club on £16k a week. They have both had one contract extension in their United careers. My guess is they are both on £45k a week as Portuguese papers at the time said Nani was having his wages trebled. Berbatov was on circa £100k a week. Not £250k a week that the club would need to pay Sneijder to meet his demands.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

Haha sorry Sydney I'll read properly next time

Dustbin

Agree0 Disagree0

Completely agree with Sydney on this the guy has only had one really good season and by the looks of things his attitude stinks not worth a punt 4 me. And we have kagawa who is just as technically gifted which he will show once he gets an understanding with the rest of the team and gets some games.

Zaha latest: Sun reckons he signs tomorrow for 12 million. Mail reckons we're going to offer 6 million in the next 48 hours. Nice to see the media as clued up as ever. I think 6 million would be a bargain, no one can complain at that price surely? Personally i think it'll be more than that, somewhere between 6 and 7.5 with add ons for england caps, us winning the league and champions league taking it upto 12. Still a good deal.

Believable14 Unbelievable9

15 Jan 2013 13:09:13
Do you fink ronaldo is planin helpin utd out to sign him by runnin his contact out to lower the price i hope so i hope he's back were he belongs at old trafford can ya sheed any light on this cheers!

Believable25 Unbelievable15

I think he is playing hardball for a monster RM contract. If they offer him a better deal than Messi I think he will sign. They will then sell him in a few year's time IMO.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

So its a greed tactic rather than wot people are sayin his lookin back to utd . Realy loved to see him back again but if its money he's lookin he will hav more chance at rubbishy .. Cum on ronni old traffords your home lets hav ya back kid!

Agree0 Disagree0

STOP it for crying out loud!!
Ronaldo...ronaldo...ronaldo......
are we united fans so pathetic that we can't accept the fact that he is at another club and move on?
fine, i agree, he was great, he won us the champions league, but really, can we not produce another player of such calibre? Afterall, it was United who made him a star, why can't we just move on and rather focus on bringing more talent to the club and making him a star? ....
we united fans are really a spoiled bunch, we want everything ready made, and we can't move on, new Scholes, new Keane, New Cantona etc. ........this is the exact reason why some united 'fans' don't value players like carrick, he is not roy keane, but he gives us something that keane or nicky butt never could! ....
just forget about ronaldo, he is gone, and it is best if we don't talk about him!

Agree1 Disagree3

Exactly what he said. ^^^^^^^^^^^ . he doing to real what he did to us it was his dream to play for them and we will ( united ) turned him into the super star to get there. now he wants to come back to the club and manager he turned his back on

Agree0 Disagree2

Ive said this from day one, he's pure class but he only wants to come back because he knows we are the dominant force of the premier league and that real are nothing but a twinkle compared to barca and evel athletico and malaga this season for all the money spent on the so called ` dream team` their under achieving far too much he knows he won't win anything with madrid therefore he's trying to up sticks

Agree0 Disagree0

Whoever had the rant, why can't we dream he may want to come back to united. We may produce another great player but why the f*ck wouldn't we not want the world's 2nd best player (and best player I've ever seen play in England) back at united

Agree1 Disagree0

Yes why wouldnt we want him back wee took mark hughes back from barca didn't we were lookin to make the complete team b4 fergie retires so if dats wats on the cards then yes give fergie the check book and lets get this unique treble again and bring back the glory days.. GG MU.. Belfast.....

Agree0 Disagree0

Well with both rumours of Pep coming in as manager and ronaldo coming back to us, i see both to be highly unlikely, its either one or the other to be fair.

If any one saw ballon d'or with ronaldo/pep moment then youd know what i was talking about.

Because of this i don't think ronaldo will be coming back to united, to be honest though do we need someone like that back? to go from saying that he was in a family club and that he was not leaving, to catching the first flight out to madrid! pfft! sod him i say.

Id rather have pep take over from fergie (when he decides to retire!)

Anyone know what the situation is with this kid Bruno Gomes from brazil? Has a deal been agreed, is he any good?
Sorry if this has been discussed before.

Del boy!

Believable15 Unbelievable4

He cannot stop scoring in Brazil and he has one a few accolades. He is a player that we have an option on. I understand fee has been agreed and we will decide whether or not to buy him between now and the summer. We will not see him til he turns 18, but he will continue to train with us for a few weeks a year.

Sydney! {Ed004's Note - Will he count as a homegrown talent then if he is bought before his 18th birthday?}

Agree0 Disagree0

He is good but I think he's only 16 and can't sign until he's 18. He's been prolific at youth level and apparently has the lot in terms of attributes.

Supasub

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed004, even if he signs slightly after his 18th birthday he will count as homegrown. Smalling, Jones, Evans, Rafa, Fabio, Cleverley, Welbeck, Young, Rooney, Powell, Amos, Zaha? are all homegrown.

Johnstone, Lingard, Cole, Vermijl, Petrucci, Henriquez, W.Keane, M.Keane, Tunnicliffe, Blackett, Januzaj, Daehli, Pearson, Wilson, Perreira, Ioannou, Barmby, Rothwell, Goss, Harrop.

Sydney! {Ed004's Note - Well Zaha is English and been in the youth academy at Palace for over 2 years, would Ronaldo count as home grown if playing for Man Utd}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed004, Ronaldo would most certainly be homegrown.

Sydney! {Ed004's Note - I thought so what age is they have to sign by. I thought the rules were you had to have trained in England for 3 years before your 21st birthday}

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers lads, lets hope he turns out good!

Del boy!

Agree0 Disagree0

He just has to be affiliated to the FA/welsh FA for 36 months before his 21 birthday to be considered homegrown, he doesnt have to have trained here. All he needs to do is go online and apply for an FA playerpass and he'll be "affiliated"

Snakey {Ed004's Note - Ah ok cheers}

Eds/Regular Posters,
You've already confirmed many rumours. I just wanted to ask wether Utd are in the market for a proper defensive midfielder. Fernandinho openly said that he's joining a club in Manchester(don't know wether it was made up, but I read it somewhere). Then we were linked to Wanyama, Strootman and Vidal. My question to you is clearly we are getting a winger and are also scouting other CMs and CBs. But does SAF plan on getting a ball winner? The other question was wether Nani is about to be sold this month.

Thanks.

IBleedBlue(last time I posted here, people thought I was a City/Chelsea fan and called me things like blue troll and stuff. Regarding that, I wanted to make things clear that I'm an Indian and I support our national cricket team who's promotional line is 'IBleedBlue' because of the jersey colour. :D) {Ed002's Note - Fernandinho did not say anything about joining a club in Manchester - I thought I dealt with that at the time - it was someone on Twitter or whatever teasing the gullible fans. The club has looked at midfield players such as Strootman and Lars Bender but would suspect if there was a need to put someone in a purely defensive role that perhaps Phil Jones could be used. I think it less likely right now that a deal will be struck for Nani at an acceptable fee this month.}
