Don't worry, according to Naughty Mathick we're still signing Sanchez.

Pastore tipped to quit Italy
Palermo chief expects Argentinian to leave Serie A

Just seen this on SSN.Interesting...

MUFC 19

Believable24 Unbelievable18

Just wondering who would people prefer us to sign? Pastore or Sneijder? {Ed036's Note - Sneijder. I think we already have potential in the shape of Anderson; it's world class quality we need to take us to the next level.}

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree on the Anderson part. Just feel we need someone who has that ability at this moment in time.

MUFC 19

Agree0 Disagree0

See the Eds point, as well as the potential of Morrison and Pogba to come into midfield, but in terms of outlay, Pastore for me, will be better that Sneider within 18 months, has a massive sell on value as well if he turned out to be half as good as I think he can be.

Sneijder will transfer to United, and Pastore will transfer to Inter. Nike will be involved in brokering both deals. Sneijder/United worldwide replica shirt sales will be huge

Believable32 Unbelievable32

.......I dont think sneijder is joining rather it might be someone else off the radar

asif_devil

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes jus seen that. Nike seems to be getting involved.

Ed002 - Is it true that United have made more of a fuss over Mata in the past 24 hours?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I don't know of any further interest in the player at this time Syd.}

Believable14 Unbelievable18

That's what I've heard too Sydney! SAF did say he was looking for a midfielder to replace Paul Scholes and Mata fits the bill

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool have shown an interest in him so he certainly fits the bill
T0MB0Z

Agree0 Disagree0

Forget about Sneijder, nasri, mata or any other so called superstars, utd cant attract the big name players never have been able to.we can only afford young players with the potential to become stars ie ronaldo and rooney.i am afraid to say that when it comes to a choice between us , real, barca or chelsea we will lose every time.time to wake up and smell the coffee folks barca will continue to leave us for dust for many years to come

Agree0 Disagree0

Why would a player prefer salford to
Barcelona?

rain to sun?

Catalonia to Greater Manchester?

Cant understand it.

Agree0 Disagree0

This guy above has to be a scouser we unlike those little spanish clubs are able to make superstars and therefore dont require signing over hyped unproven players i.e veron , berba who ever we sign will compliment and enhance what we have untill pogba morrison keane welbeck chico and co are ready to rule like the class of 94"

Agree0 Disagree0

I think to be fair barce have made a few superstars

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol, Yeah they havent produced many players at all really have they Hierro, Raul, Casillas, Xavi, Pedro, Iniesta, Morientes. I think the poster was having a dig, but even so, there is truth in what he is saying. Barcelona and Madrid are every bit as big if not bigger than United and for many foreign stars, the climate, lifestyle etc etc is a bigger pull, lets no tbe delusional about things

Invisible Stuey

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you for your informative posts about a selective few whom have come thru the small spanish clubs ranks these are few and far between the recent barca team has 8 or so home grown but has only won the champions league three times in fergies era. the same as madrid we have won it twice with our biggest signings being rio veron rooney and berba. there rest have been below 20 millioin. and that has only been since we signed ruud if i remmeber rightly in 2001 not the 85 million on ronni or the 80 million on ibra or villa carlos figo the list is emdless. the modern era we have spentless than our equals but won more. simple. dont get fooled by what you hear or read even by me look at money spent trophies won and players sold i think you may agree uniteds conversion rate is better i must stress under fergie

Agree0 Disagree0

I do appologise barca have won 4. but take leagues fa cups carling cups cup winners cups etc

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry to bleat on but if you compare madrids and barcas domestic record to celtic and rangers you will see there is not great deal of difference. madrid won 5 champions league on the bounce in 50's when football cannot be compared to today barca won it for the first time in 94 after all british winners had done so. look at british winners to spanish erm 2 compared too 7 may be...

Agree0 Disagree0

Credit were credit due i think barce had 9 players in the spain starting 11 and there academy seem to be knocking out talent at regular rate
madrid on the other hand, i think i would struggle to name more 3 lads that have come thro the ranks
jred

Agree0 Disagree0

Ibra cost 50m-60m i beleive. vill awas next most exspensive at 35m.ronaaldinho was next most exspensive at about21m.thats about there big spending to be fair to them.

real though spent 230m 2 seasons ago on ronaldo, kaka , alonso etc now that is really spending.

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at our spending since 99' and compare that to barca and madrid. since that time we have been in 4 champs finals won 2, 8 prem leagues, 3 fa cup finals won 2, 3 league cups.... compare that to madrid and barca and money spent and brought in. ill take our record over any europen clubs bearin in mind that we had oshea brown djemba djemba tosic etc etc...

Utd Prepare 35 milion bid for Hamsik

Believable23 Unbelievable82

I have seen little of Hamsik except for at the WC. I was completely underwhelmed by him. I would like to hear the opinion of those who have seen him on a regular basis.

Agree0 Disagree0

He could be good in the future but at this moment in time and thinking for next season.. he has nothing on sneijder. This guy is more of a risk than sneijder in terms of coping with the EPL, sneijder has played well at an internation level, has hamsik? not really to be honest..

Agree0 Disagree0

From what I've seen there are glimpses of brilliance, but fall few and far between of decidedly average performances.

I would say I have watched enough of him to make an observation, but I can't say I see him play on a weekly basis.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair sneijder plays for a very good netherlands side, hamsik plays for slovakia...

1redarmy

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm sure I read on sky sports news transfer center last night that Napoli had put 100 million euros price tag on him... the same as what they done with Cavani.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hamsik has been hailed as a player with enough potential to be one of the best players in the world for 3 or 4 years now. Having watched him play a fair amount of games over that period I'd have to say I'm not quite sure if I would agree.

There are certainly times when he looks the part - but then there are others when the full time whistle has gone and I haven't been able to recall him doing anything at all of note. This season has certainly been his best in a Napoli shirt - but he reminds me a lot of Nani (and to a lesser extent Anderson). He could be a great player - but at the moment lacks the consistency required to earn that title.

He wouldn't be a terrible signing but at £35m would be a risky one.
T0MB0Z

Agree0 Disagree0

Ive said for years we should sign hamsik he would be unreal

Agree0 Disagree0

Hamsik would be a fantastic signing for us. A complete all round midfielder. Has the ability to create and destroy and can also be utilised as a box to box player. Lots of room for development. Nevertheless, will be regarded as one of the best midfielders around in a couple of years time. He would be a great signing and if a Real Madrid wants him in 3 / 4 years time then will make a big profit. Sneijder more technically gifted going forward but if we are looking at price alone then Hamsik is more value for money. Chips in with a fiar number of goals as well.

Reported on caughtoffside

Man United are ready to make a swift £35M bid for Napoli playmaker Marek Harmsik if they fail to complete moves to sign either Wesley Sneijder or Samir Nasri from Inter Milan or Arsenal respectively.

Hamsik has long been a target for Sir Alex Ferguson and the Slovakian international has been repeatedly linked with a move away from Napoli this summer and AC Milan have shown a great deal of interest in the 23 year old who has been a huge success in Serie A.

Gino

Believable14 Unbelievable48

Hamsik is a very good player, but I don't rate him as 'World class'. Perhaps £25m would be a more accurate estimate, but I am not sure Napoli would be interested in that fee. I cannot see Hamsik at United.

Sydney!

Tottenham are the latest side to express an interest in FC Basel midfielder Xherdan Shaqiri - who would cost around £5m.
Full story: Talksport

Just seen this on BBC gossip column, this guy looks like a great talent already, surely with nurturing in the reserves he could become world class. Personally I think for 5 million that would be an absolute bargain and United shuould have a punt on that 1

According to talksport, Xherdan Shaqiri would be available for £5m. He wouldn't be my first choice - but at that price (or anything under £15m if I'm honest) we should be biting their hands off to sign him He is a good player who would only improve at Manchester United.
T0MB0Z

Believable22 Unbelievable5

He has one or two good moments, but is useless for the rest of the game. Still at 18 he could be moulded into a better player.
