A friend, who supports Chelsea, tells me that the rumour there is that Chelsea will offer us Fernando Torres plus £15m for Rooney. Doubt it myself but you never know.

Believable12 Unbelievable117

Why would united swap 1 below par player for another

Agree0 Disagree1

Hasn't he just scored? Great timing.

Torres is finished. Finito, ruined.

Sydney!

Agree2 Disagree0

I think Sydney is right, Torres has been off the boil for too long and he is 29. Shame, a performing Torres, alongside RVP, would have been very interesting.

Agree1 Disagree0

It wouldn't have been interesting, an on form Torres with rvp would be unstoppable!

Agree0 Disagree0

An in form Rooney with RvP is unstoppable!

i think rooney is worth more than sixteen million

Agree3 Disagree0

Was jealous when Liverpool signed him as we were heavily linked and he looked very promising, and fullfilled it at Liverpool. Forgetting his age and lack of confidence at Chelsea, from any interviews or reports of him speaking, I personally can't stand his attitude, comes across as very selfish and self interested and never to blame, glad we never signed him and would certainly not want him now
Invisible Stuey

Agree0 Disagree0

I just got back home from the Final tonight, and Torres is such a sloth on the pitch. I never want to see him in red. quite appauling, apart from his one little run on goal. I was genuinely shocked to see how inert he is on the pitch. dreadful. great game and a great atmosphere in the stadium.
Jomo.

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool ruined Torres by forcing him to play injured all the time. Did the dame to Owen too.

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Jomo, you don't get that perspective of a players performance from tv cameras. Quite clear that Torres will never be the player he was about 8 years ago and he won't be coming to us.

Agree0 Disagree0

15m and lukaku and the i'd be interested. Torres is and has lived on past glory for around 3-4 yrs now, shadow of what he used to be. If Chelsea hadnt paid the money they did for him he would've been shown the door a year ago and would probably be at PSG or Ahnzi earning a fortune as a poster boy

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely they would have to pay us to take Torres and then pay us more if they wanted Rooney.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sooner have David bellion back tbh

Agree0 Disagree0

Smoke another one you tool

Agree0 Disagree0

Very much doubt this is true but if anything at least he wouldn't cost £250k a week

Real Madrid to bid for Rooney? And will include Di Maria in their offer, surely a deal we can't say no to? 2 transfer requests. and we could do with adding goals from the wings and Di Maria fits the bill!

Believable35 Unbelievable58

Not happening

Agree0 Disagree0

Hope Rooney goes this season he a useless gob s**** and this tge second time he has asked fir transfer he obviously thinks he bigger and better than the club hope moysey sells him for the second time lol benteke to replace him

Agree0 Disagree4

Hope we don't sign Di Maria he is a cheat falls over for nothing would not be suited to the Permiership anyway

Damian M

Agree2 Disagree2

Anyone else laughing at the Newcastle make move for Rooney story? I wondered why Wayne had a change of mind. Lol.

Believable14 Unbelievable42

Give it 3-4 years and Rooney will be Mike Ashley's twin ;)

Sydney!

Agree5 Disagree0

What more can you expect from Sid James's Park! Not going to happen imho.
Mike B

Agree0 Disagree0

Well this must be a boost to Rooney's confidence. A side of almost championship quality want him. Guess it is better than QPR, Reading or Wigan.

"@ManutdRedCafe
Gill and Woodward looking to pull off something big. Maybe more than one if all goes well, as Sir Alex's parting gift to you. Fingers crossed"

What do you guys think this "something big" is?

Believable41 Unbelievable19

Where do you get this news from?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ahh! The infamous itk tweets. Shouldn't this be in the dodgy rumours section eds?

REDFAITH {Ed004's Note - Probably}

Agree1 Disagree0

Bale + Ronaldo/Lewandowski

But really it's dodgy!

Agree0 Disagree0

Pul off somthing big?

An elephant?

Agree1 Disagree0

Horses and donkeys are quite big if they are looking to pull something off.

Brendan81

Agree0 Disagree0

This is the third or fourth time I have heard this rumour this week. Basically if it is true it is indicating either Bale, Ronaldo or both, simple as that.

Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

I hope this rumour has some girth to it. I don't care if we have to pull out all the stops, or if we have to stroke a big ego, because it will be worth it if a top star explodes into our first team.

Danny Pughnited

Agree2 Disagree0

Its not bale : (

Mike Ashley isn't bald though. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Danny Pughnited

Good pun work, lol.

HBadger

Agree0 Disagree0

Something big = bale. But this may not necessarily mean the 'Bale' we are looking for.

Agree0 Disagree0

Woodward and Gill to announce something big?. Fergie retiring is big I guess. Rock the Red

Agree1 Disagree0

Is it not about time we accepted that as a club, we don't do big. Yes RVP move was significant, but we don't do transfers (in) that "rock the world of football". According to the ITK's on social networking sites we had signed Sneijder, Alexis Sanchez, Lucas Moura, Eden Hazard, Luka Modric in recent seasons. None of which actually happened. So what signs are there that we are going to spend £50m+ on Ronaldo or Bale or Falcao?
I would love to see it as much as any other fan, but being realistic we are looking at £15-20m players and turning them into better players.

Sambo

Agree0 Disagree0

Sambo, your last sentence about who we do sign completely contradicts the signing of RVP. You have been reading too much sh!te. We had the money and did try too make 2 huge signings, both of which chose other clubs.

Agree0 Disagree0

No name. I intended to put RVP aside. But you get what I'm trying to say surely? People speak of Bale or Ronaldo but that would require us to break transfer record in this country. Can you see it? We regularly paid circa £25-30m, Rio, Veron, Rooney, but we haven't gone "all out" to sign someone for a while.

Sambo

P. s I will be first to admit I read to much sh!te :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

For what it's worth, the tenants in Ronnie's Cheshire pad has been served notice (he never sold the property, instead rented it out). I know it sounds superdodgy, but if you know anybody at Foxtons (the concerned real estate agency), you can easily confirm it. Just sharing a rumor, for all I know it could be Ronnie doing a good turn to the returning Bebe :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry, name's ~Cj

Agree0 Disagree0

CESC, DI MARIA, AND A CERTAIN POLISH ST. HHHHHHMMMMM

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably referring to an increase in ticket prices

Agree0 Disagree0

Probably gained or fellaini. We don't buy big anymore.

Agree0 Disagree0

Eric cantona is being signed up to lay our new pitch. think there's a trailer load of seagulls helping him out as well.

Aturo Vidal says no to United saying he's happy at Juventus.
David Moyes agrees a prohibition agreement with everton over Baines, Fellaini.

Believable15 Unbelievable44

Bale, Baines, Fellaini and Wanyama. {Ed004's Note - Really don't want Fellaini}

Agree0 Disagree0

Not need to sign a 'prohibition'. he's out of contract. Can't see why he would anyway unless it was personal.

SB

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I think its good if he did agree to that, shows some integrity to my mind then if they go to sell either all bets are off.
Apart from that not sure if Fellaini is good enough

Agree1 Disagree0

Bale, Baines, Modric would be a great summer. We don't need a DM! How long will it take before people realise that Jones is a demi god at CB and in a DM position!

Dan

Agree1 Disagree0

No agreement. Rodgers and Allen?

United will NOT be signing Ronaldo

"Spanish paper AS reports Real president Florentino Perez met up with Manchester United chief executive David Gill for exploratory talks over Wayne Rooney transfer". They also claim that "Perez is willing to pay up to £32m to land Rooney and Gill was told there was no chance United could re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo. "

Meanwhile, Gareth Bale remain United's top target this summer as the club wants to present Moyes with a massive boost to the upcoming campaign.

Believable63 Unbelievable28

And everyone knows how much truth there is in a Spanish newspaper. Worse than ours!
Just sit back, relax and wait and see. The only person that knows the truth is Ronnie himself.

Agree0 Disagree0

AS are Madrid based they would be stupid to publish anything but Ronaldo staying at Madrid.

Nat

Agree0 Disagree0

Art,
Where have you got this info from?
I cannot see Madrid signing Bale this year and so I support your view with the interest from United.
Paul

Agree1 Disagree1

Agree- this is nonsense, Gill wouldn't be doing the leg work to offload Rooney, that's Paul Stretford's job. They're maybe some truth in Gill trying to secure someone else

Agree0 Disagree1

It could be good news Gill is in Madrid.
Ronaldo, Benzema or Ozil coming.

Or could it be bad news.
Rooney or Vidic going.

Agree0 Disagree0

TJF - Either way it is good news!

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah can't imagine Gill would travel all the way to spain to try offload Wayne. It's regarding interest in Di Maria isn't it?

I was thinking Fergie would like to leave the fans with a BIG signing as he retires to give those doubters hope for next season. I was thinking Ronnie, maybe Bale someone like that.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

If I am the CEO of the biggest club in the world and another club wants one of my players, without any inclination of including one of theirs in the same or another deal, I wouldn't waste my time flying around. I would just wait for a representative of that club to come to meet me. Just saying.

Hals

Agree2 Disagree0

I believe Ed002 said we met to discuss Di Maria and that was David Gill {Ed004's Note - You are correct}

Agree0 Disagree0

To all those saying that David Gill wouldn't go all the way to Madrid to offload Rooney, David Gill AND Peter Kenyon flew to Madrid to offload Beckham. Just sayin.

TK-Red

Agree0 Disagree0

I really hope its not Di Maria, I don't rate him at all and is just a fancier version of Nani.

Agree1 Disagree0

Di Maria is far better than Nani, do you watch ANY Spanish football?

Agree0 Disagree0

Jono, Di Maria is a fancier Nani that doesn't have the same flaws as Nani. I would take a player like that any day. Nani when happy is one of the best players around that can single handedly win you games. Nani's problems are mental and Di Maria doesn't have that problem thankfully.

Sydney!

Agree1 Disagree0

15 May 2013 14:35:47
Bale will remain at spurs next season at the least before moving abroad! No bale at Man united

Agree1 Disagree0

No Name

Yes he is better but is just as inconsstant and that is playing with better players than we have. Di Maria is just as petulant and falls over far, far too easily for our league and I just don't like him.

Syd

I agree most of Nani's flaws are mental but where Di Maria may be more confident in himself would that overspill into cockiness when coming into our team? If he applies it in the correct manner like Ronnie did great but if not we could just see him targetted by the opposition and spend half the game on his ar*e complaining. the latter is what he has done for allot of his time in Madrid.

There is no doubt the boy has skills but where we have had one problem child in Nani and everyone except Percy sees the issues Di Maria could bring us a slightly better version of the same problems like said above.

Give me Di Maria skills and Toni V attitude and we are talking ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

Jono, I think Di Maria is a Latin Ashley Young. He too spends a lot of time on the deck.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

He ain't my favourite player but TBH I think Di Maria in for Nani would be a decent improvement. Add to that Zaha and I'd be much happier with our wing options than at current. (with Zaha being phased in slowly of course)

HBadger

Agree0 Disagree0

Bale 60m and Baines {Ed004's Note - I would happily offer Rooney for Ozil, I'd do a straight swap there maybe even give a couple of million. Then use the funds for Anderson, Nani and Evra to buy Strootman and Baines. Lastly break the bank and buy Bale or get a winger and a cm}

Agree0 Disagree0

I honestly think ronaldo wouldn't mind going back to mufc but mufc can't afford him and other players and real madrid wouldn't sell him where as we could buy cheaper players but more of them to build a better squad than just one person

Agree0 Disagree0

Di Maria was discussed as an option, but the player we want from Madrid in exchange for Rooney is Luka Modric! and Again not Ronaldo

Ed Is there any interest in us for Piotr Zieliński? He looks an incredible player from highlights.

(sorry I meant this guy not the guy I asked about in the last post, if you could edit that post out thanks).

Dan {Ed002's Note - Udinese are confident that they have a deal for Zielinski but there is interest from both Manchester clubs, Hamburg and from Turin.}
