Reports suggesting that Fellaini is on the top of SAF transfer list in forthcoming window. I know this is 4 months away but Sir Alex has seen the evidence of how good the player is (first hand!) and he will be looking to capture him as soon as he can. This would be a great signing and really should have happened in the last window me thinks! Still better late than never if it happens. What do you think ed?

Hope not.........we're not a hit the big man team

He's not even that good apart from being an aerial target, he's not a great bal winner unless its in the air. Mediocre IMO unless he's playing against short teams.

Dan {Ed025's Note - he is a lot more than an aerial target dan...but he is going nowhere..

Agree0 Disagree0

Too slow IMO, yes he raises his game against us but he rarely plays like that against anyone else. As a central midfielder I wouldn't be interested, but as a target man he would interest any team, well any team who plays that system and that isn't us.

I would say you have not seen to much of fellani play then I am bored of telling people he is much better at sitting in front of a back four than he is behind a striker a top top player like ya ya it is just asset that he can move up behind a striker, I hope we do get him as he will be a big loss if he goes to one of our rivals here or abroad

I rate fellaini, he's strong, versatile and a much better footballer than people are giving him credit for.
Fellaini would certainly bring us more options and help stop us from being dominated by strength and size in midfield.
If he came, which he won't (moyes wouldn't have it January anyway,) he would make a very useful squad member IMO
Snakey

Agree0 Disagree1

Ferguson saw it first hand that Fellaini is good as a 2nd striker when a team plays numerous high balls to him against a defender who actually wasnt a defender (Carrick).

Fellaini is a good player but we could do a lot better. His passing is too limited and if people want a "destroyer" there are other players who can do that better too. That said i think we need a new box-to-box player with a good passing range and Fellaini definitely shouldn´t be that player.

He´d fit in very well at Chelsea.

Reported that Man Utd have sent scouts to the game this weekend of Inter Milan and Torino. Reported that they are watching Italian international centre backs Ogbonna and Rannochia with a possible move in January with the concerns on consistent injuries in defence. It is also understood that this could be Rio Ferdinands final season as a Red of Manchester and may move abroad with a big money wage packet in the US being the main destination. Both centre backs would be sold in the region of £14 million

Does anyone else think there is something wrong with the either the medical team or coaching at the club for our backs to be injured so often? Is there is something seriously wrong somewhere, or is just a run of bad luck?
At this moment in time our only top-class defender (Vidic) has yet to re-discover his previous form, the other 3 places do not fill me with confidence.
Do you think we need someone else RedKnight?

J Bones.

J.Bones - couldn't agree more, we just pick up small inuries all the time which take weeks to heal and then half the time they pick up something else whilst recovering. I talked about this in the post below about Clev/Anderson comparison.

Major concern for me how frequently our players pick up knocks in training.

Neither of them are United quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

How are they not United quality?

Sween and J Bones,

I think this is why SAF is keen to get this new medical complex built and opened asap

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Cheers Dan - at least he isn't burying his head in the sand with the problem then and is aware of it. It just seems really odd that with all the quality we have everywhere around the club that we struggle with the basics of keeping our players fit - when other clubs with far less infrastructure/investment don't have the same severity of problems we do.

Sween

I agree Sween our injury record is appauling the last two seasons. This new facility is supposed to be like the Milanelo complex in Italy and should help injury prevention, rehibilitation and general long term player care to extend older players fitness levels a la future versions of Scholes and Giggs.
