Today's Guardian is reporting that Nani and Rooney are PSG bound for a total of £40m. I know the French source has no track record but this story does seem to be getting some legs. Not a bad deal, in my view, if it comes off and as long as the money is spent wisely.
Paulo.

Believable8 Unbelievable57

Paulo, I wouldn't pay too much attention to this, possibly some substance to the Nani interest but I can't see Rooney leaving United.

25 Million for Rooney makes this rumor sound like pure fiction. 15 Million for Nani does sound about right though

Agree0 Disagree0

Seriously come on lads! Why would you believe any of this tabloid rubbish! Rooney is going no where Nani on the other hand quite possibly!

Agree1 Disagree0

It's Nonsense!

According to Miguel Delaney who is meant to have good sources at United and other places, PSG will make a formal bid for Rooney. The editor has confirmed PSG are interested and Rooney has just two years left on current deal.

One way or another his future will be decided this summer. Although the figures are fictional, the interest from PSG is very real.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

Very difficult to place any sort of meaningful value on Rooney at the moment. Two years ago it would have been in excess of £40m but based purely on his performances this season £25 may be about right particularly if his best years are behind him.
Paulo

Agree0 Disagree1

Don't think so Paulo, new challenge for him will be great. But we cannot let him go cheaply, I think a minimum of £40m. Don't forget, he'll be worth a lot of money to PSG due to his marketability.

To be honest guy, s can you see Rooney wanting to play lower class football. PSG is the French version of Chelsea years ago when money bags Russian owner was buying anyone with legs. I think the writing is on the wall for Wazza. our new midfield enforcer. We can all speculate as who is coming and who is going. At the end of the day only one man will make a difference and that my friends is one Sir Alex Ferguson. let's end this season first before we speculate on next seasons line up. RockThe Red

. what u guys have 2 remember is Rooney ain't being sold 2 Wigan or Fulham etc where in his present form £25 million is a fair bid it's the likes of PSG, ANZHI etc, one of the super rich clubs who will pay £40 million for him. the reason Rooney will leave is because he will b asked 2 take a pay cut if he signed another contract. if he's worth £250k a week then John o' Shea was the best player in United history.

Agree1 Disagree0

I would never in a million years sell wazza, never mind for just over 20m

All the sh*t he gets is nonsense
He is the heart of man Utd

If we can get £40m for Rooney and £15m for Nani then that would be fantastic. The key, of course, is whether SAF believes Rooney has a positive contribution to make to our team or whether he thinks selling him would allow a strengthening of the team. All will be revealed in the Summer. The interesting thing is that a significant number of supporters would not be distraught if Rooney is sold, that would not have been the case two years ago.
Paulo.

Agree1 Disagree0

Wouldn't sell him for 40m either
For me it needs to be a mega huge offer to even consider letting him go
My fav player in world by far just because of his hunger and passion
How he can adapt positions
He would play anywhere for the team, that shows how much he loves his football and the club

Agree2 Disagree0

I love Rooney but I've got a feeling he could be sold this summer.
Hope they're planning to spend money on a striker and 1-2 midfielders if that's the case.

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney is enigma - Fulham away; brilliant - won us the match, yet the vast MAJORITY of games - where's Wazza?
Going through the motions 6/7 (if lucky) out of 10 performance. Substandard IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

40mil for rooney alone still worth more in current market if they paid 35 mil for lucas whos proved nothing yet!

Agree0 Disagree0

Utter utter rubbish. !!!1

Morning all, sad day in my homeland, please keep them in your thoughts. Ed002, has United shown any interest in Luke Shaw? Thanks in advance.

ussoldier77 {Ed002's Note - Whilst a couple of clubs have shown interest in Shaw, Manchester United has not at this time.}

Thoughts and prayers are with the those caught up in the Boston tragedy.

All our thoughts are with you and the whole United States. such a horrific tragedy and a senseless act of violence

Agree1 Disagree0

Lets hope they catch the mindless fools.

Interesting post though and raises an interesting thought about the future of our LB spot. Is Buttner United standard, I'm not sure, he is a bit reckless for me. Fabio is a sad story and I hope he is given a chance back with us. An up and down season with QPR ending now in likely relegation will be hard on him but a good lesson. His brother and he will be experiencing very different scenarios this season.

Couldn't believe it when I heard about it, good hearted people running a marathon to raise money for the less fortunate and they're the ones that are targeted. It's simply disgusting! Thoughts are with all effected by it.

Paul, I think Buttner does have great abilities in his game, his crossing is better than anyone else (except giggsy) that we'd get from the left side. Also he has a thunderous left foot and above all of that it's his passion that I enjoy the most, he's similar to Rafael in that respect. I agree he's still a bit rough but only time will tell if he's good enough for United.

I do however think if we were going to look at bringing in any new LB then Luke Shaw should be right at the very top of that list, he has incredible potential.

Shaw is a die hard Cheslea fan. I think its just a matter of time before he moves there. Plenty of other options though, Digne, Willems and Sandro are all top quality young LBs and none of them are at a top club now so would likely entertain a move.

This guy is a Chelsea supporter. Take a look at some of his Tweets in response to questions posed by fans.
I wouldn't get my hopes too high on this one.

Ed002, what's the latest with James Rodriguez? are United still in for him or aren't we interested anymore.
thanks. {Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed in regards Rodriguez. The interest remains but the price is seen to be too high.}

Believable10 Unbelievable1

Have a work acquaintance, who supports Porto, and she swears that our scouts are ever present at Stadium Dragao. Though she has varying ideas on who we are watching from Mangala. Sandro and Rodriguez.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002; if he continues to be deemed to expensive, who do you see us going for instead?

Thanks,

rpc {Ed002's Note - Gaitan.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed002, do you think United could pay the extra for Rodriguez 'IF' there is a substantial sale, IE Rooney? Or is it a case of the club refusing to pay over the odds full stop. Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I don't know Syd. Typically I would not expect the club to pay more than the believe the player is worth.}

Ed002, Rooney to PSG is a done deal according to Moulin. Any truth to this claim? {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable5 Unbelievable24

Rooney will retire at old Trafford trust me. New contract will be signed in the summer. His future lows at the heart of our midfield, think that showed on Sunday at how good he is at playing there. He can pick out passes scholes would be proud off and has a great desire and workrate, if he really seriously knuckles down and gets seriously fit he would be an absolute monster of a midfielder for us. I seriously think this is sir Alex's thinking hence the constant rumours linking is with strikers. Imagine a team with falcao up top with rvp. Kagawa on the left inside, Rooney in the middle, Rodriguez on the right and then carrick holding. attacking wise we would be up there as the best attacking team in the world. We need a big strong presence though at the back sum1 like garay or hummels. And the good thing is we have jones smalling who can play in different positions, zaha, Valencia who are adaptable in different positions, wellbeck and Hernandez as well although I hate to say it I think Chico will go this summer. He's too good to not be a normal starter in a team and I think he would strive at athletico I really do. exciting times this summer I can feel it

Ed007 what's your opinion of the possibility of McCarthy coming? Seeing as we share taste in Celtic/united/Eire etc. Thanks {Ed007's Note - It definitely looks as if he will be moving this summer. I'm trying my best to find out if the interest from Utd is genuine and how serious it is. I would love to be the first to tell you guys he was signing ;-)
