Lots of media rumours saying the deal for Carvalho has been agreed and that we are not far away from agreement, at £30m for Shaw. Kroos to be offered £260,000 per week, which may well turn his head. If we buy those 3 players plus a CB then it will have been a fantastic Summer. A wide man may have to wait. We will probably wave goodbye not just to Vidic but Evra, Ferdinand, Nani, Giggs, Anderson and perhaps Kagawa.

A team does not need expensive 'world class' players for its fans to have a good season. I believe Utd need to invest in the coaching department. Look at Liverpool, besides Suarez, there is no other big name. Sterling, Coutinho etc are now making names for themselves. Everton - a very good side - (No big names). Teams like Dortmund don't pay hugh sum for players, Athletico Madrid. We need to invest in coaching staff. Bring in someone who is good technically. There should also be a succession plan at the club and avoid "hand picking" coaches as is the case wit the current one.

Don't hold your breath - paper never refused ink. We'd all love to see players of that calibre come in but I'd wait until it happens.
Regarding Kroos - think I would prefer to have Marco Reus myself.

100% agree Rory, we have Mata and Kagawa, but we don't have a proven quality winger. Adna will be quality but Reus would bring that proven 'x factor' which we need! He would add speed, directness and end product to our attack! Carvalho, or similar, is key to this plan, nonetheless

Kagawa may well be available but I think it will take a good offer for us to let him go. I think if we are in for Reus then this may put him out the team but he will still have a role to play. With RVPs problems (which won't get any better with age) we will often have a scenario where Rooney is the main striker and Reus, Mata and Kagawa start behind him which is mouth watering. If we keep one of Valencia or Young for cover as well as Januzaj, Zaha and Lingard then we are pretty set for many years.

Toni Kroos representives have come out and said there is no offer from Manchester United and there would be no point as toni Kroos will be at bayern next season

Another one put to bed

That means diddly squat to be honest. What possible motive could the agent have for suggesting that? What does an agent want more than anything? Until the window closes (and opens for that matter) nothing is put to bed. I'd quit worrying about it for now if I were you and enjoy the rest of the season.

"We have not received any official contract offer [from Manchester United], "

"There is also no need to submit an offer as Toni will be with Bayern Munich until June 2015."

Assuming this is true - it reads very much like he will be heading to United. Of course we haven't given him an OFFICIAL contract offer (this would be considered tapping up) - but to word it this way implies there have been talks and a provisional offer has been made.

The agent mentioning a specific point in time reads as a threat to BM that if they do not sell him he is prepared to run his contract down and leave for nothing in June 2015. Are BM really that stubborn to turn down £25m+ for a player who doesn't want to be there and would be leaving the league? I don't think so.

When this all started I assumed Kroos was just looking for an improved contract with BM - but the longer it goes on the more I have to wonder. I still believe he will sign a new deal over the next few months but am slowly starting to believe that a summer move to OT is, at the very least, a possibility.

There was no realistic chance that we were going to get him anyway

Agree0 Disagree3

It's no secret Kroos' first choice is to stay at BM. If BM pay him what he wants he will stay.

Agree0 Disagree0

Did you really think there was a realistic chance? A player at one of the top European clubs with just over a year left on his contract
just using the name of Manchester United as a negotiation bargaining tool.its been done before and will be done in the future.

I think there could be something in what redseven is saying.

£260k a week is a proper head turner and its not like Kroos would have to play in some Russian outpost in order to earn it.

There's no way Bayern will offer him anything like that amount and if Utd are offering him that sum, it certainly is a statement of belief in him. You wouldn't need a massive ego to be flattered and seduced by such obvious faith in your abilities from of the biggest clubs in world football.

Perhaps it comes down to Kroos, how motivated by money he is and what his relationship with Bayern is.

Even if the money turns his head, it doesn't mean he's a money grabbing mercenary. How many of us would move to our employer's competitor for quadruple our current wage, even if our current employer was offering to double it in order to keep us?

Agree0 Disagree0

Money talks and I think united will pay kroos more than Munich.
United need him more Munich don't have to break the bank to keep him when everyone fit he won't be guaranteed a start
