Ed002. what clubs are interested in Javier Hernandez?
Thanks

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Valencia, Atletico and possibly Cardiff and Spurs (who are regrouping).}

Papers reporting that we have made contact with Sunderland over manonne (sorry about the spelling) why oh why would we? De gea will be the best keeper in the world in a couple of years. Lindegaard is a very capable keeper who said he is happy at united even as a fringe player. Johnstone and Amos are very good up and coming players. If we sign a goalkeeper I will be extremely angered as that is actually one area we have plenty of talent and consistency.

Believable15 Unbelievable7

Lindegaard is keen to leave for first team football.

Agree0 Disagree0

Obviously if Utd don't qualify for Champions League and worse Europa, players will want to leave. de Gea has been good, but I can't see him staying if Utd are not in Europe. Cheers.

Apparently talks could be in place with Chelsea about Juan Mata, anyone have any information on this? I think United and Chelsea are too close of rivals to sell him to United. He would be a player we lack in our squad.

Believable5 Unbelievable17

I seriously doubt Chelsea would do business with utd on a player of his calibre, most of what I've heard is clubs in France and Italy, and they will pay. Chelsea know how effective he can be there's just too much competition for that position there

Agree0 Disagree0

We can only hope.

Agree0 Disagree0

I posted yesterday suggesting that it may well be in Chelsea's best interest to loan Mata to us for the rest of the season (we take points off their rivals, their player gets game time which keeps his value high until the summer and it also keeps him happy with the World Cup on the horizon). I highly doubt that Chelsea would allow us to sign him permanently but certainly think it's worth us putting in a cheeky loan bid.

Agree0 Disagree2

You just never know maybe just maybe in a wishful thinking world Chelsea will sell him to us after they play us this weekend and not beforehand for obvious reasons.Wat a buy that would be but the chances are we prob won't sign anyone in this window!

Hi eds!
Would it be possible to let us kno what the situation as regards koke is concerned.
Was a lot of talk of us been intrested and all seems to have gone quiet. Is anything likely to happen either this window or in the summer.
Also there's so much talk about new signings with us needing as many as 4, 5 or even 6. Clearly thered need to be a fair few going out the door aswell. Where are we at with that.

Thanks a lot keep up the great work!

Believable5 Unbelievable3

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed. Barcelona held talks with Atletico Madrid about Koke and Chelsea was also discussed in terms of being part of a possible part exchange deal with a Chelsea player. Manchester United maintain an interest in him, as do Bayern Munich and I am told that Manchester City have also had Koke watched recently. However, chances of a move in January must be slim at best.}

Cheers ed002.
Apart from the much talked about anderson and nani do we kno who the players david moyes is happy to let leave are. I kno youve said vidic is looking at moving on in the summer guessing this going to be giggs and probably rio's last season. Who else will be most likely to make way for the new signings and youth players coming through?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Evra and Bebe. Probably Macheda and maybe Hernandez. Over the next 18 months there will be significant changes to the team.}

Cheers ed002!

Agree0 Disagree0

Domi - Fabio, Buttner & Amos will almost certainly leave. You have to say there are question marks over Kagawa, Zaha, Young & Rooney.

Agree0 Disagree1

Sydney if evra, buttner, and fabio leave do you think we will need more than just the one left back to come in. Who'd be your choice as replacments syd?

Agree0 Disagree0

Buttner may go out on loan for experience in the short term, rather than sold permanently, but I cannot see him here long term. We may well buy a couple left-backs over the next couple windows. I like Coentrao, but MU seem to like Luis Filipe.

hi ed002 of the clubs that DM has been watching of late do you have any concrete ideas as to whom he was scouting(with the exception of Vidal which you have kindly already explained once or twice;) as i'm of the opinion that these little missions he is on have nothing to do with this window and more to do with the next.

thanks.

Believable7 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - I really don't know where he has been and really can't be bothered to check. There is clear interest in Felipe from Atletico as I explained. Again there is interest in Vidal. If they want to get a deal done for Garay, who is keen on the move, they must move quickly now.}

Thanks ed002 :)

Anderson has arrived in fiorentina ahead of loan move with option to buy him at end of season. no word on what money is involved but hopefuly will lead to a replacement being signed at sum point

Believable10 Unbelievable1

If the move is permanent, the fee will be about £5.4m. I would the loan fee to be a six-figure fee + full/majority payment of wages.

Any interest in Marek Hamsik Eds?

Believable1 Unbelievable8

{Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

16 Jan 2014 13:56:41
Ed is there any interest in Lucas at PSG?

Believable10 Unbelievable6

{Ed004's Note - Apparently a little}

@Ed004

I think signing him would be a mistake, especially at the price he would cost. We need to look at inverted wingers and sort out the left side of attack with Reus and play Januzaj on the right and switch between them.

But perhaps with Gundogan likely to leave Dortmund, we will meet a "not for sale" barrier for Reus?

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed004's Note - Does Reus not have a buy out?}

I thought Rolls Reus buy out was £30 million. We could get both Reus and Gundogan for inside £60 million. That would be a huge summer deal to pull off. Would really love Vidal and Coentrao this window with Gundogan, Reus and Garay in the summer.

Agree1 Disagree0

Well then I would guess that Lucas is back up to Reus. I would be happy with either and as stated above, play them with Januzaj as the other inverted winger.

Agree0 Disagree0

Reus plays on the left whilst Moura is predominantly a right sided player. I think we will soon be in for the water boys and the ground crew if you believe call the stories. I think it is lazy journalism and most i'd bs.

Agree0 Disagree0

@Ed004

I think the other editor has explained to us that buyouts aren't as simple as they seem to be. But if something like that can be done and its within our price range, I hope the club goes all out to sign the guy.

Agree0 Disagree0

United went in for Lucas but PSG outbid us and joined PSG for £35m. I can't see PSG selling Lucas Moura at a loss seeing that he is on a long-term contract.

Hey Ed? Is the deal for Rotariu complete? What about #MUFC interest in Mata, Salah and Carvalho?

Believable5 Unbelievable2

{Ed004's Note - No and there is no interest in any of them bar possibly Carvalho}

16 Jan 2014 12:54:45
Let's look at this logically, Moyes appears to want a CB, a LB, a CM who'll drive the team forward and create chances, and a versatile creative midfield.

It looks like Mangala and Garay are being looked at for CB with maybe someone like Schar as an outside bet.

LB looks to be Coentrao or Alex Sandro. Although personally I prefer Ricardo Rodriguez.

Centre midfield looks like Ander Herrera, Arturo Vidal or Ilkay Gundogan. I'd also have a Axel Witsel in there too.

Then we seem to be looking at Koke, Reus, Lallana and Cabella as the versatile attacking midfielder.

I would expect most of the other positions we may need players for will be promoted from the youth set up, with Powell Lingard and the Keane twins looking to step up.

Personally as we have Fabio and possibly Buttner leaving too i'd add another signing and move for Davide Santon, he's prem proven and as good at RB and LB and still young.

Believable18 Unbelievable8

Can you see utd paying the crazy figures being banded about for mangala shappy?

Agree0 Disagree0

If it was me the first thing I would do is promote Michael Keane, Lingard and Powell - then either Henriquez or Keane. Personally I think that Henriquez has more potential.

I think you're on the right lines with the signings though. If it was up to be I'd get Garay, Gundogan, Vidal, Reus, Coentrao and try for Shaw. That would make the side unstoppable.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we will get Gundogan and I believe shaw is on the cards, even though people talk chelsea but little birdie says he is coming our way:)

Agree0 Disagree0

Mangala - Probably will move to Man City in the summer.
Garay - Rejected Zenit as far as I know. Still think that there are better options though.
Alex Sandro - Can't judge, haven't really seen him play.
Coentrao - Possibly either now or in the summer. One that might happen.
Herrera - Can't see that happening now. Any prospect of a deal is dead.
Vidal - Certainly won't be happening in January, perhaps the summer but the club record fee would be broken if this deal is pulled off.
Gundogan - See Vidal.
Witsel - A Belgian midfielder with big hair. We already have one of those.
Koke/Reus - See Vidal.
Lallana - Possible with Cortese resigning and the possibility of the club going up for sale but would still have to be a good bid.
Cabella - Might leave Monpellier but Newcastle also interested.
Santon - Would be a good signing but would not be cheap, especially in January.
Shaw - See Lallana. Added complexity as Chelsea/Manchester City also likely to bid big money.

Should recall Nick Powell if a CM is not signed in this transfer window.

Possibly Leaving (January/Summer)
Fabio - Inevitable he will go in the summer upon expiry of his contract. Might even leave (loan/permanent) this window.
Anderson - On loan to Fiorentina. Hopefully that will be made permanent.
Evra - Contract up in the summer. Would expect a bumper contract from PSG/Monaco.
Ferdinand - Can't see him staying as a player beyond the summer. Right time for him to retire tbh.
Nani - Return to Sporting Lisbon on loan mooted but nothing confirmed yet.
Giggs - To stay on as a coach but to end his glittering playing career.
Vidic - Out of contract in the summer and could also be set for a big-money contract. Galatasaray and Barcelona possible destinations.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll officially start believing in God again if we sign Vidal or Gundogan. That has to be the priority signing.

Coentrao on a loan to buy seems feasible. While Mangala and Koke bring class now and are both 21 so v long term investments too.

We all know we need Glazers to dip into their pockets big time. Maybe they'll realise soon enough that the share price will only go in one direction if we don't invest in the squad and their brand continues to lose games etc.

Would love us to make some real statement of intent buys in Jan but do folk really see it?

Will Vidal leave Juve when they're 8 pts clear in Serie A?
Will Koke leave an Atletico side challenging for top spot?

Can't see it :(

Hey Ed. It's mid-january. Can you the transfer situation of Manchester United right now. There seems to be lot of scouting going on. Can you shed some light on possibility of any of the following moving

Herrera/Koke/Gundogan/Hamsek/Inler/Marchisio/Vidal/Pastore/Rakitic/Coentrao/Carvalho/Garay/.

Whom do you think #MUFC will sign?

Believable5 Unbelievable4

{Ed004's Note - Search for one of Ed 2's posts its extremely long and detailed so you won't miss it. Most likely on that list in my opinion are; Garay, Coentrao, Vidal and Gundogan}

RM are very interested in Gundogan and they usually get their man. I do not hold much hope in signing Gundogan at all. It could mean Modric will be available mind. I think Coentrao is the most likely this month. Perhaps Garay for the summer and a midfielder and left winger for the summer? I think Coentrao will be it, but hope I am wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I would think Filipe Luis might be in the running.}

Do you think if Chicharito moves on to pastures new in the summer that we could move for Benteke? He would offer something completely and is a very able player. I think his problem this year at Villa is that he doesn't want to be there.

Agree0 Disagree2

Ed002, I read about this in the Mail yesterday. I do not know a great deal about him to be honest. Are there other clubs interested in signing him? Thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - There is no serious interest from elsewhere. There was an exchange for a goalkeeper.}

16 Jan 2014 10:23:52
Ed, do you know of any update on Gundogan? Does he has offers from United and Madrid for this window?

Any further progress with a bid for Vidal either? Thanks

Believable6 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - I would expect Gundogan will move to Real Madrid in the summer. There is no change from what I have explained about Vidal.}

15 Jan 2014 23:05:27
Rumours that RM have agreed a deal for Sevilla's Moreno? Ed's can you shed any light on this please. Could open the door for Coentrao as he looked as if he got sent off on purpose tonight lol! Cheers in advance

Believable0 Unbelievable5

{Ed002's Note - They are looking to buy him - but when is not clear just yet.}

I think Coentrao is desperate for the move to happen. If they go and get Moreno then great, I don't think he would cut it in the EPL - his attacking is great but defending wise is awful.

Agree0 Disagree0

I said this a couple of weeks ago, Moreno to RM, Coentrao to MU and Buttner to Spurs. Although I think Buttner abroad maybe more likely now.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah would have to agree he does seem really up for the move to us. This transfer window is hell it seems everlasting in waiting for something to happen lads! Two weeks left surely we will bring 1 or two in. Cheers for that aswell Ed
