a new centre midfielder that is apparently "world class " will be announced in the next 24-48 hours! its either one of sneijder, modric, nasri, sweinsteiger or charlie adam. i personally dont class adam as world class, because he struggles playing for scotland, and apparently bookies have stopped takin bets on nasri signing for united.

sweinsteiger & modric/sneijder would be a dream partnership...

Everyone is on twitter tonight because a person is saying that United a planning a big signing in next 24-48 hours i'm also hearing rumours that it could be Alexis Sanchez with a fee of £30.5m rising to £37m on future success for utd if true that would blow all clubs away.

Why do people think that we would let Ferdinand leave in order to get Modric, are you crazy? Ferdinand is still on of the best defenders in the world and the leader of our defence. He's not reliant on pace and could still have a good 2-3 seasons.

If we want Modric then it won't include Ferdinand in any deal. We won't fill a hole just to open up another one.... (loosing our best leader in the team)

Am I the only 1 who really doesn't want modric or snijder at united???
I'd much prefer nasri as my 1st choice and javi martinez as a close 2nd, both younger and both could be much better IMO!
One of those 2 aswell as sanchez along with the other 3 we have signed would make us unstoppable!

Ed, what is going on?! Why would we even think about selling nani! He has been easily been our best winger (including antonio)

Also, Ed, please give me some good news on Modric. Will he go to Chelsea? I couldn't STAND him out in ANYTHING other than a United shirt next season. {Ed002's Note - I delegate the answer to Syd.}

Based on what? So turning up at Giggsy's parents house on his 13th birthday asking him to sign isn't persistent? Traveling to London to catch Ozil in the Fulham tunnel isn't persistent? Sending a flower arrangement to Paul Pogba's mother whilst we are poaching Pogba isn't persistent. There are many examples of SAF being persistent over the years.

You have to remember that the transfer window hasn't opened yet, I have a sneaky suspicion we will equal Chelsea's Modric bid, if we miss out on Modric because he prefers Chelsea, then I think we may sign Kagawa. Very similar to Modric in his styles. But at 22 and the fact he's Japanese has it's advantages.

I think Kagawa is a player that Dortmund will consider selling, paying just 300k for him, they would find it hard to turn down a bid of around £12m. Ed002, do you think Kagawa is a possibility?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - You can buy Modric now if you want Syd. I really doubt Dortmund would sell Kagawa.}

@Ed002 - What did you mean by the Modric comment? Are you saying he's on the market? Could a swap for Berbatov interest Dortmund? Berbatov was always a hit in Germany wasn't he?

Sydney!

{Ed002's Note - A deal to be had. Offer Spurs and acceptable pice and he will be a United player.}

Believable7 Unbelievable11

16 Jun 2011 18:00:19
Ed002 - What are your thoughts on Kagawa for a Modric type player? Also do you believe United could tempt Dortmund to sell? I know they don't want too, but Kagawa has made it clear he would love to join United.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Everyone makes it clear they want to join Unitedf Syd. Bottom line remains, playing for Dortmond at the peak of football or playing at Barnsley in the reserves. Too hard to tell if he will chose the latter.}

i dont think Sanchez will come now utd left it too late&its now an auction should been done 2 years ago but only mayb thing is during the last world cup one of chiles players did interview&talked of sanchez dreaming of playing for united,
there is a question where is all this cash coming from?i know we have 100m in cash in the club but no way glazers gona let that all go,
even with the sales of likes of gibson, wes, oshea plus even nani wont be knocking our apparent deals spent or about to spend cash into balancing the books, even if berba goes another striker required caus no way wellback a top striker

You have got to laugh, Spurs are saying Modric is not for sale, it would take a ridiculous offer to be accepted, yet they have just had a bid accepted for Adam and Parker is favourite to join Spurs.

Ed002 - Why would Spurs want Parker, Adam & Joe Cole? If they aren't preparing for life without Modric, then I am a giraffe named pickleweasel.

Ed002 it seems Spurs are going to want a silly amount of money, what players would Chelsea consider offering in the deal?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Answers are slipping down the back of the sofa. How about Spurs having Parker; Aston Villa challenging Liverpool for Adam - with Liverpool winning; Cole staying at Liverpool.}

@Ed002 - You have forgotten someone Ed, where will Modric be next season? Do you know of any interest from United? Do Chelsea expect United to come in at some point?

So it seams Sanchez has five clubs to choose from. Barcelona, Us, City, Juventus and Inter Milan.

I am Red through and through, however I just cannot see him choosing us over Barcelona. I know there is the argument that he would get more playing time with us, but he has allegedly said he would prefer a sunnier climate.

Can you see a Chillian man sat on a terrace in the streets of Barcelona drinking morning coffee, or a chillian man nipping into the arndale for a pasty from greggs!!

Putting the humour aside, I personally think the city of Barcelona had more to offer than the city of Manchester to Sanchez, and this is unfortunate. I love Manchester because Ive been here all my life. But would a Chillian who has already experienced European football? Your views!

I hope im wrong, but I can not see it...................ED02 what are your opinions on this??

Exciting news surrey. I am a bin man and i clear the refuge at Fergies house. Amongst the whiskey bottles and chewing gum i found a letter from non other than Veron. It was a response to a come home plea from fergie. He said he would love to come home as he feels he has unfinished business. We all wondered where the ronaldo fee went, well it was waiting for this move.

Deal done with Chelsea that Utd won't bid for Modric if they don't bid for Sneidjer.

If we get Sanchez we will let Nani go.

Varanne will also be bought and loaned back for 1 year.

To Ed002

You talked about Udinese demanding Loan of Sanchez for a year from all interested parties.. Ed do u think it is still a condition put forward by Pozzo and Udinese to all interested parties..?

If this is the case dnt u think it is this thing which is holding out any move away from Udinese for Sanchez be it City/United/Barca..?

Shaun {Ed002's Note - That was back in January and nothing would surprise me about Pozzo. If one thing is sure, his viewpoint seems to change every morning, and that is what will hold up the transfer.}

Believable9 Unbelievable2

15 Jun 2011 23:52:13
Ed002 - It's funny how things change so quickly in the transfer window isn't it? A week ago you said it was a very slim chance that Sanchez will be a United player, now they are in the mix. A few weeks ago you said that Chelsea have no interest in Modric, but in fairness you did say not to your knowledge. They don't call it silly season for nothing do they?

Ed, what do you think Chelsea would be willing to spend on Modric? A month ago you said he was worth £25m-£30m, but I imagine it would be more now, is that fair?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - I cannot hazard a guess at the price. I suspect the bid is in retaliation to the price tag placed on Pastore. We will have to wait and see.}

@So if Chelsea won't pay £44m for a 21 year old Pastore, is it fair to say £35m would be their limit on a 26 year old Modric? Can you see £35m being the amount Spurs would be happy with? Just opinion of course?

Sydney!

{Ed002's Note - I am told this morning the Modric bid is being driven by one particular person but there is broad agreement that he may well bring something to the club. Obviously that does happen at Chelsea with several folks being able to exert a strong view. There is no benefit in trying to draw conclusions about prices based on teh prices of other players.}

Barca confirm Sanchez negotiations

Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu has confirmed the club have started negotiations with Udinese for Alexis Sanchez.
The Spanish and European champions have been linked with the 22-year-old winger for some time and Bartomeu is hopeful a deal will be reached.
"We are optimistic, but this has just begun. We are negotiating for Sanchez, " he told Chilean newspaper La Tercera.
"We know he is a valuable player; that is why there are so many teams after him. We have to continue talking and we will see what is going to happen in the next few days."
Sanchez, who is also a reported target for Inter Milan, Manchester City and Manchester United, is thought to prefer a move to the Nou Camp.
But Bartomeu insists the player's club hold the key to his arrival in Barcelona.
"We will first have to come to an agreement with Udinese, " he said.
