Ed do you think bale would be interested in a move here? I know you said we haven't shown interest but I do have the feeling we could go in for him. {Ed002's Note - I have no idea whether or not Bale would welcome a move to a club that has shown no interest in him.}

Believable3 Unbelievable14

I would think any player would welcome a move to us, the questions are 1) does fergie want him and 2) are we willing to pay the outrageous transfer fee that has been speculated.
I think he would defo have a first team place so would get plenty of game time and would really give us even more options-- can't see it happening though : (

{Ed002's Note - I am astonished that you think "any player would welecome a move to us". Are you a Liverpool supporter.}

Agree0 Disagree2

Right thanks Ed. I just get the feeling from some of his comments that he's a closet united fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

The stats don't lie Ed, biggest following in the world, dominated premiership since Fergie took over.
Pretty straight forward in my book (not biased at all. Ha ha)

Im pretty sure you were being sarcastic. No :)

{Ed002's Note - What is the possible relevance of the statistics?}

Agree0 Disagree2

Well ed, Statistics can prove anything 90% of people know this :)

I just look at it from a winning point of view - if you fancy having medals on your CV. And working with Sir Alex, Is there anywhere else in Englsnd you'd want to go?

Ok-- il take off the tinted glasses, forgive my naivity and my excitement before the match :)

{Ed002's Note - So you agree they are of no relevance to the original question.}

Agree0 Disagree1

Cherk the PR department have some openings, perhaps you should think of applying.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree1

Well ed, I know when I'm going for a job I weigh up all the options and pick the best company. I'm sure footballers do the same. Stats are hugely important. They estimate the growth trend. I don't think players of bales calibre have wages being a serious issue. I'm sure he wants to win medals.
Just my opinion

And yes Dan I'd luv a pr job with man utd--are u offering :)

Agree1 Disagree0

We have been in for him before and Southampton turned us down prob because they knew he would one day be sold from Tottenham so its not like we have shown no interest in Bale and when a player becomes a stand out player in England we are always going to try to sign um Katef

Agree0 Disagree0

If we have enough money and are really willing to pay 40-50 million on falcao, i'd rather pay that for bale.

Agree2 Disagree0

He is not interested in a move to ot, allegedly he and lennon had a clip on youtube taken down very quickly where they ridiculed manchester and merseyside and more so united and liverpool! The liverpool supporters who have seen it hate him

Agree0 Disagree0

Id prefer james rod from porto

Agree0 Disagree1

Going to OT and saying the result was quote "harsh on united", Idolising Giggs as a kid. I think if we went in for him then he'd come here. No idea what that video was but it sounds like a bit of banter tbh, I wouldn't hold it against him if he was signed.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

It certainly wasn't banter! They were fuming!, bale as a kid was a gooner! I don't think he would come to united!

Agree0 Disagree1

If he really was a gooner and then went to Tottenham, there's no where you can discount for him. It's either us or Real for him I think but perhaps Real is more likely, Ed said they have shown interest in him already.

A little far away from the dazzling heights of Falcao and Lewandowski.

I have a source from the academy and the talk is that SAF wants to send Sam Byrne out on loan in the championship/league 1 next season. He sees him as a great talent with a lot of potential.

Januzaj will stay on again at united and has being put into the gym a lot more recently to build up his strength.

Also Jesse Lingard is likely to be sold come the End of the season.

Thought it would be a nice break from the all the other talk.

Believable28 Unbelievable7

Can't see us selling Lingard mate

Agree0 Disagree2

No chance on gods earth that lingard wil b sold, I have a contact my bottom, scholes likened him to barca midfielders last year, get a grip kiddo
mick the red fireman

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't see Lingard being sold yet, I think he will have another season to prove himself first team material.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mick the red fireman.

You don't have to believe me. I've told you what I've heard from my friend who is involved in the youth set up.

He was unimpressive on his loan. And he's now 20 years old and the feeling is he isn't going to get to the level of Manchester United.

As with all things in football, it is subject to change. But that's what i've been told.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well when you play about an average of 5 minutes per game as a time wasting sub its hard to impress on loan.

Agree0 Disagree0

He trained with the first team at leicester and didn't impress. There was a reason he was a time wasting sub.

And just a quick note, he wasn't likened to Barca players, Scholes said that Lingard was small and that Barca use small players very well.

Anyway lads, who do we think is going to break into the first time from the reserves and youth?

For me I think it'll be Januzaj, Barmby, and Perreira

Agree1 Disagree0

Jake I would say that Januzaj, Wilson and Daehli or Pearson will be the first three U18s to break through. M Keane should get a PL loan next season and then go into the first team IMO.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Also did you're mate say anything about Tunnicliffe. I can't believe we would get rid of Lingard before Tunnicliffe. I don't think Tunnicliffe will make it tbh he just isn't good enough on the ball to be a united player. Had hoped that would improve over the last few years but it hasn't.

Dan

Agree0 Disagree0

Dan

I haven't asked about Tunnicliffe because he isn't really a player that interests me.

I personally think he'll be sold but that's just my opinion.

He's nowhere close to the level he needs to be.

Agree0 Disagree0

I came on here to say what looks like everyone has already said haha, Lingard surely won't be sold as he is one of our most dangerous youth players he just needs to put on some weight, surely he'll get another loan spell before a decision is made as the general talk of him on this seasons pre season is that he did well.

Going to agree with Dan in saying Tunnicliffe looked promising but his passing is what mainly let's him down which obviously would decrease any chance of him getting in the first team. I'm more interested in the future of Petrucci and Powell! Can't wait for Powell involved in more first team games.

Ozwald

Agree0 Disagree0

I have seen Lingards first performance for Leicester City and he played well. He created several chances only for his teammates to mess it up.

They just do not have a team that suits him. They play very physical and do not play a high quality passing game. It is more a classic hoof game.

I am not sure if he will make it but one loan that did not work out that well won't kill his United career.

Agree0 Disagree0

Jake, I don't know anyone in the youth set up but from what I've heard Wilson is rated the highest in the current bunch? Or at least he was last year.
I'm hoping we start producing some top level midfield talent from the academy soon like Ravel. Rashford looked very good for England U16s but I think he's an attacking mid more than a central mid.

I really like Ioannou in the youth team as well.

Edd do you know if draxler is likely to move this summer and have United got any interest {Ed002's Note - Both Milan clubs, Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea have enquired at one level or another abour Draxler - each has met a "not for sale" barrier.}

Believable2 Unbelievable5

Cheers edd

If Ed002 is available and has a spare 5 minutes.
Without going into money, how likely do you feel the following signings are? Lewandowski, Strootman, James Rodriguez.

Many thanks.

Paul {Ed002's Note - Unfortunately I cannot really answer questions regarding how "likely" players are to join. There is interest in all three and I have explained where I understand matters are with each.}

Believable10 Unbelievable0

Thanks for the reply Ed002. One last question, do you see James McCarthy moving away from Wigan this Summer? I know Ed007 has previously declared his admiration of him as a player which I tend to agree with.
Thanks again.

Paul {Ed002's Note - I don't know - they have always asked too much when approached in the past. You will find that Ed007 likes lots of young men.}

Just wondering if you know if we have any interest at all in Seamus Coleman at Everton - he looks like a great full back in the Denis Irwin mould and can also play on the right side of Midfield. Being Irish I've been watching him for quite some time and the recent critical acclaim is no surprise. He plays like a Manchester united player. {Ed002's Note - Not that I am aware.}

Believable9 Unbelievable15

He's older and less talented than Rafael.

We have the best young right back in tie league who is maturing into one of tie best right backs in the league. Why would we want to sign an inferior player?

Agree1 Disagree0

Cover!

Agree0 Disagree0

If rafael wasnt here yes I would but rafael is slightly better
Paddy The Irish Man

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Clondalkin!

Coleman is very good and would be excellent cover for RB and RM. I agree we have potentially the best right back in the world, but if he was to get injured then what?
Coleman is very similar to Irwin and if needs be I reckon could be converted to left back as he strikes me as very dedicated and professional player.

eds do you know anything about Philipp Hosiner, transfer wise? Even if its not united related. {Ed002's Note - He looked likely to be moving to Ajax but there is nothing recent I know of.}

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Well to be honest syd. said on a s sports interview that united HAVE paid a a fee to atletico madrid. BUT the payment will be to give united extra leverage when other fish start biting around falcao this summer. in all honesty we more than likely won't see him at OT next season but. wel see. buy the was wazza was a breath of fresh air playin in the center the other day i'm lookin forword to seen him play against the big guns in that position. md

Agree0 Disagree1

Cheers ED hope he moves to a top club outside the prem, I think he could be a huge talent in years to come

Ed002, are United interested in completing a deal for Falcao? Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - There has been no deal completed for Falcao and no payment made by Manchester United. I dealt with this at length last week Syd.}

Believable2 Unbelievable8

That's not what I asked though Ed. I don't think there has been any deal completed and I don't think there has been any payment made to AM by United no matter what Balague says, but are United trying to do a deal? Are they interested in signing Falcao this summer?

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - Not as far as one of the owners is concerned.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed, that's what I thought.

Sydney!

Agree0 Disagree0

I would be amazed if we are trying to sign falcao,

Agree0 Disagree0

Dont want falcao in my opinion united want to be signing younger players to mould themselves

Ed002, do you think some sort of swap deal with Roma for Lamela is possible this summer? They are keen on Nani and United have had interest in Lamela. Thanks.

Sydney! {Ed002's Note - No.}

Believable0 Unbelievable3

Lamela looks good but i'd rather use nani as leverage on marchisio of juve and sort that problem out once and for all.

Agree0 Disagree0

Swap deals are often touted. do they ever happen? when a team buys a player, a deal involving another player moving to the other club on loan might occur (possibly as a sweetener) but I cannot think of any swaps that have taken place between big name players in recent years. feel free to contradict me with evidence to the contrary

ed, do you know if our scouts have been watching erik lamella. {Ed002's Note - I would not hold your breath for a move to England but Manchester United were interested before he left River Plate. Manchester City have been looking at him this season and are looking for talks. He has horribly complex ownership issues and would need a work permit - that will perhaps not be as easy to get as some imagine. One other English club were interested but stepped away because of these complexities.}

Believable0 Unbelievable1

Thanks Ed, that answers my question too.
