Any truth in the Hernanes rumours? A few Italian papers recon his agent is meeting with Moyes this week. Not a bad signing, but seems expensive at 18 mil.

News coming out of Old Trafford today is that moyes has identified the player to patch up our midfield at least until the summer when the likes ok koke will be available. The deal is a loan with a view to permanent in summer if moyes is impressed. The player I am talking about which may come as a shock is tom huddlestone. We will use our good relationship with Steve Bruce to push the deal through and send zaha the opposite direction on loan to sweeten the deal.
Look out for this in tomorrow's papers.

Although I don't see it. I would be happy with that.

Agree0 Disagree1

! This is one of the funniest rumours I've heard. Number 1 he isn't up to united standard by miles and secondly he is hulls most key central midfielder! If it happens I'll eat my hat but I'm fairly sure my hat will stay put firmly on top of my head

Huddlestone?

Agree3 Disagree0

LOL, the only midfielder worse than him in our squad is Cleverley. Carrick and Fletcher are better, I don't believe that for a second.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol is it April already

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think you guys are giving him the recognition he deserves. He is a great prospect. I admit this is most likely a Wind up and probably reference the fact we are linked with every player under the sun. However he is a creative MF who has far better legs than both Carrick and Fletcher. However a Loan. Well What harm can that do?

Sorry but I would say this is a good bit of business. I rated him at Spurs and I think this season he has been impressive. Some say its easy to shine in a poor Team.

So yes this is a Joke. But I would take it given the situation we are in

Agree0 Disagree0

So hull sell there best CM to us and in return they get a young winger on loan. Yes this rumour makes perfect sense!

Agree1 Disagree0

ErrrmThe rumor is that we are getting him on loan too ;) with option to buy.

Eds, what's the latest on any players leaving? I believe Anderson will have a medical at Fiorentina today. What about Nani and Buttner? Or any others who might leave in January? Also, would appreciate an update on Lingard, I believe his contract expires this summer? Extension?

Hello,

I had some info today - again nothing 100% definite or too controversial but thought I'd share. With the Anderson deal very likely to go through now, the club is apparently making firm arrangements for two incoming players. When I say 'firm arrangements' - this means transport, relevant paperwork/admin, medical aspects, and required security/logistics etc.

The voice from within says one of these is Fabio Coentrao - who is likely to arrive as a loan (with a view to buy) deal. This still depends on Madrid however. Furthermore, and perhaps more surprising to me, was potential talk of a deal involving Rooney and Mata. It has been said that with Rooney's contract situation, the risk involved could force the club's hand in the matter. Definitely something I will try to find out about in more detail. Even if things develop and do not involve Mata, the Rooney situation on its own is definitely something of a concern as far as I have been told.

Again - none of this is definite. Thanks for the welcome and good debate :-)

Anderson is a loan to fiorentina. You didn't mention that in your itk post.

Agree2 Disagree0

I thought it was obvious - but I mentioned Anderson at the start?!

Agree1 Disagree1

What are you on about? Moyes won't be interested in mata he has too much technical ability. We would more likely sign Gareth Barry to compliment cleverly. Be like having the chuckle brothers passing sideways in midfield. To me to you.

Agree1 Disagree0

Lets be honest Rooney for Mata swap makes sense. Rooney unlikely to be here next season as he seeks a new challenge - what he reportedly wanted last close season if you believe SAF / Phelan.

As for Mata he's a great little player who obviously needs first team football prior to the World Cup.

It may be that neither United or Chelsea would prefer to sell to each other but bottom line is this could be a go-er.

And that's not ITK its just a person with eyes!

Agree1 Disagree1

I can see the Rooney deal being a worry, but am confident we would run down his deal instead of selling him to another English club.

Hi ed002, a week or so again you mentioned that utd may look at Ranocchia if a deal for garay could not be done. With zenits interest in garay and dortmunds in Ranocchia, I was wondering if utd had made a decision on either? Thanks

Believable9 Unbelievable2

{Ed002's Note - Garay is clearly the player the club wants.}

Ed002, can you give us a little more info and tell us what the hold up is? Is it still agent fees to be agreed or is it the transfer fee? Or both? Thanks.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The club have yet to put an acceptable offer on the table. Zenit will pay but the player is not keen. Valencia will want some sort of deal or trade as I think the money will be beyond them.}

We've put in a £12 million bid to try and persuade Serge Gnabry to make the switch from Arsenal. Youve heard it here first!

Believable5 Unbelievable45

No we haven't.

Agree2 Disagree1

Not worth anywhere near that

Agree1 Disagree0

Lol bit early for the strong stuff ain't it?

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be a major step down for Gnabry, I don't think this is feasible at all.

Ed01, what's happening with Zaha, Is he out fon Loan?. Heard the deal is off. This is ridiculous, either the lad should play certainly ahead of nani, young and gigs or FGS send him out on Loan.

Believable5 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he is available for the right loan deal, it is just not easy finding one for some players, as it needs to be one that doesn't expose them to the wrong influences.}

Zaha wants to stay and play or go on loan to a London club. MU want to keep him away from London.

Agree0 Disagree0

ED001

Are saying we have another badboy/ problem child on our hand. Given the number of teams outside london is he actually rated and why the difficulty to loan him out.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is not really a badboy as such, just a bit full of himself and seems to think he is already a superstar. He just needs the right environment to grow, rather than going back to Palace and being treated like a superhero, increasing his ego even further. It is a case of being careful with him.}

@Ed001

I remember, that last January you said that the price that was paid for him was way over the top and I disagreed back then.

But now after having watched him in pre season and in whatever little action he has had, what I can see is he is VERY raw and is extremely susceptible to giving the ball away and his decision making is a bit Naniesque.

Sometimes he doesn't seem to know what the end product of his tricks and flicks will be.

I think his lack of finesse is why Moyes has kept him out and rightly so. A loan will do him a world of good, but needs to be to the right team which plays a possession and passing style of football.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is very raw, not in the way Ronaldo was when he signed, but more like someone who doesn't understand anything about the game and just wants to show off. Those kind of players are great for fans to watch, but they don't win trophies. The best players can do the flicks and tricks, but it is in order to gain space or create a chance to score, rather than doing a trick for the sake of doing a trick. I don't see Zaha as one of those, he doesn't seem to have that mentality at all.}

Send him to Cardiff and let OGS make him ready.

Agree0 Disagree0

Agree Ed001. Good to see Moyes give Januzaj a real go, the lad is a great talent.

With the Siqueira to Real deal, he is on a season long loan from Granada to Benfica. For Real to get this done they would probably have to forgoe some percentage on any future Garay transfer. There are also rumours that Real's number 1 target is Moreno with a deal to be done in the summer.

As for Garay, apparently he's holding out for Ubited who believe they can do a deal in 2-3 days as Benfica need the money and the €20m asking price from the summer will have dropped.

For us to sign Coentrao and Garay the Siqueira deal seems key.

Other rumours Nani has changed agents to help a move to Juventus.

City are willing to give a fee and players for Mangala, I'd united were interested would they have used Anderson in a deal with Porto.

Juventus say Pogba us not for sale, no ne independent news on Lucas Moura to United and apparently we have been collecting info in Carlos Mane since Feb.

All rumours feel free to discuss and say if you've heard anything similar.

Believable6 Unbelievable6

I can't even see the might of Madrid getting this Siquiera deal done - they would have to get Benfica to cancel his loan and get rid of their option to buy him, then negotiate a deal with Granada so it's unlikely. I don't see why they can't have Arbeloa as back up to Marcelo, surely its better than having a disinterested Coentrao who looked like he tried to get himself sent off to be honest.

If the Garay deal goes through then that would be a huge bonus and for £16 million that would be a snip - I'd choose him over Mangala any day of the week. We have to use Nani in any deal for Vidal and have to play hardball with them to get it through, whether we will be able to or not is another matter.

Agree1 Disagree0

Spanish radio reporting Moreno to RM is as good as done. Which would help with Coentrao.

Garay (is it me or has this rumour gone on as long as Sneijder?) its now or never, apparently he turned down Zenit hoping we'd come in.

Finally Hamsik story is growing legs, surprised its taken so long really, he is a poor mans (OK not so poor) Vidal but a great engine (Moyes likes a work horse) and an excellent player. Still I'm not going to argue with ED002.

Agree0 Disagree0

If we can't get Vidal then yes Hamsik would be an excellent signing. Not sure how willing Rafa would be to do business with us though and Napoli drive a hard bargain. I'd be content with Garay and Coentrao for this January - never really expected much so it would be a welcome surprise.

O jogo (yeah I know) a newspaper in Portugal, is reporting that Garay's move to us could be completed in the next 2-3 days.

Reports today stating Guilherme Siqueira who is currently on loan at Benfica has been targeted by Real Madrid as a replacement for Coentrao. Coentrao to United this window could still be on the cards.

Believable9 Unbelievable1

{Ed002's Note - Do the reports mention that he is on a season long loan and Benfica has the option to buy him in the summer?}

17 Jan 2014 06:09:10
Hey Ed. I read news that #MUFC are interested in signing Hernanes, Parolo and recent enquiries about Guarin. Your take on this. Will #MUFC grab any of these players?

Believable3 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - (1) Not aware of interest. (2) Probably won't move until the summer. (3) He has been of long-term interest - perhaps.}

Hi Eds, quick one for ya's, Is Mata a no go totally or would we have a chance or even more likely in signing him after the weekend game against Chelsea?

Believable3 Unbelievable4

{Ed002's Note - There has been no approach to Chelsea for Mata. The game at the weekend is of no consequence.}
